Intro.


No lore was broken in the making. Very good play on War. Azel carries a spear, not a scythe (picture is most deceiving I know). Azel is also a child of Death, not war, and War doesn't really know his name, but those are all little silly things. Good setup, should have your response up soon.

Had 13:15 to around 16:38 on replay throughout writing the CWI bit. Don't open the link if you can't tolerate new-wave synth or electronica. It's the best (or worst) of both worlds. Reminds me of Justice when they were still releasing hot tracks. Didn't realize till after finishing it that lyrics actually kinda relate to themes present in the scene.

Rp starts, insignificant conversation happens in the hotel. Len is out killing people, he comes back, complains about it to Bel. Terry's like: 'yo, len, go get your CARDS' 'cause the cards arrive. Terry 'nd Bel <3. Terry & Bel teleport to the roof, and watch Azel the teleporting madman painter paint some stuff. Len 'n' Tony talk about some things in the lobby, drink some alcohols together, and leave for 'the dirt' 'cause they're gonna fight eachother. Maddie shows up, she's new, met by leo at the door. Maddie showers, comes downstairs and is crashed into by Ruby, and then Lyle (I think?) is like: AYE ROARK, WAS THAT A NEW PERSON??

wait ok i have some quick questions-


1. so all of our characters work for War together so they're all kind of on the same team right? and their job is to what, kill people in the city? and do they kill random people, criminals, anyone they want, etc.?


2. also who is Bel? War's right hand?


3. and what are these cards?

K, so, Death owns the hotel. (He's cool). War ruined everyone's life by giving them warbrands. The characters work for War against their will because War can beat em up. Together , the characters are warriors but that hardly means they all like each other. Go to the neutral characters tab for Bel. The cards are issued by War every once in a while, all people get 'em, and if you disobey War sends something at you to beat you up.

Have you guys discussed any predetermined relationships between characters?
 
It's something that we've sort of developed as we went along. More natural that way. If you have any ideas feel free to explore them.
 
Ah gotcha! Not many of the characters have personality descriptions tho so I'll probably play it by ear as well

I just posted my character, and to be honest, I'm in love with the idea of this RP, but sadly it's been awhile since I've done anything like this. If you feel that my writing is not up to par for this, please let me know, and I will try my best to adjust. If I fail to do so, feel free to kill my character off if need be.


Also if you feel that chain and scythe shouldn't be used, I was originally going for a rapier (punctures enemies, and drinks the blood of its victims), but as I was looking for a character pic, it totally changed my mind

Well it's not bad. It could however use a bit of refinement. For starters, you'll want to remove all those bits in the parenthesis you found with the cs code. The Saving Grace also needs to be changed. It's a symbol on the body, as well as what motivates your character to live. Look at other character's graces for examples of what I mean by this. Apart from that it looks fine, I don't have any particular problem with the chain scythe so long as you realize the weapon itself is very easily manipulated against its wielder in poor circumstances. I'd suggest however that you try to put a bit more time into refining her. Think about what you want her to be, and what she's become over six years of war. I'm not going to accept her just yet, but the cs isn't so awful that I would just deny you off the bat. I think with a little creativity you can polish her into a very solid character.

I will remove everything in parenthesis here shortly, but as for the saving grace, I would like to keep it. Her broken shackle is the symbol of her freedom she was given when her accepted her warbrand. Her parents were the chain that bound her to her misery.


She now sees herself as the one to break the shackles of others, whether it be through the embrace of death when she is given a card, or through her own vigilante work, as she actively kills rapists and pedophiles.


I will go further into her psyche and flesh out her past to show these traits of hers.


As for her weapon, she expects people to manipulate it. She knows it is a crude, basic weapon, and normally people underestimate her due to her age and weapon, which she fully uses to her advantage. It works less often as in the past, as she has survived the past 6 years, but in that time she has honed her talent with the weapon.


I will edit my profile to reflect these things, and as stated, with your permission, I would like to keep the chain and shackle as her saving grace.

While I understand the value of the shackle, it's just not how the Saving Grace works. A symbol of a shackle is fine, but the object just doesn't fit. Not to mention as soon as I allow you to do it then all of a sudden everyone who applies points at your character sheet and asks why they can't do something different with their saving grace. I have to be consistent.


Honing your skills with a weapon is fine and good, but a flaw is still a flaw. If someone catches her chain, she's immediately at the mercy of their strength, even if it is digging into them. I just want to make sure you're aware of the risk, is all. This isn't Rookie Arena (High School Fighting/Romance/RP lots of action fighting nstuff), you can't just say your character is skilled with a weapon and suddenly that weapon is infallible. It'll be tough.


I look forward to seeing just how it develops.
 
@TheLoneRook Hey I had a quick question about this part under Death in Neutral Characters. So are there going to be monsters in the City that our characters will be fighting as well?


Also, Bell is the girl with the pink hair, right?


And I noticed that you put me down as reserved for a Sound character, but that I was actually a misunderstanding. I will only be creating one character in Instinct :)

All of us can create what you refer to as "life". However, besides Life himself, we do not have clearance to put our creations in your world. Of course, in our younger and less mature years, we often broke this rule, which gave rise to most of your religion and mythology today. The monsters you find yourselves fighting are creations of War, and trust me when I say you don't need to feel any compassion for their demise.

I am changing it right now, as I do see your point with the saving grace. As for the weapon, all have a weakness, and I do understand the limitations of mine.

Bel* but yeah, she is. He'll fix the reservation soon 'nuff, it's pretty minor of an issue. As for 'monsters' ..well, I won't deny it. It could definitely happen. *Wink*

Wait don't our characters have to accept the card tho? Otherwise War gets mad and kills you?


ALSO, what's the deal with sexual relations in the Hotel/among the Warriors? B/c knowing Xena, she'll probably have to satisfy her needs once in a while lmao, but it'll be purely physical for her with zero romantic/emotional attachments
