Fantasy The School of Aftermath

He lifted her with ease, "Come on, as much as I enjoy sitting in an empty room, exploring this school with you sounds ten times funner.". Simon released her hand reluctantly.

"Alright. Also, funner isn't a word." Aura says, smiling and looking into Simon's eyes.

He rubbed the back of his, "Yes mam, I will be sure to bring my dictionary next time we go on a date." He recognized his mistake, but he wanted to see what she thought.

"Oh I feel hurt, guess you are right, I could never be enough man for you." Simon laughed, blushing just a little, "So, can we be on our way, see what this school has to offer?".

"Yeah, sure." Aura said, walking away. As her back is turned to Simon, she smiles to herself, her giggling floating in her thoughts, not wanting to laugh out loud.

They began walking, "So tell me all I should know about you." Simon was interested in what made this girl tick.

"I don't know anything about myself that's the slightest bit interesting, but if I must, what do you want to know?" Aura calmly states, looking down at her shoes as they walked.

"How a beautiful girl like you developed a self conscious streak." Simon wanted the real Aura, not the fake one to deter people.

"I-I don't know, I was always like this around people." Aura said, her face reddening at his comment. She doesn't think she's beautiful, yet she doesn't know what beautiful exactly is. What is this boy saying?

Simon was coming on strong, but by the redness of her face he felt it ok. "Just try to be relaxed with me Aura, I consider myself a pretty inviting person so I hope I don't make you nervous.".

Aura quickly calmed down at the sound of his voice. She felt a pang in her stomach; it was uncomfortable, uncalled for yet warming. It made her pulse quicken and cheeks burn up. I really like this boy. She thought to herself, shaking her head from the thought.

"O-Okay." She blurts out in the midst of her thinking. Aura suddenly had a confused look on her face. Why is he talking to me? I'm not very pretty and don't have great social skills. What is so intriguing about me? Out of the girls in this school, it's shy Auralee that he decides to talk to.

Simon got serious, she was nervous and red, but why. Simon wasn't intimidating, and yet she relax. "Aura, tsk tsk, I said be relaxed." He chuckled. "You know if all you think about is why I am talking to you, you wont be able to focus on me actually talking to you.".

Auralee nodded slightly and tried to calm herself down. This wasn't going well, was it? She asked herself. As soon as she was calmed down enough, she sighed.

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be, I'm just kidding, you are doing wonderful." Simon was failing and he knew it, "So to the library, you strike me as a someone who enjoys a good book.".

"Yes, I love books," Auralee said smiling at the boy. "It's like going on a long journey in a different universe. I like all books, especially the realistic ones according to the times before the war. That way, I can see how they were before the war." Her voice kept getting louder and louder during that mini speech until it reached a normal voice. She was passionate about some things, and books are one of them.

"Well then, miss Aura, let me show you to the hall library. From there we can see just what kind of journeys you can take me on." Simon smiled, finally he reached similar ground with her. He put his hand on his hip, leaving a space in between his arm and body. "May I?" Simon gestured for her to allow him to escort her.

Aura giggled at his sudden gentleman-like actions. "Oh, yes you may." She said while hooking her arm through his.

"First time I've had a beautiful girl on my arm in a long time." Simon smiled at her, then coughed his smile fading, "Uhm, do you know where the library actually is?".

Ignoring his first comment, she said, "Yeah. I think it's over here." Aura was very unsure though, as when she was exploring she didn't check in the library, as there were groups of people she didn't know headed right towards her at the time.

"Well then, lets go." She ignored my compliment, Simon sighed, flirting wasn't his strong suit anymore. "So realistic books are your favorite, is that all you read?".

"I've read some fantasy ones. Also these kinds of books that they call 'dystopian'. I really like those ones, mostly because it's how they depicted a future. My parents had this one called 'Divergent' hidden on their shelves." Aura said, smiling at the thought of her parents. She likes to look at the good memories with her parents, not the memory when they passed away.

Ajax saw the two from the class room enter the library and start looking around. "Looks like we aren't the only ones that got bored with an empty class room..." He chuckled and said to Skye.

Simon saw Ajax, and looked back on Aura, "Looks like I wasn't the only guy who wanted to meet a beautiful girl, want to go make friends?".

Aura looked at the other two in the room with them, then awkwardly darted her gaze to the floor. "S-Sure," She responded, walking over to the people from her class. She already met Ajax earlier, but now he was with a very pretty girl. Slightly smiling, Aura held out her hand for the girl to shake. "I'm Auralee, b-but you could call me Aura."
