Leo raised his eyebrows when Alena mentioned it was quiet around the hotel. "Yeah it's Sunday. A lot of people will be in their rooms getting ready before checking out. This is the best time for the staff to clean around this place before we get busy again and..." he stopped himself as he realised he was going on about something unimportant.

Leo took an awkward step forward and looked closely to Alena's face." I'm sorry about your mum. I never thought..." he began but fell silent. Leo was usually making some kind of joke or cheeky comment, but he couldn't even attempt to lighten this exchange. "I hope you can forgive me, Lena. I hope all of you can. Your father warned me about security and I didn't listen. I'm sorry," he apologised again, trying to hold back any tears. He cared so much for Alena but was certain she would hate him by now.

James Porter and Sinead Sullivan

James wasn't someone who got nervous easily but right now the wait was starting to get to him. He realised he'd smoked all that was left of his cigarette and stubbed it out in the ashtray. He was about to get himself another before deciding he'd had enough for now. As he hoped the others weren't picking up on his apprehension, he decided to tease Sinead, knowing she was usually good for a little innocent light-hearted chatter.

"So, Sinead. You and David were having a good dance last night. I bet you've got a crush on him now..." James knew she didn't, but he just wanted to get a reaction.

"Um, no. Don't be silly," Sinead quickly responded, managing to go high pitched despite her dry throat. "He can dance, sure. But I don't fancy him. He's no Giovanni..." she suddenly stopped herself upon realising what she'd said.

"Oh yeah. And who's he?" James seriously asked. The name was a giveaway that the man was Italian and James only knew of one man by that name. He sent Lucy a desperately suspicious glance. He recalled it had been Angel who had pulled Sinead out of the way of being shot at the club the night Lucy took a bullet.

"You don't know him. Just a guy who came into the jazz club one time," she trailed off as her cheeks turned red. Sure, Angel had been into the jazz club on the same night James had recalled, but she'd also had breakfast with him since that night.

Lucy could just barely tell that James was nervous. The one and only indicator being that he smoke his cigarette all the way down to the end basically. It had been weeks since Lucy had a cigarette. And in that moment she would admit that she was itching for one long drag.

Lucy let out an amused laugh at both James and her sister and listened with interest as she revealed a dirty little secret. Lucy set down her book and listened to her sister try and brush off this reveal as if it were nothing. But oh dear it was something.

That name was too familiar and James glanced at Lucy for a moment, eyes full of suspicion. She met his eyes for a moment and gave a slight nod before looking at her sister once more. She remembered that he got her out of the club that night she got shot. The entry wound on her leg that was now almost completely healed stung slightly at the memory. Winding slightly, she let out a small sigh and smiled.

"Well whoever this person is, I hope you are being careful. I sincerely hope I don't have to lecture you on safety because really mom and dad should have done that." She snickers lightly. She wasn't sure if she trusted this person with her sister...but she knew there was no way to control it.

Sinead could hear the suspicion in James' serious tone and caught the look he sent Lucy. She hadn't meant for Giovanni's name to slip out, but at least Lucy seemed fine with it. "Of course, I'm being careful," she said, though she knew she was known for sometimes acting on impulse.

James shifted uncomfortably in his seat. Although Lucy had told Sinead to be careful, she seemed to be taking the news lightly, but he wasn't sure if he could be so relaxed about it. He'd kept Lucy's secret because he believed she was capable of taking care of herself, but he didn't have the same confidence in Sinead. Not after she had sneaked into Vinnie's party. "Okay, I'll bite," James began, sitting forward and looking Sinead in the eyes. "I know exactly who Giovanni is and whatever you think you know about him, you're wrong. You need to keep away from him, now more than ever. Just because he saved your life, it doesn't mean you can trust him. He works for the Romanos. The same family that has threatened each of us."

"You're wrong, James," Sinead snapped back. She hated when people talked to her like she was a child, even if it was someone she cared about. "If you must know, I also had breakfast with him the day after and he was nothing but kind to me. He's no worse than you, James. Your circumstances are just different. Besides, Conor gets along with him too, so I don't know why you're making a big deal out of it." She loved James like he was family and didn't want to fall out with him, but she was annoyed. "You can't tell me what to do anyway."

"Maybe not, but Emmet and Shannon can," he abruptly replied, sending Lucy an apologetic glance. "Conor can look after himself, but I can't sit back and say nothing. Your parents need to know." James figured this wouldn't go down well with Lucy, but he couldn't keep any more secrets from Emmet, especially if Sinead ended up hurt because he let her go near Angel. "I'm willing to be the bad guy if it means protecting you."

"James, it's nothing. I haven't seen him in weeks and I won't see him again, so just let it drop," Sinead desperately asked. She didn't know if she feared upsetting her mother or father most on this. "Lucy, please tell him," she asked, looking desperately to her sister.

Lucy looked at James with wide eyes and wondered what he was going to say to her sister. Biting her lip, she watched the two bicker back and forth with each other before finally they both looked at Lucy for an answer. Looking between the two of them, she felt her nerves pinching as she let out a heavy sigh. "Look, Sin...James...is just looking out for you. I understand your feeling for him might seem legitimate at the moment, but you are young okay? And if you think mother and father will be upset for this...I think they will be busy worrying about something else to be honest." She looked towards James for a moment and gave him a knowing look. She was definitely going to confess her sins to her parents.

Lady whimpered slightly, surely the poor thing could feel the tension between the three of them. "The Romanos at this point in time are to not be trusted under any sort of circumstance. Sinead, you know just as well as I that this isn't safe for you to be doing. And honestly, I think you need to tell mom and dad about this. Today's meeting is about complete honesty."

Vinnie looked forward as Fortuna and couldn't help but return her grin. He was by now used to the darker undertones to the woman's seemingly friendly expression. In all honesty, unless he was with his closest family and friends, his own smile often masked more sinister thoughts. He observed the woman's interaction with Hans and was pleased to watch the lady in action.

"Monte is running late and I'd prefer him to be present when we discuss my intentions for the Sullivans," Vinnie spoke up. He then made brief eye-contact with Fortuna as he pondered his next words. "One thing we can talk about now is Sergeant Hunter," he began. "A bit of a pest as far as my business is concerned," he said, only elaborating a little for Hans' benefit. "The man has already had a few more weeks to slither around the city trying to coax information out of my employees. It's time for him to disappear, permanently," he said. Vinnie figured it went without saying that he wanted the Sergeant dead and for the deed to be done discreetly.

Sinead sighed as Lucy spoke to her. "I know James is trying to help, but there's no need. Really, Giovanni had multiple chances to harm me and he never did. And he spoke to me like I was an adult and helped me to put things into perspective. I genuinely believe he's a decent person," She sighed. "But fine. I won't see him again." Sinead looked curiously to Lucy as she said their parents would be busy worrying about other things. She wondered what her sister meant by that.

James had a feeling he knew what Lucy meant and he was annoyed he couldn't discuss it with her first, not with Sinead in the room. He was worried about what would happen if she really did confess all. As much as he wanted to tell Emmet the truth, he didn't want to see Lucy get into trouble or fall out with her parents. He really hoped she knew what she was doing. When Lucy told Sinead she needed to tell her parents about Giovanni, James slowly nodded his head. "If you don't tell them, I will, Sinead. I'm pretty sure they'll take it better if you tell them yourself rather than hearing it from me. They need to know everything if they're going to protect this family." James looked to Lucy and managed to show her the faintest of smiles. He was glad what he'd said to Sinead didn't cause Lucy to fall out with him or be taken the wrong way. That beautiful woman really was going to turn him soft! Not to mention that there was now an adorable puppy hanging around the place.

Alex sat back comfortably in the chair watching as people walked past her. She had an almost stern but somewhat distant look on her face as she stared straight ahead, she didn't see the point in even being at the hotel since she wasn't allowed in to the meeting which angered Alex more than she showed. Although she guessed her snappy attitude in the car after being told she could not go in let her father know just how annoyed she was. Alex snapped from her thoughts when she heard a voice talking to her "Hi Leo" she said, a smile appearing on her features for only a moment before her mouth went back to a straight line. She watched Leo and her sister conversing and smiled to herself, if anyone could help her sister grieve it was Leo, they both adored each other and that was obvious to anyone who saw them. "I don't blame you, and there is nothing to forgive" she told Leo gently and sincerely, no matter how much security was at the party Alex knew that the Sullivan's would have got in regardless, it was premeditated and who knows how long they were already in the hotel. Alex bit her lip before standing up "Ill give you's some time alone" she said softly "if you need me Ill be somewhere on this floor" she added to Alena before walking away from them. Her original plan was to sit outside of the meeting room and listen in, however Alex knew that if she was caught there by her father then he would not allow her to sit in at the second meeting and so she kept walking past the room.
Alex was walking on a sort of auto pilot and eventually found herself inside the ballroom. She looked around noticing how clean and empty the room was, she looked over to see that the blood had been cleaned off the floor, any evidence of that night vanished. Alex sat down on the floor where she remembered her mothers body to have been, a tear rolled down her cheek as she remembered that night, hearing the gunshot, seeing her mother lying on the floor, all the memories she had suppressed came flooding back to her as the tears began to fall more freely. She reached into her bag and pulled out a cigarette placing it to her lips as she lit it. She took a long drag before exhaling as she looked down at her shaking hands. Being in this room was bringing back all of the emotions which she had suppressed, however this time she allowed them to engulf her. Being numb and ignoring her feeling was clearly not helping and so she chose to use this time to give in and try to somewhat heal.

Lucy nodded her head in agreement with James' words. If Sinead wouldn't tell her parents, she didn't see anything wrong with James informing them. The fact that her sister was even talking to a Romano just made Lucy ill to her stomach. She tried not the image how many ways the poor thing could have been manipulated without even knowing it, but it was hard to ignore when she is basically setting up the situation for it to become a possibility.

Her parents needed to know the truth about everything. That's what James told Sinead. Was he planning on telling all like she was or was he continuing to want to hide it. The light smile caught her off guard, but she love doing it. She offered a small smile in return clearly not taking offense to what he said to her little sister. She was not one to argue with voices of reason. Lady once again yipped in her lap and she brough both of her hands to the dogs pointed ears. Petting them softly she looked to her sister. "It's just important to lay low with these people right now Sin...and I'm sorry you have to be in the middle of this."

"Fine!" Sinead spoke up. "I'll tell them. Please just stop looking at me like I'm a child." She sighed. "I think I'm in the middle of this for good now. I just need you all to know that Giovanni wasn't doing anything wrong. He helped me, multiple times when he didn't have to."

James sighed and shook his head. "Whatever his intentions, it ends now," he firmly told her. We're just looking out for you, Sinead," James spoke up. He then watched as Lucy stroked Lady's ears. Seeing the two sisters and the puppy just made him think how nice it was to see something of a normal family. He'd never had that, but it was still comforting to observe.

"When is this meeting going to start? I just want everything over and done with," Sinead impatiently spoke up.

James gave an uncomfortable smile. He wasn't one for being impatient, but he was certainly feeling the strain of waiting for whatever this would turn into.

Leo looked to Alex when she spoke to him and her words provided some comfort to him, at least. The fact neither Vinnie nor Alex had blamed him meant a lot. Regardless, there would always be a part of him questioning what if he'd done something different. "We'll be right here, Alex," he told her, realising she might be going into the same ballroom her mother had been killed in.

"Alena?" Leo then asked, returning his focus to the young woman. "Perhaps you might want to go in there too? It might help," he suggested. "Sometimes facing things head on can help you overcome your grief. I can join you..."

Margarita scoffed at Conor's comment on having people gladly die. "A
re you that heartless to say such a thing? If you wanted someone dead for god knows what reason, then you should do it yourself and not cower behind those who have to do your dirty work." Rita looked at the situation unraveling between James and the girl that she never got to meet, it was rather amusing walking into such a place and seeing everyone's relationships, well in this case what she had assumed as a used to be relationship. She looked down breathing in deeply before looking at Conor again, "You shouldn't want someone to die.... You're just as bad as them otherwise." She smiled slightly revealing her pearly whites as she moved a strand of her hair back behind her ear, she pursed her lips together so she couldn't say anything else, as it stood she thought that she had screwed up already. She laughed at herself because of her unrealistic thoughts on this place, she thought that she could just magically fit in here for some reason but instead she sat in the awkward silence between the two.

Alena watched as her sister left, Alena didn't know what to say or do with Leo. She did know that things did not go according to plan during the night of celebrations. Alena did leave midway before she told Leo how she really felt and she just didn't know that she could have the courage to do so anymore. Alena felt as if two anchors were tied to her and she couldn't even more, Alena felt grounded. Even though she tried moving, she just couldn't bring herself to take a step forwards. Alena didn't know if she had it in her to go and see the ballroom where her mother had passed.

"I'm not sure Leo," she told him as she put her hand on her arm and looked up at Leo.

Michael Johnson

It was early in the morning and Michael had already been dressed, but decided to be a little late to the meeting about Hunter to make time to read a book of his. Michael had enjoyed reading as it was something that very few African American men in America could do, due to the segregated schools in the US and many African American schools being unable to teach many of their students, although this wouldn't be because the teachers were bad at doing their jobs and instead it would be because of the constant removal of African-American schools that would not allow African-American Children to learn.

He would set his book down and took his hand to the corner of the page and pinched the corner between his index finger and his thumb and would fold it to mark the page he was on before closing his book and stuffing it away on a nearby book shelf. He took his arm up and took his gaze over to the wrist where his wrist watch was on and looked at the time and decided he should go to meet his employer.

He would grab his suitcase that he had set down on a nearby table and walked out of his medium sized house going over to his car, reaching for the handle to open it. Once it was opened he would get inside, close the door, and the start the ignition before driving off to the location of where the meeting was at.

Once he got to the location he opened the car door and exited out of his vehicle closing the door and locking it before walking inside and making his way to the meeting room.

Once he got to the meeting room he took a look at the German male before walking over to his seat and placing himself down.

Once he was seated he would speak over to Mr. Romano

"I see you invited a German Immigrant Mister Romano."

Conor raised his eyebrows at Rita as she insinuated he was heartless. He wasn't sure what she was even doing here, in this business. "I don't know what kind of life you have had and the hardships you may have had," he began looking her straight in the eyes. "But I will tell you I'm far from heartless. Perhaps my choice of words was inproper, but I would gladly see to it that measures are taken to ensure that my loved ones are not killed." He turned towards the house, unable to hear what his sisters and James were discussing. The two young women in there were the reason he would have others die. If wanting to protect them made him heartless, then he would just have to accept it.

"Rita. I don't know how much you know about the Romanos, but right now they own this city. They have threatened the people I love. Are you sure you know what you're doing here?" he asked.

Conor motioned towards the house door. "Let's go inside," he suggested, his tone still kind and gentle. He couldn't blame her for her observations, but suggesting he was heartless and hiding behind others had annoyed him.

Inside the house, Conor led Rita into the room. The others knew who Rita was already, but he wasn't sure if she knew them. "Rita," he began, the smile retuning to his face. "This is my older sister, Lucy, and my little sister, Sinead," he introduced his sisters. He then offered her a seat on one of the sofas. Taking a seat himself opposite his sisters. He was aware she already knew James as he'd gone to pick her up the previous evening.

"Hello, Rita," Sinead spoke up, sending her a bright smile. "It's good to see you again. How are you?" she asked.

Vinnie watched as Michael entered the room and nodded to him as he took his seat at the table. He raised a curious eyebrow as the man noted Hans was a German immigrant. "You are correct, Michael. I've mentioned on many occasions that a man's race and nationality mean very little to me. Loyalty and competency are what matter," he explained, looking around the table to each person present. "Besides which, my own parents were immigrants."

Vinnie coughed to clear his throat. He didn't have time for small talk this morning. "Now, Michael. I was just discussing Sergeant Hunter. I want you and Fortuna to deal with him. I want him out of our way for good. Can you both do that?" He seriously asked.

"As for the Sullivans. I will make myself clear now. Lucy and Sinead are off limits - nobody touches them until I say." Lucy was personal, she killed Gianna so she would be dealt with by Gianna's closest family only. "Conor and James..." he began. He paused, realising he needed someone else in the room. He excused himself for a moment and left the room.

Leo looked to Alena and sighed, seeing how much she was affected by this. "That's okay, Lena. You have to deal with this your way. I'm here for you no matter what you need. I know I didn't exactly show it lately but I care for you and you should know I'd do anything you ask of me, okay?" he reassured her, looking her in the eyes. "I lo- "

"Alena!" Vinnie called out. "Get your sister - if she wants in on this meeting she needs to get her ass in the meeting room now. You too, if this is what you really want," he said, still not fond of them partaking in his business. But Gianna was their mother. He glanced to Leo before walking away. Whilst he liked that he was safe for Gianna, he also wished he'd toughen up now.

Fortuna flashed a smile at her boss as he disappeared out the door, before immediately turning her gaze back towards the two other men with her in the room. "Michael, darling," She addressed her fellow hitman, directing her pitch black eyes towards him, attaching her usual term of endearment at his name. "Do you happen to have any suggestions on how we should deal with this little... problem of ours?" The way she had worded it seemed innocent enough, speaking so casually in a way that one would think she was simply discussing the weather, but they were both very much aware of the underlying meaning behind it. Sergeant Matthew Hunters was a problem, and he was one they had allowed to roam free for long enough.

Michael turned his gaze to the women as she spoke listening to her questions before turning his gaze to his suitcase and extending an arm out taking off the straps that held the suitcase closed before opening it and gazing inside. There would be a couple of weapons inside, a Silenced German Pistol would be one of the items he took out and would inspect it for a moment thinking to himself but shook his head and put the weapon back into it's rightful place. Though he would take something else out, if anyone knew about narcotics they would know it would be poison.

The door to the room creaked open, allowing Angel to fuddle into the room. He was dressed for the occasion - as usual. He sported a black suit, however, it was the red tie that drew most of the attention. Angel's elusive behavior was the elephant in the room, as he had even missed Vinnie's party.

His bruised, scabbed knuckles became an eye sore once in the light, suggesting he missed the occasion due to other important matters. He wore heavy sunglasses to battle the colossal hangover he was suffering. Pulling up a chair, he sat at the Romano table. Without saying a word, he rested his canteen of water on the wood and leaned back.

"Evening," Angel managed to stammer, pressing the canteen to his lips.

Vinnie had only just returned to the meeting room and sat down when Angel made his unexpected entrance. He noticed him looking somewhat dishevelled with scabs on his knuckles. This was Vinnie's first day back in action since Gianna's death, but Angel's absence had not slipped his attention. "Nice of you to join us, Giovanni," the boss flatly spoke up. He then stood from his seat and pointed to the door. "A word. In private," he firmly told him.

Vinnie led Angel into a smaller meeting room but didn't sit down after closing the door behind them. "So, tell me where you've been." Whilst he was not at all happy with Angel's disappearance at such a bad time for the Romanos, he would give him chance to explain. Besides which, his mind had been cast back a few weeks earlier and there was a way Angel could repay him whilst helping get revenge on the Sullivans.

Angel nodded, sluggishly pulling himself out of his seat. He dragged the canteen along with him, following behind Vinnie.

Angel took a sip of the water before securing the screw over the hole. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand before speaking. "Well, I decided I'd take a relaxing, all-expenses-paid vacation in the slammer." Angel moved towards the wall, resting his hand on his temple. "After my restaurant was reduced to a smoldering wreckage, they tried to pin me with insurance fraud. Said I staged the whole thing. They threw me behind bars for the week until they had enough evidence for my trial, which is obviously bullshit. After they decided they couldn't pin me for it, they tossed me out on the street with a 'sorry for the inconvience'."

Angel took another swig of the water. "A lot of pissed off Sullivans behind bars," Angel said, referring to his knuckles. Pulling down his glasses, he revealed a healing black eye, "A lot of 'em."

Vinnie listened to Angel's explanation, frowning as he mentioned the cops had tried to pin something on him. His frown only deepened at mention of the Sullivans being the cause of his cuts and bruises.

"Yes, the cops have been sniffing round more since Gianna was murdered. As for the Sullivans, they'll have much more to be pissed off about soon. They're all going to pay for what they did to Gianna, and your restaurant. Not to mention all of the shit Conor was pulling before that." He paused for a moment as he mulled things over. "Now you're feeling refreshed and extra motivated by your run-ins with the imprisoned Sullivans, I know how you can help both of us hit back at them." He gave a small smile, no longer held back by any pity for the young woman in question. "It came to my attention that after you saved Sinead from being shot, she drove over to my home in what can only be assumed was to take her anger out on me. Apparently you were able to talk her out of it and get her to run along home. I want you to take advantage of being her hero and get her to trust you. I looked into her eyes the night my wife was killed and among other things, she was disgusted by her own family's actions. We can use her against the rest of her family and you can do your bit to destroy the sweet angel they love." To anyone who didn't know Vinnie, they would think this was a casual suggestion. Angel would likely know this was an order.

Angel rubbed the scruff that was beginning to form on his face. He seemed to have fallen into a daze; staring at the floor. A slight, sincere smile formed on his lips as he thought of Sinead. Remembering where he was, he quickly dismissed it. Clearing his throat, he responded. "She could definetly be an asset. I'm sure I can gain her trust, i've already risked my life for her," Angel looked to Vinnie now, the poorly lit hallway eliminating most of his attractive features. "We must keep this between you and I. The fewer people know about your plan to manipulate Sinead, the better."

Vinnie smiled at Angel as he listened to his proactive response. "That's what I like to hear," he spoke up. He was growing tired of lazy or argumentative employees. Now he needed people who were going to stop asking questions and just do the job they're given. "I'm right ahead of you there. I've already told the others that Lucy and Sinead are off-limits. I'd also prefer the business with Sinead to be kept quiet. Lucy killed Gianna, so she's to be taken care of with a more personal touch."

Vinnie began walking back out to the main meeting room." Come on. There's plenty more left to discuss with the others," he said, allowing Angel to continue with his greeting to the others present.

as Alex took her last drag of her cigarette she blinked back tears, letting her emotions dull back as she exhaled the smoke. She stood up and put out her cigarette in a nearby ashtray as she kept an eye on the main door behind her, she didnt want anyone to see her in such a vulnerable state, knowing that this would lead her to be left out of any actions or plans her family made, she could not be seen as weak, she had to be strong. Alex took a few shaky breaths as she wiped the tears from her eyes. She took out her powder from her bag and examined her puffy eyes in the mirror, sighing Alex used some concealer to hide the redness and some powder to even it out so to hide any signs that she had been crying, once the evidence was hidden to the best of her ability, Alex placed the mirror back into her bag, she looked around the room once more before making her way back towards the Lobby. As Alex approached she heard her father tell Alena that they could join in on the meeting before she watched Angel arrive and walk into the meeting room. Alex took a deep breath before standing tall, holding her head high as a sense of confidence took over her body, her facial expression was a mix of being unimpressed and business like as she feigned the confidence in which she recognized Fortuna to usually hold, so to hide any emotions which may still be lingering after her breakdown in the ballroom. Alex walked over and grabbed Alena's hand "remember you dont have to do this, if you dont want to Laney. I can fill you in later if youd rather stay out here with Leo" she said this softly and quietly to Alena before squeezing her hand reassuringly and letting go. Alex turned and made her way into the meeting room, so to allow Alena to make her choice and if she decided on joining the meeting than to say her goodbyes to Leo. Alena opened the door and confidently walked inside "hello" she greeted, her voice coming across as indifferent and lacking any warmness as she took a seat beside Angel. She sat back in the chair and crossed her legs as she watched her father waiting for him to speak again. To anyone who hadn't seen Alex in weeks would instantly realize that this was not the same Alex that they used to know.

Vinnie looked at Alex as she entered the room and waited for her to sit down before faintly smiling. After a moment of silence, he sat up straight and looked around at the others who were sat there. "Conor Sullivan should have been out of our way weeks ago if it wasn't for the incompetence of those tasked with overseeing it." Not to mention his irritation that Alex got shot in the crossfire. "Now, we have the cops sniffling around more than ever and Detective Edwards cannot be taken out of the equation in the same way as Sergeant Hunter. Which means, dead Sullivans are not an option at this time. I want to watch Conor suffer and then I want him behind bars where he can do nothing to protect his family. I haven't forgotten about that pain in the ass, James Porter, either." He briefly glanced to Alex. "First, can I have volunteers and suggestions for Conor?" he asked.

After speaking with each other, Shannon and Emmet agreed she would take over this meeting. Emmet wasn't big on such confrontations - the distinction between family matters and business matters was a little cloudy on this one. With what Shannon had in mind, she didn't doubt she would end up upsetting someone and that was familiar territory, especially where Sinead was concerned.

Shannon entered the lounge where everyone was now gathered, she let Emmet take a seat on one of the sofas around the large glass coffee table. Before she sat down, Shannon pulled Luca to one side and spoke so only he could hear her. "Just go with whatever I say, Luca," she told him. "Trust me."

Shannon then joined the others and before anything else, she approached Rita. "Rita, it's a pleasure to see you again. I apologise for this seeming like a family issue, but to move forward with business we must first discuss past actions and their consequences. Emmet and I would be more than happy to have your input should you think of ways to assist."

Shannon paid attention to where everyone was seated before carefully choosing where she wished to sit. She asked Conor to budge up a little so she had a direct view of James and Lucy, as well as being next to Conor himself. Those who knew Shannon enough would be able to tell this wasn't just some cosy family meeting around the coffee table - James could tell by the way she looked at him alone.

"James," Shannon began, her tone cold and forceful. She liked the man, but his actions had pissed Emmet off and that made her more determined to clear things up. "I'm not sure if I believe what I've been told about what happened at Vinnie's party. You had a plan and that plan was to kill Vinnie. You're a meticulous man and one I don't believe I have ever known to make a mistake, so I'm not sure why Lucy was there and why things weren't as straightforward as they should have been." She looked at Conor and then Lucy, before fixing her stern eyes back on James. "I'm shocked that you shot Gianna. I've been told about where Vinnie and Gianna were when you shot her. I know even with a fast movement, you would not have missed Vinnie. You've taken shots from much further away, under poorer conditions and with fast moving targets - you don't miss a target, James. So why the Hell did you shoot Gianna?!" she asked. Although her voice was calm, there was anger within it.

"Mrs. Sullivan... I'm a good shot, but I'm not perfect. Sinead has told you her presence was nothing to do with me and we've agreed it affected my plans." James kept his voice level, but he could see Shannon wasn't going to back down so easily. The lady could be quite scary when she needed to be and with Emmet also angry with him, he knew he was in the shit right now. The only thing he could do was accept whatever was coming his way. If it protected Lucy and helped the family move on, then what choice did he have?"

"You've fucked up, James and you've dragged my family so far into trouble with the Romanos that I'm not sure how we'll get out of it. You should have made sure you killed Vinnie that night too." She looked to Lucy before setting her eyes on Sinead and Carrick. "The Romanos have promised to leave Sinead and Carrick alone if we hand Gianna's killer over to him." Shannon bit her lip as she searched for her next words. "What choice do we have, James? I can't watch any of my children die. I need to do everything I can to protect them..."

"Mom, seriously?!" Conor inerrupted, sending his mother a perplexed look. Shannon was suggesting they handed James over to the Romanos and that upset Conor greatly.

"No, Conor. She has a point," James conceded. "My job here is to protect this family, no matter what the risks. If that means giving Vinnie what he wants to ensure Sinead and Carrick can keep their own lives, then what choice do I have?" James was shocked that Shannon would suggest such a thing, but he also understood a mother's need to protect her family. Although he kept his expression cold and serious, Lucy would likely detect the fear that he hid well from everyone else.
