"Well ,I should get going. It's getting late."
I drink the last licks of liqueur out his glass, and carefully put it back on the bar.
The bartender, standing opposite to him, looks up. He almost snoozed away under soft jazzy music
playing in the room.
"It's pouring outside. will you be alright? And it's already late."

I take out a 20 dollar bill, and put it on the counter.
"Keep the change."
I turn around, snatch my briefcase up from the ground, and throw a smile at the tired bartender.
He already stayed open longer for me, I shouldn't burden him any further.
I step outside into the rain. It doesn't really face me.

The lights from the bar flicker off behind me. I'm engulfed by the night.
I look down both ways of the street. The pave walks are empty.
Even the four lane road, which is always jammed at half passed five, is unused.
It's like there's a small sea in front of me, dark and wet.
And all the way on the other coast, there is light. Like a lighthouse I notice it.
Shining through a glass door with a sign that reads "The random hotel"

"Kind of a random name. I guess that's the joke" I think to myself.
"Well, I'm not going home anyway. This might be for the best."
I walk across the road, not even putting effort in looking for cars.
A quick skip here and there over deeper puddles and before I realize I stand at the door.

I only wait for a fraction of a second before I pull on the doorknob.
And I'm inside.
My suit hasn't gotten that wet. Some drops fall of my hands and the bottom of my jacket.
I quickly flick my ears to get some water off of them.
With my free hand I straighten my sleeves and make my way towards the reception.

Current Receptionist
MhnGK9m.jpg

Hello and welcome to TRH, I, apparently, am the current receptionist. It seems the hotel has been having problems and the owner is attending to it. Please kindly step over the robotic maids tumbled throughout the hotel's floor. They seemed to have malfunctioned, hence the absence of the owner, Fawna. Well, let me not blabber further. What room number would you like, we have availability from room 201 to 998? Also, if you're interested in working at the hotel (as you can see, we need some help), please fill out the application below. I'm sure the owner will make time to have an interview with you. Thanks for booking at The Random Hotel. Have a glorious day.

"Who needs a room when you got a flying cafe?" He then whistled and a shy guy airtub crashed through the wormhole. "got this thing off some weird turtle beast over in some hills over yonder."
"Point is, don't need a room."

Owner

Hazel eyes fluttered open at the sound of a being tumbling and falling. She turned her head and first spotted Dog. A warm smile touched her lips then she looked over and saw Mr. Vincent at her door. "Oh, goodness! Mr. Vincent, I am so sorry!" she blurted out. Fawna now was stumbling out of bed; she was still in her pink silky PJs. "Give me one second, Mr. Vincent," she grabbed a professional attire from her closet and rushed to the bathroom to change, but right before she entered, she gave Dog a look saying: What is he doing in MY room? She quickly changed into her usual white button down and black jacket and matching slacks.

With her hand softly placed on Sir Vincent's back, she slowly escorted him out of her room; it was still glowing inside the faint red light that reminded her chaos was still among them. "
Dog, Daisy I don't know what happened that led all of us in my room, but expect to her a full explanation later" She listened to all of her guest's concerns and responded accordingly, "No, they're not insane, but whenever lightning strikes somewhere on this hotel, it causes my beloved bots to go wild." She touched her head as it ached; she felt a mild sized bump. "Hmmm.." she wondered what had happened earlier. "I believe my security guard and went to handle the subsequent floors after handling the Oak Grill bots. If you can help lift the disabled bots and place them sitting in the lobby, I'll call my mechanic to see to them shortly."

As she walked up to the front desk, she saw Bryan, "
Bryan!! What are you doing acting as the receptionist? You're a bartender," she went over behind the counter and shooed him away. "Off to the bar area, shoo, shoo.." Bryan was utterly speechless, but instead of putting up an argument he hurried along to the bar area within the Oak Grill since it was raining outside still. "Hi," she said smiling at KAmber, who looked like a mystical magician,"I'll go ahead and update your information here, so that you're authorized to sell your caffeinated goods." She looked over to Kelfir, a rather handsome rabbit, and attended to him next, "Hey there, is there a specific floor or room you'd like to have, sir?" She took notice that he was slightly wet and gave him an apologetic expression, "Would you, also, like me to get you a towel?"

Amana continued disabling robots until she needed a break. She was breathing heavily. She could still here the thunder. How many more? This was going to take all day, and she wasn't sure how many more she could handle. She stood, and went to the next floor.

Vincent's Wanderings
Name: Mr. Vincent Hemmingwell
Status: Confused

Vincent was naive not to realize she would react to him following them in such a way. She changed rather quickly, too. Still, it was better than a scold and he tried to exhibit forgiveness. Instead, he nodded to her suggestion. The robot maids are like this when they hear thunder and lightning? Well, Vincent didn't have time to think why that was the case. Mechanics definitely sounded like a good idea, too. Vincent walked up to the nearest maid, carrying it--no, they were heavier than they look--dragging it by the shoulders to prop them up on the couches, perfecting their sitting posture slightly. Since it was just a lobby, only a few maids were needed to be placed properly since most of the others had to handle with the guests on their rooms upstairs or work in the facilities instead of tending to guests like the girl did. Speaking of, she tended to some potential clients like nothing crazy was happening.

It seems no matter what, rain or shine, or even maids and knives hinders this hotel's good service. He even heard her tell the man behind the desk to return to the bar they normally tended.

It seemed that two new people have entered through in. The other said they weren't staying, then Vincent thought on whatever was the point of entering? Unless they were a staff (and judging by their looks, they definitely aren't), he must have other more important plans or meetings then just barge in, right? The other, although not speaking, definitely felt like they would require a room. The person kind of reminded him of himself, must be because of the formal attire. He tries not to mind them and let them be attended by the girl.

Dog was glad to see Fawna up and moving again. She shot him a look, but he shrugged, and Daisy cocked her head. He'd made sure she'd gotten to safety, and like Daisy, he didn't exactly mind being followed.

As they went back to the lobby, Dog stuck his hand out to the lizard/dragon/whatever man with five heads, who he recognized from the second floor. "Hey," he said, "I'm Dog. This is Daisy." Daisy gave a happy little pant at her name, sitting down in her unusual way with one leg under her and one leg sticking out to the side. "I recognize you from the second floor, I took care of the maid trying to beat down your bathroom door. You ok bud?"

Molato Granger
Molato woke up hearing a lot of racket going upstairs. He let out a frustrating sigh, bubbles of air came from his mouth and floated to the top of his tank. Usually, water helps with noises on the outside. He climbed out of his tank, now he was sitting on it's edge waiting for his legs to split from his tail. "There you go," Moe looked up and noticed a red glow throughout his room. "I don't remember leaving those lights on..." He walked to the door and saw an automated message: Dear valued guest, we currently have a malfunction with the robotic maids. They are extremely dangerous and some armed. Please remain in your rooms unless you're physically capable of fending off or disabling them. Thank you. Well, that explained the noises upstairs. He wondered why he didn't hear anything outside his door, could he be that DEEP of a sleeper? He walked out of his room and saw several deactivated robots on the floor. "Oh," he mouthed. He went upstairs to see if anyone needed help then he saw Amara, the wolf-girl, pushing buttons and, as he imagined, doing her job. "So, this is your job, huh?" Panic Panic

Vincent's Wanderings
Name: Mr. Vincent Hemmingwell
Status: Confused, but just a bit

While nearly done with moving the maids away, the man within where he believed to be the girl's room walked up to him. Vincent wasn't the one to kneel over and cuddle with someone's pet upon seeing something as cute as that one, but it was still pleasing to look at nonetheless. Vincent didn't find his name weird (he's not sure what they are, although he has seen some dogs from Earth), nor his pet's name. They seem nice to begin with. He's probably a staff member, although his looks don't look like it.

They claim to be his savior when he was stuck in his own room's bathroom. And because of how specific he was, from the second floor to the maid breaking down his bathroom door, he was surprised to even believe him, although Vincent quickly realized it must have looked awkward to have fainted inside the bathroom. Without turning his head around to face Dog due to embarrassment, Vincent replied to the kind sir with his other heads reclining a bit behind his middle one.

"... well, at least I'm able to stand up and get down to the lobby though, so I thank you for that, Mr. Dog." Vincent said to them. Vincent was still continuing his work of helping up the maids. He realized two things. One, his pain in the top of his heads and his back started to ache just when he coincidentally remembered about it. The other is how Dog was able to save him from what could have been the worst bath of his life. It was kind of weird to ask an acquaintance what their super duper power was, so he thought of a more mundane question.

"... are there still some other robot maids?" Vincent asked.

Amara turned around as soon as she heard someone say something. She turned to see Moe. "Guess so..." She breathed. The maid robots were scattered all over the floor. Amara cracked her neck. "I've been doing this for a while."

Dog waved a hand. "No problem man. And just call me Dog. Mr. Dog sounds silly, and titles just make everything pompus." Daisy, who had never seen anything like Vincent, leaned forwards to take a tenative sniff. She determined that Vincent was innocent enough, although she was still a bit wary of him. She worked her paws out in front of her, laying down and yawning. "And yea. There's tons more, but they're preoccupied right now. The lobby should be safe enough."

Dog wasn't tired, but he sat down on one of the couches. "So where you from?" Dog asked, "I havent been around anywhere but earth much in the past couple thousand years, havent been able to stretch my multiplanar legs, really." Daisy, sensing that they wouldn't be moving for a bit, rolled over on her side. She had her eyes closed, but her ears flicked back and forth every once in awhile. "Theres alot to do on earth to be honest, I've just decided to take a little holiday."

Molato Granger
He watched as she cracked her neck intimidatingly; he rubbed his neck painfully as if she cracked his own. "Did you say.. a while?" He looked around and the floor still needed work. Underwater, Molato can really kick ass. On land, on the other hand, he doesn't feel as confident. How hard could it be to push a button on a robot's chest? One robotic maid approached with what seemed a mop for a weapon. "Ummm," he flung his finger at her button and cried out, "Waaaayaaaa!!" The robot wilted and fell to the floor. An off sign now was read on her face. Panic Panic

Amara smiled. "Okay but you should've seen them throwing knives, that actually hurt."

As I was walking to the reception, I saw this big hovering ship coming in view, filling up a huge part of the lobby. "I wonder how they managed to get that in here" I thought.
On the deck stood someone dressed up as a performer. The ground was littered with a few human shaped robots. Whatever this was, it must have been a great show, though the lack of an audience leads me to believe it already ended as I slow down my pace to give the whole spectacle a good look. My nose instinctively starts to flutter. My ear turns aside when the receptioniste starts talking.
I turn my head and am greeted with a kind smile. The lovely fawn seemed like a carrying person. I can appreciate hotel staff who are so active and concerned about clients at this hour.
I smiled back at her, looking around the desk. My office days have thought me you can learn a lot about a person, simply by looking at her work place.

I put my suitcase down against the desk and reply "A towel would be very helpful".
"And for my room, preferably something on the lower levels, and close to a fire exit if possible".
My posture fixed in a respecting and apologetic way.

I pick up some scuffling, not to far away from me.
I turn my head in a skittish reflex and see more sets of eyes then I'd be comfortable with fixed in my direction.
My body tenses up for a moment. The sight of a human body with what i can only describe as a set of hydra like heads and necks.
Though he seems to be relaxed, and I don't sense any intent of attack from him.
Throwing him a quick smile should do the trick.
I quickly turn my head back to the fawn, hoping the intimidating person didn't mis-interpret my frightful reaction.

Fawna couldn't help, but smile in the midst of the chaos. KAmber didn't seem to mind her hotel's current mess and Mr. Laroot seemed amused by all the spectacles. She let out a relieved sigh; it was great knowing her hotel was still running smoothly despite everything. "Sadly, room 200 is the closest to the stairs and it is currently occupied. I shall place you in room 202 if that's alright," she opened the drawer below which was filled with card-keys and took one for the young rabbit-like gentleman. She scanned it then handed it right over to him. "I'll be right back with your towel!" then she went through the back door of her front desk area.

Vincent's Wanderings
Name: Mr. Vincent Hemmingwell
Status: Calm

Vincent was a but relieved to find out that the problems were at least preoccupied if that was what Dog means about subduing the problem, although he didn't think what their method of calming things down were. While he was listening, Vincent noticed the hare person's reaction he gave him, although it was followed with what he believed to be a smile, before looking away. Vincent's not sure what that means, but they seem just as nice as their formality.

Vincent returned his attention to Dog, just after he finished propping up the last maid. He let that one sit on the ground since there might be more people who would want to sit with so many robot maids with the words OFF on their heads. Dog shot him with a question and some tidbits about them self as an Earthling. Vincent heard of Earth although he hasn't been there. There were a lot of normal people there, according to multi-planar standards. Dog doesn't feel like an average person, nor his pet. They seem to have gone through a lot of things and are definitely quite skilled in things.

"Erm, I come from Nerveer." Vincent simply said as he sat on a space in a couch near Dog. The couch sank alarmingly quick because of his weight, but Vincent didn't notice. He looked around for a bit before continuing as he thought of what to say.

"It's kind of a dark haven there; rather huge place. It's kind of relaxed, but I myself am not a fan of it. It's just one reason why I recently moved here." Vincent said.
