Alex giggled softly and threw some shredded cheese at him. She smiled slightly and kept cooking.

"Hey!" He threw them back. "There's better ways to ask for cheese!" He smiled. "I wonder.... Where do you go to school?"

"Most likely the only public high school around this dump," she said with a smile. She had the sudden urge to do something, so she leaned over and kissed his cheek gently before blushing crimson red. "Sorry," she muttered softly.

"Ah!" He said at the kiss. "I...it's okay...." He didn't know if he was going to kiss back. He chopped up the green peppers

Alex silently looked down and started shredding some lettuce. She couldn't get rid of the blush that still crossed her cheeks no matter how bad she wanted to.

He turned over to her. "So..." He looked outside. "How are you?"

"Fine," Alex said simply. She knew for sure she had made things worse and she didn't like it.

"Where do you want to go today?" He smiled at her. She seemed beat up. She thought she hurt him... He was only confused.... no one other than his mother used to kiss him..

Alex shrugged slightly. "I don't know," was all she said. She didn't want to say anything else for fear of making things even worse.

He held her hand, and smiled. "Its ok..." He leaned in to kiss her back. I guess the only way to help her...He thought, Is to return the favor

Alex blushed crimson red and looked down. She finished the meat and sat it aside as she got soft and hard shells out.

He helped as well. "Feel better now?" He smiled

"Not really," she said softly as she finished. She fixed her one and ate silently.

He fixed his and ate silently as well. "Hey...." He said looking around. "It feels empty here... Where are your parents?

"My mom is at work," Alex answered with a shrug. She hopped up on the counter and fixed another, starting to eat it.

He looked at her. He looked down and shighed.

Alex looked at him as concern overwhelmed her. "What's wrong?" she asked, her worry showing through her voice.

"My dad." Hr lied. He looked at her. "I just.... He'll go to jail, at the worst. And I'll have no place to live..."

"You're staying here," she said softly. "My mom already said it was okay," she decided to add and smiled.

He smiled. "That...." He blushed. "That would be great...."

Smiling, Alex finished eating. "Well I'm going to go change then get in the pool for a while," she said before hopping off the counter. She went upstairs to her room and changed into her favorite bikini. She grabbed a towel and let her hair down before going back downstairs and to the kitchen to get some water.

He nearly did a comical spit take when he saw her in that beautiful bikini

Not noticing, Alex walked out the back door and sat her things in a chair.

"Uhhh....." He started to say. "...Are we going to the beach.... Or ..."

Shaking her head, Alex jumped into the pool. And surfaced and sighed in relief as the cold water hit her skin.
