I listen to you closely and I just nod not knowing what you’re saying. I put one of my hands on the handle of the cart and I just continue looking around the store like I’ve never seen it before. I see you pull out a list and I peek over your shoulder looking at it. “So we just walk around and find all of these things?”

 

[SnowAshe]

Snow chuckled and said “Pretty much. It’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it. I’ve been grocery shopping since I was a kid.”

“I think I’ve been grocery shopping once. The kitchen was always just usually stocked and if I wanted something I’d write it down.” I tell you with a shrug and I begin walking around with you to find the items we needed. When we’d find an item I’d point at it and call it out to you with a smile. Everyone around me was looking at me like I was crazy and I’d grab the item for you.

(That sounds fun.)

Snow smiled and said “Must’ve been nice. I tell you what though. There’s nothing like being able to go get whatever you need on your own.” As they walked around Snow recognized several of the people there and when they gave him quizzical looks he just smiled and took her hand gently in his and they nodded with a smile and before long pretty much everyone there understood what was going on. That was the great thing about Newberry. The median age was around 30 and most of the people there were young enough to where they didn’t really judge, they were just curious.

I continue going around with one hand in yours and I’d only occasionally pull away to grab something that I had to struggle to reach. It actually seemed pretty fun and I wouldn’t mind doing this with you more often. Once we were done I looked at the stuff. “So now we pay right?”

 

[SnowAshe]

Snow nodded and said “And now we pay.” He started ringing stuff up and bagging them as she watched. They had managed to find a few of the things that she had wanted to get as well and he paid for those as well.

As you rung up the ideas I watched you and it was weird how something that everyone seemed to do could be so interesting to me but I’ve never done it before. When you paid I looked at you. “Aren’t I suppose to be using my money to pay for things? I thought I was suppose to be learning how to budget.”

 

[SnowAshe]

Snow shook his head and said “Not this time. Your money needs to last. I have been saving up for this for the past several years and I have plenty of money right now. Don’t worry though. I’m going to show you how to budget and manage your finances soon.”

 

[KingsleyAdams2000]

“So can I use my money to buy some makeup products and facial products?” I asked after you paid and everything was in our cart bagged up ready to go to the car. “And maybe we go get some ice cream tonight and I’ll buy for us.”

 

[SnowAshe]

Snow nodded and said “Just watch what you spend. You want to try to stay below the $100 mark.” Once they got out to the truck they loaded everything up and got in. He took her to a store that had what she needed and walked with her inside.

I nod at your words and I would try my best to keep myself on a budget because I didn’t want to disappoint you by spending too much money. I helped you load everything into the truck and I was excited to do some shopping for myself now. Once we arrived at the store I was excited and I walked in with you holding your hand. I grabbed a little basket and I began picking out things. I grabbed makeup that I wanted and skin care products putting them into the basket not even checking prices because it’s a bad habit of mine. I grabbed a curling iron and it says it’s 50 dollars. I put it in my basket without concern and I continue going around.

Snow was keeping an eye on her though and stopped her when she reached $150. He knew that he hadn’t been there she could’ve easily spent a thousand dollars

When you stopped me I hadn’t realized how much I had spent and I thought I had hit the 100 dollar mark when you stopped me. “I think I got everything I need.” I give you a smile and I walk towards the check out line. I had gotten a bunch of things and most of it was probably things I didn’t need right away.

 

[SnowAshe]

Snow helped her check out and then carried some of the stuff out to his truck. They got back in and he turned the radio back on as they drove home. He looked at her holding his hand again and asked “So did you have fun today?”

Once we checked out I realize I went over budge my 50 dollars and I felt bad now because I wasn’t doing budgeting right. I followed you back to the truck and I got into the car with you. I instantly grabbed your hand and I enjoyed having your hand back in mine. “Yes I did have fun with you but I’m sorry for not budgeting right and I will try my best next time.”

 

[SnowAshe]

“You’re okay. I know you’ll try better next time. Everyone has those days where they just want to spend. But we should have everything we’ll need for a while.” Snow said as they turn down their driveway

I smile it made me it feel good knowing you weren’t mad at me for spending too much money. “I’m glad we got everything we need and I’m happy with the things I got for me. Now I’m excited for our little movie date whenever that is.” Once we got into the driveway I got out of the car and I help you take things inside.

 

[SnowAshe]

Snow smiled and said “It’ll be soon don’t worry. Tomorrow we’ll start on your next adventure. “

 

[KingsleyAdams2000]

“What is my next adventure?” I asked after we took things inside and I begin unpacking it but not knowing where it was going. I would let you put things wherever you thought they should go.

 

[SnowAshe]

Snow put everything up and showed her where everything went before he answered. “Your next adventure is starting at a job. I’ll take you up to the library tomorrow and we’ll take to the manager up there.”

I was taken off guard when you mentioned starting at a job so soon and I just nibble on my bottom lip. “Can’t we wait a little bit before I start a job? I just want to get more comfortable living with you in general and maybe I should get a card right?” I was just so nervous and I didn’t know if I was good enough for a job yet.

 

[SnowAshe]

Snow thought about it for a moment and said “Yeah you’re right. We should definitely go set you up an account at the bank tomorrow and then we’ll wait a few more days after that till they mail the card to you. I start back to work in a couple days as well.”

“Can I put my money I have in cash in the bank account?” I asked as I begin looking through the stuff I got today and I was happy to have some items I was comfortable with. Of course I couldn’t buy every expensive item I was use to but I did get a few things that were on the pricey side.

Snow nodded and said “Yeah. We’ll set you up a savings account as well so you can set money aside for the future.”

I pull out a lipstick that I got from the store and it’s a dark red color. I begin applying some of it to my lips and I pucker my lips at you. “What do you think? Do you like this color on me?” I asked after putting the cap on it and I grab my phone to look at it myself.
