Gianna went to sleep late last night trying to finish a few paperwork for the restaurants and other businesses. She also was thinking about taking the family to Italy to see where their roots came from and introduce them to a few of hers and her husbands family members. But Gianna knew it would take an army to take her children on a trip since most of them would oppose. When Gianna woke up in the morning, she felt near her and didn't feel anything. Vinnie was always the first one out of bed before her and especially since it was Sunday. Gianna could see right through him that he lowkey loved annoying others and forcing them to go to church even though they didn't want to. Gianna ran her hand through her messy hair as she got up and went to take a quick bath before she got dressed, she wore a white blouse and a red pencil skirt with black heels. Gianna dried her hair off and then straightened it. When she was done, she made her way downstairs. She left a trail of her sweet perfume in the hallway as she walked.

Gianna could smell the breakfast from downstairs and she went straight to the kitchen,"Good morning darling." She said to Vinnie as she gave him a kiss on the cheeks and began taking out plates. Gianna set the plates at the table and helped Vince with the breakfast,"You always pick the wrong time to go pick up a shipment. If I were you, I would have the shipment be dropped off at 1 am instead of early in the night because by then the whole entire area is deserted and the cops won't be so much on your tails since they won't suspect the time the shipment would arrive. Or why not just pick a different location that is thirty miles from the port?" Gianna suggested as she made her way towards the table to sit down when she was done helping.

When Gianna was done eating, she got into the car with her husband and they left. When she got to the Church she went to go and look for an empty bench. She made sure the bench was cleared and that nobody was going to sit there.

Actions: Greeting her parents at the church

Alena had been up the whole entire night, she doesn't know if it's because of her thoughts that were keeping her up or if it was because of how her father is dragging her to go to church together. Alena loved church and everything but when she has to be forced to do something, it makes her not want to do it. Alena opened her eyes and she found herself under two warm blankets. She peeked her head out and ran her hand through her hair as she stayed in bed for five more minutes before she got out and went to the bathroom to freshen up. Alena had taken two or three baths yesterday, so she was fine. Alena looked at the clock when she walked out of the bathroom and she saw that she was late for church. She could smell the food from downstairs, but she didn't hear anything at all. Alena hated when they left her behind or when they couldn't wait for two seconds and nobody woke her up. Alena is not an early bird, so she takes her time.

When she is done, she walks downstairs in her heels that match the dress that she is wearing. Alena still remembered what her father said to her, so she dressed more conservative or at least not so showy today. Alena ate her food and she went out front where she told one of her father's men to take her to the church. Alena couldn't believe that she was going to church but she had to, and plus even if she didn't go her father would have a word with her later and her mother. When Alena got there, they didn't start just yet so she sighed in relief, but then she remembered that she forgot her Bible. Alena thought she might as well share with her mother. Alena got many stares from the men and especially the woman who gave her a dirty look and began talking about her. It's Sunday and people still wish to misbehave, She thought to herself as she made way inside and looked around for her parents and the others. When she spotted them, she made way and saw that Danny was here, but where was Maite. She greeted her mother and father. "Thank you for waiting for me," Alena said sarcastically as she shook her head. Alena also greeted Danny.

Fortuna simply stood off to the side as more and more people gradually began to join their little group. She turned her gaze away from Vinnie and Danny to look up at the rather underwhelming appearance of their local church. Though, she did continue to listen in on their exchange with one another, just to be safe. Her sharp black orbs roamed across the small structure. Believe it or not, the hitwoman was not at all a religious person. After all, in a world like this, it was highly unlikely that an all-forgiving god would exist.

Emmet Sullivan
gerardbutler1.jpg

Emmet had been sleeping hard, roused only by Shannon's stirrings in bed. Grumbling as he faced her, his blue eyes popped open and his lips were met with a kiss from his beautiful wife. He smiled, for an instant forgetting all the business, tragedy and anger that had been in his head as he slept. He'd missed her like crazy since she was gone.
"Good morning Mrs. Sullivan." Emmet's voice was rough, having slept facing down all night. He rolled back over, eyes half closed as he watched Shannon eventually drag herself out of bed, watching her get dressed and memorizing again every curve on her body, admiring the way the sun kissed her skin through the windows.
Minutes later Emmet followed in her footsteps, getting dressed in simple slacks, a black tie and suspenders. As Shannon retreated into the bathroom but for mere moments, Emmet strapped on his Colt, checking the mag before sliding it in the handgun with a definitive click.
The couple now dressed, made their way downstairs, where most of their family was assembled. Emmet watched from afar as Sinead was questioned by the police, a slight smile playing on his lips as he listened to her speak. She was no gang member, but she certainly knew what to do in this situation, and Emmet couldn't be more proud. Once the police had left, Emmet wandered over to Sinead, surprising his daughter from behind with a hug.
"Good morning a leanbh." He couldn't help but smile again. "What's on the menu for us today?"

Lloyd Castellano
300full.jpg

Lloyd, in usual drunken fashion, had slept through the whole evening without so much as a muscle twitching. An onlooker could perhaps think the young man was dead by his limp figure and seemingly inability to move.
The following day he woke with a long drawn out yawn, long arms stretching all the way down to the floor with ease. He rubbed his eyes, blinking the fog out of them as he gained consciousness. Upon first inspection, it seemed all the Azarolas were out, and tumbling onto the floor, Lloyd pushed himself up and stumbled to the kitchen half asleep to make coffee. His hair was a mess, sticking up in all sorts of directions, his clothes rumpled, face drooping still as his brain worked to wake up his body. His big hands struggled to keep in control as he fumbled the coffee, dumping half the ground beans on the counter and the other half where it was meant to be. Tired still, he'd made a quick mess of the kitchen and muttered profanities from both the English and Italian languages. Minutes later he returned to the couch, a poorly made coffee in one hand, the previous day's news in the other. The kitchen was still a disaster zone, but thinking he had time to clean it up before his friend's family returned, Lloyd had neglected to do it.

Monte Romano

Monte had risen at the crack of dawn, feeling energetic and refreshed. He donned a fresh new suit he'd just recently bought, combing back his hair and attending to his appearance in a quick and methodical manner. He wasn't much of a man of religion, though his father had raised him so, but he attended church anyway. He spent his time there watching the attendees, deciphering their feelings and emotions and interactions, and spent little to no time listening to what was being preached. Inspecting himself in a mirror, Monte decided he looked well enough, and with that exited his room, taking his time going down the stairs to meet the family before they all headed off to church. Monte usually drove alone, preferring the silence of driving himself to socializing with his family. Today was no different as he muttered polite, impersonal greetings to every member of his family that had assembled. Once they left, he left, though his slow driving had him arrive a fashionable five minutes after the rest of his family. As he walked through the church crowd, people parted, Monte's presence sending people steps back from him. It wasn't so much a cruel face or bad reputation, Monte just had the aura about him, a confidence people often shrunk back from. He didn't mind, of course, it fed his ego all the same. Settling in front of his father, family and others in the gang he clasped his hands behind his back, standing straight, face devoid of any emotion except maybe a hint of boredom.

CJ and Tyler Kelly

After witnessing the cops flock onto a shipment like hornets the night before, CJ had gotten out of bed early, waking his sister quickly with a rough shake. Tyler's eyes had popped open immediately, and with a quick glance at her brother, knew they were getting the hell out of the area. The siblings packed their stuff quickly, and within an hour had their suitcases packed and were leaving the hotel. While CJ would have preferred to take a cab, he and Tyler ended up walking across the city to a new hotel, checking in and dumping their goods as soon as they arrived. At a crisp 7 o'clock in the morning, air still sharp with the evening chill, Tyler and CJ headed out for another day of work. CJ had braided Tyler's hair, and she wore a sundress, looking as much like an innocent eleven year old girl as any other. CJ had put on one of his very few suits, and though it had stains, CJ had learned very well how to hide them, and looked nearly as sharp as any businessman that passed him in the streets, though his haircut was quite unconventional. He had green lining his pockets, but unlike the honest men who surrounded him, CJ's pockets were lined with a different kind of green, lined with cannabis and cocaine. Not a heavy cocaine user, CJ tried to keep his worse habit on the down low for Tyler's sake, though she knew all the same. As they reached a casino building, the duo split, and Tyler made a beeline for the nearest gambling man.
Peering up at him through golden lashes, she frowned.
"I'm-I'm Katie." She whimpered. "I lost my mommy I can't find her." Tyler stuck her lower lip out in a puppy dog plea, eyes round with feigned innocence. The man looked her up and down before half kneeling, smiling at Tyler.
"Don't worry little Katie. I'll help you find your mommy." He stood, and Tyler's face immediately brightened.
"Come on!" She grabbed him by the arm, dragging him deeper into the casino. It was the perfect plan, of course. The oblivious man had left his briefcase behind, and while CJ rummaged through the contents, Tyler's deft little hands flashed in and out of the gambler's pockets. A half hour later they were out, and CJ and Tyler strode through the streets, cash and valuables in hand as Tyler counted bills.
"Twenty dollars!" She gave her brother a toothy grin, stuffing the cash and coins in a hidden pocket she'd sewn in her dress. CJ looked down at his sister with a smile.
"Good job kiddo." He said, ruffling her hair. "Let's hit the Garden of Eden before we head back to the hotel."
CJ had heard good things about the place. It had a reputation for attracting a fair amount of people, and to CJ it seemed the perfect target.

Sable Sherman
GeneTierney-photo-06enhancedB_zpsa342b4fd.jpg~c200

Sable had slept wonderfully, waking like a princess, covered in thick, luxurious blankets, sunlight warming her face. Her air, of course, was no fairy tale, and having slept with it down, the strands were now a frizzy, tangled mess. An expert on beauty, while still in her nightgown she skillfully fixed her hair and did her makeup, dressing in a short, playful dress and heels. She'd knocked on Kitty's door to no avail, and with a frown had left for church without her friend. Sable was happy she looked good, a vibrant red lipstick painting her lips, cheeks rosy pink with rouge. Her dress cute, short black and pleated with buttons from mid chest up. As she walked at an up tempo pace, fire red heels clicked the pavement, a bright smile on the young woman's face. As she arrived at the church she sat quietly in the pew, though she visited with neighboring church goers. Movement caught her eye and Sable noticed a small group assembled, all finely dressed. Though not unusual, Sable was intrigued, watching them with interest as the thought of the gangsters Kitty had mentioned crossed her mind.
They couldn't be, she thought, but as she watched them she resolved to find out who they were if anything, wanting to help Kitty as much as she could since her friend was still fast asleep in her bed at home.

Conor Sullivan

"I can't speak for the food, but I'll do what I can to make everything else worthwhile for you," Conor told Alex as he flashed a charming smile. In reality, the food was alright, but nothing amazing. He'd just picked the diner because he knew it was somewhere relatively safe and would be quiet enough to relax in. "The view is pretty good from where I'm sitting right now, too," he assured her.

The pair were interrupted for a moment as the waitress came by to take their order. Ever the gentleman, Conor let Alex order first before he ordered himself a large breakfast. He had a big appetite which was easily burned off, so he could always afford to eat big meals. He waited for the waitress to leave before continuing to speak.

"What can I tell you about myself?" he pondered, gazing past Alex. He could have told her about his amazing family - the ones who hated her family. He could tell her about how he spent his time breaking the law. But that didn't need to be said. "I'm a business owner, as you know. I have a family that I love more than anything. I enjoy working out and having fun until the early hours. Really, I'm a model citizen - the kind of guy you can take home to meet your parents," he said, before chuckling at the absurdity of his answer. "What about you, Alex? Tell me something about yourself."

Angel adjusted his tie as he stood at the doors of the church. He looked around the crowd with a sense of curiosity. He attended church regularly, however, he still found it interesting that most of the people attending were fond of opposing the law. It was almost as if criminals were more religious than the average Joe. Angel refocused himself at the sound of Vinnie's voice. He chuckled slightly, keeping his eyes on the crowd. He then spoke in a hushed tone. "I hate to deny Cupid's arrow, but I think that I owe you more than a couple favors." He stood back up straight, his smile growing. He leaned back into Vinnie's ear once more, "If Martzel is complaining to Maite about my flirtation with Jona, it must be working."

Angel stood shoulder to shoulder with Vinnie and Fortuna, his eyes still inspecting the crowd. Finding people in the crowd Angel knew wasn't hard, it was finding people he like that was challenging. Like finding a needle in a haystack. He was a fairly friendly guy, however, he was noticeably picky when it came to choosing friends. There were certain traits they had to carry, a respect they had to show. It was ironic Angel felt this way, considering how exclusive he was when it came to giving respect. It was almost as if his respect held more value. He hardly noticed Danny approaching them and only gave him a nod of recognition when he mentioned his name; his eyes then immediately diverted back to the large crowd.

He moved to the benches, happy with the social atmosphere. As he looked for a place to sit, he spotted Gianna. Keeping his hands folded behind his back, he looked to the spot next to her, "May I?" he asked her.

James Porter
james-png.318898

James stood up straight from leaning on the dressing table and paced for a few seconds before stopping closer to Lucy and looking her in the eyes. "There's a chance I'm wrong, but I suspect Monte only cares about Monte, so it would be pointless trying to get to him through his loved ones like they did through Sinead. And it depends on if you want to get to him through violence or psychological destruction."

James decided to be bold and sat on the edge of Lucy's bed, twisting so he could face her. "Monte takes great care in his appearance - he loves his own reflection. That can be easily taken from him with violence and torture," he suggested. To those he cares about, James is kind, protective and not at all intimidating, nothing like how he is to his enemies. "If you're opposed to such methods, then we'd have to play it more strategically. As Vinnie's heir, he has to prove himself as competent and worthy of leading the Romanos. To take that from him would require making a fool out of him and causing damage between him and his father."

“…and considering your abuse of position regarding last night’s incident-“
“The order I gave resulted in a successful confiscation of dangerous goods.”
“16 officers was too many, a waste of resources. And you called several that were on patrol instead of those that were available in-station.”
“I was unaware of the circumstances. The report wasn’t clear on the details of the smuggling and I was pressed for time. It was better to send more than enough than not enough men.”
The superintendent sighed and glanced down at the papers in his hand. “Still, the ruckus you caused made the public uneasy. There’s been a damned increase of crime in the downtown and a negative backlash by the press.”

“Sir, that is why we need more officers on-duty and playing an active role in preemptive law enforcement. We need to show civilians that the CPD can keep up with these criminals, or we lose face. We lose lives.” Jon spoke earnestly; he wanted to get more cops out in the streets, both for practical and personal reasons.

“I am aware of the need for more officers, lieutenant. What you did was still out of line, commanding an excess of resources from a division you have no direct authority to lead. But despite this, I am now going to give you another chance to lead your own divisions in the way you see fit; I want to see you working actively in the streets and I want you to bring me results.”

Oh, how Jon wanted to laugh: a triumphant but joyless laugh. He could sooner shoot himself in the foot than hit a man 3 feet in front of him. “You would trust me with a gun?”

The superintendent slowly leaned forward and laced his fingers on the table in front of him. “You’re a lieutenant of the CPD. Is there any reason why I shouldn’t trust you?”

The lieutenant straightened up and squared his shoulders. “No sir,” he said seriously. He thought perhaps he should say a few more reassuring words, but decided to wait and watch for signs of dis/approval from his superiors. There was a brief and tense silence. One of the officers seated to the left of the superintendent gave a slight nod. Another officer, seated 2nd closest to where Jon was still standing, was frowning and staring pensively down at his crossed arms. Someone cleared their throat, but didn’t speak up.

Jon was patient. His mind was racing with hypotheticals: if they agreed to let him keep rank and the fieldwork was only a temporary reassignment of labor…then he had to be careful that his active duties wouldn’t compromise his position as lieutenant, both in responsibilities and confidentiality of certain CPD matters. If the push for him to do more fieldwork was a way to demote him…then he’d have to take shortcuts in his original plans against the Romanos’, before his reduced authority in the CPD diminished his public and political influences as well.

“I don’t see why his integrity should be called into question.” One of the younger officers at the table prodded at the silence. Everyone turned to look at him; he turned to address the superintendent directly. “From my observations, this is a matter of misinformation. The original issue should have been under the jurisdiction of a different department than Xin’s…wasn’t it lieutenant Garths?” The man looked over at Jon.
“Yes. But he was out.”
The superintendent also looked over at Jon. “Out, for what reason do you know?”
Jon hesitated, pretending to be reluctant. “I…heard that he’d taken the weekend off.”
There was a collective rise of small sounds, muttering and sighs. The superintendent unlaced his fingers and sat back in his chair, still watching Jon. Jon looked appropriately sheepish. Nobody at the CPD liked a rat; but the higher-ups also didn’t like slackers. He knew this would antagonize Garths if the other lieutenant found out. But if someone should bear the brunt of the blame, it was better him than Jon, Jon thought. Now, the more important problem was where he would go from here. Quite literally. It had been so long since Jon had done proper fieldwork that he wondered if he even still owned a gun. Maybe there was one in his attic. Maybe the best thing to do after this debriefing was to go home.

But when he thought of home, he thought of Maite. Jon wondered how she was doing. They hadn’t seen each other in over a week. Maybe he would pay a visit to the Fox’s Den…for a lead on the Romanos, of course.

Luca had to raise an eyebrow as the guy refused the cigar. It was rare for him to share it, so it kinda felt insulting, but it was whatever, he did and it was all in the past. "Well get your things in my car, we have a long way to get to the Sullivan household and I'm sure Emmet would like to meet you, Jim." He had to find a way to differentiate James one and New James, so for now he was gonna call him Jim until he had a better nickname for him. "Andiamo mio amico." He made the motion for him to follow, as he started to walk toward his car. Now that he though about it, maybe he should buy another one.

James smiles and follows after Luca picking up his bag and his case. " anyway thanks for picking me up mo Chara (my friend), ive been worried about getting picked up by the cops since I almost got caught in Dublin." He goes to take a away in the passenger seat of the car after putting his stuff in the back but he makes sure to,keep the guitar case with him.

Alex smirked at his comment about making it worthwhile and blushed slightly when he mentioned the view a smile playing on her lips. Alex looked up at the waitress with a smile and ordered the medium breakfast with a cup of tea. She had a little addiction to tea and drank about 4 cups on each of her shifts and that not including what shed drink at home, when she wasnt drinking alcohol.
Alex listened intently to what he said and couldnt help but laugh at his bring me home to meet the parents comment. That most certainly wasn´t going to be the case with their parents .
"Hmmm" she mused as she thought about what to say "I work in a Diner the other side of town, I love my family but we don't see eye to eye on most cases, I love going on adventures and staying out for all hours having fun, and I go to church every week" The last bit made her chuckle "not really by choice" she said with a smirk. She wasnt overly fond of going to church but her father made her go when she didn't have work.

When Gianna had lectured him about how to successfully receive a shipment, Vinnie decided to hold his tongue and not start an argument so early int he day. He would be sure to relay her advice on to the Azarolas, who were the ones had got it wrong and messed things up.

As he spoke with Danel, he was briefly distracted by Alena who was sarcastic about the family not waiting for her. "You were called downstairs for breakfast. If you can't learn how to get ready in time then you'll have to learn how to get yourself around," he replied, clearly unimpressed with his daughter's tone. She would be the death of him. Vinnie's attention was then drawn to Monte, who was typically late. He hoped his son would learn how to be punctual when it really mattered.

He let his family members go inside the church whilst he finished his conversation with Danel.

Sinead and Shannon Sullivan

shan (1).PNG

Whilst they were out of their daughter's earshot, Shannon looked to Emmet and nodded. "She did well," she quietly told her husband. She was both relieved and proud that Sinead had done exactly what was needed of her. The last thing they needed was the cops hanging around more and thinking Sinead was an easy source of knowledge to aid their ineptitude. When Emmet wandered to Sinead, Shannon decided to give the living room a quick tidy. Some of them hadn't bothered to clean up after their drinks and James hadn't put the cushions back in place after crashing out on the sofa. He'd be getting a telling off once he showed his face. No doubt he was making a mess of one of the guest bathrooms now.

Sinead visibly flinched when he father caught her by surprise. As soon as she heard his voice, she relaxed and smiled contently. "Morning, Daidí," she brightly replied. When he asked her what was on the menu, she thought for a time before turning to face him. "We've all had a rough night, so how about something to spoil ourselves? I was thinking an Irish fry-up. Bacon, eggs, sausage... the lot!" she enthused. She was getting better at hiding how devastated she felt, managing to mask it with the cheerful Sinead they expected. "What have you got planned for today?" she curiously asked Emmet. "Conor fetched some of my clothes for me, so there's no point us going to the apartment this morning."

Conor rested his forearms on the table and leaned in a little closer as he listened to Alex speak, all the while unconsciously twiddling a salt pot in his hand. "You work in a diner? I bet you're popular. I'd love to have a girl like you serve me breakfast in the morning," he flirted. When she mentioned not getting along with her family, his face turned more serious. He had a good idea of what it was like for her living in Vinnie's household, and Conor was thankful his parents were different. "I'm biased, but I can't imagine it's easy to get along with your father..." He could have said more, but he tried to hold back on his thoughts regarding Vinnie. "I love an adventure too... But church?!" he asked and playfully laughed. Thankfully his Catholic mother had never forced church on him, as Shannon had always resented her own strict parents for it. "I can see why some people would make an effort of attending church so frequently. Some of them have a lot of actions to be forgiven for." Conor was clearly referring to Vinnie.

Alex laughed "yeah I'm a favourite for a few, although its more of a counselling service than a food service " she said it as a joke but it was slightly the truth, Alex did listen to a lot of her customers problems as she served them, in saying that she did love her job. "Feel free to pop into Moe's diner anytime, you might be lucky enough to be served by me" she teased with a wink. She nodded at her comment about her father "ah he's okay just quite strict and I'm rebellious " she said rebellious while making quotation marks with her fingers "so it leads to arguments" she shrugged, a smirk playing on her lips. She could have went into how she didnt agree with her families buisness but she decided that was not the best idea, especially after what happened last night, she also wanted to know if Sinead was okay but again she knew that was the worst thing she could bring up so she pushed it to the back of her mind.
"Yeah church isn't my choice, we're all made go weekly, got to keep up appearances and yeah forgiveness is probably a big part" she said with a smirk knowing they were both referring to her father.
She went to speak again when she was interrupted by the waitress bringing over their food. "Thank you, it looks amazing" she said before the waitress walked off. She poured the tea into the cup and added some milk before looking back at Conor "So whats it like managing a pub, I say it can get messy with drunk people involved?"

"I'll be sure to give Moe's Diner a try," Conor told Alex. "Just let me know which shifts you're working and I'll let you be my counsellor, too." He couldn't help but grin as she said she was rebellious. "Oh, I don't doubt that. You came out here to meet me, didn't you? I just hope your father doesn't know where you are right now, else I'm sure you'll be having another argument," he noted. Conor also thanked the waitress when their food was brought out and he began pouring his coffee then adding milk and sugar. He looked pretty damn happy to see his large plate of food and he that's because he was.

When Alex asked her question about managing a pub, Conor had a quick sip of coffee before answering her. "Managing a pub is great, especially the Emerald. I'm lucky to have a great bunch of regulars and good staff. I'm pretty relaxed about it all, if I'm honest. I'm lucky enough to have such trustworthy staff who can look after the place whilst I get drunk," he said, half-joking. "I don't give it time to get messy. If anyone causes trouble in my pub then they soon find themselves out on the street. And those who are too drunk but not causing trouble, we make sure they leave the place in one piece."

As Conor began eating some of his food, the silence caused his mind to focus back on more serious matters and he looked back to Alex. "I know we've only just started talking, but we shouldn't ignore the elephant in the room. I'm not sure how much you know about your father's business, but I know enough about both of our families' businesses. Regardless of your father's recent actions, I want you to know that I will never do anything to harm you," he assured her, still thinking of what Vinnie had done to Sinead. "The war between our families is going to get more intense in the coming days, but you can trust me. As can your younger sister."

neverbackdown neverbackdown

Alex smiled at his comment "I will make sure to let you know". She shook her head slightly a smirk taking over her features "ah no I'm in work as far as he's concerned, but technically I am currently in a diner so its not a complete lie in a sense" she laughed at her way of bending the truth. Alex smiled and nodded as he told her about the bar and how it was easy enough to manage, she took a sip of her tea and started eating, the silence she found wasn't uncomfortable but she had the thoughts of last night on her mind and was grateful that Conor did bring it up. She looked him in the eye as he spoke and nodded to what he said "Im not involved in the family business nor do I want to be but when I believe something big has happened I usually find out , mostly through demanding the answer so yes I know what happened last night well at least a bit off it" she held a wry smile on her face as she spoke, the idea had been nagging at her since she found out last night and so she blurted it out before thinking "Is Sinead okay? Well as okay as she can be? Im sorry I know it probably isnt my place to ask but I do feel it was too personal and way too far involving her into this crap and Im rambling so" she held a little embarrassed smile as she stopped talking and looked down at her food. She was furious at her father for bringing Sinead into all of this, it was like bringing Alena or herself into the situation and she felt rather sick by the idea. This anger showed on her face as she pushed her food around her plate trying to control her facial expressions. When Conor spoke again she looked up and saw the sincerity in his eyes, she gave a soft smile as she spoke "Thank you, I know our families are at war and noone is safe now but I do genuiely think your a nice guy and I like being around you, so it does mean something that I can trust you"

Luca had already started the engine to the car when James had placed the luggage on the back. Once James had gotten inside the car, he started to drive to the Sullivan household. "Look I'm going to be Frank with you, if Boss offers you a drink, than I'm sure you know to take it, not reject it." He knew that he was being mean about it but he had to tell him. "If you ever need any help on something, as the right hand of Emmett Sullivan, I want you to come to me and speak what's wrong." He always took care of any sullivan member, even lower ranking members. "Honestly we were gonna send our James to come pick you up, but since he couldn't be found and I had nothing to do besides going to the pub and try to get drunk."

Maite

She was sitting in the bar, simply drinking a beer by herself. Jona had thrown a fit at the sight of the kitchen and quickly began cleaning, forcing Martzel and Lloyd upstairs. Maite, on the other hand, was changed and feeling better. On closer inspection, it was just a flesh wound but she still didn’t feel comfortable going outside. She was still a little shaken up after last night.

“Emmet fucking Sullivan happened. He showed up as we were moving the shipment, and he had a goon out in the dark. Shot at us and missed me but hit Maite.” He dropped the cigarette onto the sidewalk and dug his boot into it. “And then there were cops. It was just a mess. It definitely won’t happen again, Romano…” He spoke cooly, no threat in his voice but still that withdraw from warmth. Turning heel, he walked towards the large wooden doors as the bells rang overhead. “Good Sunday to you, Vincenzo.”

Lucy bit her lip lightly and looked back into his eyes as he spoke. Not trying to be necessarily flirtatious...more....anxious as she thought about what they could possibly do in order to make Monte wiggle like a worm. He thought that he could mess with her sister, she wasn't so sure that Monte had anything to do with it directly, but he was still apart of that family. He always left a bad taste in her mouth. Something about him had rubbed her the wrong way. Appearances....Her eyes glanced towards the vanity in the guest bedroom and she thought of the bathroom at her flat...."I think I have an idea...I can ruin him..." Looking towards James again, there was a certain twinkle in her blue/green eyes. "But I wouldn't oppose torture, if that's how far you are willing to go for me." She winked and flashed him a warm smile before placing her hand on his. "Thank you James, I really am grateful for what you are doing."

When Alex explained how she'd bent the truth, Conor couldn't help but chuckle. "You know, I'm not so sure I should be getting to know someone like you - I think you're a bad influence, Alex. You're going to corrupt me," he joked.

Conor looked down to his hands for a short time as Alex brought up Sinead. He needed to make sure he kept his anger to a minimum as it wasn't intended for innocent people, such as Alex. "No, you can ask. It was too personal, which is why I wanted to make sure you know that however I choose to retaliate against your father, I will not use you to do it." He then remembered Alex's actual question. "Sinead is shaken up. She's never been exposed to anything like what she saw and it's really upsetting for her. They attacked her place of work and wrecked her home, all to get to me." He could see Alex was angry at her father's actions too, which made him all the more relieved at trusting her today. "My family aren't innocent, either, but... I guess I gave your father and his gang more credit than they deserved. I didn't think even he would stoop so low. I know Vinnie is your father and I shouldn't be speaking this way to you, but he's crossed a line that was barely there to begin with."

Conor softened his features and smiled fondly to Alex. "I'm glad you trust me, Alex. I think you're a pretty swell girl and I'd quite like to know you more," he sweetly told her. Conor was good at switching on the charm to draw in an attractive woman, but he didn't have to exaggerate anything with Alex. There was something about her that he found genuinely appealing.

Alex noted that he was staring at his hands clearly trying to restrain his anger, she was relieved when he started talking realising she had not gone too far by asking him about Sinead. "Her home?" Alex muttered quietly shock evident in her voice, that must have been what Monte and Angel had been talking to dad about last night. She shook her head in dissapointment at her family, it was one thing to leave a body another for them to wreck her place of living. Alex never thought her father could go that far, she was disgusted at it. She nodded at his comment about their families a stretched smile present on her lips "I never thought he'd go that far, its basically saying no-ones of limits" she spoke quietly "I trust you but what my father did basically just invited me and Alena onto the playing field without our consent" taking a deep breathe she continued "He might be my father and I love him but he did more than crossed a line he broke it and burned it" She tried to keep the anger out of her voice but it was near impossible. She took a drink of her tea trying to calm herself down before she started crying in rage.
Alex looked up as Conor spoke more softly a smile playing on her lips, she wasnt going to lie, Alex was falling for Conor, she liked how he was around her and how he made her feel. "I want to get to know you too" she said gently

A surprised look appeared on Vinnie's face upon hearing Emmet Sullivan had shown up. "Emmet Sullivan?" he repeated, a twisted smirk appearing on his face. As he realised Danel had mentioned Maite had been shot at, the smile faded. "Is she okay?" he asked, but was glad to hear she would be. "No, it won't happen again. We'll find a new location to use," he replied, now seeming distant as he began thinking of his next plan of action. "Have a nice day, Danel," he simply replied. The cops were nothing new, but it was very interesting to know Emmet had put himself out on the field. Whether the Irishman was getting desperate or not was irrelevant - Vinnie was taking it at his signal to take his next turn.

Vinnie signalled for Fortuna to follow him inside the church. When he saw Angel next to Gianna, Vinnie sat at the man's other side, expecting Fortuna to join them. "The three of us need to talk after we're done in here," he told Angel and Fortuna. "Emmet Sullivan has began to retaliate and we need to decide what to do next." Vinnie wanted to up their game and deliver a more severe blow than they already had, but he would need to figure a way to do so without involving Sinead again. As effective as it would be, He'd never hear the end of it from the Romano women if he did anything worse to the Sullivan's youngest girl.

"Tell me what you want me to do to Monte and I'll tell you if I'm on board," James told Bella. There were a lot of things he was willing to do and friends who would help him, but it was ultimately Lucy's choice. Although she said she wouldn't oppose torture, he still wanted her to say herself what she wanted rather than him come out with any ideas himself that may repulse her. He respected her too much to scare her off.

After she had winked at him, James looked down to Lucy's hand as she touched his. He smiled to himself before looking her back in the eyes. "You don't need to thank me. The Romanos need to be taught a few lessons after what they've done. And... you know I'm always willing to help you out, Lucy." It was hard to keep level-headed being so close to someone as attractive as Lucy. With every minute that passed, it became more difficult for James to keep things professional. It didn't help that she was so enticingly difficult to read. "You've got me wrapped around your little finger, Lucy. You'll send me crazy letting me sit in here with you, whilst you're looking so good."

Conor hated Vinnie, but he still felt a little guilty for speaking of him in such a way to Alex and hoped it wouldn't come across as him trying to turn her against her father. In theory, that would be a good plan - to create rifts within the Romano family, but Alex didn't deserve to be manipulated in such a way. He certainly wouldn't do so, even if the other Sullivans might. "Your father is an asshole and I'll never change my mind about that. However, I don't think he intentionally meant to hurt you and Alena. I'm sure he loves you both. When a man has so much power, he becomes too focused on maintaining it and gets too carried away to think emotionally," he reasoned. He wasn't sure Vinnie even had emotions, but Alex did and she needed reassuring. Then she started to cry and definitely needed reassuring. Conor leaned further forward and outstretched his arm so he could gently rub the top of her shoulder. It didn't even enter his mind to think if it seemed too forward as he was a tactile person who didn't like to see a woman upset. "Hey, it's okay. We don't need to keep talking about this. Just have it out with your father when you're next with him," he suggested.

To try and lighten the mood, a playful grin crossed Conor's face as he removed his hand from her shoulder. "If anyone is watching, they're going to think we're either on the shittiest date ever or we just broke up with each other," he remarked. "I don't know if this is a date, but I'd like to think it's not been too horrendous for you," he added. He hoped they'd have more "dates" as he wanted to learn and see so much more of Alex.

Alena was shocked at her father's choice of words, but she didn't want to say anything back to him so she held her head up high and tried to carry on by following him and taking a seat near her father. Alena cleared her voice as Mass was beginning, she looked around and when her head turned to the side she saw Giovanni. Alena turned her head forward, it's been a while to her since she has talked to him but she doesn't want to say anything. Alena has heard the guards at her house talking about how Giovanni has been with other girls and that supposedly he ran a prostitution, and other things. Alena doesn't want to start assuming anything so she just stays quiet and watches on the sidelines. Don't Alena, she thought to herself before she thought of anything else. Today was Sunday and she didn't want to think of anything bad, given the fact that she is in the church. Alena wanted to plan her father's birthday party for this week since she said that she would take the responsibility in doing so.

Alena did begin thinking about how she wanted to run away. Alena picked up the Bible to follow along with the pastor and honestly she wants her father to be proud of her and not judge her, but she feels as if everything she does, he judges her. Alena looked to the side at her father before looking forward and focusing on the preach. Alena felt overwhelmed because of her problems both socially and with her family. She has a brother who she thinks hates her, and a father who has expectations that Alena feels as if she will never meet. Maybe she should just run away, of course maybe nobody will miss her. All of these negative thoughts began to swarm into her head and her past began to uncover and the horrors that followed with them so she had slight tears running down her cheeks, but quickly wiped them away. Alena excused herself and set the Bible that she was holding down on the bench and headed outside.

When she got there she didn't want anyone to see her crying so she walked around the church and went to the back of the church. Alena took in deep breaths and she literally hated herself for crying, she couldn't understand why she was crying but she was.

Lucy laughed softly and looked down at the ground, her cheeks turning pink as he showered her with compliments. She kept her lip between her teeth as she leaned in just a bit closer to him. Wondering how much trouble she could possibly get into with James by her side. Surely her father would never ever approve of such a thing, Lucy couldn't ever be involved in the family business. Her eyes looked James up and down for a moment and a small smile formed on her lips. "Oh but I love you wrapped around my little finger." She said warmly before standing and walking towards the little liquor cabinet that was kept in almost every room in the house. "And don't think I haven't noticed how good you look." Lucy added as she grabbed a small glass from the cabinet and poured herself a glass of alcohol.

"Drink?" She asked as she grabbed another small glass a poured the dark liquor into it. "I do have a few ideas of how to ruin Monte's appearances...but it will definitely take a lot of planning...." Taking a sip from her glass, she moved back towards the bed and took a seat beside him, holding the other full glass in her hand. "It has to work flawlessly..."

Emmet Sullivan
Emmet smiled when Sinead looked at him, and drew back moments later.
"I'm always happy to have some food to remind me of home." Emmet wasted no time unslinging his gun from his hip, sliding the clip out and setting the colt on the table, the clip next to it. Following that motion, he rolled up his clean white sleeves.
"I have no plans. I'll have to wait for everyone to reassemble to work on the next plan of attack." The Sullivan boss looked sideways at his daughter, a worried tone tinging his masculine voice. "I'll keep you safe, so will the rest of us. They made a grave mistake picking on you."
Turning away, he grabbed some pans from one of the cupboards, offering it to Sinead.
"I hope Conor picked up the best of what was left." Knowing his son, he had done the best for his sister that he could, and it warmed the man's heart to see his family pull together for Sinead. "I could help you cook, or I could take you into the city and we could go get you some new clothes. Whatever you want and need. I'll make sure no one bothers us."
Turning back away, Emmet frowned, looking for a phantom cup of coffee he hadn't bothered making. While he was kind to his daughter, and in a fairly good mood this morning, the events of the previous evening were still on his mind.
Though his primary concern was taking care of his daughter, Emmet also worried about what counter-attack Vincenzo had in store, trying to think as his enemy would, so as to foil the Italian's plans.

That is the first thing they teach bomb makers, don't smoke, you tend to go up in smoke that way." He then smiles and shift the case again as he told him to ask for help if needed. "Well thanks for that, I'm happy to work for you guys, if you ever need something to go up in flames call me I was trainned for it by the best after all." James laughs his ass off at the mans final comment. "Well there is another james then, and going to the pub and getting waisted is part of life. We need to live it up while we can after all."

The windows of the Fox’s Den were still dark. Jon passed by the bar once, twice, and then the third time he slowly peered through the glass of the front door. He’d forgotten that today was a Sunday. Since it was still mid-morning, the bar wouldn’t be open. Jon was in his office so often, he often lost track of what days people were actually supposed to be at work. Just as he turned to leave, he noticed the silhouette of someone sitting at the counter.

“I thought it wasn’t open…” Jon cupped his hands against the door to take a closer look. “…oh!” It was Maite. It didn’t seem like she wanted company if she was sitting alone. But Jon had already walked all the way across the city to the Fox’s Den so perhaps he could have a glass of water before he left. And perhaps the bar would open soon so he really wasn’t being a bother. And…and...anyways, he was already here.

Jon knocked on the door and took a step back to wait.

Sinead watched her father as he removed the gun from his hip and placed in on the table. She took in a deep breath as she thought about how on edge people around her were, so much that Emmet was armed in his own home and so early in the day. She wished she was stronger for them, so they would have one less person to worry about. As he mentioned needing to plan their next attack, she quietly nodded her head. At mention of the mistake the Romanos made in targeting her, Sinead gave a reassuring smile. "I know you'll look after me and they'll never be able to break this family. We are strengthened by love and compassion. No matter what happens, we must never forget compassion - it's what keeps us grounded," she noted, almost warning. The last thing she wanted was for things to get so intense that another innocent party could he harmed in the crossfire. She couldn't live with herself if someone was killed in her name.

Sinead took the pan from Emmet and smiled as he mentioned Conor. "Oh, he did a wonderful job. Who knew he had such an eye for fashion?" she remarked. When her father then gave her the choice of cooking breakfast or going shopping, her eyes opened wide. Before saying a word, she handed the pan back to him so he could put it away again. Before she even spoke it was clear what she had chosen. "Oh my word! That's a no-brainer. We are going shopping, Daidi!" she excitedly told him. "I can find a new dress to wear tonight. You, mum, Luce, whoever else... you can all come to the Whistler tonight and I will wear it," she said. The fact she'd had nothing pleasant to think about since yesterday meant her excitement was amplified. She gave her father a kiss on the cheek before walking out of the room. "Give me a few minutes. I need to get my bag and put some shoes on," she called to him as she headed upstairs.

Once she had returned downstairs with everything she needed, Sinead would wait patiently for Emmet to finish with anything he needed to do first.

"Oh, I'd love to be more than wrapped around your little finger," James casually remarked, gazing at her figure as she walked to the alcohol cabinet. "Two people with a mutual attraction shouldn't have to keep their desires locked away," he observed. The problem was, they were both just as cool and stubborn as each other that neither seemed about to be the first to make any kind of move. The lack of impulsive action from either of them made the atmosphere all the more interesting to James. It made Lucy even more desirable.

"Yes, please," he said, accepting her offer of a drink. He swallowed some of the liquor as he listened to Lucy speak. "It's a shame you and your father aren't working together, Lucy. You've clearly got the brains for this and Emmet could benefit from letting you work with him. Conor isn't stupid and he's good at what he does, but he is impulsive. You're the patient one," he told her. "What are you proposing we do about Monte?"

Vincenzo Romano

giphy-gif.318828

Throughout the church service, Vinnie's mind was elsewhere, but the way his eyes were fixed on the Bible suggested he was fully engrossed in the priest's words. Contrary to what his family believed, he wasn't as enthusiastic about religion as he made out. It was a necessity to keep up his public appearance and gain some sort of redemption for the things he had to do to keep his family in power. It hadn't escaped his attention that Alena had left during the service looking quite upset and he would address the matter.

Once the service was done, everyone could finally leave the church. Vinnie walked with Fortuna and Angel, not speaking about business until they were outside of the religious building. The family and his his closest gang members had already been invited to the Romano home for dinner that evening, so he didn't need to remind the two of that. "We need to continue to break up the Sullivan family and start attacking their businesses like they've been doing to ours. I've decided it's time to remove Conor from his duties - when we next speak, we can decided on the best way to put him out of action and make sure he stays behind bars this time. The Emerald is an obvious target, to attack both a Sullivan business and provoke Conor." Vinnie then looked directly to Angel. "I need you to head into the city and see Peter Smithson in his clothes store. He has an important package for me and he's expecting you to pick it up to bring to me. Make sure you don't lose it," he instructed the man.

Vinnie then broke away from the others and walked around the exterior of the church, looking to see if Alena was around. When he saw his daughter crying at the back of the building, he let out a deep sigh. He forgot about business for a time as he approached her, his facial features had softened. "Alena?" he asked her, keeping a couple of feet distance between them in case she was rejecting his presence. He had a good idea what was wrong, but he wanted her to say it, even if she would do so with anger. "Tell me what's wrong. I know I've upset you, so spill. Tell me everything I've done that has you upset - nothing good will come of keeping it bottled up. In fact, I'm pleading with you to tell me the truth. Hardly anyone ever tells me what they're really thinking about my actions and it's more frustrating than you realise."
