Realistic or Modern The House on Beacon Street

Will edit momentarily.

So, I had an idea which seemed to spark into a full-fledged thought that could be incorporated into my character. Bip is NOT emotionless, she's just empty at points due to her condition. She's been there for quite a while and has had the ability to study people who aren't of the Supernatural variety, I wanted to make her develop a one-sided relationship with a human whom she watched often just for reasons..this puts quite a hardship on Bip herself due to the fact that her inability to be seen by mortals and the fact that she is unable to touch tangible objects would hinder her in the 'infatuation' section of things. Of course, Bip got over these conflicted emotions and moved on but I just wanted to see if this was a good idea and possibly establish another relationship besides 'I really like that librarian'.

Okay, here's what I've come up with:

@Annabella Where Bip's loneliness stems from being ignored by humans, Graham's stems from being noticed. I think, because Bip has lived in the house the longest, that Graham (who moved in two years ago) initially treated her with great respect. He gave her space and tried not to bother her. Over time, perhaps, he realized that Bip was a sweet ghost, if not a sad one. I can imagine Graham inviting Bip to go on walks or errands with him every once in a while. He'll chat with her normally while they're on the sidewalk and regular passersby will stare at him like, "Is this dude crazy?" because they can't see her. XP But I can see a very pleasant relationship between Graham and Bip. Maybe they're not the best of friends and don't know intimate details about each other's lives (for example, she doesn't know about his notebook of tragic events and he doesn't know how she died), but I think they'd be content in each other's presence.

And I like your idea! It makes sense that she's something of a voyeur (though not in a perverse sense). I think watching Bip's ups and downs when it comes to romance would add a lightness and sweetness to the RP as a whole. Unrequited love is a wonderful idea to play on, and when you consider Bip's loneliness, it's just heartbreaking. People need emotional and physical contact. Poor Bip! Are you considering a relationship with one of her housemates?

(Forgive me if you clarified this already, but since Bip is currently 19, when you say she came to realize she was a ghost when she was 16, do you mean it's been only three years since she passed? In which case, were she still alive, she'd be 21 now, yes? These characters are all college students so it's unlikely Bip would have been in the house at 16. I also recall you saying that she's been in the house longer than anyone else has, which, even if she's only been there for three years, would still be true, but was your intention to have had her "haunting" the place for a longer period of time?)

@AlwaysYours Perhaps Graham has seen Jonathan at the Sledgehammer before - how long has he been working there? If he's been there for a while, then it could be fun to think that Graham thought Jonathan was another normal human being. Then, when Jonathan's application came in to rent the vacant room, the full realization of his supernatural condition came to light.
No wonder he always seemed so chill when we spoke. Since Jonathan isn't affected by Graham's voice, it would have given Graham hope for a minute that maybe he was losing his siren's call. As Jonathan is new in the house and seems like a private person, Graham would probably give him space to settle in. But if they knew each other from before Jonathan moved in, there might be a casual friendliness between the two.

@NimbusTheCat I sense that Justin may not be Graham's biggest fan. Since Justin spends so much time downstairs, he'll definitely hear Graham's heavy footsteps and general scuffling when he gets up for his morning runs. Graham's door-slamming habit may drive Justin crazy. Luckily, the two don't share a bathroom, otherwise Justin's primping may have driven Graham crazy! The fact that Justin is so polished, older, and intense may make it hard for Graham to relate to him, especially when it's five in the morning and he sees Justin quietly sitting in the living room... in the dark... alone. Graham has already lost track of the number of times Justin has spooked him. Generally, I think Graham finds Justin eerie and enigmatic. (Do supernatural people know about his condition? Or is it entirely secret?) I can imagine Graham trying to guess what Justin could be - and having fun doing so - but never knowing for sure what kind of supernatural Justin is.
Maybe he's foreign? XP

Sorry that took so long, guys! But mull this over and let me know what you think, please. I'm open to all suggestions and changes.

This seems spot-on to me! Not the first to bring up that sitting in the dark habit. xD And I realize that I didn't really clarify, so I apologize, but while the others would definitely know that he was Supernatural, he would try really hard to keep exactly what he was a secret. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

Bip died at 16, she hasn't aged in the sense of physical but she still celebrates her birthday. When she came to the house, she was 16 but 16 was quite a long time ago.. I don't know how to explain it exactly and I was thinking of possibly starting some form of relationship with a house member if anyone was up for it. I agree with you wholeheartedly on the relationship between Graham and Bip.

@Pluvious Agreed. Graham and Jonnie can be friends. I was thinking...Sledgehammer=Central Perk? There could even be a way for Bip to go...at some point.

She'd probably just sit and watch you guys intently. It'd be fun. xD

@Annabella my dear, Bip is gonna be Jonathan's pet project for the first few "episodes". TO quote the Music Demon from Buffy, "This time, with feeling."

To quote Mischa Collins-

I have a feeling this RP is gonna be fucking amazing..

@NimbusTheCat Glad we're on the same page!

@AlwaysYours Hahaha! Love it. I'm curious about this plan Jonathan has for Bip.

@Annabella Thanks for clarifying! So, maybe before the house was turned into a place for supernatural student living, it was her actual home? Decades ago? Like, in the fifties or something? How long ago exactly did she die? I had also intended for all characters to be at least 18 (since they're in college and it's a student house). Of course, Bip's situation is a little different since no one except other supernaturals can see her anyway. If you feel like aging Bip up would somehow take away from or significantly alter who she is, then I'd be open to her being 16. Just keep in mind that everyone else in the house is at least 19 (again in appearance), so there's still that age difference to consider.

@Raphael Since your character also died a long time ago, would you mind providing when he passed away? We know Rydel is actually 1900, (so I want to say that means vampires age one year physically for every hundred they're alive). You mentioned in your CS that Zeno's younger sister is now 87, so how long has he been a reaper then?

Perhaps I'll make the realization at exactly 19 years old.. She died in 1960.

Bip is such a fashionable ghost. Maybe she went to juice bars and did the twist and ratted her hair into the perfect beehive. Hahaha! Is she more like Jackie O, Audrey Hepburn or Twiggy? xD

My Grandmere has these really old dresses that she doesn't wear so she gives them to me. She always sews (yup, that kind of Grandmere) so she always makes the most beautiful ones which I love to wear. There's this baby blue one that is my favorite.

@Pluvious

Well, I don't think they should age physically because, I guess, they really shouldn't linger long. Like finish their work and boom begone, but since Zeno is such a sadistic fellow and can't get enough of death, he's been "living" the longest.

Okay, so he dies at 21, which is his physical age. His sister was 14 the time he died. I'm assuming we're basing this in 2015 so that'd mean he died in 1942, making him 94. I'll make his death date July 8, 1942.

Excuse me, but all ya' old peeps are deffo gonna be hearing some old jokes coming from Erin. xD
