Conor nodded as Lucy said they needed to treat Alex with patience and respect. "Please do be patient. Like you, me and James, Alex is stubborn, loyal and strong-willed. We all have to be tough to survive this city. So I doubt she'll give you what you want right away," he admitted. "I don't know what we will gain from this, but right now I just want Finn back with us." When Lucy stopped to hug him, Conor wrapped his comforting and warm arms around her. "I'm sorry we don't get to have fun or be close anymore," he sadly apologised. Everyone's lives had changed over the last year. He was just glad Lucy had at least found happiness with James. He couldn't help but smile when she said she'd put in a good word with Alex. "Thanks. I'll need it," he apprehensively replied.
Conor didn't immediately follow Lucy out of the room. Instead, he took a moment to compose himself and finally emerged back into the bar where his family waited. He placed a kiss on the top of Maggie's head before stepping into the middle of the group, briefly fixing his eyes on James. "There won't be any storming casinos and shooting at Italians, because that's not what the Sullivans do and we're not getting ourselves killed. The best way to find the information we need is to get one of the Romanos to tell us," he explained. "Lucy and James are going to see to it that we get hold of a Romano who will help us - someone they can get to talk. I think Vinnie's daughter, Alex, is our best option," he told them. "I just need to make it clear to you all that we are not stooping to Vinnie's level. No torturing and bloodshed."
James remained silent as Conor spoke, simply nodding. This was pretty much what he'd intended on in the first place, so he was glad Lucy had managed to talk her brother round. He'd taken Conor's words about not torturing Alex as a personal warning. He wouldn't dream of it, but he'd be happy to make the Romanos believe he would. James looked to Lucy to see if she'd already made a plan and what it was. The sooner they did this, better.
"Maggie and Aidan, I think it's best if you both go home for tonight," he softly suggested. "Cassie, you can get yourself off home early and go relax where it's safe."
