Frances had lived in the big city her whole life, that is until the dead started walking. She lived in a studio apartment with her two cats, Tom and bill (they died). Once news spread that the zombie apocalypse was happening, Matthew grabbed all the food and ammunition he could find, stuffed it all into a bag, and headed out of the main city. His friends had died early on, and for the most part, Matthew has been alone since. He is very cautious to join groups due to his general distrust in the general public.

He wasn't very fond of his Grandparents for the way they treated his Mother when she was young. Having been bullied a lot, Brian eventually developed a hot temper and was no longer afraid to get into fights. He was suspended in and out of school often for doing so. Even outside of school, but he was able to avoid assault charges. He didn't even serve time for Attempted Murder. With the Apocalypse, Brian is now often hunting with his Father if not keeping the walkers away from their family. During traveling, he uses Bandits and Raiders as a way to pass time, using them as target practice and to make the roads safer for other survivors as the Zombies were already enough.
