The Vampire and her inheritance (Alaross)

[Alaross]

He walks over to the closet, hanging their coats up. He closes it and bows to them. "Please, follow me to the ballroom."

 

[Maykiri]

They followed and after that people just kept showing up for about half hour. They finally stopped after a woman showed up.


Kasey found Alex. "Alex. Is everyone accounted for?" She held a cup of wine.

 

[Alaross]

"Let's see..." He pulls out all the invitations from earlier and starts counting them. "Uhm...I believe so. How many people did you invite?"

 

[Maykiri]

"Forty five." She looked to him, glancing to the invitations, sipping her wine.

 

[Alaross]

"Yeah, forty-five invitations, all accounted for." He puts them back where he had them.

 

[Maykiri]

She nodded, patting his back. "Now, you'll follow me and stand by the door. People may leave if they want to." She started off.

 

[Alaross]

He nods and follows her. "So, are you enjoying the party much? It's not very fun when the hostess isn't enjoying herself."

 

[Maykiri]

"I am indeed. I love my nephew and I can excited that I was able to do this for him." She smiled and opened the ballroom door.

 

[Alaross]

Alex smiles back. "Your nephew is a very lucky boy, if you don't mind me saying."

 

[Maykiri]

Kasey laughed lightly. "I do parties for the staff too. Though it's usually between the staff. and I cook." She smiled, patting his shoulder, standing next to him while she talked to guests.

 

[Alaross]

Once the conversation stops, Alex speaks up again. "I don't mean any sort of disrespect, but I never expected you to be a cook."

 

[Maykiri]

Kasey looked over at him, smiling. "When's your birthday, Alex?" She tilted her head.

 

[Alaross]

"It's in April. The second. May I ask, why do you want to know?"

 

[Maykiri]

"What's your favorite thing to eat?" She rose an eyebrow, ignoring the question. She looked over as someone came over and started talking.

 

[Alaross]

Again, he waits for the conversation to stop before responding. "I'd say...a nice steak. But you never answered my question from before."

 

[Maykiri]

"Steak it is then, Alex." She nodded and smiled to a passer by. "I do enjoy steak." She looked to him, sipping her wine.

 

[Alaross]

"Um. Ok? Is that all?"

 

[Maykiri]

She looked to him, eyebrow raising again. "Oh? What else should I say? You don't want steak on your birthday?"

 

[Alaross]

"Are you offering to make me dinner for my birthday?" He looks at her with an eyebrow raised.

 

[Maykiri]

Kasey turned to him. "Did you not hear the part where I said that I have parties for the staff and cook?" She rose her eyebrows.

 

[Alaross]

"So does this mean you've officially hired me?" He asks with hopefulness in his voice.

 

[Maykiri]

Kasey smirked. "We shall see." She patted his shoulder, going into the crowd to mingle.

 

[Alaross]

He goes off into the party to tend to anything. He didn't say it, but he was ecstatic that she was at least considering it, and not just toying with him.

 

[Maykiri]

The party ended about a couple hours after the guests arrived. Kasey came to Alex, thanking everyone for coming and then closed the door. "Well. I hope you sleep well, Alex." She locked the doors, and started to her office.

 

[Alaross]

He waits until the last guest leaves before turning to Kasey. "Wait, miss? I was wondering..."
