To answer your question, they are definitely NPC's (however, that doesn't make them unassailable! Interact as you see fit, please!) They'll will make appearances somewhat sporadically, when plot necessitatesor just when things seem to be going a little too right! Whether it's just individuals (e.g. Hyra alone) or all of them together, will depend on how much I can handle in a given situation. To my shame, that isn't always much, but I'll do my best, promise! And besides, I hope to join you guys as a comrade soon after the first quest wraps up!

Fantastic! I was wondering where to put her clan's primitive settlement - they're fairly rough and tough so I figure they've set up near-ish the wall, or at least near enough to test themselves against some of the encroaching threats from beyond without being in constant danger.I imagine there could be one or two if they have the defences.
Next to the wall isn’t a smart place to live, but Colby does ok because it has protection from the guild.
Darby (from the cursed village quest) is not too far from the wall.
