Ren smiled and lightly touched her face, "Judging from your voice... and touch... you seem quite young..."


He sat back into his seat and grabbed his tea, "Its not always whats on the outside that defines beauty. You seem quite charming" he said casually


Ren adjusted in his chair to get a bit more comfortable, "I guess I moved to have a new start. The last town I was in was pretty drab" he said chuckling at the memory

Ash blushes, mumbling that she wasn't pretty under her breath. "you happy with your new home?" She wanted to ask how old he was but didn't want to be rude.

Alister fell asleep with Aubrey in his arms. when he woke up he just sat there with her for what seemed like forever

Ren smiled sadly, "It's a nice home and quite roomy but, it gets lonely from time to time." He rubbed the back of his neck and resumed his normal smile, "22 years old and here I am stuck at home. You'd think it gets boring but I have music to keep my company."


He took his cane and rested it on his lap, "Where do you live?" he asked

"two houses down." Ash sets her tea on her lap, for some reason it was fascinating talking to Ren. "I live with my younger step sister and step brother. Got to take care of the only family I have."

Ren clasped his hands and smiled


"It must be very though of you to take care of them" he said genuinely impressed. He was getting fascinated with the girl and it seemed like they would meet each other often.

She shrugs, "they can mostly take care of themselves I watched them for 10 years. I am mostly just here to support them now." Ash pauses afraid to ask her next question. "do you have any family,"

"My mother and father passed away a couple of years ago" he entwined his hands, "Luckily I had some kind people help me along the way"


Ren tapped his finger on his chair. He did this whenever he thought back to a memory. He knew this information would bring the mood down so he had to quickly change the subject.


"Anyways! You're going to be the new art teacher huh? Hows that going to be?"

Ash knew the feeling of having no parents and she didn't want to dwell on the past so she answered his question. "its going to be bad, I am not the greatest artist in the world." Ash said adding a lightness to her voice

Ren softly touched his eyes, "Im sure they're beautiful..." Due to his blindness Ren could never actually see art. Deep inside he hoped that one day his blindness would be cured.


"One day, If I could see again, could you show me your art?" he asked kindly

Ren fumbled around for a violin until he found one.


"Why don't I show you one now?" he said playing a soft melody. Performing was one of his few joys in life.


Once he had finished playing his small piece, he placed his instrument down and sat back down.


"What do you think?" he asked

He touched the window and it felt a little cold, "I'm sorry it has gotten quite late... I must have taken so much of your time" he said apologetically


"However, I really did enjoy our time together." he said blushing a little. He had just hoped that she would not notice

"Actually I just order food every day. Its a bit difficult to cook for myself." he admitted.


"Maybe I'll order a pizza or something"

He scratched his head remembering he had nothing in his pantry.


"I don't have much food though"

"Why dont we go together?" he asked, "Ive been cooped up in this house all day, I could use a bit of fresh air"


He cracked his neck and stretched his arms


"Im sure anything you cook will be delicious. Shall we head off?"
