The Good Ship (Flighter and Oit)

((Niche-Glasses Counter: 13))

Kolliah nodded happily, cheered as Walter had once again been reassured by her words. He'd be fine for a while, she was sure, but just in case she was still going to follow him around. She let him scoot out of his bed and head for the door, but to both of their surprise, Sanade was standing a little bit from the door, looking as if she had made a sudden movement to make it seem like she had been waiting there, and not eavesdropping.

"Who's that?" She asked Walter, now hovering above his shoulder.

--

"Huh? Oh, yeah... Me, Airii, and Eirii made these, Walter. Like she said, did you want any?" Drianne was a bit embarrassed, from complying to Sanade's lie, but she did want him to try some, too. She shifted nervously in place , struggling to keep the tray in her small child hands.

Kolliah asked Walter who the new girl was, and forgetting that her and Drianne were right there, he answered the goddess right away.

"Oh, that's Sanade... Niche-Something, I-I don't know." He twitched, "Right, right, the newcomer, she's the newcomer the one from Earth -- Japan!"

And then he remembered that the two were still there, watching him talk to no one in particular (at least from their point of view).

"You're from Japan." He stated, choosing to briefly point at her with his index and middle finger (for pointing with one finger wasn't polite at all, no), "And you! You're the girl from before, from the banquet! Right, and you brought these for me to try? That's very nice of you, uh..." He thought to remember her name, "Drianne. It was Drianne."

He took a treat from the tray and took a bite, his expression going from curious to delighted when he enjoyed the thing quite a bit.

"So you can sew and bake, then? Hah, Drianne, you're quite the little marvel aren't you?"

He looked distant for a second, the voice screeching its lies in his head, but these lies were so easy to believe now, weren't they? Sanade was spying on him, surely. She was spying and planned to use his weaknesses against him! She was going to kill him! Well, he'll certainly make sure to kill her before she swipes at his skin once with that threatening knife of hers.

He dropped the rest of the treat and was on Sanade within seconds, shoving against her and getting his claws out.

"You stay away from me, you bloody maniac!" He snarled at her, completely tensed to the point of shaking.

“Hey, whoa, whoa, whoa. What the f-“ Sanade was shoved aside by the young man. His nails revealed claws that jutted out from underneath them in a Wolverine-esque way and Sanade figured that this was what ‘these’ were referring to earlier. Yep, she definitely can’t take those away, not without a pair of fliers and some anaesthetic, the latter completely obligatory, of course. “Bloody maniac, huh? Gotta take a look at yourself.” She replied, calmly, as if the situation wasn’t about to end with her slashed into a million pieces. She wouldn’t lie, though, she was eavesdropping on him, and therefore technically spying on him. And his rambling earlier, before he snapped, he seemed to be trying to recognise her, or maybe he was talking to a person that was absent. Or was this person actually absent? This was a world of fantasy, anything could happen. Sanade hardly doubted that this Kolliah person was on the other end of the telephone line now, and was in fact, just here, with them, maybe picking his or her nose in front of Sanade’s face.

Sanade took a few steps back, then her eyes fell on the treat on the floor. She gave a gasp of horror, and her hand shot into her pocket, retrieving her blood-stained handkerchief, before ducking towards the ground and picking up the treat, and wrapped her cloth around it. “Sheesh, did your mamma ever tell you not to litter?”

At first it seemed as if Walter was having difficulty recalling the identities of those infront of them. Within his explanation of the first, the one that stood infront of the door, he cut off part of her last name and paused before stating where she came from. Kolliah nodded, rubbing the bottom of her chin, floating out just a bit to investigate this Niche person, right when he changed his point of view to make it seem like he wasn't totally crazy.

"You're from Japan. And you! You're the girl from before, from the banquet! Right, and you brought these for me to try? That's very nice of you, uh... Drianne. It was Drianne."

"Oh! I see! Yes, I know of Drianne. But I still wonder who this Niche person really is." She giggled. "I hope we meet some time."

Drianne drew out about five consecutive blinks, questioning all of Walter's actions up until he forced himself on Niche, to the exception of trying one of the biscuits she had on the tray. She gave out a surprised squeal, even backed away, but... Niche didn't seem to be as provoked as she had been. The most of her worries, it seemed, was the unfinished cookie that fell down to the ground. She exhaled. "That... That scared me...!" Drianne started, giving in to a frown.

Kolliah cursed, huddling over Walter once more. "Walter, calm down! It's not true, whatever it's telling you it's not true. Okay? You're safe in the castle! Don't worry!" Kolliah internally sighed. She'd think he was alright. But it was worse than she thought.

((I thought it was going to turn out bad, but it isn't so bad.

Sorree. I wanted to sleep to get rid of my mixed feelings, but that would only make you maad. And, I didn't want to spread my mixed feelings in some annoying way. My paranoia was about to kick in again and make me think about how y'all would view me 'cause I would request a crapload of things to post. So I hope the apology would get rid of it for now. ; ;) )

Walter growled and shook in his anger at Sanade's words.

She's just playing dumb! The voice insisted, she's just playing dumb, she wants you to suffer! She's just like your parents, they all just want you to suffer! Kill them all, show them

Just like his parents. But he barely even knew -- Don't question me! Don't question the things I say! I only want what's best for you, Walter! So kill them!

No, he really barely knew Sanade, as well as Drianne, and he was fully pulled away from the voice's influence when Kolliah started yelling at him. He swatted at nothing in particular, troubled by Kolliah's own voice as well as his internal one, wincing a bit when they talked at once. The voice was trying to keep him from hearing Kolliah. How childish. But he knew what she was trying to tell him -- Her voice alone was a good reminder.

He backed away from Sanade and Drianne, shaking his head at them.

"Sorry, sorry, sorry," He apologized quickly, "I just -- It's just -- Reality's been a bit hard to get a grip on for me very recently. Sorry if I scared you."

"I think I've seen worse, Walt." Sanade unflinchingly, as if expecting this reaction from him, patted his shoulder, as if he hadn't been a threat to her life just a moment ago. "You really need to see someone of expertise in this area. I’m not a very good choice, but…” Sanade grasped his hand and opened her handkerchief above it, letting the treat fall into his palm, “you should probably dispose of this first. It’s not polite, littering on the floor of a place you’re not living in.” Her eyes showed no emotion, devoid of any expression except for a dull one. Her words, however, were sharp, intruding and straight to the point, careless of what they said, but Sanade said them as if she intended to, deliberate and seemingly thought over for a long period of time.

“You mentioned Japan without questioning. Have you….recovered your memories?”

Kolliah nearly moped, but, atleast it ended as soon as it started. "Walter, you have to remember not to listen to that other voice." She stated, almost lecturing him. "If so, you're only going to become what you fear."

Drianne fumbled. She took the plate back into her eyes, tightly, and forced herself to look back up at Walter. "N-No... It's okay... " She spat out, her words quivering just as much as her hands still were.

Walt looked between Sanade and Drianne while listening to Kolliah. Sanade asked him if he recovered his memories, and Drianne, the poor girl, was now shaking in terror. He must have scared her that badly, huh? Well, that was no good. He had to gain better control of himself. Like Kolliah said, he had to remember not to listen to the other voice.

But how could he not listen when it was right there in his head, demanding so much from him? Scaring him? Using his own thoughts and feelings against him? And the worst part was, Walter knew the voice wasn't some evil, malevolent force. It didn't even exist. It was just himself. He was just talking to himself in his head, and to blame a "voice" of any sort was just wrong. Completely incorrect. He couldn't justify it -- He was just a complete and total psychopath. That was that. And it was all because he got his memories back, wasn't it? That made everything worse.

He looked over at Drianne.

"I'm sorry if I scared you," He apologized sadly, "Friends don't scare friends, right?"

"Yes, by the way." He turned and finally answered Sanade, "My memories are back, and that's all swell and dandy. Really, though, if you've seen worse, Sanade, I feel quite sorry for you. I can't imagine anything worse than a mutated loony going for your throat. Maybe a mutated loony with a gun."

“Mutant, huh?” Sanade tried to smile, but her lips twisted into a mix between a sneer and a smirk, unintentional this time. She was jarred, but not thoroughly disturbed by Walt’s sudden snap at both her and Drianne. Sanade couldn’t blame Walt anyway. If he had known what she was doing and how barefaced her lie was, he’d be trying to gut her as well. As for now, however, Sanade tried to play a neutral, if not friendly role, though that would be hard, considering her twisted expression right now, looking ever ready to stab the loving shit out of Walt given any chance. So much that the words that escaped her lips were scarily unfitting. “You know, Walt, you’re not too bad. I mean, I’d be paranoid of some newcomer from another version of your Earth as well if I didn’t know him or her well enough.” She patted his shoulder reassuringly, the act contrasting to her wicked expression. “You’re not too mutant to me, as well. You’re kinda normal. As far as normal can go with someone with claws and cat stuff going on. In Japan, this would have led you to be flocked by millions of fangirls immediately.”

Drianne stumbled back, looking over her shoulder, driving the front of her sandal into the floor. "Y-Yeah... They don't... It's okay, Walter..." If she hadn't been so forgiving, she would have just bolted from the area and ran to her room. She would have to ask Chrysaorus about him later, which reminded her that she didn't know where she was right at that moment.

"If you'll excuse me, I'm going to ask the cooks for baking advice..." Drianne mumbled quietly. She stepped forward, one foot in front of the other, until she was making a steady walk away with the tray of remaining biscuits in her hands.

"Fangirls, hmm?" Kolliah wondered about Sanade's statement as she watched Drianne head off to the kitchen. "What's that about? Can you ask her?~"

Walter was thoroughly disturbed by the inconsistency with Sanade's expression and the words that came out of her mouth. So she was fine with him, despite looking like she wanted to kill him. It was odd, though he wondered if this was what he, himself, looked like to everyone else. In an odd way, this gave Walter something he could relate to with Sanade. That, and the whole Earth thing.

Drianne seemed thoroughly freaked out, by either him, Sanade or both, he wasn't sure, though he felt incredibly bad about it still. Walt liked children. He sometimes found them easier to talk to than adults.

And then Kolliah asked her question, and Walter sighed.

"Kolli -- I - I! I was wondering what, uh, what you meant by fangirls. What that's about. Heh." He grinned at her awkwardly. He felt like an idiot, asking such a question -- But it was truly idiotic to deny a goddess something if she asks for it.

Sanade narrowed her eyes ever so slightly, but with a tap of a finger on her glasses, the questioning squint was gone. She stepped to one side, allowing a flustered Drianne to scamper away with a half-assed excuse, the little mouse obviously uncomfortable in the presence of a madman and...an odd stranger. These two describing ohrases could have easily been switched between both her and Walter and no one would even notice the difference, especially given her current disposition. The mouse didn't deserve to be this frightened. Sanade made up her mind to approach her later to make up for this event. Kids were only jist harder to manipulate for their overbearing adorableness.

"I meant what I meant." was Sanade's simple answer as she continued to look on at the empty hallway as Drianne vanished from sight to the kitchen. "Your wiles, looks and your..." Sanade scratched her head, looking for a certain word, "cat-ty additions for a cute factor really attract the horde. Cats are really popular, for some inexplicable reason. Can't stand them, though." Sanade's voice lowered into a mutter. "Unleashable, intelligent beings with their goddamn all-seeing eyes and nine lives and bloody frickin'...."

((Does that one count or))

"Ah! So an animal has a popularity over on this Earth place? Oh, that's so cool!" Kolliah squealed enthusiastically. "To mean that certain animals are liked more than others, ooh, I have an idea! Maybe some celebration for an animal, yes! I will talk to Chrysaorus about it, and--" Kolliah stopped herself there, realizing that she was getting ahead of herself. Her face, flushed.

"Aah, I really should stop getting excited like this. But, Walter, I would like to know more about Earth customs!"

Walter listened to Sanade and laughed a little when certain words were used. She was an interesting one wasn't she? She was. Was it the voice who told him that? No, no this time it was just himself --

She'd be more interesting splattered all over the wall --

No! No, shut up, shut up, shut up. He couldn't listen to that thing. He couldn't listen. He tried keeping a straight face, though the struggle, while faint, could still be caught in his eyes.

"So you hate cats, but you think I'm attractive?" He asked with a small laugh. Kolliah asked her question, and once again, we was forced to look like he was insane (well, more than he already was) in front of this woman. He spoke under his breath, hoping Sanade would somehow not notice.

"I don't know as much as I should -- I can answer what I can though, and maybe ask Todd what I couldn't?"

(It half-counts?)

Where the hell did that come from? Why would she, Sanade Nishijima, think of an exhibitionist to be attractive? Of course, he had quote the interesting follicle texture and the impressive build that should only exist within the pages of magazines displaying bishonen and their daily habits, for all of their rabid fans to see and slobber all over the pages, sometimes to perform other questionable acts upon these pages. Not very often, but occasionally, Sanade had chanced upon such magazines with their pages stuck. She shuddered to even think about it then and shuddered now as well to think about thinking of them.

"Well, you're not exactly a cat. You're a cat person. You have less of the mental capacity of a feline genius from the existence of your humanity alone. Fallible, weak, underprepared, that's what our genes say of us. You lucked out with this," Sanade waved her hands at Walt's entire physique, "and got one of the better parts of the lottery. Meanwhile, we, the sorrowful mortals get stuck with average jumping height, average hearing, and...no claws." Sanade raised both her hands and pushed her glasses up and drew herself closer to the cat-man, her facial expression bearing resemblance to a curator studying a new fossil. "If only...I could get some of your blood...." she muttered, almost unheard.

Kolliah nodded understandingly of Sanade's explanation. "That's what I was trying to say earlier, Walt..." She mumbled quietly as she spoke. Though, she suddenly got nervous from the "blood" part. "... Pardon...?"

((Well then. Niche-Glasses Counter: 13 1/2

HERE'S THE WORST POST EVER AND I CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE.))

Walter listened to Sanade once more, curious about her response to him. Did she just call him an idiot? Not nice, though if she really thought cats were superior to people...

"You're a funny one, Sanade." He told her with a grin, "And you're also incorrect. Cats only think they're better than people. The truth is, they're lying to themselves. Cats, hah. What do they have --" He got out his claws and held them up for her to see, "-- These? And teeth." He grinned a bit wider, revealing inhumanly long canine teeth.

"But that's all they have. We have science, we have critical thinking, we have math -- All they know how to do is eat and sleep. Cats are all just a bunch of stupid drama queens." His grin turned into a smirk, "And while there are many humans who are like that as well, rest assured, I am not one of them. Now, as for your blood sample --"

With one of his claws, he slashed his opposite hand in front of Sanade and then slammed it against the wall, sliding it down and leaving a long blood stain.

"Enjoy." He told her, before walking off.

~

In Chrysaorus's room, Todd continued to sit and wait for the queen to finish resting. She was beautiful when she slept. He didn't have a problem with watching her at all. He just hoped that if she knew he was staying and watching her the entire time, she didn't think of him as creepy.

He regretted not swiping the first Harry Potter book while he had the chance. It would have been nice to reread the thing while he waited.

Sanade barely reacted, and instead pulled out her handkerchief and wiped away the blood stain, collecting the red upon the cloth. She looked at it with a queer expression, one between disgust, surprise and odd cheeriness, before pocketing the cloth. She looked on as Walter strode away and gave a shot chuckle, and melted away from vision and back into her own quarters. The door shut and naught else was heard from within but the turning of tumblers.

(Short post. I hurt my arm. Can't type good.)

Kolliah didn't quite understand the talk about inferior species and such. Nor did she care much about it. Besides the fact that she could make a festival out of it. But that wasn't, for the most part, what it was about. She let her temporarily shortened gaze wander... Until she heard a slam on the wall.

She jumped up in floating place and immediately turned to the source of the noise, to see Walter rubbing a trail of blood onto the wall from his arm. She screamed, "No Walter don't do that!" And followed him down the hall, becoming increasingly worried. His behavior was scaring her, and she begin having doubts of the whole problem being fixed soon.

--

Momentarily, as Chrysaorus slept, she opened one eye to look around the room. She saw Todd was still there, which surprised her for a while until she remembered what he had stated before she slept. "Oh, you're still here?" She asked, smiling.

"I really appreciate the company. I hope you don't find it boring to watch a lady sleep."

Walter held his hand, where he'd cut himself, and clenched his teeth as a way to help cope with the pain. Kolliah had begged him not to. He defied a goddess. He wondered if there would be a punishment for that sort of thing. That thought, along with the agony burning through his hand, caused Walt to cackle gleefully. It was a mad howl of laughter, which soon died in his throat.

"Come on," He attempted to reason with Kolliah -- though his voice had turned into Death's Shadow's bubbling hiss, "Come on now, I didn't hurt anyone. Just myself. That was a perfectly acceptable thing to do. Besides, Sanade wanted that. Heh."

He kept walking to Todd's room, wherever that may be.

~

Chrysaorus had woken up, and even told Todd she hoped she didn't bore him.

"The quiet was nice. A good break." Todd admitted, "It's fun to watch you sleep, anyway. There's a peacefulness to you when you're not awake. A calm."

He smiled back at her.

Kolliah frowned. "No, it's not acceptable, Walter! Just listen to yourself, you know that you're in pain." She looked over his arm, already noticing the grimace on her face. "It wasn't necessary. Even though you may be thinking for others, and she did want it..." She let herself trail off a bit, which ended up with her sighing and resuming her somewhat-subtle lecture. "She didn't need it to live. It wouldn't be very useable either. It's not worth your own pain."

"...Also, where are you going?"

--

"Oh? Really?" She closed her eye and faced the cieling. "It sounds a bit far-fetched. But an acceptable answer, nonetheless. Quite sweet..."

She turned to face the wall opposite from Todd. "I feel alright for now. Should I get up?" She asked.

((I hope you don't mind me postiiiing))

((I do nooot ~))

Walter frowned when Kolliah lectured him. He squeezed his hand a bit and felt the blood poke through the gaps between his fingers. While his hand was shaking a bit from the pain, his other hand stayed on the wound with Walter enjoying the flow of warm blood against it.

Then Kolliah asked where he was going.

"I'm going to go see Todd." Walter told the goddess, "I'd like to talk to him."

~

Todd blushed a little when Chrysaorus told him his actions were "sweet". It was nice that she thought so -- Better than nice, actually.

"You should get up if you feel like you can." Todd told the queen to answer her question.

Kolliah blinked. "Todd?" She looked around the hallway. "You're going the wrong way, I believe. He is upstairs. Not in his room. He is with Chrysaorus..."

Yes, Chrysaorus was waking up again. She could heal him if he got there. She only wondered if he would let her.

--

"I feel alright, as I had stated. So, I guess it is okay." Chrysaorus reached out for the end of the bed and pulled herself onto her butt. She raised her arms into the air to stretch them out, then put them back down on the bed. "Did anyone enter while I was asleep?" She asked.

"With Chrysaorus?" Walter asked, then scoffed, "The queeny? Oh of course he is. I'm sure he's having a jolly good time with, with, with -- Oh, bugger, I can't say anything nasty about her, can I? She did restore my memories and --" Then his face lit up.

"-- And drove me insane in the process! More insane than I was before I mean! That crazy-causing b****!"

Walter clapped his hands excitedly, happy to still have something to hold against Chrysaorus. He was not spiteful of her, not anymore, though he was a bit jealous about her and Todd. No doubt he'd spend more time with her and less time with him. What would Walter do if Todd abandoned him entirely? He had no friends. Walter hated the thought of being alone again.

~

Todd shook his head at Chrysaorus.

"No ma'am, not one person came in here." He informed her. And then there was a knock on the door. Todd shrugged at the queen, then opened for whoever may be on the other side.

"Was I interrupting something?" A servant with long, slicked back hair and a chin beard asked. Todd found this man familiar, but couldn't understand why.

"Uh, no," He answered, "Have we met?" Todd asked. The servant gave Todd a toothy grin.

"No, sir. You may be mistaking me for someone else."

"Walter, that's just plain silly! You're making up excuses to hate her. You wanted to get your memories back in the first place knowing the consequences. This isn't about Chrysaorus, is it?" She looked over his shoulder. She wanted to peer into his thoughts, but she wouldn't do so without permission.

--

Chrysaorus looked over at the figure who had knocked on the door from her place on the bed. She knew almost all of her servants, if you counted the new ones. But she couldn't quite get a good look at him, so she only supposed who it was from his voice. "Aaron? Is that you? What do you need?"
