Angel pressed through the wooden door, causing the bell to emit a loud "dinging" sound throughout the shop, "Mornin', Peter." He continued to the counter, slapping his fingers onto the wooden desk. "That and one other thing." He looked around the store as he tucked his sun glasses into into the crevice of his shirt. He let out a sigh, resting his hands on his hips as he examined the clothing rack. "Ah! There!" He pointed directly to the black blazer jacket with studded cufflinks, hung up on a rack. He strutted over to the jacket, feeling the fabric intently. He picked it up by the clothes rack, giving it one more look over. Smiling with satisfaction, he moved back over to the counter. He then laid it on the table, delicately. "There we are. Now, for Vinnie's suit."

Sinead and Conor Sullivan

untitled-png.320164

Conor loved helping his siblings and doing what he could to cheer them up, which is why he was happy to take Sinead shopping. But if he had to watch her deliberate over which dress she wanted any longer, he would consider stealing one of them just so he could be arrested and locked away where he couldn't see another dress. And she forgot to mention all of her cash was back in her apartment, if not stolen. It was a good job he cared so much about her and had some money to spare. As he pulled up close to Smithson's clothes store, Conor turned to Sinead and smiled. He'd been in this shop a number of times and he recalled it was big. There would be lots of dresses, so he decided to give Sinead a head start whilst he had a rest. "You go on inside and I'll catch up to you," he suggested. Sinead grinned at her brother, knowing she was sending him insane. She would make this their last stop as she was confident she'd be able to buy a few more dresses from the store as it was where she bought most of her outfits for on stage. When Sinead got out of the car, Conor sat back in his car seat and let out a deep, relaxing breath, keeping his eyes on what was going on around his car.

Peter nodded as Angel placed the jacket on the counter. "Good choice," he commented as he began to carefully fold and wrap the clothing. He would then take the cash from Angel before the man asked for Vinnie's suit. "Of course," he said. He crouched down and unlocked the safe below the cash register. He then removed the box and placed it on the counter. "It's all sealed and everything is accounted for inside," he assured him. "Vinnie will inspect the contents himself," he added.

Sinead entered the store and started walking towards the ladies' clothing, around about the same time Angel was walking towards her. She was looking down at her shoes as she walked, silently cursing yet another pair of torturous footwear. She was starting to wonder if it would be such a crime to wear flat shoes. Surely nobody was paying attention anyway? Just like how she wasn't paying attention to where she was walking. Sinead felt herself collide with something - or someone? She bumped into Angel, causing him to drop the box he'd picked up for Vinnie. Thankfully, the box had been well sealed. "Oh God, sorry!" she quickly apologised, not even looking to Angel but instead crouching down to retrieve the box from the floor. "Why is everything going wrong?!" she helplessly complained to herself. As she stood back up to hand the package to Angel, she finally looked up to see his face. He was familiar, that she did know. She was pretty sure she'd seen him with some of the Romanos before. "I wasn't looking where I was going," she explained, her voice a little shaky and her eyes reflecting her troubled mood.

"Hmm," Kate began, deciding to tease Luca a little. "I'd say the location of your pain suggests a severe medical condition. It's quite possible you're going to have a heart attack. I think you need a hospital, not lunch," she remarked. She eventually relented and a crooked smile crossed her face. "Where are you taking me for lunch?" she asked, as she briefly walk away to grab her coat. "If I stay in this house any longer I might die of boredom." She stepped outside and locked the door behind her. She then looked to Luca and outstretched her arm int he direction of the street. "Lead the way, Sir."

Angel smiled to Peter, patting the wrapped jacket. "We'll be the two best dressed men in town." He offered him a nod before moving away from the counter. His smile quickly faded as he snaked through the various clothing racks to the exit. Holding the box in one hand, he attempted to weigh it to guess the contents. He didn't dare to shake it with the open possibility of turning this nice store into a smoldering crater. His eyes fixed on the exit as his lips pressed together to belt out a symphony in the form of a whistle. His melody was stopped abruptly by the shoulder of a petite woman. She knocked the package right from his hand, like a defender knocking the football loose from the runner. His heart came to a holt as the package bounced off the floor like a bowling ball. To his relief, it remained sealed. Before he had time to react, the woman scooped the package off the floor. As she looked up, he instantly recognized her. "No harm done. Besides, I wasn't really paying attention myself." He gave her a friendly smile, cocking his head slighty. "Sinead, right? I'm Giovanni. I'm.. uh.. friendly with your brother, Conor." He secured the package in his arm so he could offer her his hand.

Sinead observed the man as he said there was no harm done. His response and smile suggested she didn't need to worry, but believing he was one of the Romano gang made her uncomfortable. When he seemed to know her name and then said he was friendly with Conor, she tightly folded her arms in front of her. "You're friendly with Conor?" she suspiciously asked. It was clear she was nervous around Angel. After what had happened to her last night, she was still afraid something else was going to happen to her. Standing in front of the Italian did nothing to ease those fears. Not wanting to anger him, she shook his hand, her own dainty, soft hand trembling as she did. "You know, Conor is waiting for me outside," she told Angel. She wasn't merely stating a fact, she was hoping it would deter Angel from harming her, if that was his intention.

Luca had to smile when Kate started to tease him a little by suggesting he had a medical problem. "I sure hope it isn't that dangerous." Luca responded tl her comment before smirking once she went to grab her coat. "Well I know a diner that goes by Diner DI Anillo or Cafe D'Angelo under the Sullivan territory." He actually no idea why the cafe went by his last name and had even asked the owner but he never answered. "I been to both and they have really good food, they are just located in a different territory mostly because one was placed on the Sullivan territory while the other is in neutral place." He had visited them both every once in a while when he wasn't trying to go to the Pub, they even made an interesting style of food. Luca had walked to his car before opening the passenger seat door to her. "Milady."

Alena heard a sigh from her father has he turned around and walked away. He left her. Alena hated how stubborn she was and her father, because this was not easy. As for their relationship, it was bittersweet. Alena regained herself after a couple of minutes of breaking down. She hated herself at the moment for doing so, because it showed her weak side and she didn't like that at all. It was why she built up a wall all these years and not to mention after the incident that happened. Alena fixed herself before she heard someone walking over. She wasn't in the right state of mind so it took her long to realize who was speaking to her. "Oh Leo, it's just you." She said to him as she gave him a quick smile before clearing her throat.

Alena had known Leo for quite some time now, and she has grown rather fond of him. But apart from Giovanni, who never seems to be around, Leo fills that void and he makes her feel safe. When they're together, they're a couple of goofballs. She "I'm fine, and he didn't do anything this time, but it feels like it." Alena said to him as she watched her father get in the car with her mother. Alena felt pretty irritated that her father left her here, so now she was to find her own way home. Alena was going to take her sweet time getting home since her father did that to her. She didn't care at this point anymore, so she hoped that he wouldn't get mad at her for coming home late since clearly, he means for her to find her own way back. Alena looked back at Leo, "I don't feel like going back home right now," she said to him as she took in a deep breath and then let it all out again. "Can I--um...stay with you for a while," she asked him as she cleared her throat.

Angel used his freehand, in which she rejected his handshake, to lean on the clothing rack next to them. "Yeah, friendly is the appropriate term. I've come into the Emerald a handful of times," Angel said, looking up at the sky as he rumanited his time spent in the Irish pub. "Haven't been kicked out yet," Angel said, smiling once again. "Really? He's outside waiting for you?" Angel cocked his eyebrow. "Don't you want a critic with you when you're picking out your clothing?" Angel looked both ways, lowering his voice substantially. "Especially when it's this expensive."

For some reason, as Angel spoke, Sinead felt a little more at ease. He didn't seem to be threatening and hadn't looked at all worried to hear Conor was nearby. She managed to smile a little as he continued to speak to her. "Well, if you haven't been kicked out of the pub yet, he must be okay with you. Conor throws a lot of people out of the Emerald," she half-joked. "He's been around many shops with me and seen many dresses. I believe he's tired of being my second opinion," she noted. When he mentioned the expensive nature of the shop, she nodded her head. "Of course, he's very critical of the prices - he's been paying. Apparently, you're not so reluctant to pay," she noted, pointing to the purchases Angel was holding.

Sinead wondered if her initial impression of Angel had been too harsh. She was sure he was loyal to the Romanos, but he didn't seem threatening towards her. She was sure he'd have left her alone once hearing Conor was nearby, if he did have something to hide.

"As long as the food is good, I'll let you decide where we eat. Sullivan territory, Romano territory.... you crooks are all the same to me," she remarked, with a wink. It was true. The gang members she knew all had their good points and they all had asshole tendencies too. As long as they didn't force her to choose a side or try to use her, she was happy to be around any of them. Kate followed Luca to the car and thanked him as he held the door open for her to get into the passenger side. Once he set off driving, she glanced to him before looking out onto the road ahead. "Did everything ho alright last night? I figured with Conor and James turning up, it was my queue to get home before any kind of chaos kicked off."

Leo grinned when Alena said her father hadn't done anything this time. "We're standing outside a church, Lena. Don't you be lying to me. Your father is Vincenzo Romano - he's always done something, even when he hasn't," he said, laughing. He followed her gaze towards her parents who were getting into the car. "Unless it's you who has upset him," he joked. When she said she didn't feel up to going home yet and wanted to stay with him, he shrugged his shoulders. Catching Monte's eye, he gave him a thumbs up in acknowledgement and to say Alena was fine with him. He looked back to her and folded his arms as he pretended to think about her question. "Sure, you can stay with me. I don't have work today but I'll be going back to yours later anyway. I want to drag your brothers out this evening," he explained. "Come on, I'll take you for a drive and we can stop by Lake Michigan and have a coffee?" he suggested. "You can tell me all about what you've been up to. I haven't been to your house much lately." Leo enjoyed spending time with the Romano siblings. Having never had any siblings himself and growing up with an emotionally distant father, his childhood home had always been a lonely place.

Luca would had deny being a crook but considering the past of others, he couldn't say anything. Why he wasn't a crook? He wasn't a nice person at all too so he didn't have the guts to deny her words. "Don't worry, the food is good." He told her before deciding to settle on going to the fancy diner. He had been there like 3 times, so he knew how the food tasted and it was good. "Just the wrong people messing with a Sullivan." He could had said that the Romano's had targeted Sinead, but he decided to keep his mouth shut. After all this was somewhat like a date, and talking about business wouldn't do him any good.

Angel was a bit taken back by Sinead, as if he had forgotten that she was a human being. He usually saw her in photographs, contemplating how he could use her to devestate her family. He never stopped to think that this was a real person, with real feelings, and real ambitions. She almost made him feel guilty for his actions. Studying her face, Angel started to notice how gorgeous she was. "Um well.." This was the first women to ever leave Angel at a loss for words. "I don't mind spending a little bit more money on my clothing than the average guy. I'm not all that talented, so I use any leverage I can." Angel chuckled a bit, his eyes moving to the ground before looking back up at her again. "I think you could save the money; from what I hear, your voice tunes the life of lifeless people. Me... Eh," Angel shook his hand back and forth like the rocking of a boat, "Not so much. I'm the kind of singer you put on stage when it's after closing and people are still hanging around."

Kate grinned as Luca seemed to mull over being called a crook. She wondered if he knew about her own past as it was no secret she'd been in prison herself. Granted, she hadn't been a member of a gang, but she had blinded some asshole in one eye and learned how to look after herself whilst in jail. When he mentioned the wrong people had been messing with a Sullivan, she nodded her head. She knew how that went down and those wrong people were likely Vinnie's people. "As long as this diner serves a nice meaty dish, I'm happy," she told him, with a smile.

Sinead noticed Angel studying her face and struggling for words. This in turn made her feel self-conscious. Did she have something on her face? Had she said something inappropriate? She stopped wondering when the man continued to speak to her. When he mentioned what he'd heard of her singing, she blushed a little and looked down to her shoes for a short time. "Flattery will get you everywhere," she remarked, looking back to him. Something then struck her and she cleared her throat to stop from forgetting herself. Friendly with Conor or not, Angel was a gangster - a Romano member, at that. She was already taking a risk talking to him, even if just the risk of being told off by her family. "You should hear for yourself. The Whistler is open to all," she assured him. It had always been a neutral place, with last night's horror being the first bad thing to happen there. "They won't let you on the stage, though. No matter how empty it gets after closing," she lightly warned him.

From her place on the sofa, Alex would hear the front door open as he parents stepped inside. After hanging up his hat, Vinnie stepped into the lounge and saw Alex home before them. As he approached her, he slyly ruffled her hair before sitting in the armchair opposite her, grinning slightly. "How was your shift at work, Alexandra?" he asked her. She would find it difficult to tell if he was casually asking her or if he was questioning. Perhaps it was just her guilty conscience making her uncertain.

Luca nodded at her when she talked what she wanted to eat. "It serves all type of food Kate, so no need to worry on that." That's what he liked about the place, it served every type of food that they could make, even some Italian dishes that he heard from before. "They have dishes from Italy that I haven't heard of tasted, it uniqueness on food is what pique my attention earlier." He told her while parking outside the diner. "I should really buy a car that isn't orange." He muttered to himself.

"Well, next time you're up there, look for me in the crowd," He said with a genuine smile. He slowly nodded his head, letting silence fill the void momentarily. He let out a burst of rapid blinks as he snapped out of his train of thought. "Right, I best head out. Good luck on the shopping spree," He said, sending her a friendly wink. Turning on his heels, he headed for the door. His smile instantly faded as the gravity of his actions entered his mind. Letting reality set in, he scanned the parking lot for Conor. Not even 24 hours ago he was using her chandelier as a piñata and now here he was socializing with her. "I gotta' get the fuck outta' here," Angel murmured to himself as he rapidly made his way to his car.

"I'll do that. I have a good eye for finding people in the crowd," Sinead assured him. One of her favourite things to do whilst singing was memorise the faces of those watching her - it relaxed her to know she wasn't one of the only ones in the club being watched. Angel then wished her luck on her spree. "I don't need luck when I'm shopping. I know exactly what to do," she remarked. She watched him walk away until he had left the store completely, and then continued on her way towards the dresses. The exchange she'd had was an interesting one and she didn't know how to feel about it. Figuring it was just one of those chance meetings, she focused back on finding something to wear on stage that evening.

As Angel walked to the car, he didn't escape Conor's attention as the Irishman watched from a distance. Practically diving out of his car, Conor rushed over to his sort-of-friend. "Angel!" he called out once he was a short distance away. "Are you good?" he asked, his voice firm, with a friendly smile present. But who knew when Conor's smile was about to disappear and his demeanour change? He would catch up to Angel before continuing to speak. "Would you happen to know which sack of shit Vinnie sent to wreck my sister's apartment?" he asked, as his smile indeed left his face. "Don't worry, when I break their arms and legs I'll make sure nobody finds out you told me," he assured him.

"Well, I am fond of Italian food," Kate noted. Once the car was parked up, Kate stepped out of the vehicle and looked at the car's exterior, shrugging her shoulders. "A car's a car, Luca. You'll be sounding like James soon - I've never heard a person so protective over his paintwork. Although, I guess orange isn't the stealthiest of colours," she remarked. She would then let him lead her to the diner.

Alena raised an eyebrow when he said that to her,"Yeah...but I think I'm to blame for him always getting on my case. I'm stubborn," Alena told him as she let out a soft sigh before she ran her hand through her curly hair. Alena knew she was stubborn, and it was hard for her to open up to people since the incident since she has trust issues and they are truly affecting her and her father's relationship. Alena doesn't know how to fix it, because everytime he gets close to her, she just pushes him away and never shows him her emotions. "And where to might you guys be going?" Alena asked him as she crossed her arms as well and started walking forward, hoping that he would follow since he was the one going to be driving. And here is another prime example of Alena trying to literally take the lead. "I know my mother would think that this isn't 'ladylike' to ask, but I'm feeling like I have a craving for greasy foods. Fries, burgers, all of the works," Alena said to him with a slight chuckle before stopping in her tracks and turning around to face him once they were at the car. "Well, a lot has happened," Alena said to him as she walked over to the other side of the car and waited for him to open the door.

Alena liked Leo, he wasn't like the other guys around here. He was understanding, humorous, great listener, and a wonderful person to be around. Alena felt like herself with Leo, it allowed her to show the sides that she barely shows to the public.

Alex sat up slightly when she heard the front door open, judging from the footsteps she guessed it was her parents so she lay back down. When her father sat opposite her she leaned up on the couch pulling herself into more of sitting position as she brought her legs up under her. Alex's breath caught in her throat at her father's question, did he know? How would he know?. I hadn't see anyone that knew me and my father?
Alex held the fear out of her facial expressions and instead went for a relaxed smile, she noted her fathers grin and relaxed a little, he wouldn't be smiling if he knew, would he? I'm being silly, off course he doesn't know he was in church. She didn't realize the guilt would hit her this hard, hell she hadn't felt guilty at all till she was face to face with her father. It felt like hours had passed before she answered but in reality it had only be a second or two.
"Yeah it was alright, the same regulars came in so I had a few nice chats" She shrugged, the relaxed smile still present on her face, while inside she was doing her best not to hyperventilate. "How was church?" She wanted to get the attention shifted elsewhere so she could relax.

"Which is why I want to buy a darker color car, I been meaning to do it but I haven't had time lately." Luca spent so much time bringing in new information on enemies and packages that they could steal, that he barely had time to do something as simple as buying a new car. Once he opened the door and watched Kate go in, he went to one of the waiter and started speaking to him in Italian, before they were lead to one of the table. "So last time you learned some simple things about me, how about sharing something that you deem fit to tell." He wasn't one to pry on others life, he just found her interesting.

Angel strolled towards his black 1949 Chevrolet, easily noticeable in the almost-empty parking lot. Still deep in thought; he hardly noticed someone shouting, let alone the name being shouted. He casually tossed the box in the back, seeing as it was fine when Sinead hit it out of his hand. He then cautiously laid the blazer on the seat, patting it down to remove any wrinkles. He closed the door and shifted his position towards the driver's door, when he heard someone approach from behind him. He turned on his heels to see Conor directly in front of him. Despite his run in with Sinead, he was happy to see a friendly face. "Ah, Conor. I'm great. How about yourself?" Angel leaned on the car door, clearly in no rush to get out. He frowned slightly, shrugging his shoulders, "I'm afraid not. I'm still basically bookie, I don't get involved with that kind of work. I'm happy to go to town on some disrespectful asshole who's just asking for it, but an innocent woman like your sister?" He looked down at the floor, shaking his head with a look of disappointment, "Im sorry it's come to this, I'm really disgusted with the whole thing. I didn't even want to hear about it. I actually just saw Sinead inside. She looked a little shook, but I made her aware that I was no harm to her."

"Well, I'm glad to hear you had a good shift," Vinnie told Alex. "I was almost going to detour in to the diner myself, but decided we have plenty to eat and drink here," he added. He sat back as she asked about church. "Church was as you'd expect," he vaguely told her. It was no different to the previous times and he knew each person had their own opinion on going there. "What are your plans for the rest of the day?" he curiously asked. He needed to know where everyone was going to be that evening.

"I'm good, Angel. I just wish the rest of my family was," he pointedly told him. When Angel denied any knowledge and played down his own position in the Romanos, Conor folded his arms and nodded his head. "I didn't think he could, but Vinnie has gone too far this time. I thought a man with daughters himself would understand not to involve someone as innocent and good as my sister. I want to know who he used to threaten her." When Angel mentioned he'd just seen Sinead, Conor's eyes briefly pierced through Angel's skull before he relaxed and remembered the man wasn't a threat. "Yeah, she's shook up and unsurprisingly so." They'd been making light of her cheering herself up by buying clothes, but they all knew she was a more complex person than that and the excitement at dresses was just a front. Although, she was still intending on singing at the club tonight, which made Conor hopeful she was fighting this. "She's not going to stop doing what she likes and it's only brought my family closer together."

Alex smiled at her fathers comment about deciding against the detour, "Well you would have gotten the best service in town" She laughed. Alex was absolutely delighted that her father had decided against the detour, she couldn't shake the guilt but she hid it well.
When her asked what her plans were for the evening, Alex shrugged and looked at her father "It's a bit early for plans" she commented "I dont know I was thinking maybe bring Alena for a drink or a walk somewhere to talk, she hasn't been in the best form lately". It was more likely that Alex was going to sneak out and walk the town but as she had said it was a bit too early to tell.

"Nah, I think Vinnie lives to get on people's cases, but I'm sure he's only on yours because he cares," Leo assured Alena. He'd been present in the Romano household when Alena was kidnapped, so he felt he understood part of why her father was as strict as he was. "You'll both just have to stop trying to out-stubborn each other."

When asked where he intended on going that night, he shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know yet. The Fox, a casino or a club. As long as there's alcohol I'll be on board," he told her. He then began following her as she walked towards his car. When she mentioned wanting greasy food, he couldn't help but smile. "Oh, thank God. I could kill for a burger right now. Let's do that!" he said, hoping he could cheer her up. He unlocked his car so they could both get inside. "So, come on. Tell me what has happened," he probed as he started the engine and set off driving towards the first burger joint he could think of.

Kate followed Luca into the restaurant and smiled at the waiter as they were taken to their table. When they were sat down and he asked her to tell him something about her, she casually shrugged her shoulders. "I'm an open book, Luca. Most things I deem fit to tell others. I used to be a real nurse, a sweet and unimposing wallflower," she said, almost scoffing as she thought back to the old Kate. "Then a sleazy doctor decided to keep hassling me and I ended up glassing him in the eye. Not my proudest moment, but I don't regret it. After a few months in jail, you're now left with a backstreet nurse and part-time tailor, who sees the World for what it really is and doesn't let anyone take advantage of her." She grinned to herself. "I wouldn't have it any other way. You gangsters are far more interesting than stuffy medical professionals."

Luca had to smile before shaking his head at her. "I don't want to know the Kate from before, I want to know what makes Kate into the Kate I know? I want to know your dislike, likes and future plans." He questioned her before smiling. "I'm trying to get to know the Beautiful Kate I see here, not the one from before." Sometimes he really didn't care about the past of others, but he liked to know things that they liked to do. Sure it didn't sound like something that he should be doing but he felt that it was better to get to know the person whom he was speaking with. "Like for me I like Spicy food yet I dislike traitors." He had many things that he liked and disliked, so he said the one thing he liked and hated the most first.

"That's good to hear. She's a strong girl." Angel smiled with nod, still leaning on the driver's door. "Well, I got some stuff to take care of. I'll catch you later, Conor. Maybe i'll stop by the pub and buy a round." Angel nodded to him before getting in his car. Pulling the keys in the ignition, the car started up fairly fast - compared to other motor vehicles these days. As he moved out of the parking lot, he patted the revolver hidden in his shoulder holster, "Not today, ol' friend." With a smile, he drove off to the Romano household.

Alena couldn't help but laugh at what Leo said, it felt nice to laugh. She hadn't done that in a while and frankly, it was what she needed at the moment, well partially what she needed. "I hope to see that day when he and I aren't at each other's throats," Alena told him as she got into the car. As Leo began to drive off, Alena hummed a soft tune that she would hum whenever she was in her emotional state of mind. "How can you drink on a Sunday?" Alena asked him as she heard his response. Alena has wanted to try drinking since she seems just about her entire family drinking (only on occasions).

"Sounds like a plan," Alena told him when he agreed to go to a burger joint to grab something to eat. Alena's mother wouldn't approve so much of eating unhealthy food, but Alena needs some kind of delightful pleasure that will settle her cravings. Alena watched as they pulled up at a restaurant, she has never been to this restaurant before but as soon as she opened the door, she could smell the food from the parking. "Mhmm, something smells good," Alena said out loud. "I will explain it to you inside," she told him as she got out the car and closed the door and then she waited for Leo to walk out.

"How is it too early for you to plan this evening?" Vinnie asked Alex, with a smile on his face. "You should always have a plan, Alexandra." When she mentioned taking Alena out for a drink, Vinnie shifted uncomfortably in his seat. He didn't want to upset the girls again by forbidding them from going out, but he also needed to know they were going to be somewhere safe this evening. "I'd prefer if you took one of your brothers with you or tell me where you're going beforehand so I can make sure it's safe." He was distracted when Angel entered the house but looked back to his daughter for a moment. "I'm not saying no, but I want to know you two aren't by yourselves," he sternly told Alex.

Vinnie got up and motioned for Angel to follow him into the study. Once they were both inside the room, he closed the door behind them. He took the box from Angel and placed it on the desk as he retrieved a small knife from his drawer. "Thank you, Angel," he said as he sliced through the tape that was sealing the box shut. He lifted the box lid to reveal the folded up black suit. When he pulled out the blazer, he smiled to see the wads of cash that had been concealed. "This is only a deposit," he spoke up. "It looks the CPD will be losing a police sergeant in a few days," he remarked. He would need to get a plan together for that once the business of the next two days was done with. Vinnie took one of the cash bundles and placed it into Angel's hand. "A reward, my friend. You've been working overtime lately and I have a small job for you to arrange for tonight. I've been informed that Sinead had reserves a table at the Whistler, no doubt for family members, and I need one of your men to deliver justice for what happened to Maite last night. I want it to be made clear that Sinead is kept out of it this time," he added. "I'll never hear the end of it from my wife and daughters if that girl so much as breaks a fingernail because of me."

"Oh, Luca, I'm really quite a simple person," Kate told him, sitting back in her chair and crossing her legs. "I like to read books, fact and fiction. I like to go out for a drink and sit at a table where I can watch other people. You learn so much about people by observing them when they don't know they're being watched. And food, well, I'm happy enough with a good steak." She tapped her fingernails on the table as she pondered her dislikes. "I don't like people who play mind games and I hate lawyers. I can imagine traitors is high on my list too, but I like to think I don't give anyone a reason to stab me in the back."

"What do you mean how can I drink on a Sunday? I can drink any day of the week," he said, chuckling. "Besides, when you work the kinds of shifts I do, you can't pick and choose which day to get drunk... That's something else that we can blame on your old man," he joked. "I think you should come out drinking with us tonight," he suggested.

Once they were in the restaurant and sat down, Leo looked to Alena expecting her to finally answer his question about what had happened with her father. "So, come on. Tell me what has happened so I can give you some of my low quality advice."
