Name:
Maple Alex Komeda

Age:
Eleven

Gender:
Male

Sexuality:
Questioning

Blood Status:
Pureblood

Personality:
Maple is a determined and stubborn child. When he gets his mind on something he'll get it done or accomplished, no matter what anyone says. Mostly cause he is impatient and hates waiting for anything. He is by no means a brat at all and refuses to consider himself entitled. He doesn't have much grace, he normally trips over something or gets hurt on a daily basis.
He gets labeled as weak for his structure and for which, gets Maple irritated and causes him to snap at the person who even mentions it. In fact, he refuses to be seen as weak, even if it hurts him in the process. Although he may come off as brash, he's not in the least bit. He is very logical with things he does, always observing and calculating the situation.
For a child he is courageous and even if he was scared he doesn't show it. Maple really cares about others, especially his own family and friends. If someone manages to befriend him, They'll have a loyal friend who would punch faces if he saw someone hurt them.

Maple is a very strong-willed and spirited boy, he doesn't give up on a task he's set himself on. He works to it and makes sure it gets done and if it fails he keeps trying. He doesn't let his weaknesses get the better of him and let it define who he is. He is awkward in social situations and gets nervous talking to people he hasn't gotten to know. He's been known to freeze up in very large crowds and suffers from claustrophobia.

He actually likes to make friends when he gets comfortable around someone, he just takes a bit to warm up to new people. The boy is always seen with a smile and warm gestures. He is polite and kindhearted but, doesn't let himself get walked over. He has a strong backbone and speaks his mind and sometimes regrets if he was rude. He can be very apologetic in this case. He is easily scared but tries to hide it from others in an effort not to burden anyone. He is still just a child and tends to act like one at times. He sometimes has his head in the clouds, thinking mostly to himself without a thought of what is going on around him. The can label him as a dreamer or sometimes airheaded.

Background:
Maple's earliest memory was warm arms and a smiling woman. He knew who it was, he guessed it was his mother because she always smiled at him like that. Throughout his early childhood Maple had a strict schedule that his parents made sure he followed it. Normally piano lessons and schoolwork, he had a teacher for both. He was expected to be presentable, have good manners and show class. Even though all that Maple kept a friendly and optimistic attitude. Maple always looked up to his parents and was always determined to make them happy. He enjoyed when he could spend time with them. It was when he was seven that Maple was exposed to the Wizarding World. Maple was fascinated and wide-eyed like a kid in a candy shop. The worlds he read in his favorite muggle books were real and before his eyes. When his parents sat him down and told him about Hogwarts and how when he was twelve he would attend, Maple was determined to read all he could about magic. His father had given him some old school books and even though he forgot easily, he still grasped on to the important things. He waited impatiently for his eleventh birthday when it did, Sunset arrived with his acceptance letter.

HufflepuffFirst Year Student

Name: Kayla Bristlewood

Age: 11

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Blood Status: Half-blood

Personality: Kayla is an affectionate sort of person. Gentle, caring, compassionate, she has a habit of feeding/taking in strays that she sees. To a friend, she'd be the first to offer a shoulder to cry on. Even if they weren't a friend she'd probably still do the same. She can't ignore the suffering in front of her eyes. According to her father, she'd been that way ever since she was born. She'd cry when others cried. Didn't react well with when exposed to negative emotions. As she grew older, her reactions tempered, but her sensitivity to her surroundings remain. Kayla is happy when others are happy and therefore enjoys contributing to the happiness and well-being of others.

Kayla doesn't live in her head. She likes to get things done. To create things. She appreciates the beauty of the physical world with her five senses and wants to contribute to it. She has a strong aesthetic sense and finds comfort in natural surroundings. The smell of grass. The sight vivid blue skies. Staying indoors for a long amount of time doesn't suit her and she'll easily grow bored or sad when forced to do. She supplements this by keeping a plant in her room to keep her focused when she's studying. Listening to music helps as well, especially sounds from nature.

Kayla doesn't want to control others nor does she like to be controlled. She has a strong set of core values and feels uncomfortable making decisions solely based on logic. She's a sensitive person and feelings are always taken into consideration when she decides something. Both hers and other people involved. The problem occurs when these feelings clash. Kayla can easily become indecisive, has a hard time picking between friends, and may walk away from a fight if it becomes too emotional (not because it's the smart thing to do but because she doesn't like tension).

Kayla isn't shy, but she'd difficult to get to know because she is reserved and doesn't like to express herself unless it's to the people she's close to. She's polite enough when dealing with others. Will always offer a helping hand when she sees someone needs it. However, she rarely ever asks for help herself. Kayla is independent, likes doing things on her own, and as a result has harder time making friends (with humans) despite her kind disposition. The bright side is that she doesn't make very many enemies either.

Background: Kayla was born in the wizarding community to a pureblood father and a muggle mother. Her father, Gideon Bristlewood, traveled around a lot as a magizoologist and met his mother on one of his trips to the U.S. where they fell in love and married. Gideon inherited the Magical Menagerie from his grandmother and the couple moved to Diagon Alley to settle and start a family. The first few years were wonderful. However, as time passed, Helen Bristlewood would have a hard time adjusting to the new environment. She missed the gadgets that made life easier. She couldn't use magic like those around her. She felt constantly judged by those who could do things she couldn't. Helpless to deal with magical situations as they arise without the help her husband. And, as much as she tried not to, she took out her frustrations on her spouse.

Eventually, when Kayla was four, the two realized they were both making each other (and Kayla) miserable by living together and divorced.

Since then, Kayla lived part of her life with her father in the wizarding world and part of her life with her mother in the muggle one. She was the link between her two parents. Fortunately, they separated on amiable terms and never forced her to choose between them. Her mother still contacts her father when magical accidents happened and both were still invested in her care. Kayla held hope that they would eventually get back together for her sake. That hope died when her mother remarried. Kayla couldn't fault the muggle for making her mother happy. She even rather liked her new stepfather. However, she ended up spending more time living with her biological father in the wizarding world out of consideration for the newlywed couple.

Deep down though, she was probably avoiding them.

Then her Hogwarts letter came.

Family: Gideon Bristlewood (Father), Helen Harding (Mother), Johnathan Harding (Stepfather), Felicia and Felix Bristlewood (paternal grandparents)

Wand: 10 and 1/2 inch Alder wood with a Unicorn Hair core.

Patronus: Blue butterfly.

Other:
  • She attended a muggle primary school.
  • Since she lives in Diagon Alley, most of the time, she often sees Hogwarts students and even interacts with them on several occasions.
  • She's good at dealing with animals, magical or otherwise.
  • Knows how to play the harp (not professional level obviously)
  • While she's not very much a sports enthusiast, her father is a Wimbourne Wasp fan, so she has a slight preference for that team.
  • Upon her acceptance to Hogwarts her father gifted her with a friend--a smart little toad she named Bart.
  • She has a lovely voice.

History of Magic Professor
87d83e94f7fd2b40c965b84797bd3110.jpg
Name: Nicholas Grimald

Age: 34

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Unknown. He seems to be married to his books.

Blood Status: Pureblood.

Personality: Nicholas is a truth seeker above all else. He likes to know things. To discover and learn. To solve mysteries. He also likes being right, but is willing to accept when he's wrong if it leads to the right answer. Working in the news industry has made him aware of the various ways the truth can be painted. The history books don't always record the truth. History is written by the victors. This doesn't sit well with Nicholas who values the truth and, as a consequence, hates when he is lied to. He prefers dealing with those who are openly dislike him than those who do so secretly.

Despite that, he's not very fit and doesn't take very good care of his body. He doesn't exercise anything but his mind, has to be reminded to eat, and can't be expected asked to do much manual labor other than lifting a book or two. Even lifting his own staff is a bit burdensome. If it wasn't for the fact that it was a family heirloom passed down from his deceased father, and their father before them, Nick would've preferred a wand similar to his old one (which broke when he accidentally stepped on it).

He's messy. The house elves love him. Or hate him. Depends on the elf. Either way, if it weren't for them, his classroom (and his living space) would be a clutter that he can't be bothered to clean since he's focused on more important things in his mind. When he's locked on one thing, nothing else matters to him.

Nicholas is nosy, but at the same time, has a strong survival instinct. As interested as he is in others, Nick enjoys being an impartial observer and doesn't tend to get involved. You won't see him jumping to take the lead. Instead, he'd rather sit back and record the actions of others. He has a great memory, but that also means he holds grudges well as well. He is logical, calculative, innovative, curious, disorganized, a little spiteful, somewhat self serving, but mostly desires to shine a light on the darkness.

He's not reserved, quite open with his opinions when it's safe to do so, but not the type to get emotionally attached either.

Background: He attended Hogwarts in the year 1997 when he was 11 years old. Many things happened that year, but most notable to the boy was the occupation of Hogwarts School of Wizardry by Death Eaters. His parents almost didn't let him attend but little Nick was determined not let some dark wizards undermine his education. Since the Grimald line consisted of mostly purebloods, Nick was relatively safe compared to some of his other peers. Still. His first year was uncomfortable to say the least. Sorted into Ravenclaw, Nick kept his head down and his nose in his books. He was too young to participate in the Battle of Hogwarts anyway and chose to remain an onlooker to the historic events that unfolded before him.

It was this, as well as befriending of many Hogwarts' ghosts, that sparked Nick's interest in history. Learning the truth about their lives and deaths unaccounted for in books drove his desire to learn more. Upon graduating from Hogwarts, Nicholas Grimald did a lot of research on his regarding the events that shaped the magical world. He wrote many documentaries including his own accounts of life in Hogwarts under Death Eater rule, believing strongly that it's by the learning of past mistakes that future ones can be prevented. He worked in the Daily Prophet for 10 years before deciding that he wanted to be a teacher instead.

He'd been learning from his old Professor, Cuthbert Binns, until two years ago.

Family: Wanda Grimald (mother), Chelsea Grimald (younger sister), Marion Grimald (younger brother).

Occupation: He was the Assistant Professor for Professor Cuthbert Binns's class until two years ago. His current post is History of Magic Professor.

Length of Tenure at Hogwarts: 5 years - though he's only fully taught History of Magic for 2 years, ever since Binns got exorcised. There are rumors that he might've been the one responsible for it since he and the ghost never really got along (frequent debates about the accuracy of some historical details), but it's mostly all hogwash. Or is it?

Wand: N/A. He seems to use a staff made of cherrywood.

Patronus: American Alligator

Other:
  • He's the adviser for Hogwart's newspaper club as well as the Head of the Slytherin House.
  • If he's not in the newspaper club room or the Slytherin common room, he's in the library drowning in reading material.
  • He's a skilled legilimens and occlumens.
  • His family is actually quite old, with a long-standing history of skirmishes against goblins. Therefore they don't really use Gringotts.

Name: Piper Lewis
Age: 11
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Blood Status: Muggleborn
Personality:
Piper is an energetic, talkative person most of the time. You can definitely tell if somethings wrong with her, because she will fall silent and dull. She’s got a lot of positivity though, and she tends to always look for the best in people, no matter how bad they are, except Slytherins of course. The girls clumsy, and almost always embarrassing herself. Piper doesn’t mind it much though, because she enjoys seeing people laugh, even if it’s at her.

Though she tends to stay positive, kind, and energetic, Piper isn’t afraid to lash out at anyone who gets on her nerves. She won’t deal with anyone making fun of her friends, either. She doesn’t do well with being second best, she always has to be the best and will often get angry if someone outdoes her.

Piper isn’t the smartest, but likes to learn, even though she’s not the best at it. Most things go in one of her ears, and straight out the other. She tries her best though. She tends to talk when other people are talking, and gets into trouble, but she doesn’t mind that because she can’t stop herself from talking any less.
Background: Piper grew up a muggle, going to normal muggle school. In school, Piper wasn’t the most popular, people tended to call her “weird” and “a misfit”. Piper didn’t let the names get to her head to much though, she always knew she was different, but didn’t exactly understand how.

In muggle school, Piper had two best friends she was close with. They’d do anything for her, and she’d do anything for them. They always were spending time together. Her parents knew what was happening to her in school and felt extremely bad, so they’d always try to make it up to her the best they could, no matter what it was they did.

She had a rather loving family, her and her older brother were close as well. Her grandmother had died no long after she was born, so Piper doesn’t remember her at all, but knew she was a good person. Her and her brother often spent time together when their father was out on business trips. Her father was a wealthy man, well her mother only had a half time job.

Eventually, Pipers parents grew to not love each other, and ended up getting a divorce. Piper moved in with her mother, considering her father was always out on trips. Her brother went between the two, unlike her. Piper has no clue what’s going on in her fathers life, except what her brother tells her. She doesn’t really mind it that way however.

Jared+Gilmore+Jared+Gilmore+Films+Once+Upon+t3DBuNmuhhbl.jpg
Name: Matthew "Matty" Turley
Age: Eleven
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Bisexual
Blood Status: Half-blood
Personality:
Due to his upbringing, Matthew has learned many bad habits. Always being yelled at he learned to lie, there wasn't much he couldn't persuade someone to believe. He is rather defensive and is afraid of being wrong. He is quiet, enjoys his privacy, and likes watching people fly, but if he feels threatened he'll act impulsively or evasive. While he is often pessimistic if you are someone he cares about he will be fiercely loyal to and will do anything to protect you. He's cautious around people he doesn't know and has a hard time truly trusting anyone. Most people dislike his somewhat cynical take on things, which fuels his insecurities. Matthew is also a rather jealous person especially when it comes to parents and friends. That being said he is rather independent and resourceful and strives to do his best.

Whenever he finds himself getting excited or looking forward to something, he gets really paranoid that he'll get in trouble. He's a big jokester with anyone that he feels comfortable with, but he refused to show this to anyone else.

Background:
Matthew's father, a pureblood wizard, found himself in love with a muggle woman. Against his family's wishes, he pursued her and eventually married her. Their love was one of a fairytale, little gifts and thoughtful surprise was nothing out of the ordinary. Their life only got better when little Kerria was born, like a bundle of joy she lit up their lives. When Matthew was born they felt it couldn't possibly get better, and they were right. When Matthew was only three his father and sister died, it was tragic for not only him, but his mother. She sunk into a depression, finding two of the lights of her life suddenly gone. Matthew still young and slightly oblivious only saw his sister and father absent, and his mother reclusive.

Matthew became very independent. It wasn't until his father's mother came over to visit, after not seeing him for a while, that anyone really seemed to notice him. She was shocked and saddened by the women she knew only being that of a numb shell. Deciding this was no place for Matthew she offered to let him live with her for a while. Thinking his mother simply stopped loving him he agreed. After four years of fending for himself, Matthew finally felt loved again. His grandmother showered him with hugs whenever he wanted and he grew quite attached to her, but that only lasted a year. His mother seemed to come out of her shell but only to love a man named Julius. Matthew found his name funny, which his mother scolded him for. Julius wasn't mean per se but he also wasn't nice. His mother agreed to let him stay with his grandmother over the summer but other than that she forbid it.

All pictures and memories of his father and sister disappeared in Matthews's absence. Now replaced by sports memorabilia and pictures of his mother and Julius. Matthew felt like a stranger in his own home. He rarely talked and when he did it was always to defend himself. He learned how to lie and be sneaky in order to not get in trouble. His life was hell with his mother and he found himself counting down the days until summer.

When he received his letter from Hogwarts he was thrilled, his grandmother sat him down and explained everything. Showing him pictures of his father in his early school days and even him flying on brooms. As his grandmother explained to him the wonderful world that he was apart of he felt closer than ever to his father.

Name: Joyce Landers
Age: Twenty-five and a half
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bisexual
Blood Status: Pureblood
Personality: Like a bubbling brook Joyce is always moving, anywhere she goes she does with a bright and cheerful smile. She just wants others to be happy and does everything she can to make learning enjoyable. She's a romantic at heart and often reads romance novels, even though she is an adult she feels that is how true love will be. If a student ever needed help she'd offer to tutor them until they understood the material, even if it weren't for her subject. She feels as though she is a "cool mom" even though she doesn't have children.

Background: Growing up with two pureblood parents Joyce never knew anything but magic. Her mother being a french native insisted she attended Beauxbatons like her. While Joyce's fashion is still inspired by her uniforms growing up, her personality seemed not to be be affected by the elegant school. She often stood out for being a little odd but didn't let it get to her. She tried to maintain that idea throughout her life and even encouraged others to be their true self. She fell in love rather young at the age of nineteen, she thought he was the on until he broke her heart after five years of bliss. She tried not to let it get to her, but her heart did feel as if part of her was missing. Deciding she needed a change she applied to Hogwarts. She hopes the change of scenery and schedule will bring her back to her whole self.

Name: Ned Banner
Age: 12
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Hetero
Blood Status: Muggleborn
1582343835667.png
Personality:
Ned is quite standoffish and quick to get into fights/competitions. He is very competitive but also very diligent. He puts a lot of effort into trying to do the best he can in all aspects of his life. This results in him often ending up overworked and exhausted which tends to make his attitude worse.

He usually refuses to back down and often requires others to keep him from overworking. When he doesn’t have anything to focus his efforts on he does act like a normal kid, but he gets bored easily so usually finds himself something to do. He is very protective of his friends and while he’d never do their work for them he would usually try to guide them without making it seem like he’s helping. He likes to pretend that he’s better than others but underneath he is very happy when he has friends.

Despite his diligence, he isn’t one to follow rules should they interfere with his work, but prefers to “creatively manoeuvre” around them.

Background: Ned grew up in a fairly ordinary household. His parents had no concept of magic and worked hard. They were quite strict and stood by their beliefs that hard work takes precedence and that there are no shortcuts to life. When Ned first began manifesting magic abilities they believed that he was simply using euphemisms to get around admitting he was cheating and Ned would often be punished by having to study more or work more. While his parents were never neglectful or abusive, they loved him dearly and just wished for him to become a good member of society, their attitude towards Ned’s difference led him to work harder and harder to hone these strange things to prove to his parents that it was real.

Ned’s efforts weren’t in vain and compared to most premature wizards and witches he had more control over his magic than most, but it still took the letter from Hogwarts explaining what his powers were and a ministry official arriving with it to finally get Ned’s parents to acknowledge that what he was doing wasn’t tricking them. Ned went with the official to Diagon Alley with his parents high expectations and the determination to grow into one of the best wizards he could be.

Family: Kevin/Mary Banner (Father/Mother), Melody/Frank Turtle (Maternal grandparents), Bartholemew “:Barty” Banner (Paternal Uncle).
Wand: 9.3 inch Ebony with Phoenix Feather
Patronus: Elephant
Other: Ned is tall for his age, he played football and magically was quite good at bending the ball into the goal.
Ned is a parstlemouth and has a pet Boa Constrictor

Name: Fira King
Age: 31
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Bi-sexual
Blood Status: Pure Blood
1582344038409.pngAppearance: She doesn’t wear the traditional robes a wizard would, instead choosing to wear clothes that are easy to move and travel in, often wrapped in a thick cloak and always wearing a pair of red-rimmed black sunglasses. She is quite muscled under her clothes and has many burns and scars on her arms.
Personality: Bright and excitable, there is little that can get Fira down. She takes great pleasure in learning new things and imparting that knowledge to younger kids. She is very boisterous and has a tendency to wrestle with the magical creatures she works with. She loves flying around on her broom, a brand new Firebolt 2.0, and tries to teach the younger students the joy of flying, particularly the muggleborns. She has zero interest in the blood of a person and lets their actions define her view. As such she tends to give out points fairly easily to students who just enjoy her classes.
Background: Fira was raised in a fairly big household, though her father was simply a donor for her mothers he and his family still treated Fira as their own and she was doted on by the Popfinger family from a young age. The Popfinger family ran one of the oldest potion shops in the UK which had been passed down the family for several centuries. Though pure blood, they were quite accepting of the Kings. At 10 years old though, Fira was bitten by a werewolf while out helping her grandfather get potion ingredients. Fira was terrified she wouldn’t get her letter to Hogwarts but was amazed when it arrived for her, under the condition that her potion master grandfather regularly supplied her the wolfsbane to keep her and the rest of the students safe. She diligently drank her potions before every full moon but was also sent to the shrieking shack for added security.

She graduated from Hogwarts with several NEWTs and became a magizoologist, studying dragons in Romania for some time before moving back to the UK to take the Care of Magical Creatures post. Her experience flying on brooms (to avoid dragon fire) also got her the temporary position filling in for the Flying teacher who was away on maternity leave.

Family: Salemna/Diane King (Muggle-Mother/Pure-blood Birth-Mother) Richard Popfinger II (Pure-blood Father), Angus King (Muggle Brother - adopted), Silvanus King (Maternal Grandfather), Marianne/Richard Popfinger (Paternal grandparents)

Occupation: Ex Dragon Researcher, currently Care of Magical Creatures teacher and Flying Teacher (temporary)
Length of Tenure at Hogwarts: 4 years
Wand: 11.5 inch Ash Thunderbird Tail feather

Blood Status Pureblood
Personality: Victor is a very strict teacher in classes. He only is that way, because he thinks it’s best for his students learning. He can raise his voice, but never yell unless outraged. Out of the classroom however, he’s easy going. He’s rather friendly and bubbly. He walks around with a bit of a bounce to his step. It’s as if he’s a completely different person. He’s very over confident with himself, and always thinks he’s right, when only half the time he is.
Background: Being born to a pureblood family was a great advantage for Victor. He grew up surrounded by magic. He had a line of Gryffindors, both his parents and grandparents, and great grandparents were all Gryffindors. Victor was confident he was going to follow in his footsteps, and rather surprised when he didn’t and became a Hufflepuff instead. He didn’t mind however, he stayed cheerful no matter what. Rosaline Crozier --- Rambunctious Farmgirl --- Half-blood --- Deaf

Professor of Astronomy
mark-kassikhin-meister-00001.jpgName: Edmund Faulkner
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Blood Status: Squib (Close-guarded secret, shared only with the Headmaster. May be suspected/known by other instructors but certainly never officially acknowledged.)

Appearance Notes: Carries himself according to the height of tradition, though he refuses to wear a robe for fear that it could be construed as disrespectful towards, well, real wizards. Instead opts for classical suits and vests.

Personality: A quietly intense and excitable man, Edmund has always been one of the more reserved members of the teaching staff. He can nearly always be found hidden away in his private office, nose tucked firmly between the pages of his many textbooks and eyes glued to his telescope. In fact, it wouldn’t be at all unfair to say that he puts an entirely unhealthy determination into his work, as he often forgoes matters of private interest in favor of obsessively modifying his students’ lesson plans and lecture notes. While this self-driven neglect could hardly be called ideal, it would be dishonest to say it didn’t have at least some benefit, and Edmund’s efforts are continually evident in his classes. He is always entirely—and comfortably—in control of the room and all of its happenings. In fact, some would say he seems almost too prepared for even the most unexpected of interruptions; taking every blow in perfect stride and continuing onwards with unbroken grace. This is all, of course, in an effort to prove to himself and to the Headmaster that he does, in fact, deserve his position despite his… Condition.
On a more personal note, Edmund is the perfect picture of a professional gentleman: Kind, agreeable, accepting, honest, and reliable to the bitter end. He's a true thinker who only very rarely loses himself to his emotions and constantly strives to be seen as nothing less than the confident, inspired academic that he believes himself to be.

Background: Born to a modest half-blood line, it was a matter of great disappointment for Edmund’s family when it became apparent at a young age that he held none of the magical inclination that he, by all rights, should have possessed. It was no real surprise when, even as the time came and went, he never did receive his letter of invitation to Hogwarts. Still, by that time he had already been enrolled in a respectable muggle school and was well on his way to his own idea of success. Though time went on, as it always does, Edmund never did lose touch with the magical world, and he always wondered how his life may have been different had he not been cursed with his inability. He went on to find a passion for astronomy and its companion studies, even developing something of an infatuation for aerospace engineering which he has never lost. It was through this passion (and some kind encouragement from friends in the wizarding world) that he became set on returning to the life that he had never really gotten to know, and, more specifically, fulfilling his childhood dreams of attending Hogwarts. It took no small measure of effort to convince the Headmaster to give him a chance despite the obvious complications, and he remains just as much of a student—to the school and to the wizarding world at large—as the ones he teaches, but, when it comes to his subject of expertise, there can be no question of his skill and understanding. This, combined with his unique perspective on the wizarding world, has made him a capable member of the teaching staff, and much of his daily life is committed to upholding his responsibilities to the very best of his abilities—even when that comes at the cost of his own personal desires.

    Name: Ravenna Ravenwood
    Age: Eleven
    Gender: Female
    Orientation: Bisexual
    Blood Status: Pureblood

Personality: Belonging to one of the oldest pureblood families in the country, Ravenna is a chip off the old block. She's haughty, patronizing, and thinks herself above everyone else. She has an unfortunate tendency to view those who aren't purebloods as being lesser than herself (and even then, people have to be from the 'right' family to have her esteem). She does, however, respect and admire skill as well as pedigree, so she can look up to a competent wizard of a less 'honorable' lineage.

She pursues her goals with alacrity and ruthless self-interest and, as a result, rubs most people the wrong way and is terrible at making friends. This results in her feeling lonely a lot of the time, though she's so proud she would rather die than admit to it. Mostly, she craves admiration and recognition and will often push herself past the point of caution or sense to achieve it. She enjoys the company of animals, with which she feels more at ease than most people, and curling up with a book.

Background: The Ravenwoods are a very old and filthy rich pureblood wizarding family (and most of them have a great propensity and aptitude for the Dark Arts). Most of them currently live in the U.S., and are very well-known, but the remaining British branch has passed somewhat into obscurity. Most of them live lives of professional leisure as painters, art collectors, theatre patrons and the like. The newest generation has, however, decided to reclaim the former glory of their family name, and are hellbent on proving themselves and accomplishing great things.

Yume Wicker

d136df9c0a589b728c637c1e6b7ca4b0.jpg
Age: 32

Gender: Female

Sexuality: Bisexual

Blood Status: Pureblood

Personality
Despite being a stern instructor, after seeing how academic pressure affected students back at Mahoutokoro, Yume made it a point to never raise a voice at a student during class. Despite her kindness and humor, she can be scarily protective over anyone harming or harassing her students. It can be clearly seen that Yume came from a prestigious family as there Is an air of elegance around her, but there is a gentle kindness to her and a great storm always lurking near.

Background:

Born to the Tanaka family, Yume belonged to a life already laid out for her. As a gifted pure-blood, she was taught to uphold the prestigious standards. After graduating from Mahoutokoro as a top student, Yume went on to work for the Japanese Ministry of Magic as an Auror. While her career was taking off, Yume met Samuel Wicker, a muggle working in Japan as an English teacher. Despite her family's great disapproval, Yume married Samuel and together they had a son. From then on the stubborn and proud witch became more bright and kind. Not wanting to bring danger into her new life, she left her job as an Auror and took a position with Mahoutokoro as a DADA professor there.

That was all anyone really knew of her background before she transferred over to Hogwarts. Only the headmaster knows of the tragedy involving her husband and son. Though Yume hides her sadness and grief well from others, it isn't too hard to see a hint of that whenever she talks about her homeland.

Family:

Kouga Tanaka - Father - Pureblood

Yuma Tanaka - Mother - Pureblood

Yuuna Tanaka - Sister - Pureblood

Samuel Wicker - Husband - Muggle - Deceased

Sora Wicker - Son - Halfblood - Deceased

9db305b3251e303b8467837b76b6a361.jpg
Age: 12
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Questioning
Blood Status: Half-blood

Personality
Dorian has always had a sense of selflessness about him that came about being raised to always lend a helping hand in need. A good-hearted person was something Dorian had always strived to be. But because of his blood malediction, Dorian lives in anxious fear of hurting those around him and that one day he would never regain his body back.
Despite all of his troubles, however, he never fails to try to make someone smile or befriend a stranger.

Background
His father Augustus was a curse-breaker working out of Egypt where eventually he met his wife Mariam. After the second wizarding war, the Bells decided to become missionaries and go around the world helping war-torn communities.
When Dorian was born, his parents brought him along their travels. Unfortunately for him, a blood malediction surfaced in him, a result of a curse placed on an ancestor from his father's side. It causes him to blackout for moments at a time and put into a tranced state unable to control his actions. It happens on rare occasions, and so far only has occurred about 5 times in his life. But the tranced state he is in can only be described as violent and malicious. Though he is unable to recall what happens during these episodes, the same horrifying feeling always washes over him whenever he wakes up.

Despite hardly stepping foot in London, Dorian received his letter from Hogwarts. It was something to do with his father's legacy there, who ended being head boy back in his day. Skeptical of stepping away from his family and experiencing a blackout while at Hogwarts, it was ultimately his father's words that inspired him to accept the invitation -"Don't let fear or this curse define who you are. No matter where you are or where you go, there will always be someone to help".

Family:
Augustus Bell - Father - Pureblood
Mariam Bell - Mother - Muggle

Wand: 11 inch Aspen wood, unicorn hair
Patronus: Bloodhound

Estelle Burstwick
ESL2CjgVAAAJ4DL.jpeg

Age:
12

Gender:
Female

Sexuality:
???

Blood Status:
Pureblood

Personality:
Estelle is oft described as a precocious child who seems to understand more than she lets on, but at the same time, seems to lack some of the tact that the others tend to have. She is extremely blunt and quite decisive with her words, yet she tends to exhibit a strange calculativeness to her actions, almost as if all of what she does contains a certain reason behind them, and her delivery is often calm and measured; cool, even. She never pursues a matter without good reason and profit, and is like to abandon an idea as soon as she realizes that she will gain nothing from it.

What she seeks, even if she doesn't seem to know it just yet, is simple- self-amelioration. She wants to improve herself, to climb up to the top with her own bare hands, clawing her way to the peak, she seeks power. She hates it when her abilities are attributed to her father's own, and wants to become her own witch, so to speak. She admonishes those who think this, claiming that were Merlin's child not pursue the very same venture of magic, then even he would not be as great as his father. She has nurtured this ambition since her youth, ever since she could speak, and it burns within her still.

Despite her ambition and her genius, however, she still possesses something of a heart. True, she can and will play dirty in a competition where possible, locating loopholes to punch through and get a leg up on her competitors, but she holds a certain disdain for outright cheating and backstabbing, holding one's word as the greatest form of respect. In her father's name, she would never besmirch her honor to climb over the bodies of others that desperately. She exhibits something of a certain respect for those she sees as 'friends', and though she has misgivings about...certain blood and backgrounds of some witches and wizards due to her upbringing, she knows how to respect ability.

Background:
Daughter to Augustus Burstwick, known as a genius amongst his peers, who dabbled in researching magic, seeking a way to further exploit its strengths. Estelle has never met her mother, and her father speaks little of her. Perhaps she is dead, perhaps she had left her father, Estelle never really cared much for her. She had reasoned that, if she was dead, then there was little she could do to fix that, and if she didn't bother to know her daughter in the case of the latter, then she was better off not knowing who she was in the first place.

Perhaps it was just her father's influence, but Estelle grew up with ambition. Her father wasn't neglectful, but he wasn't the best father either, for he lacked the tact to be one. This molded Estelle into the girl she is today- a young witch who sought power and to improve herself, troublingly rough around the edges, lacking tact and common social skills, but ultimately rather intelligent, and possessing something of a warm core beneath her callous ways.

She was called to Hogwarts at 11, but due to an accident that destroyed her left eye beyond repair, even with magic, she only arrived a year after.

Family:
Augustus Burstwick - Father
Unknown - Mother

Wand:
12.4 inches long, made of Elder Oak with phoenix feather core. Particularly temperamental and hard to control, it would seem as if Estelle has yet to earn its full loyalty. Still, she deems it a fairly reliable partner when it needs to be- the wand chose her for a reason, after all. Its shape is very basic, and features little, if any, customisation. She occasionally scolds it as if it were a living thing.

Patronus:
Arctic Wolf

Other:
Her left eye is a magical prosthetic, though a cheap one. It doesn't allow her sight that most modern magical prosthetics do, but it does follow her working eye's movements. Though she can easily purchase a functioning magical eye, she doesn't seem to mind this one too much, claiming that so if it goes awry due to magical interference or otherwise, she doesn't need to rely on it.

Name: Lenore Cova
Age: 12 (January 10)
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Blood Status: Pureblood
Appearance:
Lenore.jpg
"I'll return the books before they're due, I promise!"
Personality: Lenore doesn't find magic to be the best option to solve many, if any, problems, that doing it yourself is not also an answer. While she is intelligent and quite capable on paper, in practice she has a tendency to go for, what she believes to be, the more obvious solution, which often involves doing the wand's work for it. If told to defeat someone, for example, Expelliarmus would be the expected response, or Stupify, but to Lenore that would seem counter-productive. After casting that spell, if you miss you are completely open to attack from your opponent in the window of time before you can say your next incantation. Better to put up a shield, run up, and tackle the other person. Most people can't cast spells if they can't hold their wand, after all. A thing she'd learned growing up in a house with older brothers.
The way she sees it, having grown up in a family of four other wizards that were seemingly mystified by her ability to get on without magic, is that if you rely on magic for everything, you'll be unable to do anything without it. So if something can be done without magic, she'll try to do it without, first. This will probably get her in trouble a lot when something like an altercation where popping a defensive spell or maybe expelliarmus would be the acceptable or preferred response, she would likely just up and punch the other person in the nose. It is likely that if she would turn that dedication in the other direction she could become much better at casting by a long shot.
Despite being booksmart, Lenore is not social-smart. She isn't very good with school politics and major events she wasn't a part of often completely go over her head, as she tends to prefer study over conversation. She sees academics as the priority, which makes her something of an outcast.
Lenore isn't very good at forming relationships, either. The disconnect with her family when she was thought a squib meant she barely spoke to them. She doesn't quite understand group dynamics or how to relate with other people, making her seem detached and smarter-than-thou to some people. She spends more time on her goals than she does with socializing, which might not bode well for her upon graduation as she lacks people skills.
Also something of a teacher's pet, as sometimes the best way to get help with schoolwork is to be in your teacher's good graces, Lenore tends to ask a lot of questions in class, or at least attempt to, and take more notes than is reasonable. Her pack is filled with scraps of paper and notes and homework assignments.
An analyst, when faced with a problem she'll try to figure out all her options first. Playing chess with her is a nightmare, it's just a puzzle to her, with options laid out and the proper path coming together.
Background:
Lenore's family, having already produced three successful, magical children and being somewhat active in the wizard community in the Americas, had high expectations for her when she was born. Being born to such a family, how could she not be gifted?
Except she wasn't. While her brothers and sister had shot sparks and made things disappear when their abilities manifested, Lenore... didn't.
Being the youngest child in a large family is hard. Being what essentially amounts to a cripple is even worse. The family was adamant that she was just a late bloomer, she'd develop eventually, she had to! Months and years passed by. She approached and then passed the age her siblings had manifested with no signs of magic herself. She approached wizard school age, and her parents were forced to admit, they had produced a squib. Lenore would not be going to a wizard school and making friends with other wizards, it seemed.
So she was enrolled in public muggle school while her family tried not to make her feel bad for what was essentially a crippling disability in their world. They accomplished the exact opposite in their efforts. Lenore's siblings stopped talking to her about their friends and things that happened at their school. Her parents went quiet when she entered a room they were in. It was very obvious she was a drag on the family.
Well, if being around was a problem, she would simply avoid her family.
Burying herself in her textbooks, Lenore focused entirely on schoolwork. If being a squib meant she couldn't function in wizard society, then by all means she would thrive in muggle society! Study, study, study.
She started acing tests in school and came out of fifth grade with straight A's. It's funny how, when magic is out of the picture, your ability to use your brain will get you anywhere.
Apparently, life likes to screw around with Lenore. The confidence boost she got in functioning fantastically in muggle school and social functions was apparently a catalyst, because as she and her mum were filling out paperwork to register for middle school, the stack just exploded. No wind or fans were blowing, the paper was clipped and stapled. One minute it was organized, and the next her physical and her transcripts were over there, over there, and up there.
Seeing as Lenore was, for all intents and purposes, a squib, Nevva's first assumption was that Michael or John were pulling a prank. Except they weren't even in the house. Then she thought Sylvia was responsible, except she was asleep. Finally, Nevva shouted at Lawrence for his loose spell destroying two weeks of wrangling the muggle school and medical systems for the paperwork they needed to get their daughter into middle school. Except his wand was in his desk, in the study, two rooms over.
This shouting triggered another spurt of magic, literally. Nevva's curios started shooting water from every orifice, which wasn't a function on any of them. Someone was screwing around, had to be, so Nevva grabbed Lenore to get her out of there, and was promptly zapped.
Two plus two came together. There was a short period of silence, Lenore terrified because she had no idea what was going on, before the Cova parents erupted in cheers. Lenore was just a really, really late bloomer, not a cripple! This was great, the family wasn't a joke anymore!
To celebrate this occasion, her parents took her straight to the local wizard center to speak with an official and get her put back on the birth registry, and get her enrolled in a proper wizard school.
Except Lenore didn't want to go to the same school her siblings had. It was more than just because she couldn't connect with them anymore, she already had plans go to a private school abroad and get her degrees, and here that path was being disrupted by something she'd known all her life she'd never be able to do.
Well, if she couldn't follow the path she'd already set herself upon, she'd be damn near close to it! If she had to go to a wizard school, she'd go to the best. After busting her tail for so long in muggle school to get so far, she wasn't going to accept the nearest school that happened to be within owl distance. Lenore wanted to go to Hogwarts. An ocean away from the family that made her feel like a freak? Yes please. Prestigious private school abroad? Yes please. High graduation rate and excellent reviews on all available sources? Absolutely. That was the one.
The paperwork and meetings and arrangements took well into the semester. Lenore wasn't joining the wizarding world yet. This is why she ended up receiving her acceptance letter a year later. To celebrate the accomplishment, Nevva bought Lenore a messenger owl, a Northern Saw-Whet she named Wynne.

Charms Professor
Name: John Smith Jr.
Age: 68
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Do you really want to know the preference of a really old man?
Blood Status: Half-Blood
Appearance:
2c0d2f426ba4da20c52007320329e459.jpg
Personality: John Smith is something of the stereotypical old man, often comparing modern practices with idealized versions of practices of "the good old days", which could be anywhere between yesterday and the eighties, depending on which way the wind blows or how his raisin bran tasted that morning.
Due to his difficulty with casting, Smith doesn't wave his wand too often, which makes him seem like a doddering old man to some. More often than not, if he needs a spell cast, he'll find someone who can cast it or give someone a crash course on how to cast it, which factors into his teaching style. He enjoys explaining things, which makes conversation with him a dangerous game.

Background: John was born to a wizard father and a muggle mother. Although Maura was a muggle, John Smith Senior had made her aware of the wizarding world when they began dating, with the understanding that he would modify her memory to exclude it if ever they were forced to separate. Jr, once his magic manifested and he was accepted into Hogwarts, struggled somewhat in school. He was barely average at casting the spells themselves, but with study he came to be able to understand and break down the textbook to his classmates. His professor suggested that perhaps he pursue a career teaching others, since he was so good at it. His father also supported the idea, but it would be many, many years before finally there was an opening as a Charms professor.
Family:
Maura Smith (Mother, Muggle)
John Smith Sr. (Father, Wizard)
Occupation: Charms professor
Length of Tenure at Hogwarts: 4 years
Wand: Hazel with Phoenix tailfeather core, pliant
Patronus: Professor Smith is not actually capable of producing a corporeal Patronus, for some reason.
