The King's Daughter [Inactive]

"Well, I suppose it could get serious, but that is what makes it so much more exciting." Sorex tried to reassure Ana, though he could tell that she was just playing around a bit, which was something he could relate with, a good sense of fun and humour made the long journeys or dangerous missions tolerable for him.

She gave a small smile at his humor. "Mm. I suppose it can." The princess rose from her seat and gave the supposed Dragonborn a small nod. "Alright. I will travel with you, Sorex. Though I have one requirement, if I may..."

Sorex lights up when Ana says he will travel with him, though he tilts his head slightly out of curiosity before crossing his arms at her mention of a requirement. "Of course, what do you need? I presume you want a share of the special loot, and that's fine." He laughs a little before listening for what she has to say.

"Special--Oh, hm. Don't worry about that. I'm not so trivial as to take what you recieve," she said with a small grin. "My request is that we avoid large cities. If your travels require you to go to such places, I ask that you let me stay outside city limits while you do your business."

"Oh... Well, that's fine as well. Got a bounty on your head?" Sorex had met a few shady characters over his time adventuring, so he was no stranger to outlaws, though he would have never guessed the real reason she didn't want to be seen inside cities.

"Something along those lines." Anadriel gave a small frown that she tried to hide--as friendly as this man was, it would be a mistake to tell him the truth so soon before she could truly outline his character. "If you want to think of it as such, by all means."

"Huh." Sorex says simply, though he was a little suspicious she might be hiding something, he wasn't about to intrude, he figured he would find out later on anyway. "Well, our first port of call won't be in a city, I think we're gonna go to a little Bandit-filled alcove that I found yesterday." He bore a wide grin on his face as he spoke. "Do you need to grab anything?"

A princes bounty hunter. She chuckled at the thought, amused of what her mother might say if she saw her daughter bearing a bow and arrow in the company of the Dragonborn. "You mean the ones who nearly killed you?" Ana teased. "All I need are my weapons. Archery and short blades are my specialties, unfortunately I don't know any magic...I hope that doesn't make you reconsider."

The thought of leaving her tiny prison made her giddy, and Anadriel couldn't resist sporting a bright smile.

Sorex laughed a little again, though it was obvious he was a bit embarrassed. "Yea... the ones that nearly killed me." He scratched his head a little before continuing, trying to change the subject. "I don't usually use magic if I can help it, but sometimes it can be helpful to know a few tricks. A real weapon never fails." Sorex said as he flung his mace around a bit, he was clearly looking forward to a battle.

"Perhaps we can teach one another a few things, then." Anadriel flashed him a warm grin, gathering up what she needed and letting out a small sigh. "I hope this little cabin can serve someone else as well as it has served me. We can come back here later too, if they manage to use you as target practice again."

"Sounds like a plan." Sorex wasn't particularly keen on learning archery or the like from her, he enjoyed brutal close-quarters combat too much, though teaching her seemed more within the realm of possibilities. "Oh, I don't think they'll get so lucky. I doubt they would expect me to come back so soon, so we have the element of surprise, should be able to take out a few before they even realize whats going on." He spoke with an air of experience for a fairly young man.

"Going to Shout at them?" she chuckled, pretending ignorance. She had witnessed a Shout before, the Shout the murdered her father and left a traitorous usurper in control of Windhelm. Anadriel chased the thought away desperately.

"...actually, don't do that."

"I usually don't Shout unless I'm about to get a blade in my stomach, usually it attracts alot of attention, so I'll generally tend not to go around the countryside Shouting at everything I see. So you have nothing to worry about." Sorex sounded friendly enough, though in the back of his mind he was thinking over everything Ana was saying, first she didn't want to be in cities, and now had a problem with Shouting? He wondered what she must have been through to put herself in a position like this.

"I suppose that makes sense." Anadriel could practically sense his prying thoughts, the wheels in his head turning to try and figure out her peculiar identity, so the princess quickly changed the subject. "These bandits...is there a bounty out for them, or are you only seeking them out because they nearly killed you?" She packed a few final things before looking to her new companion, prepared to depart.

After Ana finished preparing, Sorex began walking outside the old shack and head off towards the Bandit's enclave as he spoke. "I originally was hunting after them cause their leader has a rather large bounty on his head, but you could say vengeance plays a part in it now." It wasn't a long walk, and so the Bandit-ridden fort quickly came into view, sure enough, they were on their regular patrols.

"Not that I can blame you," Ana added before the half-assed fort came into view. It was clearly in repair, as if Sorex had done considerable damage and they had only just begun to fix things.

"What a mindless pack," she chuckled to herself. "I've run into bandits more ferocious than this, they--"

They nearly killed him.

"...uhm. I mean, they look terrifying."

Sorex squinted his eyes a little at Ana, he was about to say a snarky comment, but decides against it. "Shouldn't be too difficult now they don't know we are here." He gestured to one of the bandits on one of the lookout posts, it was fairly obvious he was in charge of the gate that protected the fort, and if he closed it off it would be alot more difficult moving forward. "Wanna show me how good of a shot you are?"

The challenge was more than welcome. Anadriel chuckled and drew her bow, pausing only to give a small grin. "Are you ready, Sorex?"

Sorex unsheathed his mace from his side and propped his shield up infront of him, preparing his legs to charge forward when Ana's arrow flies. "Ready when you are."

Less than a second from the end of Sorex's words, Anadriel released her arrow and watched it plunge into the heart of the distant bandit. The other men came to immediate attention and looked to the source of the arrow, while the princess readied and released another.

"Go!"

Sorex quickly charged to his feet and rushed to the closest bandit, giving him a vicious whack to the back of head before he even knew what was going on. Another nearby Bandit was quick to swing his his blade down, but the sword only met a shield with a loud clang, Sorex counter-attacks with a shield bash while the bandit reeled back, an audible crack of ribs could be heard as he drives he mace into the Bandit's side. With the front guards dealt with, Sorex heads into the fort's courtyard, motioning behind him for Ana to back him up.

Anadriel fired arrow after arrow, taking out bandits who lined the wall and prepared to fire down at Sorex. It felt strange, protecting a man who felt like a stranger, but her arms didn't hesitate as she let each arrow fly. When the men atop the walls of their camp were smothered in the princess's arrows, Sorex's path to the bandit leader was granted.

With Ana occupying the bandits in the courtyard, Sorex continues cleaving a path through their enemies until he comes up to the door to the fort, quickly stepping in and leaving it ajar for Ana once she had finished cleaning up the rest of the Bandits. His eyes take a moment to adjust to see the cold stone walls dimly lit by torch-light, though he could hear the ruckus of the Bandit's chief yelling at his subjects not to far off in the distance. Determined, Sorex heaves his mace behind him and keeps his shield at the ready, going down the stairs and turning the corner to where the Bandit chief resided.

Ana wiped off the blade of her dagger on the cloth of a dead man, sniffling a bit as she placed it back in it's sheath. The princess had always been good at archery and short blade weaponry, two very different types of fighting, which she was sure would come to Sorex's use. She stepped carefully unto the bandit's caves, slipping unnoticed behind her companion and waited for his instructions, if he even knew she was there. Perhaps it would be best to make herself known.

"How many do you think are down there?" she whispered.

Ana's comment broke Sorex's train of thought, though he quickly regained his focus. "Uhm... I heard a few move out the backdoor to try and fight us in the courtyard, but they'll come back in when they realized we aren't there. That should leave the Chief and few of his elite mercenaries, so they might actually know which side to hold a sword." He continues silently moving down the corridors of the fort, before accidentally stepping on a trap. In a quick motion, he halts and stops Ana from walking any further before a large battering ram appeared from a hidden alcove and rushed past, barely missing Sorex's face. "This must be a trapped corridor, so look out." He says without so much as a turn before carrying on.
