The Unstealable Jewel (Exalted)

The only down side to an ally repairman is if we need to be away from a base for long periods. The question will be whether or not the ally will be able to travel along for field repairs on extended campaigns.

You don't keep a 'strider in the open all the time.

It tends to attract undue attention.

Maybe her Manse could have a Bound Servant or Guardian with the necessary traits? Because after getting Ally and Artifact 5, Manse 3, Essence 3 and raising her Willpower, I'm out of dots.

Besides, her backstory involves fixing up the dang thing herself during an A-Team-style montage while receiving lessons in life, love and heroics from a only slightly-insane small god.

[QUOTE="Unbridled Originality]I honestly have no idea whether I should houserule SAM or not. Any advice?

Do it.

It makes no fucking sense that an *Awareness* has no Charm to prevent Surprise.

I mean, it's pretty much what its Mirror does. The Abyssal MEP explicitly mentions "unexpected attacks".

@Arynne, don't forget that in this game we get a free Ox-Body with each dot of Essence, saving you the need to buy it on your own. Every little bit helps, right?

Note, am only voicing my own opinion.

Speeding Falcon Action

Cost:
2m (3m)

Mins: Awareness 2, Essence 2

Type: Supplemental

Keywords: Combo-OK

Duration: Instant

Prerequisite Charms: Any Awareness Excellency

The Lawgiver need not think to act. After invoking this Charm, the Solar adds (Essence) automatic successes to his next Join Battle roll.

The Solar Exalted show their prowess in all arenas. A Lawgiver with Essence 3 or more may reflexively spend one additional mote to apply the benefit of this Charm to a Join War or Join Debate roll.
I have a similar Charm i'm using that's permanent.

Glorious Totemic Leadership
Cost:
10m, 1w

Mins: War 5, Essence 4

Type: Simple

Keywords: Combo-Basic, Obvious, War

Duration: One Scene

Prerequisite Charms: Any War Excellency, Heroism-Encouraging Presence

The solar's anima banner flares to its full totemic glory and spreads to encompass the unit she is leading. The totem lends its strength to the unit and the members of the unit emulate the unity it symbolizes.

For the duration of the charm, the unit counts as having (Essence x 2) additional Relays gains a bonus to its Might rating of (Essence/2) round up.
This seems to be too powerful, compared to Ideal Battle Knowledge Prana, which reduced relays needed by half, and increases Might and Drill by 1, capped at 3 max. And it requires more Charms to get.

EDIT: Also, how do you feel about Surprise Anticipation Method as a surprise negator? There are charms that allow an unexpected attack without giving the defender (me) a chance to perceive it, and there are Unexpected attacks that can't kill me, but still effectively take me out (poisons, knocking me unconcious, non-lethal bad touches, etc.), will you agree to let its scope be extended slightly to cover those situations?
If the poison is deadly, SAM works against it. Frankly, i'd let it work against Unexpected Attacks that you can't roll to perceive, either automatically, or as part of an upgrade charm.

Most other effects that are not covered usually have, or should have, some keyword that other Charms can defend against.

Action without Thought

The Lawgiver need not think to act. This Charm adds (Essence) automatic successes to all rolls the Solar makes to Join Battle, Join Debate, or Join War.

I've always hated custom Charms, because I can never seem to get that right balance between cost and efficiency.

@Sherwood It's a fine art, and unfortunately not a science. Different people have different views on costs, and I TRY to look at other Charms when costing effects to see what seems reasonable to me.

And by far, am not perfect at it.

Well, as a player, I naturally want to get as much as I can for my character. As a storyteller, I try to be as balanced for what will work in the game and not break it for everyone. I still haven't gotten that right mix yet, but at least I recognize that about myself and don't try to offer up a whole list of wonky Charms that just won't work.

@Unbridled Originality can I have a ruling on this? =)

@ST: What would be the rating/attunement for this custom Artifact?
Pendant of the humble diplomat

* By reflexively spending 1 mote, the bearer can gain knowledge of a single non-trivial intimacy held by someone she is interacting with.

This power can't be used more than once per target character per story.

* Replicates the effect of Collar of Dawn's Cleansing Light

* The benefits of the Solar Charm Easily Overlooked Presence apply permanently to both the Pendant and whatever Heartstone it hosts, but not to the bearer who is is noticeable as normal.

Also, would it make sense to have a 3-dots version of the Stone of Inhuman Beauty that works only when activated and towards a single individual?

Rules being what they are, I feel like no amounts of Charisma and Manipulation will ever trump Appearance. =(

Well some body has to have it my characters App. is 2.

Eh. I was thinking that I could just work in writing, so App would not be a problem, but it would be very limiting for a character whose primary focus is social interaction.

IBKP works pn every unit under you comman within ess x 10 miles, GTL only works on the one you are actually leading. It may still be too powerful, but I modeled it off the DB charm Five Dragon Army.
