She noticed the bogies a second before Shogun said something. With a smirk she engaged her aft thrusters and shot straight up, as if she had been shot out at a cannon. She then stopped quite suddenly, and turned off all thrusters, allowed the largest object in the area to exert any external gravitational pull it could. Once the bugs got closer she shot straight down.

I still need a dodge roll. With your bonuses, you'll probably evade all three unless you roll crappy.
 
Luke seeing how effective the plasma spear is he decides to try it him self he aims for the shock trooper's sensor eye and attacks

Wolf's plasma spear works to devastating effect, shattering the sensor cluster of the Shock Trooper and killing the operator inside.


Cypher hits the radio. "Command has tasked a squad of Alphas to take out those last three Scouts, so we can use our ordinance to disable the engines of the one Robotech Master transport. I say again, we are to disengage the Invid and move on the starship."

"Cypher I copy. I'll return these bugs so friends can play too. Shogun, Ghost, headed your way with unfriendlies in tow. "
 
The squad breaks off from the last few Invid Scouts as a trio of Alphas come flying up to take your place. With your high speed, you are able to close the distance to the two troopships in mere moments. They have begun to launch their Bioroids, and there is already about a hundred in the space around the ships, forming up to engage the REF forces. Your target is the ship on the port side, and you are to disable the engines as a way of letting the Robotech Masters know that you are not messing around, but are willing to talk peace.


The engines are going to be heavily armored, with a MDC rating in the thousands of points. Also, you know that the ship is bristling with dozens of point defense lasers, so you will be taking fire as you engage.


Cypher calls out on the radio, "Ey, these Bioroids can't fly on their own, right? So, if we take out their hover sleds, it will leave the pilot alive but tumbling helplessly in space. I'm sending that info up the line to Command. Hopefully we can keep the loss of life to a minimum."

"Ghost to Shogun, engaging engines now. Three missiles for now. Let's see what we're up against." Ghost triggers three of his medium range missiles at the port ship's engines. C'mon, hit the target this time.
 
A sudden flash of light from your cockpit reveals a electrical short, and the missiles do not launch. The computer initiates a self-repair program, but for that moment, you can't fire any ordinance.


But, your attack run is not unnoticed. As you swing around to get into your attack position, three of the defense lasers fire at you, blistering the space between you and the ship. One is way off target, but unless you dodge, the other two will hit.

Her heart stopped beating that second, that one moment in time when Hiro's attack brought on three targeted lasers His attack should have hit- something was wrong, something had gone wrong. She swung around and faced him, her face ashen. <<Hiro! MOVE!>>
 
<<Attempt will make, not good.>> Ghost answered in his somewhat improving Zentraedi. He sent the Valkerie into a flat spin, then a leftward breaking spirl, pressed into his seat by the force of his manuevers. "Ghost to Shogun, my Valkerie's had a short in the firing system. All ordinance offline but the self-repair is working on it."
 
it will only take one action for you to be able to shoot again. It was just the special effect to the roll of a '1'.
The sudden flare in your control console must have affected the maneuvering jets too, because when you went to evade, nothing happened and you were slammed both lasers. Main body takes a total of 120 MDC.


You also notice that a squadron of 15 Bioroids are angling your direction, but with your speed advantage, they are having trouble closing in on you enough to engage.

She quickly judged the distance between her and Hiro and punched it. She pushed her armor as fast as she could. "Hiro-Ghost- prepare for impact." She reached out and grabbed him, mere seconds before the twin lasters could hit him, pulled him in and instantly brought them both into a downward spiral that took them away from immediate threat.


"Damage?" she asked once she stopped moving long enough to take stock of his situation.
 
Since you are trying to make a dodge attempt for Ghost, roll your 20 and add your bonuses. If you don't make the dodge, you are in danger of taking the hits instead.

Her heart couldn't decide it wanted to beat wildly or not at all. She wished she could get out of her armor and Hiro out of his bird. She really needed to make sure he was all right. If he wasn't, she would make them pay.

a bit dramatic perhaps but needed to post something to let you know I rolled.

The superior speed and maneuverability of the Female Powered Armor makes it possible to do the nearly impossible. You were able to snatch Ghost out of the way of the defense lasers without getting cooked yourself. Thank you wife, good sir, she just saved you from your damage.
 
"Ghost to Smurfette, no damage, I repeat, no damage. Thank you ma'am. I owe you a night in." Ghost snarled into his facemask. He knew that without Zairine's help he'd have been badly damaged and now wasn't the time to have a hinky ship under him. "Re-trying self-repair subroutine. Let's see if she'll fix herself this time."

She placed a hand onto his cockpit window. "Is my pleasure," she said, her heart finally returning to a normal rhythm now that he was out of harm's way. "Let's get bird fixed." She did not, however, leave his side nor would she move until she was sure he was able to move under his own power, after all, there were still several bioroids moving into position.
 
Cypher punches up the targeting computer on her heads up display. "Shogun, I want to light this bastard up with some mini missiles. Get in a little closer." As the Valkyrie banks in, the point defense lasers also track your approach. As Cypher triggers off a spray of a full pod of mini missiles, three lasers lash out and try to swat the Veritech from the sky. She calls out, "Incoming fire! Evade!" The missiles track successfully, and all fifteen slam into the engine. Armor goes flying, but there is still plenty of layers of defense between you and the delicate inner workings of the engines.

Further back from the dog fighting, Spooky rolls and boosts at top speed towards the fray. Simultaneously, she targets the engine with her single long range missile. A good use for it, plus the 3.8% boost in weight distribution on her veritech. Once closer, the mini missiles may prove more effective but this should work for now.
 
The missile flies true and slams into the heavy armor of the transport ship. You can see the signs of your attack all over the armor, but it will take a lot more firepower to disable the engines of the great ship.


As you pull up and away, you come into range of another set of the defense lasers; a trio fires at you as you speed away. Beat a 17 on your dodge or you'll get hit by at least one of them.

The lasers lash out in sharp bright lines. Each one passing harmlessly by as the veritech matches the inhumanly graceful movements of Evangeline inside.


Speeding along, she regroups with the others. An extreme nonchalant look on her face.
 
Once more, the superior reflexes, training and equipment get you clear of the fire with ease.
 
As Cypher's warning comes across the comm, Shogun's hands move in a blur across his controls and the Metal Siren Valkyrie responds instantly. The afterburners kick up to full reheat, pressing both pilots back into their seats to evade the first laser. Then an aileron roll to evade the second. The third had been tracking his headlong approach and fired after his aerobatics. At this close range, chances were that a lesser pilot would be hit by it. But Shogun was not in the mood to be a lesser pilot this time. He angled the venturies of the afterburners as far to starboard as he could and he and Cypher were pushed hard to the right as the Veritech performed a flat spin, like a thrown frisbee. The third laser blast passed harmlessly past the long tapered nose of the fighter and Shogun corrected the spin with a casual glance behind him.


"Was that evasive enough for you?"

19 (die roll) + 8 (Dodge bonus) + 6 (Training bonus) = 33
 
"Showoff. Now, lets see you hit your target. Its only the size of a house, after all." You can hear the smile in her voice as she challenges you. "Keep your speed up so we can avoid engaging those Bioroids. They are slow enough we can fly circles around them."

Shogun smiled inside him helmet and sighted up on the target. The plasma spear was still recharging, so he decided to open up with the medium missiles. These weapons would be good for eating through the armor of the engines, opening up weak points for others to exploit. He targeted the area that previous missile strikes had damaged, locked on, then launched.

Launching two medium missiles: (die roll) + 7 (Strike bonus) + 3 (Weapon bonus) = 29
