Well awkwardness and hijinks aside I read through everyone's profiles and I'm thinking to make a fellow ballet dancer from @Evine 's character's dance club. And he will be male. And a few years her senior. Probably.


I want to get started on the skeleton but IDK how the whole shared past friendship thing will work. I'm excited though. B)

Great, it would be cool for my character to have a fellow dancer friend! She would love that ! Past friendships don't have to be very specific in your application, but if you wanted your character to have strong relations (or weak) with other characters, that's where you would mention it. It is safely assumed that every character knows one another and is, to an extent, friendly, since they are all part of the same friend group. Anything past this should be mentioned, just be sure to talk to whoever's character you would like to use in your app first! Thanks for joining this roleplay~

I'm not good at that whittling down sort of thing. ;;


I was thinking to have him be prideful...which I don't think plagues anyone else as of yet? But that could go in many different directions.

Agreed! Maybe their relations could be a little stronger than others' in the group, because they spend so much time dancing? Or, we could take it in the opposite direction and have them dislike each other because they view the other as competition? I think I would prefer having them be closer, because my character isn't one to argue much with others, though either would be fine for me. Do you have anything in mind for them, or does one of these sound okay? As far as character archetypes go, you should definitely talk to @Idea about that ! My knowledge in that field is minimal, though I recognize what type of each character is. I would guess it means things like having a strong, silent character, a fun character, a clumsy character, etc... For instance, my character is lolita: young, innocent, cute. We also have a character that's eccentric, and another that's strong-willed, and a studious character, etc. Try and brainstorm ways to have your character fit well with the others. However, if that's difficult, just create a character that you would like to roleplay as, and I will give you advice from there. Create someone you would like to be first, and after go over and edit what you have. I've found (at least for me personally) that it is easier to edit something already in existence than to try and create something perfect on the first go Does this help at all?

As @Evine mentioned, character archtypes are certain categories of characters which have a preset set of characteristics and are often found. It is almost impossible to escape making SOME archtype, but I have found that more variety usually leads to better dynamics. However, I have found some archtypes that I (if I was the GM, but I'm not, so don't feel too obligated to follow these words) would never accept. Mainly, what I call arbitrary characters, characters which typically are contradictive to allow someone to do as they please.


As @Evine also said, try thinking of what you'd like to do and we could all help you work from there. A good question you could think about to get your answer is how you'd like other characters to see yours and how you'd like your character to interact with the others.

Still trying to work out the vision I had/have...but I am thinking that he quit ballet at one point to pursue something else, but recently returned to the club. Maybe your character will have some sort of opinion about that. And maybe they did / do partner dances together since I was thinking he'd be the naturally talented type and she's such a hard worker.


I guess I'm a bit uncertain because many of the characters so far have traumatic pasts / histories of victimization....but originally I was thinking my character would be more the "bully" type than the "bullied," lol. So I was wondering how that would play out. And some kind of personal fixation.......anyways mostly I'm just working with fledgling ideas at the moment so I probably need to gather my ideas more firmly first. (Also I must sleep soon, so I guess I can sleep on it! Lol).

I do think we could use a "bully" type of character, since we don't have one yet and some of these characters would be frequent targets of it (I had, in fact, been asking for a teaser and teased relationship with someone).

@Pretzel Heart , my character is largely a coward, but hr puts his every effort into making people be happy. Maybe my character could know something about your's past, a secret of sorts that would lead to compassion for him, allowing them to estabilish a sort of bond while still keeping the teasing aspect?


If @Semblance agrees to it, her character also seems prompt to having a very good friendship with your character, maybe as rivals of some kind? Bold and straightfoward types tend to be able to develop that kind of relationship with bully types.

Well in the original, purest version of my vision, he was going to have some sort of personal fixation on another character (something like obsessive / stalker type). It doesn't really have to be someone else's in the group but it would give him a reason to hang around lol. And that's kind of the major hole I am stuck on.

Agreed! I wouldn't mind doing something along the lines of that with Elena. My character is rather gullible towards others, and does her best to see the brightness in everyone. Though the other characters may not like him, she would defend him if they were friends.

I would totally be up for that! Like they could be really good friends bc their personalities are similar so they would have a lot of fun together, but at the same time, their boldness can sometimes clash and create disagreements

I see people proposing character ideas before going straight for character application so-


I have this idea for this kid whose super power is conjuring things, but despite trying for 15 years, it is completely unexplained and he doesn't understand it at all. The only thing he can make appear is a fluffernutter sandwich. I kinda want his main motivation to be finding out more about what his power can do (if it can actually do anything else) or where it comes from or how it operates. As a result of trying many methods over the years to see if he can do anything else with it, he's very adventurous and open to trying new things and experiences in general. And probably more to come based on feedback

@Pretzel Heart , firstly, great character (and CS), as far as I can see. Congrats!


Second, for the topic of our character's sort of bond...perhaos in the described period your character would have temporarily lost his self-confidence? Peerhaps he'd have been down in the dumps, feeling that his life had been a waste (all that hardowrk for nothing, for a "fake" success) and my character would have caught yours like that? Maybe your character caught the attention of some less-desirable people, they would have kidnapped his father, and my character would have had helped rescue him, using his newfound powers? Perhaps yours could have his powers for good during the rescue and would have regained his confidence and accepted (more or less) the fact he has them and that he'll have to live with them?


Just suggestions.

Great question! I shall explain...


The village that they were all born in, Hahnu, is a village of Time-Travelers. Though not specifically stated in the Overview (yet), those stories the elders spoke about, of battles and magic and monsters? Those are all real. The elders of Hahnu are former Time-Travelers, though ever since the elders it was thought that the Time-Traveler race had not carried on. Your characters' parents were not born Time-Travelers, and never even knew things like that existed. It seems, however, that this gene skipped a generation, and our characters now possess the Time-Traveling ability, whether they know it or not. These special abilities were created in the same sort of fashion. Each child born with the Time-Travel ability was also born with one other special ability. A side effect, if you will, from the Time-Travel gene. This... Genetic mutation, we shall call it, is indeed a mutation, and therefore unique to each individual. There is an occasional rare time in which a child may be born with two special abilities, or none at all, though none of our characters have had this occur (they will, however, meet people in the Time-Travelers Guild that have this). I suppose it is more than just friendships that have brought our characters together. As repetition in history is frequent, our characters will form bonds similar to those of their town elders. Some may call this bond fate, that they are tied together through the fabric of time, and the universe itself. However, despite being tied together, their destiny still lies unchosen ahead.


So... In essence: Our characters, like most Time Travelers, are born with their special abilities. Sorry for that long explanation :'D I suppose that covered more than your original question had asked, but I've been meaning to add all of this information to the plot for a while now. I just need to find a fancy way to word things For anyone else that sees this post, please read through! It should clear some things up for you.
