The Way Back Home

Jaison Daniels

Blushing at the kiss on the cheek, Jaison followed Alex out of his room and closed the door. Heading downstairs, he could hear the gentle clang of a spoon against a bowl, and some fussing in the cupboard under the stairs. Walking Alex to the door, Jaison opened it and smiled, "I'll see you in.." his eyes moved to the clock. "Two hours" he chuckled, uncertain of how to say goodbye.. a handshake? A hug? Jaison opted for the brief hug and glanced behind him to see Gran, grinning happily.

Cynthia Daniels

"Leaving so soon sweet boy?" she asked, shuffling slowly toward Jaison and Alex. Her Grandson resting an arm around her shoulders, "I do hope we see you later. I have a gift for you.. a welcome home present" the older woman smiled, tugging Alex close and pressing a kiss to his cheek. Cynthia turned to head to the kitchen, giving Jaison's side a squeeze, "I'll put on some tea" she said.

Harley Thompson

The house was silent. Strangely silent. Sitting up in bed, Harley yawned and clambered out from the mound of her quilt. Her bare feet slapped gently against the floor of her room, and the hallway as she made way to Alex's room. "Yo, you up?" she called pushing open the door. Empty... typical. Harley sighed and headed downstairs, hungry for anything she could find.

Alex Thompson

Alex smiled at Gran and nodded his head enthusiastically. "You'll definitely see me later. Hopefully," he added, casting a glance in Jaison's direction. "I'll see you in a bit," he said, turning to Jaison and giving him one last peck on the cheek before walking outside and continuing the relatively short journey back to his house. It was still relatively early, at least in Alex's book. Back in New York, his job as a bartender required him to work odd hours. Most of the time, he was asleep until 2 or 3 in the afternoon. So to him, 9 AM was pretty early. He yawned and scratched the back of his neck, walking lazily. He wasn't too concerned about hurrying home. He never took that long to get ready, one of his many talents. He supposed he should hurry home to Harley though, to let her know he wasn't dead in a ditch somewhere. Although, he doubted she was too worried. Back in his high school days, he would often stay out all night. She was probably used to his night time disappearances by now. As he walked towards his house, his mind wandered to what would happen if he was kidnapped. How long would it take for someone to notice he was missing? This scenario seemed to successfully occupy his thoughts because before he knew it, he was standing in front of the door to his house. He knocked on the door, yelling for Harley to open the door.

Amanda Daniels

Amanda finished eating her cereal as Alex left the house. She considered going to say goodbye to him, but she figured she would see him again later, so there would be no point. She stood from the dining table, her chair scrapping against the floor. Her sock covered feet padded softly across the floor to the sink as she dumped her dirty spoon and bowl amidst the other dirty dishes, then headed towards the stairs to get dressed.

[Happy New Year btw! Hope this year is filled with success and happiness for you :) ]

Cynthia Daniels

The older woman headed into the kitchen and filled the kettle with water, before grabbing a cup for Jaison. Cynthia turned and smiled across at Amanda, hearing the door close. "What are you up to today, Amanda?" she asked.

Jaison Daniels

Closing the door, he lingered there for a moment, smiling to himself. Things were going great.. for once. Jaison headed into the kitchen kissing Gran on the cheek for starting the kettle. He made himself a cup of vanilla tea, then some porridge and took a seat at the table. He ate in silence, ignoring whatever conversation was going on between Gran and Amanda. Jaison was lost in thought, mind dancing with excitement and still a hint of worry. It was something he couldn't help, he worried. What if Alex and him struggled to find conversation? What if the weather went rubbish and they spent half the time trying to find shelter? All what ifs, he had to stop leaning on those. It was going to go well.. he'd make sure of it. Jaison's mind continued to wander, as he thought about what he knew about Alex, he wondered what there was that was new to him. Other than his appearance.

Harley Thompson

Half way to the kitchen, there was a knock on the door followed by Alex's voice. Harley sighed and turned back, unlocking the door and opening it. "I'm sorry sir, we don't take in dirty stop outs" she teased, heading back in the direction of the kitchen. Harley glanced over her shoulder with a cheeky smile, "Jaison good in bed then? Or is that why you came back? Was he bad?" she laughed and went into the kitchen, staring into the fridge to decide what she wanted to eat.

Amanda Daniels

Amanda stopped and padded back into the kitchen. "I don't know Gram. You know I'm not very social. I might go for a walk in the park, something like that. What are you up to today?" She asked politely.

Alex Thompson

Alex rolled his eyes and walked inside, closing the door behind him. "I wouldn't know. Sorry to disappoint," he said with a teasing grin. "I have to get ready, I'm meeting him again soon. We're going on a date," He said, following Harley into the kitchen. He couldn't help the excited grin that spread on his face. "So I need to shower and change. What're you up to today?" He asked curiously.

Cynthia Daniels

At Amanda's response Cynthia frowned, she spoke up, having never been a woman to hold her tongue. "You should rethink that, sweet girl, people can bring you a lot of happiness" Cynthia paused and smiled. "I'm heading into town, I need to pick up a few bits. I didn't know if you wanted to come, we can have lunch" the older woman suggested.

Harley Thompson

"Disappointment, brother. I was expecting babies and a wedding by now the way you two are" she teased right back, with a grand smile, proud of herself. Harley looked at Alex as she shoveled another mouthful of cereal into her mouth, "a date huh? Soon enough I won't see you anymore. I think it's best you write the house over to me, we both know it's what's best" Harley grinned ear to ear swallowing her food.

"I don't know.. pigging out, watching movies and stuff. I haven't planned anything" she said, "don't think I'm being your chaperon on this date. You're a big boy now, Alex".

Amanda Daniels

Amanda resisted the urge to roll her eyes. She knew grandma had never understood her introverted personality, and she didn't feel like having that discussion again right now. "Sure Gram," She said, smiling. "Lunch and shopping sounds like fun." She always did enjoy spending time with Gram and now that she thought about it, it had been awhile since they had spent any time together. "Just let me get ready real quick okay?" She asked, planting a kiss on her cheek and then bouncing up the stairs.

Alex Thompson

"Oh please, you'd wreck the house within five minutes of owning it," he teased. He headed towards the stairs, jumping them two at a time, getting to the second floor at lightening speed. "And I don't need a chaperone, thank you very much. I'm perfectly capable of going on a date on my own!" He shouted back, leaning over the stair railing. "Try not to get in too much trouble while I'm out. Don't do anything I wouldn't do," He said, winking at Harley and walking into the bathroom. He turned on the water and waited patiently for it to warm. He couldn't shower unless the water was practically burning his skin. Once he deemed the water got enough, he jumped in and hurriedly shampooed his hair. Once he finished, he got out and rushed to his room. He opened his closet...and promptly stopped in his tracks. What was he going to wear? And then the panic set in. He stood there, utterly confused and worried, water dripping from his hair onto the ground. He was going on a date. What should he wear on this date? What do people wear on dates? What should he do? He didn't the only thing he could think to do in this situation. "HARLEY!!" He yelled, shouting her name loud enough to be heard all throughout the house.

Cynthia Daniels

A smile graced her lips as she watched Amanda head out of the room, "alright, sweet girl" she said. Cynthia took a seat beside Jaison at the table, she could practically feel the nervousness radiating off of him. Slowly, Cynthia put a hand on Jaison's and gave it a squeeze. "I don't know what's got you so worried, but I am sure it is nothing to worry about" clearing her throat, she continued. "What is it, sweet boy? What's got you so nervous?" at first it didn't seem like Jaison was going to reply, to Cynthia it seemed like he was off in another reality, trapped in his head for certain.

"We're going on a date" he managed, glancing toward her.

"I'm.. nervous. I know Alex, right? I just-- I don't want it to go wrong. I shouldn't be nervous.. it's Alex.. I shouldn't--" Jaison admitted, slumping in his chair. "What if it goes wrong?" he asked.

Cynthia let out a gentle sigh, "you have every right to be nervous" she chuckled softly watching him. It had never been a shock to Cynthia when Jaison came out, or when he came back home one day telling her about kissing Alex. She had seen it. It was little things they did, for each other, or together. People who said it was a phase needed to have watched those two grow up together. Neither knew it at first, nor had she, but then she'd seen it. "It will all go great but not if you get yourself in a state like this" she cupped his cheeks and smiled, brightly, warmly. "I promise you. You'll feel so silly later when you realized how much you worried.. and how pointless it was, sweet boy" Cynthia placed a kiss on Jaison's forehead and stood.

"Now go and get ready. The worse thing you can be is late... you know how much I dislike lateness" the older woman said, glancing back at Jaison. He nodded and stood picking up his plates, "leave those, I'll do those". Cynthia watched him hug her and whisper a thank you, before disappearing off upstairs.

Harley Thompson

"And it being a wreck would be a problem...
because? It's already a mess with you living here too" she chuckled. Stuffing more cereal into her mouth, she finished off her breakfast and dumped the bowl into the dishwasher. "Oh of course you don't, dear brother" Harley teased as she left the kitchen and made way upstairs, laughing hysterically. "That means I can pretty much do anything! Thank you my brother, I'll be sure to tell our mother!" she called to him as he went into the bathroom. Harley made way to her room, launching herself onto the bed. Minutes passed and even with her music blaring, Harley still heard the yelling, she laughed and stood up on her bed. She bounced, believing Alex had been caught by one of her perfectly placed pranks. A whoopee cushion here, fake poo there, sometimes hair dye instead of shampoo or food in his bed.. or bugs. Harley bounded out of the bedroom, "gotcha!" she yelled throwing open his door. A wave of disappointment hit her as she realized not one of her pranks had caught him, "oh..." she sighed heavily. "Did you want something? Or do you just enjoy screaming my name?" she asked with a bright grin.

Alex Thompson

"I need help!!" Alex said. He didn't care about the fact that he was practically naked, only wearing a towel, he was too focused on the matter at hand. He grabbed Harley's arm and practically dragged her into the room. He set her in front of his closet and with a look of despair, wailed "What do I wear??" This would quite possibly be the most important day of his life, he couldn't mess it up. Everything had to be perfect. "Help me pick something out!!"

Amanda Daniels

Amanda walked into her room and closed the door, approaching her closet and throwing it open. "What to wear, what to wear," she thought out loud. She ruffled through her array of clothes and finally settled on an outfit of jeans and a hoodie. She quickly began to change, eager to get out of the house.

Harley Thompson

"Jesus, you sound like a teenaged girl" she snorted, glancing over the clothes set before her. Harley didn't hate all of it.. most of it for sure, but you were supposed to not like what your siblings wore. Right? Shrugging off the thought, she moved closer to the clothes and pulled a few things out. "Here, a shirt, t-shirt underneath it and a pair of jeans" she said tossing the clothes onto the bed. "Not too casual, not too formal" she smiled arms folded, rolling her eyes. Harley started toward the door, "hold the applause" she said stopping in the doorway. "You good now, Princess?" she asked, fluttering her eyelashes with a teasing smile.

Jaison Daniels

He stared at the closet before him, and within a few minutes managed to find something he didn't hate too much. A turtle neck jumper, jeans and a pair of trainers. If they were going out on the boat, Jaison wanted to be a little bit warm. Quickly changing, he fixed his hair and headed downstairs. Grandma was rooting in the cloakroom when he appeared.

"What coat should I wear, sweetheart?" she called glancing out at Jaison.

"The one with the fur" he said, pointing.

Cynthia frowned back, "are we sure?" she asked.

"You asked" he chuckled watching her pull on the coat, before checking herself out in the mirror.

"Oh, perfect. Thank you sweet boy" she said, slipping on a pair of boots and collecting her handbag. "I wish you well today, but I know for certain it will go well" she commented giving his hand a squeeze before going to collect her car keys from the side.

Alex Thompson

"I must say dear sister, you have impeccable taste," he said with a grin. He examined all the clothes she had picked out with a critical stare and once he deemed them acceptable, he flashed her a thumbs up. "Thanks for the help Harley! I don't know what I would do without you," he said genuinely. He hurried her out of the room, closing the door behind her, then quickly changed into his outfit. Now fully dressed, he needed to face the difficult decision of what shoes to wear. He quickly realized that all his shoes looked the same, converse sneakers in all different colors, all worn from years of use. He finally just settled on a pair that matched his shirt and stepped out of his room, beaming with pride. "Now just to wait," he said, hopping down the stairs and plopping into a seat in the front room, staring at the door like a puppy.

Amanda Daniels

"I'm ready!" Amanda called out, rushing down the stairs. She knew grandma hated being kept waiting, so she rushed to the front door. "Looking good Gram," she commented, noticing the jacket she was wearing. She pulled on a jacket of her own, a simple black one, and zipped it up. "See you later Jaison," she said, giving him a reassuring smile. "Have fun."

Harley Thompson

Wandering back to her room she turned the music off, Harley got ready and dressed in a simple dress. Skipping down the stairs, music now blaring from her headphones, she played an air guitar with a ferocious determination to hit each note. Her eyes spotted Alex sitting and staring at the door, "brother!" she bellowed loudly, before tugging out a headphone. "Why don't you just go over now? I mean, you've already ate his face off.. I don't think he'd mind you being early" she teased, leaping over the back of the couch to sit beside Alex. Harley turned off her music and put the TV on, scrolling through shows to find something to watch. "Oh, hell yes, Tattoo Fixers is on. You watched this? Some people are so stupid with the tattoos they get!" she enthused.

Cynthia Daniels

"Goodbye, Jaison" she said following Amanda out of the door. Cynthia unlocked the car, a small Cleo, before clambering in. Adjusting the seat a little, she propped herself on a cushion to make seeing the road easier. Pulling out of the drive, Cynthia drove down the street heading towards town. "How are things with your boyfriend, Mandy?" she asked, glancing briefly at her granddaughter with a gentle smile.

Jaison Daniels

Watching from the window like a child, Jaison's eyes followed the car as it pulled off and disappeared down the street. He wandered to the living room and grabbed a book, sitting to read while he waited. To say he was nervous, would have been an understatement.

Alex Thompson

"You're right, it's better to be early right? It shows you're eager?" He says hesitantly. He stands up and swipes his car keys from the bowl by the front door. "And for the record, there was no 'face sucking,' He said, putting air quotes around the words. A slight blush crept up on his neck to his face. "We haven't even kissed yet. Well, I mean, we have but that was years ago. Wait, does that mean technically we've already had our first kiss? We had our first kiss before our first date, what a pair of weirdos we are..." He continued rambling on, growing more and more nervous as he thought about leaving to get Jaison. He started pacing in the front of the front door, trying to put it off for as long as he could. He was worried he was going to mess things up, that he would do something so stupid that Jaison would never want to speak to him ever.

Amanda Daniels

"They're goin pretty good Gram," she said, returning her smile. "We've both been pretty busy lately, so we haven't seen each other much. Hopefully we can meet up later this week," she said, returning her gaze to the window. What she didn't mention was that her boyfriend had been acting kind of distant lately. She was worried, but she wasn't one to share her feelings, not even to her grandma.

Harley Thompson

"It does.." before she could continue, Alex was rambling on and on. She'd seen him like this only a couple of times in her life, and all of those time were to do with Jaison. After they'd kissed for the first time, she'd remembered overhearing their conversation. "Damn, chillax, Alex" she sighed, getting up from the couch. "Maybe you ought to have a shot or something, you're tense" she scoffed. Harley watched him fumble and realised it wasn't a time to joke, leaning against the wall beside Alex she smiled. "Calm down" she said, grabbing hold of his forearm. "It doesn't matter when you kissed, but dude I am pretty sure whether it was years ago or the other day, it doesn't matter when it happened. As long as it meant something" Harley glanced at her feet, shuffling in place slightly. Releasing Alex's arm she wandered to sit on the stairs, "take a deep breath and stop panicking. Alex's likes you, you like Alex. If things don't work out that's the way it's going to be, but I can promise you that if something wasn't going to come of this you'd know already. You guys might date for a few weeks, a month, years. Who knows?" she started, pausing breifly. "However long, it's important and special and you should put the effort in. Other whys what's the point" Harley stood and opened the front door, "Now get on out there and put that effort in" she smiled.

Cynthia Daniels

"That's good, sweetheart" she smiled, concentrating on the road. Cynthia glanced to Amanda briefly, she had a tendency to avoid eye contact.. almost like she disappeared into a shell for a while when something was up. "Maybe he could come over for dinner, wouldn't that be lovely?" she suggested, if Amanda didn't want to talk about it right now, Cynthia would wait. But she knew that sooner or later, she'd get it out of her granddaughter.

Alex Thompson

He listened intently as Harley gave him a well deserved pep talk. When she finished, he grinned widely. "You're right! Thanks sis," he said, striding over to the front door and yanking it open with determination. "Geez, when did you start giving me life advice?" He said teasingly. "See you later!" He said cheerily. He exited the house and jogged down the driveway to his car, spinning the keys around his fingers. He hopped inside and turned the keys in the ignition, grinning as it purred to life. "Oh, I've missed you baby," he said. He had left his car there when he moved and he had missed it a lot. He worked in fixing that car and bringing it life, it was one of his pride and joys. He backed out of his drive way and took a few last seconds to calm his nerves before starting the drive to Jaison's house.

It was a quick drive, one he had made hundreds of times. He was positive he could make it there with his eyes closed. He arrived in record time and parked outside. Deciding that stalling any longer would just make him more nervous, he got out, strode towards the door, and knocked boldly. He put on an air of confidence and hoped that Jaison wouldn't be able to tell how nervous he was.

Amanda Daniels

"Sure Gram, I'll ask him," she said, smiling at her grandma, though she knew that he would probably deny the offer, as he had been denying all her attempts at meeting up lately. "He's always loved your cooking. Everyone does," she said, feigning cheeriness. In all honestly, she wished her grandma would stop asking her about her boyfriend. It was just reminding her of the break up that she was sure was inevitably in the future.

Harley Thompson

She chuckled watching him leave, "we both know I've always been the smarter sibling" she called. Harley's eyes followed the vehicle as it moved down the road before going inside, it was time for a lazy day for sure.

Cynthia Daniels

Nodding softly she smiled, "sounds lovely sweetheart" she commented. "From what I can tell he's a nice boy" she continued. Eyes dancing over the carparks as they drove, Cynthia spoke up. "Where do you want to eat? I'll park closer... my legs aren't what they use to be" Cynthia chuckled eyes going to Amanda, then back to the road. It hadn't taken them too long to get to town, luckily they'd made it before it got busy.

Jaison Daniels

The knock startled him and drew his attention from the wonders of the world of the book he'd chosen, back to the reality. Jaison placed the book on the coffee table and stood, he grabbed the keys to his Gran's boat before edging toward the door.
Calm down, he told himself, you know Alex. It's going to go great. Reaching the door, he took his keys from the side and pulled the door open. "Hi" Jaison managed, a shy smile, "I've just got to put my coat on... oh and shoes, yeah shoes are good" he laughed nervously. Jaison grabbed his coat from the banister where he'd left it hanging, quickly he pulled on his shoes and stood from the step. His eyes focused on the floor, it was hard to not stare at Alex. He'd put in the effort for sure.. a lot of effort. Jaison wasn't standing close to him and already he could smell his deodorant, or aftershave.. maybe it was shower gel, whatever it was, it smelt amazing. Tugging on his coat, Jaison put his phone, wallet, keys and boat keys in his pocket. "Ready to go?" he asked moving back to the door.

Alex Thompson

"Totally," Alex said with a grin. He stepped back to let Jaison walked past, his heart jumping into his throat every time he got near him. "You, uh, you look nice," he said nervously. He didn't know how these date things were supposed to go, but he knew compliments were a thing that were supposed to happen. And he did genuinely mean it. Jaison looked adorable. "Fair warning, I might get us lost," he said with a anxious chuckle, walking towards his car. "It's been awhile since I've driven down there." Alex glanced down, wanting to hold Jaison's hand, but he wasn't sure if that was allowed. So instead he just stuffed his hands in his pocket.

Amanda Daniels

"You can pick gram. I'll even pay," she said, pulling out her wallet. "My treat," she said happily. She was always happy to be helping people out, especially Gram. Gram had done so much for her and Jaison, Amanda was always happy to try and return the favor.

Jaison Daniels

"Oh, thank you" he paused, shyly. At first he wasn't sure what to say but went with what he wanted to. "You look good too" he smiled, biting down on his lip. It wasn't a lie, but Jaison had always thought Alex looked good. Even before his dyed hair, the piercings. His mind wandered to when they were younger, parties.. the party. Shaking the thought from his mind he followed behind Alex to the car, after closing the front door. Unsure what to do with his hands, he held onto the front door keys and grabbed his phone from his pocket - holding the turned off device to seem as though he knew what he was doing. "That's okay. I know the way well" he said, "I still go down there... every two weeks" Jaison paused by the passenger door. "Me and Gran like to take the boat out, for Grandpa.. he wouldn't want it sitting at the docks rotting away" he shrugged. Jaison got into the car and closed the door, putting his phone and keys away to put his seatbelt on. "Nice car" he commented, glancing around the interior.

Cynthia Daniels

"No, no, dear. I'll be paying" she commented, patting her hand on Amanda's wallet. "I invited you out" Cynthia picked the car park closest to one of her favourite cafes. A sweet little place called Linda's. It was closer to the centre of town, better for her legs. "I need the bank first, then I want to find a new blouse for.." Cynthia let her voice trail off, before clambering out of the car. She gazed about for the pay stand, unable to spot it from where she was.

Alex Thompson

"Thanks!" Alex said, gleaming with pride. His nervousness momentarily forgotten, he went off on a tangent about how he fixed up the car himself. As they drove away and Alex kept rambling on, he soon got more comfortable. Despite everything, this was still Jaison. The same Jaison that Alex had fallen for all those years ago. So Alex decided to quell his nerves and try to act normally. He finally finished the end of his rant about cars and grinned at Jaison. "Sorry, I know I talk a lot."

Amanda Daniels

"Oh alright. If you insist Gran," she said, smiling gently. She started walking in the direction of the pay stand, tugging Gran in its direction. "I need some new clothes too. I got rid of a bunch of stuff that didn't fit me anymore," she said, shuddering at the memory of cleaning out her gigantic closet. There had been things in there from years ago and she couldn't figure out why she still had them. She had cleaned a bunch of stuff out, giving most of it away to charity.

Jaison Daniels

It wasn't that he had never been interested in cars, but more that all he saw was a car. Somehow Alex made it all sound interesting, the parts, building it, changing things. Jaison didn't know if it was how Alex explained it or if it was because it was Alex explaining it, but either way, he was interested and intrigued to know more. Once Alex stopped, Jaison smiled brightly. "I don't mind" he said, "I like listening to you.. I like how passionate you are" Jaison said. Focusing on the road, he pointed to a turning up ahead, "take this left" he said. So far, Alex had done a pretty good job of getting them toward the docks. He'd barely asked for directions. "After this left, it's straight on. Then we're looking for spot.. um, eighteen" Jaison looked back toward Alex with a smile.

Cynthia Daniels

"Alright, sweetheart, slow down a little" she chuckled, trying to keep up with Amanda's steps. Paying at the pay stand, Cynthia took the ticket and headed back to the car putting it on the dashboard. Before returning to Amanda, "we can clothes shop first, I won't suggest where" Cynthia laughed softly. "I know you won't want to buy what I wear" linking Amanda's arm, she lead the way, at her pace, into town.

Alex Thompson

Alex blushed at Jaison's compliment. Passionate. He liked that word. It seemed to describe him pretty well. No matter what he was doing, he always gave 110%. "Sure thing chief," Alex said, grinning. "Spot number 18." He stayed on the look out for the spot Jaison had said. Soon enough, he pulled up to spot 18 and parked his car with care. He wouldn't want to ruin his paint job so soon after getting his beloved car back. He got out of the car and locked it, looking to Jaison for more instruction. "Where to know chief?" Alex asked. He wanted to give Jaison a cute nickname, a pet name. People gave their partners those all the time right? He got lost in thought as he waited for Jaison to give him instruction.

Amanda Daniels

Amanda shrugged. "I don't mind Gran," She said, peering at all the store fronts around them. "Thrift stores are always fun to shop at," She said, stopping in front of a small thrift store. "You can always find some cool things in there!"

Jaison Daniels

Laughing at Alex's attempt at a nickname, Jaison followed him out of the car. "Chief? Really?" he chuckled lightly, Jaison's mind wandered to when they were younger. "Out of the two of us.. you were bossier when we were younger, I think Chief suits you more" he teased, grinning. Glancing around, and getting his bearings, Jasion pointed toward the docks. "Gran's boat should be in spot eighteen.." he said, leading the way. Jaison looked all around, wondering if anything seemed different to Alex. Not much had changed, the docks had barely been touched. The main restaurant had been updated but that was all.

Cynthia Daniels

Smiling as she wandered with Amanda, she spoke up. "Dear, wherever you'd like to go" Cynthia chuckled, "I'll judge what you buy, rather than the store" she teased giving Amanda a little nudge. She had never disapproved of anything Jaison or Amanda had worn... Cynthia's mind disagreed and reminded her of the time Jaison had thought it was cool to wear a 'sexy' costume like his friends. That she had disapproved of.

Alex Thompson

Alex chuckled. "Yeah, I guess I was always really bossy huh?" He said, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. He followed behind Jaion, examining the docks as they walked. Not much had changed since the last time he was here. That was comforting in a way. A lot had changed, but there were still a lot of things that were the same. Soon enough, they had arrived at spot eighteen. Alex had never mentioned it, but he had always been nervous going out on boats. He was never a strong swimmer and water in general had always made him nervous. But Jaison had always loved their boating trips, and Alex loved seeing how happy Jaison was whenever they made the trip. "Ready to go out on the water?" He asked, turning to look at Jaison.

Amanda Daniels

Amanda laughed lightly. "Alright Gran. Let's go in here," she suggested, opening the door to a small boutique. She had never been inside that particular store before, but she hardly ever left her usual hang out spots and shopping centers that it wasn't that unusual. She looked around curiously, wondering what kinds of clothing the store carried.

Jaison Daniels

Following beside Alex, they quickly reached spot eighteen. Gran's boat was a decent size, with one main deck, the cabin and a deck below the water for longer travels, or if it got too cold. "Ready" he smiled slowly getting onto the boat, wobbling slightly at first. Jaison moved onto the deck and began preparations to set sail, unsure if Alex remembered the tasks, he thought it best to help him out.

"You want to make us something to drink?" Jaison suggested, "everything's below" he chuckled pointing toward the cabin. The steps lead down to a small cabin below, with a little kitchenette, one bedroom, a tiny bathroom and some seating.

Cynthia Daniels

"Okay, okay" she answered following Amanda into the store, sticking close as of their linked arms. Cynthia glanced around the boutique, vintage clothing on every hanger and shelf. It was lovely inside, decorated with furnishings from all different eras.

(Sorry I took so long to reply!)
