The Vigilante Code

Actually ... those two are fine. I was thinking of sending Matthew after the driver (Garth) and leaving the Pimp to you. Rafael is pretty much disposable as a character. This is the only time I plan to use him. He is JUST a pimp really. Murder is not his thing. In other words he talks a mean game and will pick on someone he thinks he can push around. But he lacks the stomach to kill.

Ugh .. work was a pain today.

I actually wasn't sure about the language rating limits on RpN, so I defaults to kid friendly lingo.

I'm going to try to get a post up today. It will depend on my schedule though. Lots of coursework to do.

"My brother - if he is there - may assume we’ve resumed old relations. If we have, let me know now."

Is Sean blatantly asking there if she wants to date him again?

Finally got around to reading Sean's POV^^

Lol. Cheerleaders. I sense a cat fight coming along...the bloody kind =P

hehe .. yep. Hint: Juanita is a major NPC. She is essentially the second in command of the sub group that Hellburner works with. She's a world class assassin. I did rather enjoy throwing in a little drama by having Samuel give Erica a warning. Samuel knows just how dangerous Juanita is. Even he is afraid of her. And Sanmuel can still beat Sean bloody.

@WritingMan I purposely left that issue vague. Sean was in a bit of a mood; so he was hard to read if he was hinting. Let us just say that I am leaving his statement open to interpretation. Consider this, as I recall they met as high school freshmen. Hormones got a going, things happened ... then as adulthood loomed things fell apart as Erica went into the National Guard and got deployed, cooling things off with a grinding halt. There are unresolved issues there. Half the fun of an RP is the drama.

Mmmhmm, Edwin has no idea about what Matthew's been doing with his life- he barely knows him. Nor was he aware about the ship and its smuggling activities until today. So yes, he'll be asking a million questions...especially regarding Matthew who's piqued his interest. Gotta have my character learn the truth somehow^^

Just a heads up, I won't be posting until tonight.

I'm all for that. I just wanted to clarify that that was the direction you wanted to head. Drama is always fun. I should have times tonight to get a post out.

@WritingMan Not going to get my post done right now. Got to get ready for work. I do plan to zip past the fights, though you may want to flashback to them. These aren't tournament styled fights. Most of the time fighters just aren't in shape to take on a second fighter in one night - or even a week. Very bluntly Juanita is going to take Erica out. She IS going to cheat. But the only one who will realize it is Erica. Juanita used a venom that she has a high tolerance to. She is a toxicologist specializing in scorpions. She has modified the venom to act as a paralytic with a minimum of pain, but able to able of contact without breaking the skin.

LOL .. no, not a fair fight at all. But ... it does get you aboard the ship.

Erik is a very high ranking member of this organization. IE he ranks above Juanita's boss. This doesn't mean he had anything to do with Nico though. An organization that big, left and right hands don't always talk. Or he may even disagree with the decision to make a public spectacle out of Nico.

I hope you don't mind I did the classic chloroform thing. I tried to balance between realistic inhalation knockout and much cooler knockout.

I'm aware that realistic inhalation knockout would usually take longer, and I could change it if you want...but If that was the case I would simply have Edwin force Rafael to hold his breath until he passed out...which doesn't sound nearly as cool...

Lol. Erica meets Erik. What a funny coincidence. =P

@WritingMan Yep, nekkid. He had to wash her off. The venom was combined with another chemical to make it a contact poison and she was in danger of a fatal overdose. However, Erik doesn't seem interested. His is more of a doctor's attitude. There is a changing curtain nearby and a bathroom available. Also, her street clothes were recovered.

The only thing missing would be any burner phone that Lori might have given anyone.

Note: There is a cell jammer in use.

@QuirkyAngel That was fine. Cinematic effects. For example, cars that go over a cliff rarely explode in real life. That's Hollywood. But here in this RP, it is more likely to happen. Why? Because explosions are so much fun. LOL, at least you didn't use fire. His hair might have caught fire.

Oh ... FYI ... Matthew stole the pistol ... BEFORE he got to the man. That should be impossible.

What is funny is that Matthew isn't a vigilante. He isn't out for justice or the law. No, he simply doesn't like drugs or guns. He especially hates drug dealers that sell to kids. If there is a heroic streak in him, it is about protecting kids. He takes a VERY dim view of child abuse. But he got involved in that one time and the kid ended up crying. So he's a bit confused on that issue.

As to the money, he is much like Eddie. Put it to better use. As to why he burned the money, that should be OBVIOUS. He unloaded 3/4 of a shipping container ... a trash bag at a time. It was getting close to daybreak. So he burnt the rest. He still has most of the money.

A 45 foot shipping container is just over 3000 cubic feet. One million bills of new US currency is just shy of 40 cubic feet. That means you can fit about 70 (about 2800 / 40) million bills. Multiply by 5,10,20, 50, or 100 to get the value. Assuming a mix averaging 10's, he got away with over half a billion dollars. How much does a Free Clinic cost? Let's say he spent about 10 million. He likely has over half a billion still - even after another 10 million for his lab.

Oh...so Matthew moved faster than the eye could possibly see? I'll edit the post in that case.

As for Eddie he's just being his dramatic self. Yes, Edwin realizes that Matthew couldn't realistically carry all that money. For someone who needs money burning money is a like a sin =P

oh .. Matthew is probably going to leave Janice with Edwin. Too close to sunrise. Do you want Edwin to escort her to her apartment?

Gonna have to work on response for Erica and Sean tomorrow.

Hmm .. I just picked up an App for Speech recognition to write my posts. Gonna have to test it out soon.

If anyone's curious about the type of magic that Edwin performs, look up Mat Franco--the winner of the ninth season of 'America's got talent'. That's who Edwin is partly based off of xD

Oh .. Jake is in clean room ... In short there's a wall between him and the rest of the world. His air is filtered. There are O2 tanks in the room just in case. He does school via video conferencing. You'd have to pull things from behind Janice's ear. Kid would probably enjoy anything that makes his sister smile. He purposely tries not to complain to avoid making her feel guilty.

Noted^^

Wait...was Jake not at the door O.o ?

@Mitheral Did Erica have any other damage besides the toxin? Bruised or broken bones, stitches, casts, etc?

Also, what is the room like? Is it like that or a luxury cruise ship hotel room? Is there a window? Only one door in and out?

@QuirkyAngel Jakes room is similar to this:

th

Of course, he doesn't have to wear a suit inside like the guy in the picture. There is a slot for sending food, fresh bedding, fresh clothing through ... and an external roll away airlock for delivering larger items like O2 tanks. There is a cabinets filled with sterilization chemicals close by. And to think ... a teenage girl that dropped out of high school came up with this. Maybe this puts the medical bills into perspective. Janice went to a LOT of trouble to keep her brother from getting taken by the system.

To give a good idea just how far she will go ... find out what she has in that package she calls a Christmas ornament.

Oh, so they looked at him through his room. I'm gonna hafta edit my post then. Sorry about that -.-

I don't suppose, Janice would let Edwin go in there...

Just bruises. Juanita was snapping blows out, not using full force. She actually did a very good job of capturing Erica intact.

Also, what is the room like? Is it like that or a luxury cruise ship hotel room? Is there a window? Only one door in and out?

There is one door out, plus a door to the bathroom. There is no closet. Rather there is a shrunk (bolted down for safety in storms - as is the bed and dresser). This is essentially a room put together for someone on house arrest. And it was constructed from a pair of shipping containers. (The door to the bathroom goes to the other container. The exit door goes to an alcove. There is temperature control equipment outside the container that could literally freeze you solid. It is a reefer container, like for transporting perishable food.

And @QuirkyAngel Nope, Janice doesn't take chances with Jake's health. Janice clearly does everything she can to give her brother as normal a life as she can though. She doesn't seem like the sort of person to work for the criminal organization that killed Nico. Rather she seems more like a small timer that is desperate and in way over her head.

Remember Lori suggested that they may be training her, getting her ready to go after military technologies and secrets. If you were them, what would you do?
