Nope. Bases are well distributed. We've got a pretty damn good cast. I may also make a second character just to add some more diversity to the roleplay

Sumire
The distant voices of the townsfolk could be heard on the breeze as it wove through the village and the trees and skated over the fields. The rustling of the grass and chirring of cicadas fell on the ears of Sumire where she lay amongst the vegetation of the garden to the rear of Granny's house. Her pointed auditory appendages twitched and lowered seemingly randomly as the white furred feline lay sprawled out on her stomach with her chin resting on her paws, her fluffy tail switching tentatively as she apparently napped in the warm sun.

She was a clean white streak amongst the grass, her bright color only made to stand out more by the light of the sun that shone down upon her, the skin on her back twitching slightly every now and then, the fur there standing on end and waving slightly each time the breeze blew against it. Sumire yawned after a moment, her front paws stretching out in front of her, claws extended and pointlessly clawing at the ground before she drew them back in, coiling them against her pink nose and muzzle before gently licking and gnawing her paw between the pads and rolling over onto her back, stretching out so her stomach was exposed.

Bubbles
Bubbles hummed happily as she bounced through the forest, ears flattened against the wind, the ball of fur humans called her "tail" following each twist she hopped. Today was a good day for her bunny rabbit self. She was going to visit a fellow spirit user, someone she had always looked up to as an example of the beautiful blend of the human and animal cultures contained within each and every spirit user.

A sudden growl interrupted her cheerful thoughts, and Bubbles instinctively tensed. A wild animal was nearby, and Bubbles sixth sense of danger was tingling. Wah, so scary. Maybe I should just go home....

Bubbles shook her head, clapping her paws against her tiny cheeks. No! You've got to learn to be brave. Besides, don't you want to visit Sumire-chan?

With her extended field of view reaching almost 360 degrees, Bubbles quickly scanned her surroundings. She didn't spot anything, but the growl had creeped her out, so she quickened her pace hopping along the trail. "Stupid scary dog," She muttered.

The rest of her journey went by without any problem, and Bubbles was soon at the the village Sumire resided in. Channeling her spiritual energy from the nature around her, she transformed into her human form, stretching as she grew. As a human, Bubbles wore a simple outfit and kept her hair in a ponytail. When the transformation had finished, Bubbles stretched, letting out a sigh. "Ahh... always nice to have bare skin against this wind."

Walking into the village to the spot she knew Sumire normally rested at. Cupping her hands to her mouth, Bubbles shouted, "Sumire-chan! Sumire-chan! Where are you~" As she scanned the spot for any signs of a kitten nearby.

Sumire
Her eyes started to peek open in her dreamy state as she thought she heard the sound of her name being called. Her actual, true name had only been spoken by a handful of people ever in her life, for the most part she went by the name Granny had given her and it was all the village referred to her as. She laid there stiffly for a moment, just listening, her second set of eyelids almost visible beneath the first as the sapphire shade of her eyes peered out lazily between them.

Then she heard her name again and she flopped over onto her side, shaking her head rapidly, the sound of her ears spasming with the motion audible to any nearby. She quickly rose to her feet and dashed to the garden wall, bounding up the bits of rock that jutted out from the structure until she could perch atop it and let out two loud, chirring meows.

Bubbles
Bubbles uncupped her hands and beamed at Sumire. "There you are! I missed you~" Skipping over to the wall, her human ears instinctively twitching with happiness, she looked up and motioned towards the forest. "I want to talk to you about something I heard in my village. It's suuuuperrrr cool!" Bubbles exclaimed, spreading her arms to emphasize just how cool what she heard was. Knowing she would soon follow, Bubbles skipped into the forest where the two spirit users could talk, away from human eyes.

Sumire
Sumire offered another little chirping meow to Bubbles and stood, her tail straight up in the air behind her and waving gently as though she were agreeing with the sentiment. Her head nodded as Bubbles skipped off. It was a good thing that Granny's house was tucked away from the town and just on the edge of the forest, it was part of why Sumire liked it so much, she didn't really have to deal with any of the other townsfolk.

When they had moved far enough into the forest that they would be unseen and unheard, Sumire paused and closed her large, feline eyes, concentrating on the spirit energy around her and allowing it to flow into her being. Her body glowed brightly, her white fur making it almost blinding as the spiritual energy she drew on grew her form until she was at her Human height. Her human hair was pulled back and rolled into a bun at the nape of her neck, held there by a blue bow. She wore a short, white kimono, accented by small blue flowers that were almost purple in color and were smattered all over the fabric, growing into one solid shade of the blue towards the hem and the ends of the sleeves. white tabi boots adorned her feet and around her waist she wore a pale blue obi tied in a pretty bow at her back. A thinner sash was also tied around her hips and tucked in this were her katana and tanto blades.

Her first action once in Human form were to give Bubbles a hug. She didn't have a lot of creatures that she cared about, but she could look at Bubbles like a sister, even if they weren't even the same species. From beneath her messy white bangs, those sapphire colored eyes peered out at the younger Spirit User questioningly, "what are these things you heard?" Her voice was gentle and soft but the words she chose and how she spoke them carried a bit of confidence to them.

Sumire had heard whisperings of legends and the firefly grove and something about the moon... but it was all so tedious to remember and currently didn't affect her so she had just lost interest. The thought did cross her mind however, that with Bubbles being more interested in... well, everything. As Bubbles had left her home at a young age, Sumire had declined to do so, simply because she just didn't want to.

Bubbles
"Sumire!" Bubbles exclaimed, returning the hug with an enthusiastic singsong exclamation and burying her head into Sumire's shoulder. "Oh, I missed you so much!" Releasing her bear hug on Sumire, Bubbles gazed up at her with sparkling eyes.

Sumire
Her eyes closed for a moment as Bubbles returned the hug, for a brief moment mimicking the purring noise she would have made if she were in her cat form before she stood back from the girl slightly so she could intently gaze upon her face as she spoke. The rabbit Spirit User was a contradiction to the feline's own demeanor. Where Bubbles was full of energy and talkative, Sumire was notably less so in either case.

Bubbles
Bubbles smiled at the purr she heard, then prepared to regale Sumire with her new idea for an adventure. She usually reserved herself among others, but she held a specific fondness of talking to Sumire, even if it came at the expense of clarity. With a quick breath, Bubbles began to speak, occasionally clipping her sentences as she hurried to finish. "So, like, remember how I said I was interested in humans? Like I totally still am, but their daily life is sooo boring! It's do this, do that, go to sleep, wake up, and the same thing all over again! And don't get me started on the smells! Thank goodness my human form has a more limited sense of smell, or else I wouldn't be able to live in the village. The stenches I encounter each day! I mean, the smell of fire itself already gives me the chills, but when it's mixed with cooked meat-" Bubbles wrinkled her nose. "Bleh."

Stopping to take a breath, Bubbles poked Sumire in the stomach. "And that's where you come in. You see, I've been hearing discussions of some sort of meetup happening at this 'firefly grove', something where people go on this EPIC adventure, away from this boredom, where we save the whole world or something! How cool is that? There's just a tiny problem. It requires that I travel through the forest, but if I go alone I'll get scared of all the creepy things that come out at night to attack a poor bunny like me. And that's where you come in! You'll be my guardian spirit." Bubbles smiled triumphantly. "You're in, right?"

Sumire
Sumire watched Bubbles, unblinking, her own small hands loosely holding the girl's for a moment before slowly pulling away as her pale face remained unchanging and unreadable. In all honesty, she looked bored. She couldn't nearly approach the same level of exuberance that Bubbles had. It wasn't necessarily because she was uninterested in what Bubbles was saying so much as what she was talking about.

She actually enjoyed the smell of meat, but then again, that was in her nature and taking a rabbit under her wing was unusual as it was. Though everything else Bubbles said about Humans she could definitely relate to, Granny was the exception. She wanted to lay down as she listened to Bubbles, but in her current form, that would be rather odd so she remained steadfast as she took in what the other Spirit User said, flinching slightly as she felt the small pressure from Bubble's finger when her obi was poked.

A slow blink was the first response Sumire gave her friend after her explanation of why she had returned to this particular village. Now she really wanted to lay down, the whole thought of going on some long, unexpected, unpredictable journey just made her want to curl up and take a nap and thinking about napping made her yawn, one of her hands moving to shield the view of her wide open mouth before she stretched, standing on her tiptoes and her arms reaching up into the air, a relaxed sigh being released from between her cherubic lips.

After a moment of silence brought on by Sumire's actions, she finally responded, "Why?" Her arms remained in an upward position, but rather than stretching now, they had bent at the elbows, the long sleeves hanging down to expose the bare skin of her forearms as her hands rested beneath the white bun of hair on the lower part of the back of her head, "Humans are generally pretty awful... you have experienced this yourself, why would you want to do anything to save their world?" her eyelids had lowered lazily, her head tilted back slightly as she looked down at Bubbles, not because she was actually looking down on her, but because the girl was actually a whole foot shorter than she. Her words were rather blunt, not meaning to be cruel, more so serving as a reminder. Their life spans would be a blink of what Human existence was and she hadn't a mind to do anything that would benefit them in the long run, especially when it involved her leaving a rather peaceful existence there in the village, in other words, she needed convincing.

Bubbles
Bubbles' mouth formed a small pout as she let a small poof escape. "Geez, Sumire-chan, why didn't you just say yes?" Bubbles placed one hand on her waist and the other on her chin, leaning to the left as she responded. "Um... it's fun? And look at this nature! It's so beautiful. There's trees, birds, wolves...." Bubbles shivered. "Maybe not wolves. But don't you get the point? We'll be a pair of furry fighters kicking evil butt and saving nature! I mean, bleh humans and stuff, but don't you want to knock 'saving nature' off your bucket list?"

Sumire
Again, the slow blink as she looked into Bubbles' face before lowering her arms, the long ends of her sleeves swinging slightly as her arms rested against her sides, her shoulders shrugging slightly beneath the fabric of her kimono as she looked away sleepily, the breeze picking up again and ruffling her bangs where they lay over her forehead, the ends of the strands tickling her eyelashes slightly and causing her to blink a few times before her slender digits brushed them away in annoyance.

She considered what Bubbles had to say as she looked out into the green of the forest which was still lush with life and the sounds of birds could be heard as they flitted in and out of the canopy, their songs carried along with the wind. A soft rustle of the shrubbery around them heard every now and then outside of when the wind blew. Her eyes closed again as she turned her head towards her friend once more, lazily opening them again to expose those blues which were now gazing upon Bubbles, she had a mind to present another argument to the contrary of what Bubbles had just said, but she didn't have the heart to actually do it. She wasn't completely brutal, after all.

"Fun... I am not so sure... but I can't let you go alone in good conscience," Her arms raised again and crossed over her chest as a slight smirk played upon her lips, "and you would go alone had I said no, correct?"

Bubbles
"Going alone..." A slight breeze touched Bubbles' bare skin as she shivered at the thought of traversing the scary forest alone. "I would try to, but..." Bubbles blushed, giving Sumire a light punch on the shoulder. "You're making me say embarrassing things! The sounds of the forest always give me the creeps, which is why I need you to come with me! Please?" Bubbles clapped her hands together, looking to Sumire for an answer. "I promise to be more useful than the last time we traveled together!"

Sumire
The smirk slipped from Sumire's face as she watched Bubbles intently, her expression once again devoid of any emotion. Though the rest of her was unmoving, her eyes shifted over Bubbles, her pupils dilating and retracting as she examined the younger Spirit User's body language before she was lightly punched in the shoulder. Her head shook slightly in surprise as those blue eyes widened a bit to the playful touch.

Her posture relaxed slightly after a moment and a small and gentle smile slipped onto her features. She couldn't blame the little rabbit, it probably did feel safer to travel with a carnivore she could trust than to travel alone amongst many that she couldn't. In the end she conceded, though apparently reluctantly as she sighed heavily and looked away from the pleading face of Bubbles, her eyes turning up towards the canopy of leaves that shaded their little meeting place, "fine... I will go with you."

Bubbles
Bubbles squealed with delight, giving Sumire another quick hug. "Yay! I always knew you'd say yes!" Stepping back, Bubbles winked at her longtime friend. "Let's leave at around noon tomorrow, 'kay? I need to head back and gather my belongings. Tell the old lady her favorite bunny came by!"

~

Humming happily, Bubbles began skipping back towards her own village. Even as the sun lowered from the sky and the animals of the forest began prowling, Bubbles paid no attention to the sounds around her. Her mind was too occupied to notice any of what had scared her while traveling to Sumire’s village. She was overjoyed to be able to embark on a fun journey with her favorite spirit user, and not even the dangers of the forest could interrupt her bountiful imagination of the fun things that she'd be able to do at firefly grove.

The Next Day
"Look, look, Sumire!" Bubbles bent down to inspect the path they were traveling on, pushing her hair behind her ears as it fell. "A snail!" Plucking the snail from its resting place, Bubbles held it up to Sumire. "Isn't it cute?"

The duo had departed a little after noon and had already been walking for some time. Bubbles, needing something to do as they walked, would constantly point to different things and show them to Sumire, heedless to Sumire's own interest in it.

After setting the snail back down, Bubbles pulled a piece of Basil from her tiny satchel at her side, sticking it in her mouth and nibbling as they walked. "I mean, I know being in human form is probably for the better, in case we get attacked and don't have time to transform, but how can humans stand this? The travel speed is sooo slow. It's as if they have nothing better to do than walk all day. It's a good thing you're here, Sumire, or else I'd be dead. Forget the wild beasts, boredom would kill me first."

Bubbles glanced further down the path, spotting something on the ground. Tapping Sumire on the shoulder, Bubbles exclaimed, "Look, look, Sumire! Is that... oh my gosh, is that... it's a person! On the ground! Is the person dead?" As they drew a little closer, Bubbles could faintly make out that the person was still breathing. It didn't seem as if she had been "She's alive! We need to help her!"

Running forward, Bubbles bent down to examine the female, only to run back after noticing the tail and ears. "Eep! A Kitsune!" Pushing Sumire forward, Bubbles closed her eyes as she used her cat friend as a shield. "Sumire, help me help this scary fox!"
