Fantasy The Translucent Rose

(There be magic in his shit, don't worry, xD AHH, HE'S AN ELVEN DUDE, YO. MAGIC IS LOVE, MAGIC IS LYIFE. But seriously, my idea of Elves always has magic and crap. XDD)

As Aster Dragon charged in the direction or his assailant, he felt two tiny pokes in his hide, as if a couple if flies knocked into him, denting his scales. He hissed in annoyance. He couldn't heal his scales. He had to wait until he shed them before fixing that annoyance. As he flicked his head in the direction of his new assailant, he saw too giant rock tokens, one enticingly close and the other too far away to really care about. He skidded to a halt, flapping his wings, and trampled on around a hundred goblins and hounds as he charged to his new target; wrestling with this goliath. It will be... Fun...
As Karin ran, she heard Ambrose gargle some gibberish that she didn't really pay attention to, the heard him shoot the Dragon twice. She turned around and saw the Dragon change direction, and breathed a sigh of relief. Then she realised that the Dragon was going after Ambrose now. "Not again..." she complained, but chased after it anyway. Her Jack only had three seconds left, so she drew another card, hoping that it was an ace, queen, or king...

[dice]850[/dice]

It was a four. She saw, throwing at some goblins that were in her way, causing it to grow four times in size and lodge in the ribs of one of them, piercing its heart. She drew again. This time it had to be, or she wouldn't have another chance.

[dice]853[/dice]

It wasn't enough. She drew two more cards, well aware of the risk of using multiple cards.

[dice]854[/dice]

Yes! She drew a king! She threw the two other cards at the goblins that were coming too close for comfort, the 2 lodging into one's throat, while the 8, having grown 8 Times it's original size, and measuring 4x6 feet because of it, simply squashed a pack of hounds, and a dozen goblins too. As she did this, she charged up the king in her hand, wondering where to aim for, she had read somewhere that a dragon's underbelly was its weak spot, so she threw... It struck it perfectly, creating a massive explosion that engulfed the entire Dragon with its smoke cloud.

And when the smoke cloud cleared, the Dragon was still there. Completely unharmed. She swore, remembering having also read that dragons are immune to magic and heat. Which begs to retreat. But Ambrose was still in there... She had no choice. She charged through the army, killing monster left and right with a total of twelve cards, all numbered. She would save him, no matter the risk.

(So that leaves... The Jack, an Ace, and a King gone, along with twelve numbers. That leaves four queens, three aces, three kings, twenty-four numbers and two Jokers. So 3:3:4:3:2:24 is the ratio... Not that it matters right now, bit probability is quite important here.)

"Oh god... KARIA!" This was the first time he'd spoken to the Roses, and as he expected he was ignored, surely it was because he was a half-elf, he'd faced plenty of criticism with both his- He hadn't the time to deal with this, he was perfectly capable of dodging the dragon's attacks until he eventually went back to... What ever 'it' was. "Tch." How could he have forgotten, damn dragons could withstand that bullet... He didn't have time to switch ammunition again as he narrowly avoided one of Karia's attack, did she know he dodged? Likely not, he wasn't the most noticeable person in the Roses' group.

(Apologies, I'm pretty tired and achey ATM. D:)

(No problem.)

As Aster Dragon charged towards the golem, he smelt smoke. Something had exploded. The a smoke cloud rushed out, engulfing him. He didn't even stop. That explosion was about as unpleasant as a sauna. He jumped into the air, flapping his wings to give him extra height before landing on the golem, grabbing what passed for its shoulders with his from paws, and gripping its body with his hind legs. He then proceeded to blast fire directly at its face, which began to glow white as it liquefied. Then Aster flew up into the air with the golem, spinning around before diving back into the ground and slamming the golem into it, driving it waist deep into the ground.

Karin completely gave up on attacking the Dragon at this point, hoping to simply stay out if its way as she grabbed Ambrose. Fortunately, her wish was granted as the Dragon grappled a nearby rock golem. Wait, what? Why would it attack the golem? Maybe it was a wild dragon; that would explain why it came from the other side and was attacking everything. Then she saw Ambrose, and said, "Ambrose, are you all right?"

Ambrose sighed, "I'm fine, I'm just worried about that guy I shot in the leg..." He gestured towards the cloud of smoke, "That dragon, he... or she, " He corrected himself as he spoke, "Is only here because I didn't realize people can fucking fly, it's eating away at my conscience and I don't know but I feel that I've put whomever it is in some kind of danger, I mean, even dragons have a limit!" He simply couldn't stay quiet about his guilt, "Agh, sorry, the first time I talk to anyone and I'm being a complete idiot..." He looked over at the cloud of smoke and sighed, his brown hair blowing into his eyes.

(Sorry, my muse is getting pretty downed, I can't seem to type anything without correcting myself at least 10 times, ugh. Wonder why the others aren't posting.)

"You know, it didn't actually notice us until we attacked it first. Maybe, if we just stay out of its way, it won't attack us." Karin said, throwing another numbered card at a goblin, which them wedged into its abdomen and exploded.

Aster Dragon took a large bite of one of the defeated golem's leg. Although the skin was rock, Aster's fangs tore through it quite easily. The meat inside was surprisingly soft. After mulling over it for a bit, he got bored, and swallowed it, looking around for another tasty thing to eat. Not seeing any, he simply sat down and continued to feast on the golem. Goblins and hounds swarmed over him, but couldn't get through his scales, some of them sliding off when he shook himself. Aster didn't even notice, to busy enjoying the meat of the rock golem.

(Word of advice - if you attack him now, he will get very angry. If you don't...)

(Agh, sorry, didn't see the notification. Now I feel like an ass. Though I WISH THE OTHERS WOULD POST, OH MY GOD.)

(Ack! Curse you alerts! And bless you for tagging everyone.)

Repeatedly cussing, using words from bith his bative tongue and human, he clew at the dragon. At least one of his fellow Roses needed help, and a guy that apparently wanted to pretend like one. But before he could do anything, the dragon setteled down for a snack consisting of a rock golem. Quickely turning his attention back to the massive horde of everything else, he chucks a few more of his grenades down. He was beyond tired by now. His kind were slowly de-evolving sustained flight and relied more on gliding then anything else. He was forced to land, and land hard.

(Thanks... Though, if you knew me, you would know that it would also be ironically insulting...)

Having eaten his fill, Aster Dragon decided that it was time for a nap, and placed his head on his paws and closed his eyes, breathing bbeginning to slow.

"Look..." Karin whispered, not wanting to disturb the Dragon that she was standing next to, "it's going to sleep... Does that mean that it isn't dangerous any more?"

Whilst it wasn't particularly dangerous, the Dragon still had hordes of monsters crawling over it which he incessantly flicked his tail at to throw off and kill them instinctively.

"Yay~" she said, doing a short little dance on the spot.

"Look out! Look out!" Conner shouted at a Rose he couldn't put a name to at the moment. Landing hard, closer to crashing really, he bounced the first time and slid the rest. He didn't exactly land on his feet, more like a combination of hands, chin, and chest.

As Aster Dragon slept, his scales began to disappear as he shrank back to his normal size. This was, of course a disaster, because he was still asleep and still swarmed with monsters.

"Um, do you think we should help that guy?" Karin asked (@The Doorman), pointing cautiously at the ex-Dragon. "I think it might be about to be eaten by those hounds and goblins."

Ambrose watched as Conner crash-landed, following his first instinct and rushing to see if he was okay, "Are you okay?" He said, concerned for, well, everyone's health. He turned to find that he'd been followed by the disgusting goblins that still seemed to swarm around the portal, then alerted to the... "Oh, shit. Um, yeah." He wasn't sure what to do, there was so much going on, everyone was in a lot of danger, especially the stranger he'd shot that was now swarmed by hounds and goblins, the poor guy. He flipped the pistols in his hands, using some minor magic to switch out the ammunition, he quickly shot at a few of the monsters and rushed in as the bullets exploded like tiny bombs upon contacting the thick skin of the beasts. "This is all my fault, oh my goodness." He looked at Karin, hoping for some assistance, but his focus was quickly draw away as he shot another monster.

"Fine." he said before pulling two more grenades out and throwing them into the crowd. He was very lucky he hadn't landed on those grenades, otherwise he would have been a rather large mess. "We need to close that portal, or scare the goblins off. I got an idea." he said in quick order. Quickly, he clasped his hands together, and they started to heat up, turning a dark shade of red at the edges. Out the bottom of his hand, a large ribbon of magneseum began to appear. "Protect." he managed to get out, hoping they knew he meant protect him. Making something this large was taking a large amount of his concentration.

Aster was sleeping quite soundly as the transformation reversed, which is strange, because the process was extremely painful. For some reason, he was dreaming of something that happened a long time ago, that he hadn't though about for years.

"Freak!" shouted a young student at Rosewood Academy.

"Leave me alone!" shouted young Aster back, clearly annoyed and upset by the constant and pointless insults. He never did anything wrong. It seemed that the only reason they were mocking and insulting him was because he existed.

"What, you gonna cry~?" goaded the brat, following up with an impression, "wa~ah! wa~ah! I'm so lonely and depressed!"

For no reason other than to fit in, the crowd around him laughed at this. Of course, he didn't know that then. Back then, he thought that everyone genuinely hated him. Not that it would have helped if he hadn't.

The insolent child continued to rattle on about how much of a freak, crybaby and how lonely Aster was, until, finally, after three long year's of this torment, on that moment, something inside of him snapped. Hot rage flooded out from his chest, filling his body until he turned around to shout at the boy to go away.

Unfortunately for Aster, the heat was not just anger. When he turned around, instead of words, literal fire spewed out of his mouth, killing the boy on the spot. Shocked by this, everyone took a quick step back and tried to get away from him. The truth was, what he had just done shocked him as much as everyone else, but they didn't know that. They thought he deliberately turned around and killed the boy. After a moment of staring as the corpse seemed to take an eternity to fall to the floor, Aster turned away again, and began to run, crying.

Why had he seen this memory now? It had been ages since he had last seen or remembered it, and hit happened ages ago. Why now? Is it because he was using his powers again? Who knows...

Karin drew five cards from the deck, not leaving any holds barred in this struggle. She had to be fast, or whoever, or whatever the Dragon had turned into would die...

[dice]1003[/dice]

A 5, a 9, another 5, and a Jack! Along with a 4...

She threw the numbered cards at the mass of the goblins, slicing a few, squashing a few, and blowing up a few more. Then she summoned the Jack. Once again, a red ethereal suit of armour with a sword appeared, and starts tearing apart the surrounding hounds and goblins.

Suddenly, she felt the loss of energy, darkness darting into the edges of her sight. This wasn't good. She had to get tout of here as soon as possible. But she had to save the person too... How would she make it?

Ambrose had gotten to the middle of the swarm, yes, but he could do nothing but shoot, if he stopped the stranger would die and it would be his fault, he couldn't live with that. With the pistol in his left hand he shot monsters too close for exploding, and with the pistol in his right he shot the ones further off, this method wasn't pretty, but the effect was even less so. The half-elf glanced back at the dragon-boy, who seemed alright, though the monsters were all around, he wished to awaken him but the absolute chaos around him prevented an simpler rescue. "Oi! Be careful with the grenades, Conner!" He knew all of the Roses, all of their abilities, that was the only advantage he had gained watching from afar.

Just then, the fairy instincts in Aster kicked in, a bright aura condensing around him, slowly forcing away the enemies and revealing a pair of wings that appeared to be mmade purely out of light. These wings then carried Aster several feet up into the air, all despite him being sound asleep. Fairy instincts are scary.

Karin was busy using her Jack to try and clear a path tthrough the mobsters as she tried not to black out, but then she saw the bright light as Aster went into his fairy mode, the fairy instincts taking over and she, like a lot of other beings in the vicinity, was caught by its luminescence...

(I will update Aster's CS to include the two forms currently revealed...)

(My godddddd. O.o Yes, thank you, Jipan; I'm in 74 RP's; my notification system has a reason not to work. xD )
