Futuristic Those That are Hunted

(I'll edit those two posts then. And, OMG, Hayden, leave us be for a couple of days. Amelie is a sitting duck.)

It was early in the morning when Vulcan finally began to wake up. First his fingers started twitching, then his shoulders. When he finally opened his eyes he immediately had to curl up, holding on to his head. The hangover was overwhelming. His body was still hurting from the fight last night but there seemed to be nothing broken. Vulcan knew how to take a hit, this wasn't his first beating, and the suit offered him an additional protection as well. When his vision started to clear he pulled himself up. He needed to get back to Amelie. Vulcan trusted her that she wouldn't betray him and send a squat after him but that didn't mean he could simply misuse her kindness. The club wasn't far from the inn but it was always harder to find your way in a state of hangover. He had to lean on nearby walls a couple of times before finally getting to the hotel. Vulcan imagined that Amelie must have been moved to another room after he broke the door off its hinges, so he went to the reception to ask.

"Yes, Ms. Glass has been transferred to the room next by after the accident with your... dog. So you know, sir. We don't really allow pets in our hotel."

"Will that change your mind." He handed him his credit card. Vulcan couldn't believe he hasn't been robbed. His gangster reputation was still strong it seemed. That was good.

After the receptionist had written the property damage and the bribe to his account Vulcan climbed the stairs and after hesitating for a moment carefully knocked on door 210. His muscles were tense, he was ready to jump out of the way of any flying bullet or icicle. He dearly hoped it wouldn't come to this.

Allia only smirked at the Therian, she had, in fact, been called a witch before but there was a slight difference in Vulcan's reaction. She didn't bother corecting him though - the less they knew about her powers the better. Having the advantage of surprise was a bigger plus than people understood. From what they knew she could be able to cast mindcontroll and those little flikers of fear in their eyes when she stood before them in a fight would be their downfall.

There came the other ploblem - Hayden. He seemed intent on eliminating not only these two agents but any that crossed his path. Allia was certain that he wouldn't hesitate to kill her either if she got in his way. The blond didn't take well to taking other poeple's lifes, she was not a deity, nor a Dark Angel, measuring others' time, life was precious and life was energy you weren't allowed to mess with. Should the former agent decide to play God she'd be the first to knock him back into reality.

Allia turned to the offering Vulcan had brough and went into preparing a meal, it was the least she could contribute with as the other's were out busy, hopefully working on gathering allies. Her eyes stopped on the tree which she had been hiding in earlier, one of it's main branches chopped off. The forest spirits will not be happy. She made quick work of ridding the dead animal of its feathers and cleaning it up nicely until only edible meat and organs were left. What could not be eatten by them she left a couple of yards away for the forest animals and in apology for the destruction she had caused. A fire was started by the cave entrance and, knowing the smoke might give them away, Allia used her ability to scatter low in the area insted of letting it rise in clouds to the sky. This way they wouldn't be giving out their location.

By the time she caught attention of Hayden's energy coming closer all evidence of the fire was gone, the meat wrapped up in big leaves was put away in the cave.

"You were gone for a long time. Come across anything useful?"

Ky holds in a sad whimper. "I'm sorry..." She mumbles as he walks away. "It's time to be strong. The government is going to get it." She snarls as she walks stiffly back to the group. She turns human and returns to the group fire blazing in her eyes. "If any of you ever see Amelie or Vulcan again on our territory you have the authority to attack and drive them off. If they resist fight them. We do not have time for them anymore. I'm not dealing with them." Her angry voice flowing in the air. "It's almost sun high. Our allies will be waiting for us so we shall head over to them. All of us." She says and stares each of them in the eyes. "Hayden, Please summon your smartest wyrm to protect the camp while we are gone. Allia, find something that can be an offering for them. And toron, make sure you have a forcefield ready incase things go wrong. You all have 15 minutes then we are heading down to the valley." She orders then heads inside the cave and grabs HER bow and HER arrows. She sligs the quiver onto her shoulder. She cleans her wound and bandages it back up again. She walks out of the cave and looks into the sky. The sun is exactly above her. "Alright! Lets go people they will be waiting!"

Toron listens to kythas orders. "Yes ma'am!" He says and runs off creating 3 forcefields. "C'mon toron focus... You need a forth..." He says and a forth small forcefield begins to form. "Yes! New record!" He says an hides them behind his back. Kytha calls then and he runs over. "Ready ky! Lets go."

Amelie let her self calm down before heading down to get a new room. Couldn't exactly statu in those one. It room Amelie some time to get down the stairs but she eventually made it. "Excuse me sir. I'm going to need a new room. My uh dog got a little out of control and did some damage." The man at the desk gave her a look. "Ma'am. You aren't supposed to have pests here." Amelie Hamed he I'm a hundred dollar bill and he handed her a set of keys. "Lucky for you the room next door is empty." ~Vulcan is making this trip cost twice as much.~ Walking back to the straps Amelie groaned. She woodshed there was am elevator. It took her ten minutes to climb up the flight of stairs. Making sure no one was around she summoned a humanoid figure to help move the box thay had comes for them that day. She grabbed tge clothes she had and moved in the next room. Lucky for her the was a king sized bed waiting. It was starting to get dark and Amelie, at that moment, honestly didn't care where Vulcan was. Insteachanged into her pajamas, which was a tank top and shorts, and went to bed.

The next morning Amelie was women by a knock. She groaned into the pillow before getting up and opened the door. Seeing that it was Vulcan she wanted to slam the door in his face, but refrained herself from doing so. Instead she held the door so that there was s small gap. "You look like shit." Was the first thing thay came out of her mouth. "Coming back here you are asking to look a lot worse than you do now." Her grip on the door tightened.

Vulcan lowers his head, staring at the ground, not daring look at her, thinking of an excuse but finds none. "Sorry is such a misused word." He turns to go. There was no point in trying to convince Amelie and he was in no mood to do so either. He had hurt her and had truly deserved the beating. "Might as well get back there and let them finish what they started." He could also look for a job. There was always work waiting for him... but with a hangover his sight would be far off. That was beyond question. Besides, he was an agent now and as such he couldn't take those missions any more. However, there was bound to be some fight club open by day somewhere in those corners of the city where the sun never shined - the places Vulcan had spent all his life in. Live has always been good with him. There weren't many gifted that could say that they had survived over their twenties, especially in a gang. People never understood that where he came from, everyone was either a convict, been in jail, been in a gang, was a hooligan of some sorts, but those were his brothers, his family and the people that he used to travel with. Those were the people that he rolled with and would gladly die as such. Change was not a thing one could simply achieve when he finds someone to love and protect or joins an organisation that is said to help you make that change. Time leaves a scar that never disappears but one learns from experience it seems.

He waves his hand in a tired manner and starts walking down the hallway, internally hoping Amelie would just call him back. He would tell her everything, no more lies, no more foul plays... But why would she do that. He didn't deserve her kindness, nor her sympathy. His kind was meant to be alone.

Hayden had done so as what Kytha had commanded, shards starting to regroup and form Claiyre. She was tired after the her attack in the hospital, yet still, she can take few hours of guarding the cave. Even with Allia and Toron performing their powerful gifts, he ignored them but for Kytha. It wasn't about Kytha's gift, it was and will always be about her. Her beauty, her personality... everything. This is what Hayden loved about her, and every once and a while he'd push himself back to his stable state, trying to avoid love. He had said it before, and he's about to say it now, love was an enemy. He couldn't afford being a victim of love, sometimes he'd wish about abandoning Kytha, yet almost all the time he just wanted to think about her.

Hayden followed Kytha, as usual. He was running low on life essence and needed to recharge some time later, so he brought a knife he found inside the cave, and also secretly stole one arrow bolt from Kytha's quiver, quietly placing it just underneath his belt that was covered by his long black coat. Whatever this meeting was, Hayden was ready for it.

(Vulcan could always come back to kythas rebellion as long as he only meets her and can prove his loyalty lol)

Once everyone head gathered Kytha began walking towards the valley. The steep slope of the mountain made footing dangerous and he had to catch toron once from sliding all the way down and possibly injuring himself. In the middle o the field somewhat on their left side their was a black wolf, her mind went insane with memories of Vulcan and a tear fell down her face which she made sure was quickly wiped away. She turned to the others causing her to walk backwards. "I must be in wolf or bear form to talk to them as they are a wolf pack. Just follow along and every once in a while I will turn back human and tell you what we have spoken about." She turns around and takes wolf form nodding to the black wolf as they pass him.

They are now coming up on the group and Kytha bark a greeting as they walk closer. "Hello my friends." The other alpha barked back.

"We are ready for the meeting." She say dominantly.

"As are we." He smirks

Seeing Vulcan walk away Amelie felt a pain in her chest. Could she really just let the one person who actually cared for her walk away? "Vulcan wait!" She opened the door and ran up to him. "I'm sorry. This is partially my fault. I'm not used to someone...well someone who didn't just like me because of my body." She reached out and took his hand. "It's a cruel world for our kind, and it's even worse for females. You'd be surprised how sexist the agency can be and I...i had to do shameful thing to get to my position." ~None of this is sounding any better.~ "Just come back in the room and I'll patch you up. You don't have to tell me where you where as along as you don't leave me." None She gripped his hand tighter.

Vulcan manages a smile as he turns around "Tell me about shameful. I got my position through violence. You can ask almost any dealer or gangster in the street and they would have heard of the Black wolf. Some fear me, others want me dead or at least dishonored." His hand moves up and strokes her cheek "I don't want to be with with you because of your body. And you know what I think? I think that the shard that pierced your heart simply rooted out the ice from it." Vulcan moved closer to her and embraced her gently. "I'll not let any man touch you again." He releases her soon after and goes back to their new room. "It's definitely bigger." He walks to the vanity table to look in the mirror and examine the effects of last night. His temple was blue, his underlip cracked with dried blood all around the spot and down his chin "How did they even let me in?... Well, serves me right."

Hayden gripped his knife harder. Kytha never said anything about wolves. He gave a blank stare at the large black wolf, trying to examine him. Obviously, he couldn't. Hayden was a human, not a wolf. "Damn it, Kytha... you're gonna get us all killed." He muttered. Hayden looks around and scans the area, he has a feeling that they're being watched by a hundred more wolves. Now that would just be overreacting wouldn't it. Still, his paranoia grew stranger, as was his adrenaline, to urge to just kill these wolves strike him. "Let's just be done with this, Kytha."

Amelie rolled her eyes at him. "I wish I got my position through violence." She muttered. Feeling his hand on her cheek she leans into it, a soft smile on her lips. "It's only with you Vulcan. It's only because of you that I let her go. if it were anyone else I would have ignored them and finished my job...both times." When he let go she followed him back into the room. She grabbed a wash cloth from the barhroom, soaked it in warm water, and came back out. "Here." She turned his head to face her and started to wipe the dry blood off. She was careful to make sure she didn't hurt him. "You deserved it. Never call a woman a hooker unless she actually is one."

Ky sighs and looks back at her group. She turns to the alpha. "If you are to be our ally you will follow my commands!" She snarls and raises her hackles.

"No, I control my pack and you control your people." He retorts

"You don't know the human ways, I do. I am the leader of this rebellion and I, the LEAD rebel, will tell you what to do and you will obey. I tell you where to attack who to send and when. You shall not question my authority or I shall exile you from this land or excicute you. Got it?" She says and steps closer looming over the small alpha.

"I do NOT obey anyone except myself and you are outnumbered." He snarls and his pack forms that treacherous circle around them. "If we have to fight we will do so."

"Enough, Scourge." She snarls. She looks up to see wolves spread out along the ridge around the entire valley and hiding behind trees. He had grown his pack extremely large.

"HOW DO YOU KNOW MY NAME?!" He outbursts.

"We used to be best buds when we were pups. Don't you remember? That she-wolf whom was outcasted? And you did NOTHING to help her even though she pleaded and begged?! WELL LOOK AT ME NOW! I'm better without you or that darned pack!"

Vulcan winces only to tease her. Amelie was so gentle that she could probably perform a surgery without him feeling a pinch. He looks deep into her almost hypnotizing eyes. He had promised that he would tell her everything and he would keep to it. He had to say it some time, so why not directly. "I didn't mean to call you that. And I'm sorry I left. You would have never let me go but now I can't and won't even return there... The first time, in the morning I went to see Kytha. I imagined that she wouldn't be able to hunt and brought her food. Instead of her, however, I came across one of her allies - a shaman of sorts. She told me she used some herbs so the wound would heal faster... The second time I went to get those leaves, for you, but instead got into a fight with Kytha. I'm not wanted anymore but that doesn't mean I'll go crazy on her and try to capture her. I hope you understand and forgive me."

Amelie finished up the cleaning part but Vulcan wanted to have a look on what was underneath the suit. Those were some serious kicks and he just hoped he didn't have anything broken or some internal bleedings. He unzipped the upper part of the Kevlar and looked himself in the mirror. "Damn, those donkeys knew where to kick." There were lividities around his solar plexus, stomach and liver. Vulcan never smoked simply because he often had to work around explosives, but he was a drinker and that had obvious effects, mainly on his liver. And that's why he couldn't stand up. Many people underestimated the importance of this organ.

"You did it again, didn't you." He tapped on the tattooed verse on his chest - his constant luck charm. Vulcan couldn't even count the times it has saved his life, while he on the other hand was quite misusing its service - getting into any trouble that gets in his way.

Hayden gazes angrily at the wolves that had circled them, seeming to attack them. They kept growling, their sharp teeth had almost intimidated him, but he stood his ground. He glanced at Kytha while she showed anger and hatred towards the alpha wolf. "Bad idea, Kytha!" He shouted. Finally, he couldn't just stand there and do nothing, he was daunted by the challenging wolves, so he took his knife and reversed gripped it on his left hand and took the arrow bolt.

He never showed his fury towards the wolves, he kept his stance in a steady standing position with both arms to the side. But if ever a wolf tries to jump over him, it would just be a mere second to see the wolf's throat slit.

Hearing his whole story, Amelie couldn't get mad at him. ~He wanted to help me.~ When she was done she threw the towel in the trash. It would be hard for them to get the blood out so she doubted they would use it again. When he mentioned that there was a fourth member her eyes narrowed and she frowned. "This isn't good. Not good at all." ~She's getting more members. This little group might be a threat after all.~ Hearing him start to unzip his clothing she snapped out of her thoughts. "Wow. They really did a number on you. I feel like we might need a healer out here soon." The government had only found one gifted that could heal people. The poor girl want through so many test to see if they could use her blood to heal instead of her. They found that instead it would make whoever drank it sick, very sick. Amelie had met her once, she was so young. "You should be more careful." She said as she opened her phone and held down 3 for speed dial. "Yes, I think we might need the healer. My partner got himself....in a rough situation." She gave the lady on the other line their information and then hung up. "They should be here tomorrow. Unfortunately the healer is located across the country."

Vulcan tries to stop her from calling for medical attention but his attempts are unsuccessful. When she hangs up he looks at her with an expression of a child that is forced to go to the dentist. "Oh man, Amelie, I don't need a doctor. I'm fine. The bruises from the crash were more severe than this." When he called up the crash he also remembered the wound so he turns his head to look at the stitches on his arm. They had to be removed. Vulcan lifted up his shoulder and bit one end of the string, then untwisted the thread. As expected there was a long thin scar left. On the other hand, it somewhat merged with the snakes head and looked like parts of its scales. "I hate doctors. Whoever is coming will be examining you, not me."

"Who's coming isn't a doctor Vulcan, her gift just has healing capabilities. The only one of our kind that the agency has found. And yes I did call her for me too. We need to get out there again and soon. You mentioned a fourth member in Kytha's group which means she is getting bigger and that is something I can not allow." Watching him pull the stitches out, she flinched. It looked like it hurt. "Besides, I've met her once before, she is sweet, you'll like her."

Vulcan was willing to keep Kytha safe but he didn't want her to start a war between gifted and non-gifted either. Better tell Amelie than being interrogated by the chief later. "When we quarreled Kytha said that they had to be somewhere at sun high. This rebellion is growing faster than we're comfortable with. Perhaps you're right that we need that sweet healer. We have to get back in the field and end this before it has even begun." Pah, those teenagers. Kytha doesn't even know what she's getting herself into. War will break out in the streets, thousands will die and the gifted will be more hunted than ever before. Vulcan turns around and notices the suitcase. "Right..." He sat on the ground next to it and opened the lid, looking inside. "I'm extremely thankful that they disassembled and cleaned up my rifle but couldn't they have returned it in one peace?" He sighed, rubbed his palms and started putting everything back together - all the tiny screws, all the large and small pieces - everything from the barrel to the scope and the stand. Almost an hour later he finally leaned the finished product on the wall and stood up to look at it. "I grew up with this damn rifle."

Amelie rolled her eyes at Vulcan. He wouldn't understand till he met the girl. A screen opened on her watch and she sent a message to the chief asking for reinforcements incase there is more than they can handle. "Well they at least cleaned it." She got up on the bed and leaned up against the wall. As time went on Amelie started to doze off. It wasn't till he started speaking again that she jerked awake. "That's quite amazing. I don't even know where to begin with guns. I've always just relied on my gift. Was it a gift?"

"I'm sorry I woke you up." Vulcan went to Amelie and sat on the bed next to her, still looking at the weapon "I don't know if a kid at the age of ten could be too happy about such a present but I guess I grew fond of it with time. Well, not this particular one - the model. Shoots more than two miles in a straight line through everything - from bulletproof vests to brick walls. Five rounds bolt action. Basically all that you need to know. I can't really rely on my gift alone, only in close quarters." He had to smirk "I still remember how huge it felt then, couldn't properly lift it off the ground. The recoil kicked so hard on my shoulder that my mentor had to hold me in one place when shooting, most often just stepping on my back."

"It's ok. I shouldn't sleep too much anyway." She shifted around to lean her head against his shoulder. "A lot of children these days learn to weild weapons." She smiled picturing him as a kid trying to lift it. "Now I wish I could have seen that. A little Vulcan running around with guns." She started thinking about her brother and when they were that age. A lot of it was spent in their room playing with what they could. Amelie's father kept her pretty sheltered after he found out about her being gifted.

Vulcan felt so relaxed and pleased when Amelie set her head on his shoulder. He laid on the bed, leaning his back on the headboard and the pillow, making it comfortable for both of them. Then he took her hand in his, gently massaging her knuckles with his thumb. "My childhood was a complete mess. Basically non-existent. In these past days I've smiled sincerely more than in my entire life. You were one of the reasons for that... Why don't you tell me about yourself? I don't know much besides the existence of your little brother."
