Faraine was thankful for the willingness of the group to go with her suggestion, Ciaran even sprucing up the potentially mundane trip with a challenge for the pair. The bounty hunter didn't exactly care about the herbology of this place, but if it meant that there'd be some friendly competition, and an easy excuse for her to attempt to find the villages from her vision, she'd be perfectly fine with joining in on the competition.

She watched her much smaller companions bouncing with excitement, willing her to scoff gently, "Prepare to lose.." A taunting jab, thrown out as a last word before turning towards the foliage behind her. Once the ragtag team had begun to distance themselves from herself and Ciaran, Faraine looked down at the healer.

"Clever use of persuasion, there.." She hummed, a satisfied smirk lifting her features before she unsheathed her sword and held it in front of her. She decided to use the finely crafted metal to push away the plant life in front of her, unsure of what is safe to touch. Her gaze continued to peer into the forest, noticing that the sun still provided plenty of light for them to walk with high visibility.

Holding the lush greenery up to form a path, golden eyes looked downward to the head of ginger hair beside her, "After you, then." The woman remembered that he was not exactly the most heroic on the boat, before the Kraken. However, she wondered if the harrowing experience would allow him to bravely be the first to enter the unknown lands. She wouldn't blame him if he'd rather her be the first, but she decided to continue, "I don't see any visible threats, but keep your guard up. We're not alone on this island."

What sounded comforting to her, potentially came off quite ominous to anyone listening. She didn't see it that way, though, so neither should the beastkind beside her.

Watching the scene unfold before her was like the stories her father would tell her before bed. Heroes using their wits and pure spirits to push their way out of the clutches of evil. It left her silently watching, tired eyes wide with amazement. Even the woman who she tried to join came to the fray! Being awe-struck left no room for her former anxiety and insecurities. Instead, she let her mind escape reality and simply watch her new friends convince the guards to let her go.

The young alchemist was caught up in her own thoughts, only coming back down to earth once she heard the guard command her release. Matheus was quick to turn to her, his voice much less.. performative than a few moments prior.

"Now Maeve, let's get back on the road, shall we?" Comforting words of reassurance willed more tears to fall down her cheeks, making her laugh in relief. Maeve's overwhelming sense of dread falling off her shoulders made her blind to the visible discomfort Matheus felt, “Now now, you can stop crying, be strong, we still have a long way ahead of us.” Two words hung onto her psyche, however..

Be strong.

Maeve nodded, sniffling quickly before responding to the merchant, "S-sorry.. I will."

Prior to being a target for a rather ominous organization, Maeve knew that she held great strengths.. but if the past 48 hours told her anything, it was that she was weak in the ways that mattered to her now. Her savings would eventually dwindle, and even though she considers these people her friends, even she knows that without money, they will not feel the same.

Cynical thoughts contrasted Cecil's reassurance, "We'll have your back Mae. On top of that I suppose we get your wish of being with those people you wanted to join earlier." Once the silver-haired woman cut the rope binding the fairy's wrists, Maeve sighed in relief, shaking off the ache in her wrists that begun to bloom. Her relief was short-lived, as she was scooped up by Cecil.

Maeve scoffed, letting out an exasperated laugh, "I think I can handle the walk to the carriage, Cecil!" Her insistent words fell upon deaf ears, as the much larger bounty hunter continued, eventually turning to speak to the very distinguished looking woman who helped aid them. Maeve's gaze followed Cecil's as she spoke up,

"I knew you were the right person to follow!" The fairy was smiling now, as if she were some genius that knew that this Guildmaster would be an ally in the end. "Thank you for your help."

Yamato Nadeshiko & Hilda Thorvald
Location: Tavern, Altair

As the elf had left to get the drinks, the hooded girl has made her leave. Hilda made sure to keep a good eye on her without making it obvious as she walked out. "Yama..." She spoke after she looked back at them "When were done here, let's follow that girl that had just left. Something's nagging me that she looked like a certain person on the wanted posters plastered around the city." Hearing all of that, Yamato asked "You think so? Are you intending to pursue her and take her to the authorities for the bounty? Or...?" Hilda did not utter a word for answer, but she knew what Yamato was thinking of.

"Actually, don't bother answering it for me. I know what you're thinking but don't need to spoil it out, okay?" They said just as the elf came back with the drinks. "Ah~ Thank you, honey." Yamato said as the elf left once more to get the rest of the food. Yamato took two sugar cubes and put them into their coffee. They stirred it before they blew off the hot steam to cool the drink a bit before taking a sip while Hilda took a swig of the beer. "This beer is weak." She said slightly disappointed before taking another chug right as the elf came back with the food along with a little extra for something that Hilda can appreciate, and indeed she did.

Hilda has started to like the elven girl.

When the elf asked if there is something that the two needed, Hilda said "Girl, what is your name?" She then took a bite out of the chicken leg while Yamato enjoys their salad.

Elora immediately responded to Miss Hildy "Elora. Most people call me El." The Elf was happy that the woman had already went for the leg, this told her that it was appreciated and made El feel a bit warm and fuzzy inside. This is what she thrived for, to make customers happy and serve them the best she possibly could. Kindness always goes a long way...Many should do the same...Too bad the world is cruel in its own way and most kindness comes with a price. She thought before turning her attention to the both of them once again "I hope everything is to your liking, and if you both like missions or anything of the sort, you can always go up to our board." Gesturing toward the said-board that sat by the front door that had multiple postings on it, she continued to speak "Granted, we aren't a guild but we do have a bulletin just in case you didn't feel like taking the walk or perhaps just felt like gabbing a quick adventure." The Braze'n'Bold liked to attract those mercenaries the most, which is why the board had been invented. Not only could they could get their grub, but they can get their missions and rewards as well.

There was not much else that the elf could really provide other than the services provided to the two customers at the time. But she decided to at least make small conversation "I know that you're both are not regulars here, given a few hints towards that. What brings you here to Altair if you're visiting?" Granted there were always new and old faces, but there were times that she'd like to know the backgrounds of her customers. Hear the different stories and adventures they may have been through, or what brought them to the main capitol where all races alike had gathered to live as one.

"Elora, that's a very lovely name you got. Your parents must have loved you very much." Yamato complimented as they went for another bite of their salad. "A word of advice, El." Hilda spoke "Being kind to others can be a good thing, but be very wary on whom you give it to. You never know that the person you've helped may actually be a scum of this earth. It's a rarity to find actual good people who are very much selfless even at their own expense. It's okay to help out people, so long as you know how to help yourself. Besides, how can you be so kind to others if you can't be kind to yourself? You'd be already dead by then."

"Alright, Hildy, that's enough. You're scaring El right here with your advice." Yamato said and Hilda decided to stay quiet and focus on her meal. As they ate, El mentioned about a board that they can take quests from after they have their fill. They'll be probably needing that a later time. El then later asked what brought them to Altair. "What have brought us here? Well..." Yamato had begun to spoke "Are you aware of this so called "Unknown Territory"? I've heard a lot of stuff about that place and the many adventurers who had dared ventured into it. However, none of them had returned to tell their tales though there are some rumors that some have founded their way back to tell all. You see, me and my partner here have intended to go there, but we can't just go into that place willy-nilly. Oh no, we needed to be ready. As of right now, we are taking jobs to buy supplies for the long trip, but most importantly, we needed people who can accompany us there. There is only one criteria that needs to be fulfilled though when it comes to recruiting, and that is if they have a dream. Yes, really. If they have a dream that they wished to fulfill, then they are most qualified to join us. I don't mind if they know how to fight or use magic, so long as they can help in anyway, then that is very much appreciated."

Yamato paused for a moment as they have realized something. "Oh what am I saying? I've spoken too much that I must have forgotten to introduce ourselves. My name is Yamato and she is Hilda. You can call her "Hildy" if you wish." They said and the last part got Hilda very irritated. Yamato would then ask "El, have you ever thought about going into the Unknown Territory?"

Oh little does this person know. She thought, giving that same warm smile. She was the princess of the family and she was treated as such despite working for a tavern of her own accord. Hildy then began to lecture her about her kindness and this made her raise an eyebrow. Over a piece of chicken leg? I mean...I didn't think a chicken leg was that bad to be kind with. It's just food. If it was something else I would have thought more about it. It honestly was beginning to feel as if she was being treated like a child and despite her very innocent looks, it's not that she was completely stupid and blind to what the world is at her current age. She was raised by her father and around her brothers, she knew things despite not looking like it. The Elf almost puffed up her cheeks and let out a grunt but she refrained from doing so. Yamato began to explain about the Unknown and how they were trying to get supplies for the long trip and needed people to accompany them. Of course she was one of the few that stayed behind but she was more than willing to go adventuring with them to the territory, it was just a matter of if her overprotective father would let her go without his eye watching over her and swooping in to save the day at any given moment.

Yamato introduced themselves as well as introduced Hilda. With a slight bow of her head, she parted her lips to speak "Oh yes I have thought about it personally. A few boats managed to get two groups to head there just a few days ag-" Immediately someone began to yell throughout the tavern, and the Elf lifted her gaze and shifted it over to see someone by the board putting up a new page. Of course it was another bounty, though this one seemed to be on the higher end of the scale and for sure would disappear at a moments notice. But then silence followed and Elora knew right away things were getting tense. Then before she knew it, there was already a brawl busting out between a woman and the knights. Now this alone was already bad because more elites were involved. It wasn't the typical tavern fights she'd see almost daily towards the afternoon. In fact, look at that, there was already blood spilling on the floor. I guess I'm gonna have to clean that up... Thought the waitress.

Golden eyes watched as this girl single handedly took care of each Knight with her own abilities, even if it did end in their demise. The girl examined those within the tavern, and soon gathered everything that the man originally came with and rushed out. "She's gonna be wanted for murder even more." Said Elora while keeping her gaze away from the pair she had been serving and looking over at the bodies, sadness slowly creeping up on her. These men in her eyes were killed for a reason unknown and couldn't help but at least feel a bit of pity... They were here to arrest the girl and she resorted to death immediately "We're going to have to close up the Braze'n'Bold. We can't have our customers eating with dead bodies on the darn ground." Turning her head to the pair at the table, she continued "You both could always come back later. We should have everything cleared up by then. I do apologize for the inconvenience...However if you can stomach eating around them, go for it and finish up."

Elora looked at the other waitress who stared back and giving a little nod, she began to clean up dishes that were left and began talking with each customer she rolled up on. "Yamato, Hildy, I appreciate meeting you both. Maybe when you do embark on your ride to the Unknown I could join." Looking over her shoulder, she gave them a sad smile "I'll be around if you need anything else." She was going to have to get the official knights to the tavern to investigate and then retrieve the bodies. That part wouldn't be the hardest.

Luca's patience was wearing thin. The only thing stopping him from pulling the trigger was the shred of humanity he still had left. He did not take fondly to her insults, especially since she was somebody he greatly distrusted. Rina certainly didn't help with his mental state. Luca narrowed his eyes at Kalmia, examining her. Most of his experiences were with humans. Non-human always seemed foreign to him, even if they lived in Altair. Before Luca could speak up, Nita had interjected her opinion. Luca was almost surprised that somebody agreed with him for once. Despite her agreement with him, he still felt dissatisfied. The issue wasn't solved but due to Rina's insistence, he gave up.

"If you insist on trusting this nuisance, then so be it. If she harms anybody on this mission you will receive the same punishment as her." Luca spoke coldly, eyeing the two before holstering his flintlock and turning away from the situation. He moved away from the pair, gripping his hands behind his back in anger. He was determined to get some useful scientific data from this expedition at any cost. He wasn't going to risk it over some nobody. After moving some paces away, he found a good spot on the beach to kneel. Despite his feelings of frustration, he was still able to focus on his intended purpose for being here. Studying the differences between this continent and the one that Altair sat on was his primary goal. Relphia wasn't that diverse in it's geologic composition, so he was hoping to study some new phenomena.

He grabbed a container from a pouch that he kept on his side. He unscrewed the top, revealing that the container was empty. Luca filled it with the sand, closing it up once he was satisfied he had a large enough sample. He didn't have the tools to study it now, the proper tools residing back at his home in Altair. Most of his research would be conducted back at home. His main goal for now was to observe and to report. If everything went smoothly, he'd be able to accomplish that. After collecting the sample, he stood up, wiping the sand off of his pants. He glanced back at the pair, scoffing before moving further away. If they were moving supplies onto the beach, he wanted to make sure nobody messed with his belongings.

So it seemed that El had always thought about going to the UNknown Territory. That is all the reason Yamato needs to consider recruiting her to their cause, regardless if she knows how to fight or not. But then, a bunch of knights stormed into the tavern and already HIlda got very mad, not bothering with their announcement. "What's the big fucking deal?! Can't you see we're having a nice fucking feast here, you fucking tinmen-!" Her scathing rant suddenly got interrupted when the hooded woman started attacking knights and killed most of them save one who would then run away out of fear.

The scuffle has left a pile of corpses and blood on the floorboards and HIlda was frantically eating her meal a she had watch the hooded woman massacred the knights out of cold blood. On the flip side, Yamato calmly watched the bloody spectacle, observing the way the hooded woman fought. They knew that what she did was completely unnecessary. They could have butted in, but then again they would have lose their chance in recruiting her. When all is done, the hooded woman had left the tavern, blood stains and all. At that point, Yamato and Hilda would have finished their meal just as El announced the tavern's sudden closing.

She would then say to the two that she appreciated meeting them and when they'll embark to the Unknown Territory she will join...if she could. Yamato could see sadness in her smile. It seemed that something was holding her back from going on a potentially dangerous journey. "It's alright now, El. We'll just leave the payment here. The food you served was delicious and we could definitely come back here. Anyway, we shall take our leave." Yamato spoke as they leave the payment on the table and they and Hilda make their exit.

When they got far enough from the tavern, Hilda spoke "So, what you think we should do now? Get a new job or something?" Yamato turned to her and said "Let's follow the woman and see what's she is up to." Hilda then asked "You thinking were gonna go after her bounty or...?" Yamato would reply that with "Nope, something else. Come on, she shouldn't be far from this distance." And so they begin to find the hooded woman.

Yamato and Hilda were already hot on the hooded woman's trail as the rain cleansed her off the blood. Yamato had their parasol up to shield them from the rain. When the hooded woman entered what appeared to be a weapons shop, Yamato and Hilda hid themselves from the corner for a while until their target exited the shop and they followed her once more.

It was then that the hooded woman had started to suspect that she was being pursued, and so she made various turns to avoid her stalkers. "Shit, it seems she's find out." Hilda quietly said. "Keep following. She'll surely run into a corner very soon. That or she'll reach her destination in no time." Yamato replied as they hasten their movement in order to not lose her.

Logi Laeblom

Location: Unknown lands

Logi floated about the interaction, hanging a few feet back. Her knives were unecessary in this altercation. Smoky irises took in the new arrival. Pale, porcelain skin, well kept clothes, silky flowing hair. "This is no oor bampot." Logi flit forward and darted around the stranger, taking in her full profile. A fairy... Logi mused, noting the wings tucked to the other fairies back. Though that was no surprise, the woman's appearence screamed fairy even without the wings. Emerald green freckles were either a fairy birthing pattern or a really peculiar choice of tattoo.

"Take a gander at 'er bloddy duds. Either she's fae Altair, or the locals hae a richt fancy fer fine silks." Logi popped down to her feet and grabbed the flowing cloth at the end of the gown and felt it between red tipped fingers. "Ye better 'ope ye hae a change o' claes. This bonnie thing'll dae ya nae guid in the unexplored lands." She dropped the fabric. "Bows a fine bit o' wark, though. 'Least ye're armed." She meant it too. The other fairy rubbed Logi the wrong way. Just the way she presented herself reminded Logi of the snake pit that was fathers business, but the fact the posh fairy atleast had a paddle in the metaphorical creek of shit she found herself in put Logi's mind at ease.

Logi side eyed Luca as he sulked off. "Ah actually agree wi' the drookit blanket. Juist cos she's tellin' the truth disnae mean we shuid trust 'er. Oughta' hae sem-folk keepin' an e'e on 'er. 'Til we figure oot 'er deal-" Logi gave the woman another once over. "'er 'OLE deal." She spat in the sand beside her, then sauntered over to the treeline, kneeling to inspect the strange fauna around her. A yellow capped mushroom, wide and hiding in the shade caught her attention. "Ah cuid take the lass on a wee scootin' trip. See 'ow she does." Logi turned her head to address Kalmia. "if yer up fee it, miss courtesan." The sentence was a challenge, issued with playful and almost mocking tone. Logi was almost certain the parsnikity woman would shy away from the challenge. "Need a third though, Nita's wee rule 's a guid yin tae follow." Logi stood, looking about the group for volenteers.

The hooded woman started to move faster and despite taking some very sharp turns, Yamato and Hilda were able to follow her thoroughly. It was then that they ended up in a fork that things had become difficult. "Shit, where did that bitch went?" Hilda asked. "I'd say we split up. I'll take the right, you take the left." Yamato said and then they went for the right path before Hilda could say anything to them. She sighed before she went to the left path, eventually coming up to a dead end corner where there is a dwelling nearby.

Hilda would soon took notice of some lump that looked like a person sleeping. Perhaps that this was the woman that they were following? Why would she settle in a small simple shack? Hilda slowly approached the dwelling. making sure not to disturb the person. "I really have a bad feeling about this..." She thought to herself before she finally got near to the "woman" and placed her hand on her shoulder.

"Shit!"
Hilda got caught very badly when the hooded woman had held her at dagger point. She even got disarmed at the process. Hilda grinded her teeth as she was being moved to face the entrance of the alleyway. "How should I know? That damn Yama knows more than I do. They think it was a good idea to stalk you because they were actually looking forward to-" Her suddenly got cut when the hooded woman made her get down on all fours. This got her greatly angry.

"YOU FUCKING BITCH! I'LL FUCKING TEAR YOUR HEAD OFF- AGH!!!" The hooded woman began to beat down Hilda on the head multiple times, all while she gave her a scathing lecture that infuriates her more. When all was done, the hooded woman asked once more why they were following her. Hilda, with all of her pent up rage, rather than saying their intentions, said to her "...Fuck you-"

"Enough!" A familiar voice echoed throughout the area, one that Hilda was familiar of. She looked at the entrance way and saw Yamato standing across them. "Yama?! Since when did you got here?" Hilda asked. "Well, remember what I've said about splitting up? Let's just say that my guts told me not to follow through it and went the same way as you did. I couldn't help leave my partner alone." Yamato answered. "Yama, you fucking idiot!" Hilda yelled, not that Yamato would mind. "Anyway, you there. You must be the woman from the wanted posters, right? I think your name was Rohen, I believe." Yamato said "Listen, I know what we did is wrong, stalking you and all. We aren't actually planning to turn you in. In fact, it's something else entirely. But first off, I would like to request for you to let go of my partner. Clearly you did a number on her and I don't like that."

"Well that's reassuring." He said genuinely in response towards Val, before turning towards Ciaran. "Well Ciaran, If you need someone to test one of these herbs, let me know. I still technically owe you one." He said referring to the time Ciaran helped with Nesta's wound back when the Kraken attacked. He was lucky that this group of people all had some sort of skills outside of fighting, especially healing. Their survivability rate its pretty much stable at this point. Things can only get worse from this point on. Their optimism was almost contagious, however. He somewhat that, what else could be worst than facing a Kraken head one and eat its remains for chow. But the truth of the matter is this island had many unknowns. Which is why they were here today. We're gonna need to document everything. Could use sale off the information we gather here.

He looked between Ciaran and Val as the two of them sort of agreed to enter a foraging match between each other. He sort of frowned at the idea of it and wished they took this a bit more seriously then making a game out of it. There's no telling what lies in this territory, and he rather they focus on their survival than this game. But it was happening nonetheless. He simply sighed and looked over at Nesta simply shaking his head. He decided to keep his words to himself rather than saying anything. He followed alone with Val and Carlisle, keeping his sheathed sword in hand. As he walked through the forest his head would be on a constant swivel looking for anything that could be perceived as a threat. He would use his sheathe to move the foliage out of his way. "So...Valorie. How long have you been studying plant life?" He asked trying to grasp just how experienced she is at this subject. Can't afford many mistakes at the beginning of their quest.

Rohen had let Hilda go, even kicking her back her axe. She she got up, picked her weapon up and gave Rohen a death glare as she went to Yamato's side. "Thank you, Miss Rohen." They thanked before they say their proposition "I'm not going to sugar coat it, so let's just get to the chase. Me and my partner here are looking for people to recruit. We plan to head on over to the Unknown in search for some...treasures. I heard that the treasure is so vast that you can live your entire life of luxury without working a single day. Of course those are just some rumors, but as adventurers, we are more than willing to bet our lives to find out if it is true or not. I'm sure you are also aware of what happens to those who ventured into the Unknown, but I can assure to you that we can come back home safe and sound. We were following you because we felt that you have what it takes to accompany us to the Unknown. If you do so wish, then we can assure that your crimes be pardoned...if they can accept of course. But if you don't want to, then, let's just say we needed more money to buy supplies and your bounty will provide us with that. So...what's it going to be, hmm?"

The mentioned of treasure is surely just rumors, then again, nobody knows if it is true or not. Yamato explained their intentions well with conviction. But how convincing their words will depend if Rohen would believe them or not. Or rather, if she really has thoughts about going to the Unknown if that could benefit her current situation.

"I see. You know, I wouldn't wanted to turn you in. That would be a waste of your talents if thrown into the slammer. Tell you what though; how about we help you out on your mission? Think of it as an apology for invading your personal space. If it goes smoothly, then perhaps you can consider joining us then. If not, well, we'll just leave you alone. How about that?" Yamato offered, really not willing to let go of Rohen just yet, much to Hilda's annoyance.

"Yama, are you seriously wanting to recruit this bitch after what she's done to me? You seriously need to have your brain checked. Just how is it important for you to get there anyway?"
Hilda thought, having doubts about her partner's intentions to go into the Unknown. Is the promise of getting her revenge possible once they find what they needed there?

Rhada held up her hands in acceptance as the other strangers from the adjacent wagon thanked her. "Of course, my dears," she retorted, approaching so she could talk more quietly. "I recognize you now that others said it, Miss Thistlebottom. I believe we are... Oh, how do the old mercenaries say it? 'United against a common foe'? I suspect we would all benefit from your escape, by sending a little message that they cannot have everything they want."

"Master Rhada! We need to move the wagons!" one of the attendants urged.

Glancing back to her caravan, she gestured with one finger for them to wait a moment. "I claimed you were part of my caravan, so I shall let you fall in line betwixt my carriage and rear guard. After that, whether you stay with us or go ahead is the choice of you and your company, Mr. Clearhart. Do listen carefully to your guard's opinion," With a graceful nod, she returned to her caravan. "Pause and make room for them," she ordered the rear wagon's driver. As soon as the guildmaster stepped into her carriage, the first three vehicles pulled forward. The driver of the fourth, however, motioned for Matheus to proceed as planned.

With things finally settled down added with Cecil’s antics and Maeve’s safety, it seems there is no need to keep his guard up for a little longer, sighing in relief before he finally grasped on to reality, the fact that this Elven Woman knows his identity is questionable but being in debt to her, Matheus Is still yet to repay her for her help during Maeve’s rescue, he turned to Rhada and bowed slightly, introducing himself formally despite her knowledge of his identity “I don’t know how you got my identity but, thank you for your help, My name is Matheus Klein Clearhart and I must say, you are well informed, most impressive, as expected of the Head of the Enchanter’s Guild” with the addition of a compliment, Matheus now begins to wonder what he got himself into, what was supposed to be a trip to Astrine now involved a large guild and a criminal syndicate.

Matheus quickly briefed Rhada of his destination and future plans together with Maeve and Ceccil on their venture towards Astrine “Me and my friends here are on our way to Astrine and through the enchanted forest, if I assume that we have the same destination, It would be wise for us to band together so I will accept the offer to be a part of your caravan, I also expect these two would agree as well” he looked at both Maeve and Cecil hoping they would agree to be a part of the caravan as this would be a much more safer way to travel “I am yet to thank you properly, so as for now, you have my services as an alchemist, I can assure you I’ll be of help” offering his services without any additional costs and possibly for free until he gets to properly thank Rhada. Matheus returned to his wagon to prepare for departure, he will proceed into his position in the caravan once they depart. This will be no normal trip and Matheus already accepted that fact, more preparations are required if he even wanted a certain chance in surviving whatever may come their way.

Yamato smiled once Rohen gave them permission to help her with her quest. It just a matter of a few more steps and she'll be part of their ever growing crew. However, for this case, she'll be the one leading. "Why of course. We have nothing to object to that." They said, much to Hilda's dismay. Rohen would go on ahead out of the alleyway, expecting them to follow in her footsteps. Yamato and HIlda would follow along.

As they walk, Yamato said "By the way, we forgot to mention our names. I'm Yamato Nadeshiko and my partner here is Hilda Thorvald. As you may have guessed, we are foreigners. We make a living taking on quests to the highest commissioner. Though we also take quests that are free of rewards depending on how dire the commissioner's situation are. You could say our only reward for those is good karma. Um...if you don't mind me asking; what got you into adventuring?" It seemed that their trying to strike up a good conversation. Whether or not Rohen would answer is all up to her.

With the situation de-escalating, Nita sheathed her blades. Luca had stormed off, clearly dissatisfied with the outcome of the argument. It left her standing alongside Rina and the newcomer. "I have seen many men like him," he stated warily, her cold eyes fixed on the captain's back as he faded into a mere shape on the beach. "'Men of science'... They claim to be rational, bright minds, yet somehow most of them head down a dark path of taboo. I will keep an eye on him in the coming days." Even if she did appreciate his resolve, she clearly placed the vast majority's best interests above one man's grand achievement.

Looking past the heavily distorted Common, Nita could see Logic had similar thoughts on Kalmia—let her build trust through her actions. She nodded in agreement with the saucy fairy, who observed what the knightess called "the rule of three’. This method was simply something she devised using data she gleaned from the ghost pirate attack. There were seemingly infinite reasons it would be best to have two people watching one's back.

"Tourists", Rohen said. Surely Yamato and Hilda aren't the ones who just happened to go sightseeing. Either way, Rohen would tell her background, how she got betrayed by a noble commissioner and the hell she had to get through to escape, leading her to become a fugitive of a crime she was framed. "Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that." Yamato said sympathetically "It must have been really hard to be on the run from authorities. Why would they deceive you like that? A young aspiring soul like you shouldn't be subjected to such foul play. Hmm, now I'm starting to consider helping you with your vengeance, but that will come at another time."

It seemed that the group are following along a canal. Are they heading for some sewers perhaps? Along the way, Rohen would ask if they have done any killing. Yamato was a bit surprised to be asked such. "For me, I only kill those who deserve it." They said "Rarely I do take lives in the context that most of my kills are those who are considered scum. Trust me when I say, and Hilda knows about this, that before I've met her, I had run-ins with evil doers of some kind. I'm talking about thieves, bandits, assassins, mercenaries, pillagers, those kinds. All of them fell under my blade before they could even react. You could say that I'm just WAY too fast to give them a chance to fight. No, they had it coming."

They glanced over to Hilda with the expectation that she answers Rohen's question. Hilda sighed. She doesn't want to talk about her bloody past, but it seemed that if she were to gain Rohen's trust, she might as well tell her story. "...I've killed a lot of Banished." She begins to speak in a dark tone "I was born in an exiled village in Whitshell, which settled dangerously next to the Banished lands. Like you, I had a group of friends, along with a LOT of siblings. But then, the Banished attacked and my friends and family were all slain by them. I was the only one left. In my rage I have killed lot of Banished. I believed I have killed about a hundred or so until I've passed out. Ever since then, I have grown an absolute hatred for those black magic using scumbags. It was this desire to get them back is what Yama here decided to be my partner. OUT OF FUCKING SYMPATHY OF COURSE."

"To be fair, when you were taken back to the capital, you started attacking people thinking that they're Banished. I really had to stop you before you take an entire city out. Did you know how many holes you punched through walls with those tiny fists of yours? You even lifted up an entire fruit stand and threw it! You're lucky your capital's laws are different from Altair's, otherwise you would have been the same criminal as Rohen here." Yamato exclaimed, much to Hilda's annoyance, to which she said "Oh shut your trap, twinky. It's not like I needed your sympathy anyway. Besides, you promised me that there would be something in the Unknown that could help me get back at the Banished. And I'm sure you're gonna do the same with her situation."

"I assure to you both that your vengeance will be met. For now though, we need to focus on the mission at hand." Yamato assured and then they asked "Speaking of which; Rohen, what's the job anyway? Care to explain, hmm?"

The missions turns out to be a cult investigation. Seemed simple enough. Another part of the mission is about the steadily disappearing women, possibly related to this cult. After some time of walking, the group would end up in a waterway right in front of the gate where Rohen opened up and went inside. Yamato and Hilda followed suit.

"Damn this place reeks." Hilda said, already not liking the stench of the sewers. "Well, what do you expect? All stools flow through here after all." Yamato replied. "Whatever. Still, I'm surprised that some cult could be found here. I mean, where else would they do their rituals without being spotted?" Hilda spoke. "Rohen, you got any idea about this cult? What do they do and who is leading it?" Yamato asked.

Cecil didn't say much after her previous words, she just remained quiet and alert with ears moving now and again. The woman drew closer but Cecil didn't sense any ill intent, especially as she spoke much like a royal. Royal blood? Maybe part Elven? Most Elves and Royals speak like that... No wonder she has a large fleet protecting her. Looking at those behind her for just a moment, her gaze shifted back while everything started to take motion. Might as well take what they can get right about now "Yeah I agree, for now. My job is to keep this one safe." The Beastwoman nodded towards Mae before climbing onto the wagon. The rain wasn't forgiving and since she had no longer had her jacket on, the cold droplets were landing upon her shoulders. Knowing that she'd be leaving her sister in Altair, it left a bit of guilt in her heart. But deep down, she knew that Ki was strong, can fight just as effectively and can even surpass Cel without knowing. Cel had her faults, which prevented her from possibly improving more.

Crawling into the back of the wagon, she looked around and carefully adjusted some things and balanced them accordingly to avoid any spills, cracks, or more. Just to at least give someone a space to chill out in the back to nap or dry off. "I moved some things here for you Mae if you wanna go back to bed." Moving back to the front, she took her spot and gently nudged the Fairy "From here on out you should be able to sleep peacefully since we're part of this fleet." Looking forward at the carriage in front of them, she felt that just maybe Mae would benefit from being in the same carriage as the woman. Though at the same time, she'd have to be on top of her to keep her safe as a body guard. Well, Mae can give the order whenever and however she wants to be protected. She was the boss after all if she was being too close.

"I see. That's pretty concerning to be quite honest." Yamato said. So not even Rohen knew what's the deal with the cult. They would come across a wooden to which Rohen opened to reveal what appeared to be a corridor with torches. Going further reveals to be a dungeon with jail cells. It appeared that they have reached their destination. Yamato and Hilda took note of their surroundings, especially the crystalline formations at some corners. They would then hear some murmurs. Rohen ordered the two to lay low and quiet as they went over to the source of the voices.

Rohen would slightly open the door to see some Banished. Rohen would tell Yamato and Hilda to clear the room along with her, mentioning the Banished. This caused the latter to become agitated. Yamato, sensing that Hilda might go wild, said "Hildy, control yourself. We wouldn't want your rampage to level the entire city now." But Hilda was very eager to let out her rage against them. Eventually, Rohen kicked open the door and took down three of the five Banished. Hilda would follow suit as she threw her axe on the other Banished and struck them in the head. This left one last Banished alive, but before they could do anything however, Yamato had swiftly entered the room and went passed the remaining Banished at a blink of an eye, their katana partially off its sheath.

When they fully sheathed their katana, the Banished's head flew off followed by a fountain of blood as their body collapsed right as their head landed on the floor. Yamato had already cut off their head before they could realize it. Hilda was very surprised on how fast Yamato took out that Banished before she could blink. "Yama, did you use some sort of speed magic?" Hilda asked as she removed her axe from the Banished's head. "Nope. No magic, just from training." Yamato answered. "I call it bullshit." Hilda replied bluntly, to which Yamato gave a rather sly smile in response.

Yamato felt glad after being complimented bu Rohen. After all, they were trained at a very young age to wield the sword for all of their life, emulating just like their father would. Hilda on the other hand isn't much. She just wanted to throw some frustration out of her chest after being told to control herself. Really, she wanted to go wild at the sight of the Banished. "I'm glad you've said it, Rohen. You too as well, throwing daggers and the way you took down that Banished before they could even do anything. It is as if you knew that would use magic from the beginning, so you decided to kill them off as fast as possible." Yamato said.

The Banished seemed to be wearing knights' armor under a noble house. Strange, really. Yamato and Hilda would follow Rohen forward, expecting more of them to come. Perfect because Hilda really needs to vent out her deep seated hatred for them, but Yamato needs to keep a good eye on her before she goes off to another rampage.

"Drills? Well, that makes kind of sense." Yamato said in response before they moved forward. They would stumble upon a divided path; one that leads to the upper level and the other in the same level forward. Both paths had an eerie and unnerving miasma in them, a sign of Banished presence. Rohen said to them that they'll need to split up in order for both rooms to be cleared and to prevent one room from alerting the other. She'll be taking the lower room while Yamato and Hilda will take the upper room.

"Alright then. Best of luck." Yamato said and they and Hilda went up the stairs until they got to the door. They begun to wait for Rohen's signal to bust through in sync so they can proceed with the room clearing.
