The Psycho

"I didn't do anything to you. I'm terribly sorry for the misunderstanding," Alex counteracted as she looked at the woman then the manager.

"Miss..." He looked at them both. "Let me get you a table..." He said to Alex, moving quickly to a different table. In a few moments, they were perfectly seated. "So..." Charlie said. "What.... Wha-" he stopped himself from asking the question. He thought She was going to kill him if he did. "What's up with all the nicknames?

"Just what I've acquired as I've lived my life. There's Alexandria, Alex, Alx, spelled differently, Lex, and Lexie," she explained before adding, "and I have a bit of a temper which is why I did what I did."

"Ok..." He said, calming down. "What do you want to eat?" He said, seeing the waiter come closer. Charlie noticed his fear as well.

"Just a steak is fine," she answered with a sly grin. She giggled softly at the irony and sat back as she ran her fingers through her hair.

"S-something funny?" He said to her. He was not the sharpest too in the shed of wit, and it seemed to show on his face. He ordered the lobster. Why not? It's in the name....

Charlie had never been to red lobster before. He felt it quite wired....

"Just the irony of the previous events and me ordering a steak," she replied, still laughing a bit. She smiled and stretched a bit, finally calming down. She smiled at the waiter and nodded.

"Oh... Heh..." He still didn't get it, but, you know... It didn't matter. They waited at the table for what seemed like a while. "So..." Charlie said. "How is your family like?"

Alex froze and looked down stiffly at the table. "My mom is pretty normal and my dad died a few years ago," she said quietly, trying her best to hold back tears. It was still a tough subject to talk about.

Shrugging slightly, she swallowed the tears and put on a fake smile. "Yea I suppose so," she said, her voice obviously shaking.

Alex nodded silently before hugging him back. She felt like crying, but knew she couldn't, not now?

"Kinda but not really," she said quietly just as their food came. She smiled at the waiter and started eating in silence.

He felt the silence. It hurt him like a knife. Another relationship ruined, and he did it himself... No help needed...

"It's just something I don't feel comfortable talking about," she said finally before looking in his eyes. "To people in general."

"Ok..." He smiled. "It's hard for me to talk about mine as well.... Probably should have taken a hint..." He ate the first bite of lobster.

"I see..." Alex said softly before going back to eating. She didn't want to pry him about it, especially not this early in their friendship.

"I hate seafood but I love streak and in my opinion, this is the best around," Alex said with a small, genuine giggle. She finished her food and sat back.

"Really?" He finished the food, and looked at her. "I'm going to pay, don't yo-" the manager came around that time. "Don't you worry you two... It's on the house! A little fgoft for your inconvenience!"

Alex smiled widely and stood up, unsure of if he was serious or not. She nodded slightly before grabbing Charlie's hand and pulling him out of the restaurant.

"Whoa!" Christian said, getting dragged out of the restaurant. Out if the corner of his eye, he saw the lady from before. Still eating. Still scared

Smiling to herself, Alex pulled him to her car and got in the drivers seat. She cranked up her car and waited on him to get in.
