[The Official RPN Character Challenge 2015]The Lobby!

Rudy's frown actually lessened to something like that of a bemused smirk at the lady's sharp words (@CloudyBlueDay ) How could he possibly resist such a setup? It was like breakfast all over again,"Tsk tsk. I do believe you are the one cursing and sounding all threatening. You are setting a bad example for the younger generation, me, to follow. It would be shame should I decide to follow your lead in the matter." He said in a casual voice carrying not so subtle sarcasm. That certainly made him feel a little better.

Rudy looked back over to Leo (@SilverBlack ). "Yeah? Well I'm from normal. Ordinary. Everyday. Plain. Earth. No magic or sword welding ladies or star people or fox whisperers. Though curious enough... if your world was normal to you... how do you classify it as 'historical fantasy'. As for what this place is... its just another part of the dreamscape, or that is what I am going to assume until evidence shows otherwise. And until that evidence, as far as I am concerned every one of you are denizens of the dreamscape. I don't think I have the patience to wrap my mind around any other sort of twisty new world or magic." He said and shook his head at the trying to prove sanity."Don't look at me. I think your nuts. And you should take my word for it, my life has revolved around managing loony kids. The way everyone here has acted. How they look. How they talk and tackle-greet. This place is as bad as a fucking asylum. I also assure you I am quite used to weirdness. In the past twenty four hours I have been teleported into a dream by a wolf's dirty feet, been chased by blender mouthed gorillas and zombie elephants, and got into shouting match with a bitchy witch. This place isn't much different from there. I have kinda figured that logic isn't exactly very logical anymore." He mentioned blandly.

Irea observed the sarcastic man with some interest. He didn't know what some of the words meant, but oh well, he had a good read on this guy.

" Tell me, if this is dreamscape, are you all figments of my imagination, or the gods who brought us heres imagination. And where is the line between worlds? You seem to think this less crazy the it really is. " He directed at the man. He had been wondering himself the same thing, even after seeing 6 of the 11 hells.

@KingHink

Ryou Hayashi

It took him a moment to silently sit up and tuck his watch back into his sash. Once doing so, he let out long sigh and clasped his hands together, letting another flame ignite between his palms.

He couldn't even lay down for a few dear minutes and enjoy the peace and quiet. No, he had to deal souls constantly appearing out of nowhere along with Tiny here, he looked at the little fox, following him around. The flames in his clasped hands glowed with crimson colors until a slight shade of blue appeared. Blue was a color he liked, it was the strongest flame in turns of burning things.

Meaning he could cause damage with it.

Ryou stared down at the little fox until the flames were put out from his hands again. Then, he reached down and picked up Tiny before turning towards the human. His crisscrossed his legs on the couch, placing Tiny down onto his lap as he started to pet the little guy's fur. He looked up at the human but without opening his mouth, he spoke to the little fox, "You saw what I can do, right? If you say another word or call me with those idiotic nicknames of yours, I'll burn you without a second thought. Now be quiet."

What he learned so far, was that he wasn't being taken seriously at this place. He seriously wasn't. Five-Centuries-Year-Old-Fox-Spirit or not. He was called short, dwarf, even a little fox dared to casually refer to him with such nicknames. He was being treated like any other human child. He didn't want to deal with another human trying to do the same.

It seemed to be best if he quit exploding into fits of anger and curses. Not to mention think before acting.

Now, to face this human. He continued to pet Tiny as he finally spoke aloud. He remember Whitey mentioning something before he was called by that hideous word. Ryou's eyes were still dull and his voice still resonated with subtle disgust at the fact that he was talking to a human, "Did a voice speak to you before you arrived here?" Aside from the question mark, his bored voice held no type of curiosity towards the human's possible reply.

@SilverBlack (with granted permission) @LoveMyHate

@Firelava Rudy's response came without hesitation, and he was flat in tone."Actually it would make you figments of the imagination of a one eyed murderous teenage drama queen. Which oddly enough... makes a fair amount of sense in explaining the weirdness of all this . Except for me. I'm real."

" Where i know i am real as well, the artifacts i bear prove it to me. Proving that either we are figments of a set of deranged gods, we are bat shit crazy, or both. Not sure what scares me more. " Was his response. His other thought was that he made it to the 11th layer of hell number 7.

@KingHink

"Quite an insect indeed..." Skye whispered with a finger on her chin, as she walked over towards the sofa where she sat, her long ponytail red hair swept with each step. Her eyes held a certain amusement to it, as she bit into the apple once more. She sat on the sofa a few distances in front of the insect.

"I would be careful with that tongue, fireant. Your name suggest the very fiery personality that would get the least paitent person on edge." Skye stared him deeply in his eyes, as if to challenge him, resting an arm on a leg, the other holding half of her apple in mid-air...

@Penance

Dilan scoffed and leaned back in the seat looking at her with a bored expression "please normal roaches ate you humans off what do you think you stand against an evolved fire ant?" He smirked at the thought of breaking her in two and use her for lunch "humans.....weak and squishy. Hardly worth my time...." He got up and laughed as he walked away to find something else to eat. 'I wonder what these people consider food..?' He thought curiously

@Firelava Rudy rolled his eyes. Still maintaining distance from the guy and his dog monsters. "You proved nothing, there, big guy. Except that you don't listen very well. I didn't mention anything about some stupid gods or that what you thought was real matters. Artifacts be damned ." A statement that was likely more true for the hell guy than Rudy intended. "Though my grasp on sanity is likely quite frail seeing as I am talking to something that can kill me. But I got a white knuckle grip on it enough to know crazy when I see it. Wanna make sense of this? Well sense flew away quite some time ago. We all happen to be standing at a building floating in perpetual nothingness while being barked at by disembodied voices and big green trolls. Where somehow everyone is playful and cheerful and reveling in grand comraderie and I swear I smell coffee and snacks. If you want to sprain that pretty little brain of yours trying to understand what is actually going on, then be my guest. Right now, this being all in the same dream I am in makes perfect sense to me and I will continue to hold onto such a delusion to spare myself the comfort of madness, again, unless a more sensible theory is proposed. As of right now, I am left little choice but to wing it, which mostly involves not getting tackled, eaten, or maimed in any manner, shape, or form. Admittedly, my mouth is isn't helping, but it sure as hell is keeping me from ripping my hair out or focus on the unpleasant squishiness in my shoes or the fact my cigarettes are wet and ruined. If you want to be useful, we could all perhaps focus less on what is or is not real, and more on what hell is gonna happen next."

" Yes, the Artifacts are Damned. What depressing world did you crawl from? I have been fighting for life for years, and i find it refreshing to talk to my prey before i send them to see my Grandmother. " He said musingly. He sensed extreme insanity and depression in this man. To be so far past the brink that a beast tamer could sense your soul this quickly....... What world did he crawl from?

@Firelava The hell dog man just might be on to something there. Goodness knows that worms like Jay have tested his limits for longer than would be considered emotionally healthy and trying to rodeo, quite literally a bunch kids better off in a mental institute rather than a cranky old caretaker who didnt give a damn did sort of wear on a guy. Regardless of the intent of the insult delivered to Rudy, he could not help but grin. Though the look in his eyes gleamed of the smartassedness that seemed to plague the boy, "The real world." What better answer could he give to a question like that?

Fred22_zpsznkzuc4u.jpg
Fredrick looked back to the two listening to their conversation. Erin's (@RubyRose) theory wasn't far off perhaps stories or other worlds where possible but the idea that his world was nothing more than the imagination of a writer seemed too far fetched. Still the idea of cross worlds and these gods seemed possible after all how else could you explain this gathering of creatures and beings.

Adjusting his cloak he overheard Euli's (@Dawnsx) remark on the possibility of a story. Fredrick looked over the two who's eye's seemed curious and yet playful. A bit taken back his cheeks flushed a little as he once more pushed his glasses up. Looking back at the two "Well it would lighten the mood wouldn't it?" as he picked up the rose colored violin and tightened a few of the strings.

With a single stroke the tone vibrated quietly as Fredrick took a deep breath.Not wanting to disturb the other guests he started off softly the

whimsical yet drawn out. The pierce of the sharp tones echoed from his body as the bow began to tug at the strings. It was pleasant for Fredrick to have been able to hear his violin its chords reminding him of home.
Looking back at
Fred23_zpsbh4m0iks.jpg
Erin his eyes focused intently as the music grew, drawing her and Euli to his tale. Though there was no water to reflect his emotions physically into manifestation his music rolled forward and pillowed the ears of those who listened. "The isles afar who's waves caress. Its shores inviting every traveler to rest." Fredrick's words where soft almost a whisper "...she calls out to you from unspoken lands...her tale of love upon her white sands." the music climbed only briefly than flowed back as if repeating "And though the skies seem to never end, she'll wait for you to return again." as his eyes watered slightly recalling his home. The last few notes caused a few drops from his eyes to lift before fading away completely with the song.

Holding his bow he wiped his eyes a bit than smiled as he looked to the little girl and young man "...not much of a story teller, but I hope you liked it." as Fredrick took another deep breath to compose himself trying hard to hide his flushed face. He didn't know what these gods had in stored but for now it was nice to feel some solice with these two in a strange world. Fredrick simply smiled thinking perhaps than it wouldn't be too bad of an adventure.

"Do you think an ordinary human with no skills would be chosen for a set of trials....? Do not underestimate me, for you know not of what I can do..." Skye positioned one of the five swords which was strapped around her, gently in place as it leaned to the left side of her back..

Eating the last of the apple, she stood to her feet, as she walked ahead of him as if he never existed, but, she had in mind to keep an eye on the ant. It was a rare being and having being aware of it peaked her interest to one particular goal which she wanted to achieve...but decided to leave that part for future purposes..

@Penance

Dilan growled as she walked past "no good scrawny little..." He grumbled. No wonder their whole race lost. They probably killed each other out of sheer frustration for one another 'to think I have to share the same air supply as these things....' He thought annoyed. He looked around for someone else to bother. Of course there were plenty

@anyone

Skye glanced around her, noticing the others as they were busily engaged in conversation. She walked ariund , admiring how well-kept the whole building was. From squeeky cleaned tiles to glistening glasswares, everything caught her eye. At least there was something else that peaked her interest.

She continued walking around the building, as she looked out a glass window. The building was surrounded by a shroud of white. It begs the question; where exactly is this place? And why her of all persons? Then a thought came to her.

'I wonder if I may see my friends here roaming around...? But, I would have sensed their presence long ago..." She sighed inwardly, as she continued exploring...

@anyone

"Did a voice speak to you before you arrived here?"

I stared at him, noting the dull look in his eyes and the disgust in his tone.

Did I do something wrong? He seems to like that small fox...although there was a murderous glint to his eyes when he looked at it...

Maybe humans and fox spirits don't mix? There's probably a history I don't know.

This guy can use fire...blue flames...and he seems to be around my height.

I glanced at the small fox. It doesn't look as fluffy as the fox spirit....

Pretending that I didn't hear the disgust in his tone, I replied in a polite manner.

"Yes. Did the voice speak to you too?"

Outbreak turned to walk back to his chair, but his virus suddenly alerted of someone occupying the space behind him. Outbreak stepped to the side, glaring at a girl that just walked by. "Watch where you step," he growled at her. @Dark Child

Skye stopped in her tracks as she turned towards the guy, noting how much he reeks of illness. She narrowed dark red eyes at him, analyzing him carefully..

Deciding that he was not worth her time, she continued walking around, observing the entire area, as she pondered to herself...

'Who exactly is he...?' She lifted an eyebrow as she stopped in her tracks once more, her back turned to the guy at a good distance...

@rapjack123

Outbreak cocked an eyebrow at her. His expression became foul as he was frustrated by how she turned away from him. Damn disrespectful she is. Outbreak would teach her to turn away from him. "HEY!" He called out, storming over to her. Outbreak sized her up, not caring that she was a girl. "You're gonna look me in the eye when I talk to you, understand?" He said, deadly cool. Outbreak's blood rushed at finally having someone to set straight. This whole building made him feel imprisoned and that was already getting on his nerves. @Dark Child

Skye glared him straight in the eyes as she held back every urge to plant a fist to his chest. Unfazed and stoic in her usual way, she narrowed her dark red eyes at him.

"Is there a problem..? What is it that you need with me..?" She asked in her most gentle tone. Skye had changed much during her days most spent with her master in terms of temper and anger. The old Skye would have not wasted time with reasoning. Some broken bones or vital organs would have been severed. Now, she believes that analyzing and carefully dealing with a situation is first priority before taking action.

@rapjack123

Outbreak eyed her. "Yes.. I have a problem," he said, leaning close to her. His breath reeked as he hadn't had access to a normal bathroom with a toothbrush and toothpaste since he was 13... more than 5 years ago. Maybe his breath smelled bad but his virus kept bacteria from eating away at his teeth. Inches away from the girl's face, he whispered,"Don't turn your back to me." Outbreak kept a murderous stare as he eyed her with intent.

Skye's eyes twitched involuntarily as her senses were blown away by the very breath and scent of the guy. She exhaled sharply, as she slowly took out an apple from the pouch which she held around the waist, handing it to him, her features remained ever so unreadable.

"A fruit would do well with you. Eat." She simply stated as she blinked her dark eyes at him, fighting every urge to push him away from before her..

@rapjack123

Outbreak gave a mad grin as his virus quickly let the apple start to rot right before the girl's eyes. Then he grabbed it out her hands and bit from it, revealing the already brown inside. "Delicious," he said, with wild eyes. Outbreak never broke his gaze, never blinked. He place a finger on her chin to lift up her face. "Want a bite?" He said, finally shifting his attention to the now badly rotten apple, who's red outer skin was now shriveled and wrinkled.

Euli smiled at Erin's excitement for a story from Fredrick. He had to admit though, he himself was a little keen for a tale from the man. When she asked Euli for stories as well, he scratched his head sheepishly. "Maybe I can tell you a little about my old home, but I don't have many stories, really. "

With that said, Euli turned his attention to Fredrick, who got his violin ready. As soon as the first note sounded, the Werecat felt as if he was enchanted, taken to some place far, far away. His soft voice echoed loudly in his ears, and a wave of serenity washed over him. The music reminded himself of old, peaceful times back at the forest, away from the bustling life of Castille. A time where he would be able to lay down atop a tree on a sturdy branch, and stare up at the night sky. A time where he was able to look at his family, his surroundings and think, this is my home. He loved Castille, its bright lights, the crowds, and all of the wonderful friends he made. But his home in Mora's Forest... It was home. At the back of his mind, he vaguely wondered if Fredrick felt strongly about his home, to be able to play something so gentle, yet so powerful.

As the music ended, Euli took a deep breath, still struggling to take in the emotions brought onto him through those notes. After composing himself a little, he laughed at Fredrick's words.
"Not a good storyteller? Please, you're too humble. That was amazing, wasn't it Erin?"

@The Wizard @RubyRose

'I see...' Skye lifted an eyebrow surprisingly at the fruit, as she observed how quickly the apple withered up in her hands from the strange magical source which radiated from him.

'So this was why I had sensed him reeking of illness....and death....? Quite a power...' She felt when he grabbed the apple from her hand, eating the now spoilt fruit which she found very disgusting, but her features never betrayed her mind...

She then suddenly felt a finger under her chin as he lifted her head upwards, motioning to the rotten apple.

"I have eaten. I offered that apple for a reason. Why have you corrupted the fruit...?" She asked plainly as dark eyes observed the boy keenly, studying his movements, his power mainly. It was something she now found quite interesting..

@rapjack123

As the burning sensation in the back of her throat dissipated, Angkasa slowly lowered her hand. She then fully turned around to face the speaker. Angkasa always believe that the first impression of something contains the raw truth, before the impression being clouded by stereotype and personal bias. That’s why when she met someone new, she memorized the first word that came to her mind about them. And the first word that entered her mind when she saw this guy is: Unstable.

…Well, it’s certainly not a good word to describe someone. Lifelong habit made her scanned the person before her in brief glance. He seemed to be around her age. Blond hair, green eyes (of Northen Europe descent? Or Ireland? Although there’s a big chance he isn’t even from her world), clothes that looked like it had been worn too many times in many weathers (Just like the guerrilla Freedom Fighters. Could this person travel a lot too?), a mannerism that shows he wasn’t confused by their current predicament, if not a little bit too happy. Trigger happy might be the right word (just like those people she knew back home that didn’t care about anything as long as they could fight).

"You've got a sensitive body in order to have spotted out my virus in the air... smart girl,"

His virus. If she didn’t know that the pollution in the air was man-made, now she did. Along with other information. First, this man has a control over airborne virus. Second, the virus acted as extension of his sense, since he instantly know it’s his virus that disturb her respiratory despite it’s normally undetectable by other people. Third, from how he acted, he didn’t specifically target her, so he was most likely spread his biological weapon across the room, which mean majority of people here was now infected. She must admit it’s a clever move, if only he didn’t tell people so easily about it. So it’s either he was that confident of his ability, or reckless, or both. Angkasa made a mental note to find a mask later.

“It’s more of luck than sensitivity.” She replied, her voice was nonchalant. Yes, her luck that the virus just happen to trigger the sensitive part of the respiratory, alerting her. It could be her innate ability at work. “Outbreak…How self-explanatory.” She looked down at his extended hand. Did he really expect someone would shake his hand after he openly admit he just infect them? “I am Angkasa. Asa.” She said briefly, her hand was still on her side, leaving him hanging. Which might or might not anger him, if only not for the interruption from other participant. A woman that reminded her of a flame. Her eyes narrowed slightly at the scene before her. So the word unstable did suit him.

Another voice was heard behind her. "Yeah, it seemed a little weird to me too. But I was in the sky in the middle of nowhere before, and the pressure's lower here, so that's probably what I noticed." She glanced over her shoulder, to the blue-haired man that’s sauntering towards them. Breeze. It’s the first word she thought as she looked at him. She didn’t return his smile, but her voice wasn’t unfriendly either as she spoke to him. “I would approach a more peaceful bunch if I were you.” She murmured to him.
