Fandom The Last Airbender

Zuko was thrown aback by her comment. Did she seriously suggest for him to marry someone? Not that this was a bad thing, he just didn't expect words like that to come out of Katara's mouth. "Maybe you're right..." He added on, though seriously doubting the possibilities of him finding someone who wants to be with him.

Still, the water tribe girl made a very clear point. It was just him and his servants who resided here. He was alone when he was here, he basically had no one to actually talk to with out the other person reacting as if Zuko was superior to them. Someone who knew him as a friend not as the rule over the Fire Nation, someone who's fun loving but knows how to be serious, somebody like that is what he needed. Now to mention it, Katara did fit the profile, but he knew that was a loss cause. Sure, he liked her as a friend and honestly, more than that, but even so, there would be no way she would ever want that.

"Sure~" The maroon-red haired girl answered, "Where would you like to walk to?" Okay, so maybe a walk wasn't all that entertaining, but seeing how he was new around her, she figured she might be able to show him around a bit. He was water tribe, so it was most likely he hadn't really been sightseeing around here. "I know a street with some shops and cafes." Izumi suggested, it was a nice street but had the most strangest shops...and they all sold some strange things. But the cafe's there were pretty good.

Katara nods and smiles. "Zuzu is lonely." She teases, turning around and sitting on the balcony wall. If she was going to be honest to herself, she much preferred to look at Zuko than the scenery. The waterbender keeps a tight hold on the railing, not really having a desire to fall to her death.

Zuko rolled his eyes at her teasing but smiled a little. He watched as Katara got on the railing, his immediate instinct was to tell her to get down, it was way too dangerous...not to mention really far up. If she were to fall, that would be the end. Zuko resisted the urge to tell her, knowing it wouldn't do any good. "C'mon, I'll show around some more." He suggested knowing this might be the only way to get her down.

"Okay." She says, hopping down, completely oblivious to his protective urges. "Oh, I meant to ask you: how's your chest? I haven't checked on it since last time I saw you." Suddenly, the look in her eyes is worried and motherly, instead of playful.

"Eh...? There should be a fruit stand in the market place... But as far as tea shops go...what exactly are you looking for...? My sister and I have a tea shop in Omashu so I always have some sort of tea plants on me..." The girl responded, she smiled. Giri smiled back, having found someone nice to help him. Finally, someone who he felt comfortable with in this city.

"Fruit in Market place, okay... Ah, that's great! The doctor basically said any sort of calming tea would do. I mean, if I'm not bothering you. I can pay you whatever you'll like, the teas for my mother after all. She's been sick from overworking," Girir said, smiling again. He studied the girl, she looked nice and friendly. "Oh, I'm Giri, by the way, Giri Khan. Sorry, I should have introduced myself sooner," he said, smiling.

"I know a street with some shops and cafés," Izumi had suggested about their walk. Sokka thought for a moment, he didn't really get out much. He figured it would be okay.

"Sure, I'm up for anything. Meat maybe? I'll pay if you want," he said, smiling. But, gosh was he hungry. Food sounded brilliant. He shook his head, snapping himself out of his thoughts. He was getting off topic. He stretched slightly, waiting for Izumi's reply.

Azula awoke from her sleep, feeling the hard rough chains around her wrist. She had been living in her cell for quite a while ever since Zuko became fire lord. "So Zuzu is just gonna let me rot in here in chains?" She said feeling hungry. She tried to force the chains off her hands, struggling to get them off. She heard her stomach growl as she was determined to escape her cell. Azula stopped when she heard a very familiar voice in the room. In front of her she could see her mother looking down to Azula's face which made her feel humiliated. "Why are you here? Did you come just to watch the monster rot in her cell?" Azula yelled forcing herself forward so she could stand face to face with her mother who she thought was there. A few tears of anger ran down Azula's face as she was pulled back by the chains.

Getting her off the railing was a success! Phew, that had him a bit worried.

Honestly, he hadn't thought much of his chest recently. It occasionally hurt but it didn't bother him as much as it use to. "It's okay, I suppose." He answered, "Would you like to check on it?" Instantly he regretted that, it had came out wrong...really wrong. "Uh, I mean...if you think it needs to be checked...?" No, that's still not what he meant!

"Meat sounds good to me." Izumi answered with a smile, "I couldn't ask you to pay for it. You're the guest in my country, I'll pay." She answered. The girl fully didn't understand why she had just said that. He offered to pay, she should have took him up on the offer. Oh well, it was too late to turn back now. "Come on, let's get going!" She said before taking his hand, with out even thinking about it, and semi walking fast out of the palace.

@LuckyMisfortune

Katara smiles at his awkwardness. "Yeah, I probably should. Just in case, you know?" She says. "Oh, I don't have any water though."

"Meat sounds good to me," Izumi said, smiling nicely. "I couldn't ask you to pay for it. You're the guest in my country, I'll pay," she added.

Sokka smiled, liking this girl already. "Aw, you sure? I can still pay if you want, but since you want to pay that bad, I guess?"

Izumi then continued, "Come on, let's get going!" The girl, stronger than she seemed, began to drag him out of the palace. He blushed slightly, she was holding his hand. God, when was the last time he held a friend-that's-a-girl's hand. Well, not since he and Suki broke up. They seemed perfect for each other, but Suki really just wanted to be free at the moment. She was having fun with her friends and all. Sokka just couldn't keep up...

"Oh...uh, I could go get you some. Just a bottle full or...what?" He asked trying to make up for the awkward statements he had said before. Yeah, he wasn't that good with girls.

"Of course, I'm sure!" She replied. God, she really is getting herself into trouble. Izumi was well aware he was offering, but still, she felt the need to pay instead.

After taking the boy's hand and exiting the palace, Izumi strolled next to him while walking down street which held the many shops and cafe "There~" She pointed to one of them, "This place has some really good meat." Izumi said before dragging him inside.

@LuckyMisfortune

Katara smiles. "Yeah, that's fine." She plays with her necklace while she waits for the water.

Ryuu strolls up to the flower shop, smiling nervously. He knocks on the door.

@Lethal Multi\-Chara @Apollogy8

Izumi suddenly pointed to one of the shops she pulled him into. "This place has some really good meat," she said as she dragged him inside.

"Yup! Sounds good, Izumi," he said, smiling as the smell of cooking. He licked his lips, looking at the place. It was well decorated, red as usual, and had a small grill where one could cook the meet of their choosing at each table. He looked closer, realizing they were particular meant for fire benders. Sokka figured Izumi could bend. A hostess led them to a table. "So, Izumi, what do you suggest eating?" He asked, curiously as he sat down.

"Nice to meet you Giri... I'm Ketsueki Hasu but you can just call me Tsu... I'm sorry to hear about your mom by the way..."

She smiled softly tilting her head to the side. Remembering about the tea she made a soft noise, bouncing slightly. She began patting her sides a bit and after a moment finally found what she was looking for. Reaching beneath her jacket she pulled out a small blue leather case. She kept her tea and herbs in it when traveling. Opening the case she pondered the compartments for a moment. After a while she seemed pleased and reaching into one of the compartments pulled out a large white paper square. Dipping her fingers into a compartment on the case she came up with a nice clump of pale tea leaves. Putting them in the paper she quickly folded it into a packet which she held out to him.

"Here... This is moondrop tea... It should be just the thing to help..."

Mai was mildly surprised by the sound of a knock on the shops door. She had been practicing with her knives in her room. She had been relaxing earlier and had taken her hair down, so she didn't really have the time to put it back up if she was going to answer the door. Walking over to the wooden target she had set up near the balcony door she pulled her knives out, tucking them away inside her sleeves once again. As she headed down the stairs she was quickly working to but her buns back in. She had barely managed to pin the second on up before she opened the door. Staring at Ryuu for a moment she simply sighed.

"Wow... You were serious..."

@giraffesarebetter

Zuko left the room to find a bottle of which he could fill with water. "Is there something you need?" Asked on of the servants. "Uh yeah, I need a bottle full of water." "I'll go get it." Within seconds, the servant returned with a filled bottle of water and handed to the Fire Lord. "Thanks." Zuko said before leaving and returning back to Katara. "I've got the water that you requested."

@giraffesarebetter

__

"Well...." She pondered, looking over the menu. "That's a hard choice seeing how everything here is brilliant~" She answered, "So, I'll just order for you. It'll be a surprise." Izumi smirked. She knew the best things on the menu and would have told him, but she would rather it be a surprise. Not before long, a waitress asked what they wanted, "I'll have the usual. And he'll have what I'm having." Izumi ordered before giving the water tribe male any time to respond.

It wasn't much longer before the meal was brought out. The waitress came out, serving a plate to both Sokka and Izumi. The meat on the plate not only looked good, but smelled great as well. Not to mention it would taste delicious. "So, how do you like it?" Izumi asked.

@LuckyMisfortune

Zuko's face now had a small light dusting of pink on it after hearing his friend's words. "Uh...um, alright." He answers. The golden eyed teen soon had his shirt off, though it still didn't make is situation any less awkward.

@giraffesarebetter

Katara's face is bright red, and she wonders why this is so awkward. The water wraps around her hand, glowing blue as she places it to the nasty scar in the center of Zuko's chest from his sister's lightning. Seeing the wound again brings back awful memories.

The flash of blue as lightning headed straight for her, then a sudden explosion of it when he jumped in front of her. She still can't believe he did that for her.

"Why would you bother in the first place..."

She had a habit of answering a question with another question. It was one that she had yet to get rid of and one she probably never would. Her aunt liked to say that she over analyzed things. But it was better to think things through as well as you could then making the mistake of thinking you knew everything in the beginning. The couple of years had taught her that much. She stopped bothering with her hair, simply deciding in the end to pull out the pins and let her hair hang as it would. It made no difference anyway.

"No... Something about me being to "gloomy" or whatever..."

As always her tone was completely emotionless and her expression bored. She waved a hand dismissively as if it didn't matter. Dating was not something she did frequently and she did not see a real point in it, especially not after her last relationship. After all it was a rarity for someone to ask her out. Her stoic personality and constant sense of boredom was rather off putting to most. But that clearly didn't seem to be the case with Ryuu.

"You aren't gloomy, just... quiet. You see the world how it is, and you reflect that in your actions." Ryuu starts down the steps and waits for her before going into the street. She looks quite beautiful from this point of view, with the light from the shop behind her. An ethereal quality to her looks.

"You're either smarter than you look...or more of a daydreamer... I have yet to decide which..."

That was as close to a compliment as things were going to get coming from her. Still she shut the shop door, turning the key in the lock and slid it back into her sleeves. She walked down the stairs to join him in the street. For a moment it seemed like a faint smile played on her lips. It could have simply been a trick of the light because it was gone withing the blink of an eye.

Ryuu smiles and thinks about offering his arm to her, but deciding that she was too independent for that. "I think both of those are good things to be, so thank you, Mai." He makes his way down the street slightly in front of her so she doesn't really have to deal with the crowds pushing and shoving.
