Luna smiled. They had finished, and Luna waved her wand, then the dished began washing themselves. She stood, and spoke to Aislynn. "Aislynn." she said, pausing slightly "I am going out into the gardens to play some music. Perhaps you could meet me there, after your done organizing? Do you play any instruments. . . or sing?" she added, hoping she hadn't seemed condescending. If she doesn't play, or sing, I hope it doesn't seem awkward. I wonder if she is like Lily, not playing anything, and only singing to today's modern music?

"uhmm...." Aislinn looked at Luna for several seconds. "I have never played any instruments in my life though I have always wanted to try out to play guitar. I don't think I have that great voice since I have never tried singing...." she replied. "I only listen to music, sometimes metal, though mostly symphony metal..." She looked at Luna wondered if she understood what she meant. "You know.. it's like a mixture of opera and screamy music, though it can also be serene kind of music....." she laughed. "I'll open the windows to my room while I’m organizing, and then I'll come down later" she smiled and left.

"Oh." Luna said, "I'm sorry." I really thought she would at least sing. "That would be nice." she said "I will see you later." she smiled. She walked outside, to where Nagini was just finishing her meat. She used smoke to transport them both to the center of the labyrinth, and she began playing her lovely music. The usual self-playing piano remained at her side, as she played music similar to the lovely harmonious music she and Elias had played the previous day.

Aislinn looked through the book she had borrowed by Luna. She tried out some spells and found it a relief that she could use magic to organize her closet. She finished it faster than she would usually have if she had tried to fold and hang all her clothes without magic instead. A beautiful and serene music could be heard from the midst of the labyrinth. Such lovely music...it is like.....sigh...it is like Luna is trying to express her feelings and sentiments through the music...does she knows that Blaise is buried there? There's a memorial stone with his name scripted placed above his grave in the center of the labyrinth... Aislinn thought as she closed her windows. She went outside and strode to the center of the labyrinth. She sat down at the ground and rested her back against the hedge, watching Luna play the beautiful music.

Meanwhile

Elias had no time to take any break during the day because of Miss Blanc who earlier had almost wasted one hour of his valuable time thus he stayed in his office to eat lunch as well as to continue with his work at the same time. He rather wanted to be home earlier than late. He opened the package of lunch which Luna had prepared for him.
This smell so good...oh..it's my favorite kind of meal for lunch, how did she knew?...hehe this is the second time she surprises me....

Luna nodded to Aislynn as she entered, and kept playing throughout the afternoon. At one point, Luna took a break, saying that she would be right back before vanishing into smoke. She appeared a minute later with a mug of hot chocolate, which she had a special recipe for, and turned out heavenly every time. She handed the mug to Aislynn, and kept playing. At around six, she imagined a chair, and one appeared beside the one that Aislynn was seated on. She laid her head back, breathing in the fresh air as Nagini lay next to her. "My thanks to you, Aislynn. I hope you enjoyed the music. I regret not being able to enjoy your kind of music. . . it makes me nervous to listen to it. Classical has some soothing qualities, so that it why I adore it. I do hope I didn't bore you." she smiled.

"It was so serene..." Aislinn replied with a smile. "I listen to this kind, almost, though what I mostly listen to is actually mixed with guitars hehehe, " she laughed. "It was beautiful..." she looked up at the sky. I should get moving soon...I cannot stay indoors day in and day out....hopefully Mr. D'Arcy has forgotten me...he is not a human but a vampire..a creature, another being, a kind of living dead...he cannot have the same intelligence as a human thus I assume that he has forgotten me and found other human girls to amuse himself with...and Sherwood....Sherwood will never notice me as long as I walk around hooded.....well just two more weeks...I'll allow myself two more weeks of laziness before I check at the post office....

Luna left, ate dinner, washed, and lay down to rest. . .

Luna stood in a grassy field, alone. A salty breeze could be felt as she sun set, illuminating the ocean. It was a breathtaking sight, and she couldn't help but gaze in awe at her surroundings. All at once, the scenery changed, and it became a moonless night, with no stars. She was no longer in a field, but near a cliff, and the only sounds where the waves splashing dangerously below, brushing up against the sharp rocks that lay at the bottom of a long fall. She turned to walk away from the eerie sight, but her father appeared in her way, similar to the way Aaron materialized. She stopped, and he smiled, then spoke in a soft voice.

"It was been a while." he said.
"I am aware." Luna said coldly, though she couldn't help feeling intimidated by him.
"Why have you wasted so much time? By now, you could have taken over the Wizarding world. " he said, throwing in tones of disappointment.
"I am not sure I still want to." she said, struggling to keep her cold and emotionless tone. "After all, I do not wish to end up like you."
His smiled turned into a smirk, and he continued. "I know you have suppressed your wishes to rule the Wizarding world. Tell me, did it feel good for you to kill Potter's friends?"
Luna was going to object, but she realized she couldn't. Her eyes widened as she realized. . . "It did." she said fearfully. "That is why I mustn't continue down this path. "
"You do not have a choice." he said coldly. "It is your destiny to turn out this way. But, unlike me, you shall succeed. "
"I won't. I will do everything I can to resist."
"It is inevitable. Eventually, you will welcome it. You don't even know your true powers. If only you would just-"
"No." she said.
In a flash, she was closer to the edge of the cliff, and he was advancing until she could no longer step back.
"Choose now. Do you wish to die like this, or continue, and embrace your destiny?" There was not a drop of compassion in his voice. It was clear that he would push her if she didn't give him the right answer.
"No." she said, and she fell, lower and lower until she broke her back on the sharp rocks, showering them in blood.

Luna awoke abruptly, having fallen off the bed. She struggled to untangle the blankets surrounding her, and then stood. Her breathing was heavy, and her heart was racing.

"I. . . " Luna said as she overcame the shock.
"I know." Nagini said, looking into her eyes compassionately. "I felt it as well. "
After Luna calmed down, she spoke to Nagini.
"I admit, I do wish to rule the Wizarding and Muggle worlds. However, I do not want to achieve it by instilling fear, and mass murdering bot Muggles and Wizards. I will get what I want, just not his way. Now-" she walked to the bathroom."I am going to start the first phase of my plan. "

Luna got ready, then pulled out her disguise mirror. She took the form of Hermione Granger, and then made her way to the bedroom in which Potter's children where kept. She opened the door magically, and greeted the children, who where washed and taking about their father again.

"Hello, children!" she said in a 'I'm so relieved to see you' tone.
"Auntie Hermione!" Lily said cheerfully as she rushed to embrace her. "You've come to take us-"
"No." Albus said bravely, blocking Lily. "We have to make sure it really is her first. "
"Right." James said. "Try something personal that she would know. " he whispered to Albus.
He stepped forward, and spoke seriously. "My father offered me the last thing he had from his mother to me as a gift when I was having trouble...his baby blanket. I objected, and we fought. As a result, a potion was spilled onto the blanket. What kind of potion was it?"

What a relief. I heard him discussing a similar scenario with a friend at the Auror Office. It was..."Love potion, my dear Albus." Luna replied, embracing him in her disguised form.
"It is her!" James said, rushing in with Lily for a hug.
"Now-" Luna said, turning very serious. "You're father has struck a terrible deal with Miss. Lestrange. For the time being-" she said sadly "I can only rescue one of you."
"Father would never make such a deal!" Albus said, outraged.
"Is this a joke, Auntie?" Lily said fearfully.
"No. Miss Lestrange got him off on a technicality. I promise-" she looked into each of their eyes individually "I will come back for you. But, for now, only one of you can leave. Please choose quickly, Miss Lestrange won't be gone for long. "
"Something isn't right." James said, turning to the others. They whispered amongst themselves for a moment, the James turned around. "You're not Hermione." he said "She always says 'Voldemort's Daughter', because fear of a name only increases fear of-"
"What a smart child you are, James." Luna said darkly. The children backed away, and she revealed herself.
"How dare you!" James said, charging at her angrily "How dare you impersonate our Aunt!"
Albus stopped him, but Lily walked forward quietly, toward Miss Lestrange.
"I know you are a bad person." she said "But you don't seem as bad as your Dad."
Luna crouched down so that they were at the same eye-level "How can you tell?"
"Because you haven't hurt us, just kept us here with good food and clean clothes. My father says your Dad didn't care about age, he would kill us if he got the chance. "
"Thank you, Lily." Luna said. "However, you have made me change my mind. "
She stood, and held up a hand to stop James and Albus arguing.
"James and Lily will be coming with me." she said. "Come quietly. "

They children where reluctant to say their goodbyes, but they knew she wouldn't hesitate to stun them in order to take them. Lily and James stepped forward, and followed her out into the hall. She locked the door to the bedroom, and pocketed the key. She wiped their memories of the past few moments, then disguised herself as her fake Auror identity as they recovered. She told them they where being rescues, and where unable to save Albus, then took the children't hands, disappearing in smoke. She went to the Ministry through the Muggle entrance, and was greeted by several guards as soon as they recognized the missing children. They where taken to their father, and Luna got to watch his face as they where reunited, only to fall again once he realized his third child was still missing. He then turned to Luna, and didn't hesitate to hug her whilst thanking her numerous times. Later, she was questioned, and she told the sad story of how she had barely escaped with the two children. As she was escaping, the 'Dark Mistress wiped her memory of the Manor's coordinates as her last defense. She was then thanked by all, even by Harry's children. She was given a spacious office, and an award for Bravery after the interview with a news reporter.

"You are my new best friend. I cannot thank you enough." Harry said one last time.
"The only thanks I need is in knowing I have reunited two children to their father. However, I would not have been able to save them without the help of Aislynn Monroe, who bravely sacrificed herself in order for us to escape." she told the reporter. Hermione and Harry escorted her away from the reporters, into Harry's large office.

"Is there any way we can repay you, Eve?" Hermione said.
"No." Luna replied politely.
"I've never heard of Blackwood before. It must be foreign?"
"Yes, I was educated at Beauxbatons, but my parents were British, that is why my accent isn't French. "
"We are everlastingly grateful. "
"Good bye." Luna said.
I've got them right where I want them. They now trust me to the point that they will believe my lies without hesitation.

Two weeks passed away as usual and Aislinn had no idea what had been happening in the wizarding world during the time she had been keeping herself indoors. She was feeling tired of staying indoors day in and day out and decided to leave one early afternoon. She dressed as usual, pure black, muggle clothing, with a hood and ate a quick lunch consisting of a cup of cold chocolate drink and two buttered toasts. She had not seen Luna since the last time they were in the labyrinth. She stepped outside and apparated just outside the entrance of Diagon Alley.

Aislinn sneaked inside, carefully hooded because she did not want Sherwood to see her. Her pendant was dangling around her neck, hidden behind her sweater, and her pockets filled with garlic. She had not seen Sherwood since the gala, and she did not want to see him. She wondered if he remembered anything from the gala. Because his mind was manipulated by Rosa, he had almost lost control over his own actions when he had seen her there. And a certain incident had occurred back then. Aislinn had no idea about what happened after he and an unknown lady had been transported away thanks to the portkey which was secretly attached to his apparel. She was curious of course about what the incident might have resulted.

Aislinn quickly made her way to the post office to check if she had received any letters. She picked up a Daily Prophet first to check the news, but there were nothing of interest.

"You should have read the news two weeks ago.." a man nearby spoke. " Two heroines rescued Mr. Harry Potter's children from the daughter of the one who must not be named..."

What..... Aislinn froze at her place, wondering what had been going on while she had been indoors. Impossible...I have been inside the manor all the time and Potter's children has been there as well, if intruders had tried to break in...then both I, Luna and Nagini would have noticed...

"....Eve Blackwood and Aislinn Monroe..." the man continued and told a whole story of what he had read in the Daily Prophet, but Aislinn was not listening anymore. She had went inside the post office. I'll ask Luna about it when I’m back home...

Aislinn sighed when she saw the pile of letters which had been awaiting her since the last time, she checked in at the post office. Only three of the letters were of importance. One was by the Ministry of Magic and the two others were by P.O. The first letter, which was dated two weeks ago, was praising her for her bravery of helping Miss Eve Blackwood with rescuing Mr. James Sirius Potter and Miss Lily Luna Potter. The letter was also informing her about that she was welcomed to join as an auror at the Ministry of Magic and that they waited her to be in service within a month. The letter was written by Mr. Harry Potter himself. Huuhh Merlin's beard..and I did not need to lift a finger to do anything to receive this hehehe.... Aislinn bit her lower lip to avoid burst out in laughter as she wrote a reply to Mr. Harry Potter.

She read the two other letters with a bored expression. The first one was informing about a meeting which the P.O. and D.A. had on Monday the previous week. The letter was also praising her for her bravery. Aislinn was supposed to attend the meeting, but she had missed it. The second letter was written two days after the meeting. They were wondering where she had been at. The magical pendant told Aislinn to reply with an excuse that after the rescue of the Potter's children she had caught a cold and been ill for two weeks. It is so easy to lie in letters. She thought, biting her lower lip to not to burst out in laughter while scribbling the reply to P.O.

The rest of the letters, Aislinn lost her count on how many they were as she tried to count them, were by Sherwood. Her first decision was about to throw them all and ignore to read them, but she changed her mind as she was to curious about their contents. I'll regret so badly if I just throw his letters without reading them and besides, I might be better prepared if I encounter with him later. I have actually planned to see him in order to complete my plan how he failed to date me heheheh, but later and not now.. Aislinn read all the letters by Sherwood, also with a bored expression. She yawned when she went through about ten letters. There were still more. Seriously, I’m getting less on his stupid letters..it's only the same message in every one of them....sigh...asking me when we could meet, that he needs to see me, needs to talk with me...Her pendant gave her two kind of solutions. She could either reply Sherwood with the same excuse which she used to reply P.O. to explain why she had been absence at their meeting or she could ignore to reply him. She chose the second solution.

When Aislinn was done with her business at the post office, she left Diagon Alley and went inside Knockturn Alley where she felt safe. The haven for all the deatheaters. She sighed with relief and took of her hood. She looked at her blurry mirror image at a gloomy and dirty window of a mysterious shop. Her hair had grown several inches since the gala. She had visited the hair parlor before the party to get her hair styled. The hair dresser had used hair potion to make her short hair to grow almost down to her waist, fast in the short amount of time to be able to make an elegant hair up-do. This is too long and annoying me. The only good hair parlor can be found in Diagon Alley, but I don't want to be surprised by Sherwood. Muggle hair parlors are not that good as I am used to have my hair done with magic. But even if they are good, Sherwood might surprise me there as well since he lives in a muggle area. And the hair parlor in Knockturn Alley disgusts me, it's like a pigsty there. It would to laughable if I tried to sit with my hood on and have my hair done in the hair parlor in Diagon Alley or perhaps I should wear a mask?...Shades? hmm...

"Long time no see sweetheart," a familiar creepy voice suddenly spoke behind Aislinn, interrupting her in her thoughts.

Aislinn turned around, chocked and scared to see Vincent D'Arcy all of sudden. Don't show him your fear..

This time he was dressed differently, with less lace though still elegant and dark. His hair was down and loose, hiding his pointy ears. I have been dodging Diagon Alley in more than two weeks and hidden carefully under my hood today to avoid running into Sherwood and now D'Arcy shows up in Knockturn Alley where I thought I was safe from anyone...seriously, and I who thought that he might have forgotten me after the gala..but Merlin's beard, he still remembers me..

"Care to take a drink with me this beautiful afternoon?" he asked charmingly. She is still as cute as she was at the gala.... He smiled wryly, his right fang glinting dangerously.

Drink? what drink? Sounds rather that he wants to drink my own blood... Aislinn thought, feeling the panic rising within her. Her mind was working incredibly fast thanks to the pendant. She put her hand into her right pocket and picked up some garlic. She hated the herb thus she did not see it as a waste when she lunged it right on his face.
"OH BOOH BE GONE!" She yelled with a shrill voice as she turned on her heels and foolishly ran away, forgetting that she could have easily apparated home, because her panic had taken over her mind completely. She did not look where she was running but let her feet lead the way. She slowed down after a while and looked around at her surroundings. She did not recognize were she was. As she had run away from Mr. D’Arcy, she had suddenly turned to an unknown left side alley and went too far into it that she was feeling lost. She looked behind her, then looked in front of her, wondering where she was. Well I'll just apparate away...
She was suddenly interrupted by a rough and coarse voice which spoke behind her:
"Feel lost Missy? hehehe..."
Aislinn turned around and faced a man who was looking weird and creepy. There's something strange about him..he looks like a human, but still I have a feeling that he is not, his face is to hairy in comparison with a human...it's like hair all over his face.....Merlin's beard...it's a werewolf....I need to distract him in order to buy myself time to apparate away without haste. If I rush with my apparition now I might risk splinching myself.

The werewolf looked savoring at her as he slowly walked up to her. For each step he took forward, Aislinn took a step backward. She put her hand in her left pocket this time and picked up the remaining garlic she had. She threw it at the werewolf's face, buying herself time to pick out her wand. The garlic had no effect of course but only angered him. She fired a spell, blasting him away, which of course angered him much more. But instead of apparating, she turned on her heels and run away in the opposite direction. I need to be farther away from him before apparating away.. She slipped on the slippery cobbled ground and fell down, dropping her wand and ripping off part of her trousers and getting a moderate deep cut in her right knee. She rushed up to her feet, her knee was hurting so bad, but she tried to ignore the pain. She could hardly focus on anything now as the sound of the heavy footsteps behind her was panicking her which in return made her scream madly. She had barely taken a few steps when she suddenly run into someone whom was the last person she wished to see.

"My prey...that's mine...myyy..." the werewolf growled from behind.
"She is mine!" Mr. D'Arcy snarled as he enclosed Aislinn in his embrace, hiding her within his cloak. "You dare put a finger on her..."
Merlin's hairy chest..a vampire and a werewolf are quarrelling about me....if my life was not being on a stake as now I would have been laughing...I wonder what fate is the worst..having my blood devoured by a vampire or being savored by a werewolf? well it does not matter...I’m as good as dead..Something warm was flowing down from her wounded knee. Perfect, I’m bleeding at the right time in the right place...She thought sarcastically.
"She run into my nest and hurt me by throwing things at my face and knocking me off. She deserves a punishme-"
"Silence or I'll cease you for good. You don't wish to fight me, do you?"
The werewolf growled dangerously. Aislinn almost hold her breath. If they start to fight, I might get a chance to run away from them both and apparate away... But to her surprise the werewolf muttered something inaudible, turned on his heels and walked away.

Mr. D'Arcy walked away with Aislinn in his grasp in the opposite direction. She was feeling very foolish, wondering why she did not apparate right away immediately after she had thrown the garlic at him. My problem is that I always act in panic without thinking... When he had escorted her to safety in Knockturn Alley he released her and crouched down to tie his handkerchief around her wounded knee.
"I’m sorry, but I do not have the powers to heal you, though I hope you'll be allright with this?" He spoke gently as he looked up at her.
"I’m fine, I can still walk right, I’m not dying, really. I'll just have myself patched up at St. Mungo’s," Aislinn snapped but then bit her lower lip. I should actually thank him..

Mr. D'Arcy looked offended but smoothed out his facial expression as he stood up and took a firm grasp of her right arm and left hand-wrist before she could protest and led her away.
"Whe-re a..are you tak-ing me?" Aislinn stuttered, feeling the panic rising within her once more as she tried to free herself. I must stay calm... His grasp hardened.
"My...my...my wand...I dropped it....my wand.." She sobbed. She could not help but cry.
He sighed as he stopped in his tracks. He let go of her right arm, but not her left wrist which he was holding very firmly. With his other free hand, he produced a familiar wand from the inside of his cloak. He held the wand in front of her, close enough for her to see and recognize it as her own yet still far away from her reach to grab it.
"Give it back to me, give it back to me..." She pleaded with a shrill voice, trying to get free at the same time as she was trying to fetch her wand. He hid the wand within his cloak and took a firm grip of her right arm once more.
"You'll have your wand back, but first we need to talk," He replied calmly.
"Ttte...tatata..talk about what? What do you...do you want?"
"Not here please.."
He escorted her out of Knockturn Alley, passed an old cemetery and ruins, the same surroundings where she had been taking Sherwood to before the gala. The same ruins which she had been visiting a lot before the gala. During the daytime the environment looked less gloomy and melancholy.
"You...you are able to walk in daylight? How is that ppp..possible?" Aislinn tried to ask as calmly as she could, but she was still stuttering on the words. She was trying to distract Mr. D'Arcy as well as she was curious about his magical powers. If I only know his powers then it would be easier to kill him..

He remained silent and did not even glance at her as he turned towards the cemetery.
"Ahh so so you...you're taking me to your filthy grave to feast on my bloo-..." Aislinn commented mockingly but did not finish her words as he hardened his grasp even more that she almost lost her breath because of the pain he caused her. He stopped in the middle of the graveyard and looked annoyingly at her.
"I. Am. Not. Interested. In. Your. Blood." He said between gritted teeth, showing his fangs, beautifully white yet dangerously sharp. She could not help but laugh hollowly. She was unaware of the salty tears rolling down her cheeks.
"Dadada..That's interesting...and I who thought vampires' nourishment was human blood..you know, Mr. D'Arcy...it is what they....what professor Bbbee..Blake taught us...you drink our bloo-"

Mr. D'Arcy lost his patience. He slapped Aislinn's face so hard that her nose started to bleed though this time she remained silent, feeling to shocked to speak any word anymore. He forced her to walk once more. They passed the graves and left the cemetery behind them as they continued forward into a dark forest. To her surprise they left the forest behind them. Perhaps not all the vampires lives in forests like the ones who resides the Black Forest? A dark manor rose up solemnly in front of them. Strangely, I’m feeling calm, like I’m feeling home. Normally I should feel the fear and panic rise within me now. Did the pain and shock overtake my feelings? I doubt it..perhaps the thought of death has soothed me? But my guts are telling me the contrary, something which I can't put my finger on...but what if, what if he is about to kill me inside that place to store my blood there?...Scream Aislinn, scream. And she screamed as she was trying, with all her might and force, to free herself from his grasp.

Luna kept busy the next two weeks, supplying as many false leads as she could. It aggravated everyone, but they believed her when she said she didn't mean it, pointing out that they made as many mistakes as she did. She wrote a letter to Aislynn explaining the situation, and why she had praised her as well. It also explained that she was Eve Blackwood. It was waiting for her on the door of her room at the manor. During those few weeks, she barely saw Elias. However, she wanted to meet with him, and explain why she had done everything she had. So, after work, she sent him a patronus message, inviting him to Slythering Serpents in Knockturn Alley. She sat down at one of the tables by the window, and sent his the message:

Good evening, Elias. I wish to meet with you at that lovely restaurant in Knockturn Alley. I await your arrival. I will assume you do not wish to dine with me if you do not arrive by seven.

Luna used her disguise to dress up nicely, and spent the evening explaining everything to Elias. She didn't spare any details, and he mostly listened. After she was done, he shared his thoughts with her.

"Vincent..did I not ask you to bring her with care and unharmed?" Lady Monroe asked calmly yet with an undertone of anger in her voice.
"Auntie I can expla-"
"Silence! Just what have you done to her!!" She roared. "I'll do anything in my power to fulfil your wish." She mimicked him. "tsk tsk...making promises to me but never be able to keep them...tsk tsk..."
Aislinn was sitting awkwardly still in a couch in a dark parlor where all the curtains were drawn to keep out the sunlight. A very old vampire lady who earlier, had introduced herself as Aislinn's grand-mother, Lady Victoria Monroe, was sitting beside her, holding her in a tender and loving embrace, like a mother protecting and comforting her child. Aislinn was to shocked and astonished to cry while the old lady still wept silently after that she had been crying hysterically of the shock, she had encountered earlier.
"What have you done to her?"
"Nothing, absolutely nothing. When I met her in Knockturn Alley, I was very polite to her, but she threw garlic at me!"
Everyone else, Lady Monroe and four other vampires laughed. The right corner of Aislinn's mouth was twisting. She was unsure if it was allright if she laughed or not.
"Oh lord, garlic, hehehe.....polite huh? I doubt that."
"I just asked her for a drin-"
"Explain why you hurt her!"
"I did not harm her. She fell down the ground and thus she hurt her knee."
"Did you push her?! Oh lord, how..."
"I did not! She run into a werewolf and slipped on the ground as she was trying to escape him. I.."
"Do not cut me off! Now, I don't want to hear a story about how you saved her. Did she also hurt her nose when she fell?"
"No auntie, I slapped her face because I lost patience with her.."
"Get out!"
"Auntie..."
"I said get out from here, I don't want to see you!"

"eehhm," Aislinn squeaked nervously after that Vincent had left.
"My dear child.." Lady Monroe hugged her, caressing her head and smelled the lovely scent of her hair. She was still weeping. Aislinn switched awkwardly in her place. "I recognized you from the moment I saw you," Lady Monroe spoke as she released Aislinn. "You are so alike your mother" She picked up a photo from the coffee table, where she had placed a photo album and spread out more photos and put it into Aislinn's hand. "You have the same eyes, face and voice, I still remember Isabelle when your father introduced her to me," She smiled towards Aislinn.
"eehhmm," Aislinn squeaked again as she looked at the photo in her hand. Merlin's beard it's like looking at my own reflection in the mirror.. she thought as she stared at the woman in the picture. Part of the woman's face was burned badly. She was holding a baby in her arm and a man was standing beside her. Aislinn put the photo at the table.
"Eehhm I need.." She managed to stand up at her feet. Her voice was so hoarse because she had been screaming so much. I need to check this out, I need to find out the truth..I can not be related to vampires, it is impossible...unbelievable..
"Where are you going, my dear?" Lady Monroe asked her.
"Please, I need to visit the restroom." Aislinn lied as she made her way towards the doors of the parlor.
"Oh, let me show you were it is," Lady Monroe smiled as she hurried to walk in front of Aislinn, leading the way to the bathroom which was located at the second floor.
Aislinn went inside and closed the door behind her. The bathroom was very clean and actually bright since both the floor and walls were white in comparison with the parlor. There were no windows hence the light was coming from candles. Aislinn took a deep breath. She closed her eyes and apparated away.

A couple of hours later at St. Mungo’s
"Uhm..where do I check my blood?" Aislinn asked after her wounds had been healed and her hoarse voice had been cured.
"The seventh floor*," The healer replied. (*invented by me)
"Thanks,"
Aislinn took the stairs to the seventh floor, walking up slowly while wondering if she had been dreaming all the time. She pinched herself so hard that she could not help but grimace because of the pain she gave herself. Bloody hell, this is reality..
As soon as she reached the seventh floor she run into a healer.
"I want to have my blood checked, please"
"For what reason?"
"I think my blood is not clean."
"Oh, that is bad, have a creature bitten you? Then you need to go to the first floor.."
"No I have not been bitten, but I need to check my blood type.."
"Oh, I see, then come with me please..."
The healer, a young woman, in her mid-thirties showed Aislinn the way to her office and room where she met her patients for checking their blood types. Aislinn followed inside and sat down on a stool in front of the healer who closed the door quietly and took a seat in a more comfortable chair. She picked out her wand, asked Aislinn to roll up her right sleeve and stretched her arm towards her. Aislinn did as she was told and the healer started to work immediately.
"Miss, what is your name?" she asked after a while when she was done.
"Aislinn Monroe.."
"Miss Monroe, do you know your blood type?"
"I...I don't know..." I thought I knew before...
"Well, you are mixed."
"Mi-mi-mi....mixed??" The thought of being mixed made Aislinn wince. She was too astonished about the sudden information that she did not hear the sudden screams and loud voices down in the lower floors.

Mr. D'Arcy running around, causing panic and stress among the patients because he was looking for Aislinn, when it was found out that she had run away..

The healer rose up from her place, walked towards the door and opened it. She looked outside, wondering what was going on downstairs.
"Yes.." she replied Aislinn as she came back, forgetting to close the door this time. She sat down and looked sadly at her patient. She had noticed earlier how the girl had reacted earlier because of the news of being mixed. Will she be able to take it if I told her the truth... She looked at Aislinn for a while and then spoke after a moment of awkward silence: "..75 percent of your blood is human, of course pure wizard, while 25 percent is vampire blood.......Sir? what are you doing here? It is not appropriate for intruders, may be visitors or not, to enter while I check on my patients.."
"I came to see my cousin.."
"Get out!"

Vincent was standing outside in the corridor, resting his back against the wall, his arms folded, when Aislinn walked out from the room where the healer had checked her blood type. Their eyes met for seconds and then they both looked away. She already knew that he had heard what the healer had announced to her. ..75 percent of your blood is human, of course pure wizard, while 25 percent is vampire blood....
"uhmm," she mumbled, feeling very awkward, not really knowing what she wanted to say. All her fears towards him were gone and at the same time she was feeling very awkward. Cousins?... She walked away though she had only took a few steps when Vincent suddenly spoke quietly:
"Ashy.."
She stopped in her tracks. No one has ever called me Ashy, yet I feel so familiar with the nickname...like that someone had called me by that name before but in long forgotten memories.. She turned around. He was holding her wand, handing it to her. She remained silent as she took it and handed over his handkerchief. Like they were trading items. She turned away to leave but once again he called out to her:
"Ashy.."
And before she could react he embraced her, crying floods at her shoulder. She remained awkwardly silent and still as he was sobbing loudly.
"I am so sorry Ashy, I deeply apologize for my previous behavior, please forgive me.....
...please I beg you to forgive me..." he spoke with a thick voice between his tears.
"uhmm.." Aislinn mumbled, feeling impotent to speak and to shocked, not knowing what to believe or who she really was anymore. Part of me is not human....
She hugged her cousin absentminded in return and could not help but cry with him.

Later that evening
Elias stepped out from the Ministry of Magic in the same moment as he received Luna's Patronus. The silvery slithering snake whispered its message to him:

Good evening, Elias. I wish to meet with you at that lovely restaurant in Knockturn Alley. I await your arrival. I will assume you do not wish to dine with me if you do not arrive by seven.

Some guards looked suspiciously at him when they noticed the Patronus, which vanished in the air. Elias acted like it was nothing at all and flashed one of his casual smiles before apparating away to Silvery Serpents. In case they ask me about it, I can always cover it. One of my sister's friends got a snake as Patronus...
Elias arrived at the restaurant half past six o'clock. He entered and immediately spotted her at one of the tables by the windows. He smiled charmingly as he sat down.
"Good evening dear."
They ordered dinner and she told him what had occurred during the two weeks as they ate. He listened to her story thoughtfully. When she was done he reached for her hand and hold it lovingly.
"First I must tell you that your Patronus did not only surprise me but also the guards at the entrance of the Ministry of Magic, hehe," he spoke quietly. "But don't worry, they did not hear the message though they only saw a silvery snake floating in the air. In case they question me I can always cover it up.." He let go of her hand and leaned back in his chair, looking out of the window. It had been starting raining since he had arrived. And with the candles at the table, the weather made it ideal for a romantic evening. "Anyway that was an interesting move you did with the Potters.." He looked at Luna with a smirk. "My help to get you inside the Ministry of Magic under the nose of the foolish minister was not in vain after all... I knew of course about the certain rescue incident when it happened because I read about it in the Daily Prophet the next day, there was a big photo of you at the front page, of course as your disguise, and the two children. First, I was very surprised and astonished when I read the news. Then I understood it was you since I knew about your disguise when you visited me two days ago. I was half confused and half amused about it, wondering what your plans were....now when you told me everything and what has happened afterwards I understand...You, My dark Queen, have played a good game of chess with them and checkmated Potter. And now you have them under your power, you are literally ruling them and you dare to mislead them. I am truly amazed.."

Luna was genuinely moved by his praise. For one moment, she felt a true affection for him. No. This self-entitled, pompous fool is not for me. I must remember my purpose However, Dark Queen sounds lovely. "Thank you for your praise." she said warmly, raising her glass of wine "To our well-played game of chess." They drank to her toast. "I would never have achieved such power had it not been for your assistance. I am indebted to you." She looked down, once again regretting her past decision to end him. He looked into her eyes, seeming to read her thoughts.

Elias noted a slightly switch of Luna's expression. For a moment she looked like that my praising words have gone to her heart, like she could have felt true affection for me, but that is impossible because she will never be able to truly love since she has no heart at all....
"Thank you for your praise." Luna said warmly, raising her glass of wine. "To our well-played game of chess."
Elias raised his glass as well and they drank to her toast.
"I would never have achieved such power had it not been for your assistance. I am indebted to you." Luna spoke and looked down.
With a gently touch, he lifted her chin so that she was facing him instead for looking down. He looked deep into her eyes for several seconds, his face only a few inches away from hers, listening to the lovely sound of the rain against the window.
"My lady, you do not owe me anything," he spoke quietly and lovingly. "I am doing this all for you because I feel that I owe you because you did not only teach me a lesson before but also forgiving me for my past. I also feel that I am in debt to Monroe, because she saved my life, I have still not payed my debt to her, though I have promised myself that I shall do soon.."

Meanwhile
"I learned everything about humans, though only about the wizarding world, and to cook all kind of human dishes and meals when I got married to Mr. Richard Monroe fifty-five years ago.." Lady Monroe told Aislinn as she set the table in the dining room, which was dusky and dim because of the drawn dark curtains and candle lights. "He was a pureblood wizard who worked at the Ministry of Magic. This manor was his." she gestured around with her right hand.

"My lady, please allow me to help you," A vampire lady spoke, offering to help Lady Monroe with the preparations of the supper.

"No thank you, Natalia," Lady Monroe declined her offer politely. "Please, I want to spoil my dear grand-daughter this evening.." She smiled lovingly towards Aislinn as she placed a bowl with something that looked like vegetable soup. Aislinn looked down at the soup with a frown. This looks a little fishy... She picked up the spoon and tasted it. It was watery, filled with carrots, broccoli, spinach and mushroom. The taste was plain, like it was missing salt or any kind of spice. It is like drinking plain boiled water with semi raw vegetables...
Her grand-mother smiled happily as she placed more other kind of dishes at the table. Boiled potatoes topped with poorly chopped dill and oven-baked chicken which looked over-cooked. And lastly chocolate pudding for dessert. In other circumstances Aislinn would have immediately started with the dessert which would have surprised her grand-mother, but at this moment she was in different kind of mood. She was not herself, she was quieter and paler than usual, still in a shock and feeling gloomy. There was a half empty look in her eyes. Her grand-mother, Vincent, Natalia and three other vampires were sitting at the table. All of them but Vincent were looking curiously at Aislinn. Vincent was resting his chin in his palm, looking down at the table.

"And to make a long story short, I met your grand-father by a coincidence. I used to live with my parents and my brother, Vladimir I D'Arcy," Lady Monroe gestured towards an old vampire man who nodded smilingly towards Aislinn. "and my sister-in-law, Margerethe D'Arcy," Lady Monroe gestured towards another old vampire lady. "They were newly wedded back then, and we lived in a small wooden cottage in a forest far away from London. One day humans, actually the kinds who your grand-father called for muggles, found out about our place which we thought were well hidden but unfortunately it was not. They found us just when we were about to have our meal for the midnight and attacked us.."

Aislinn slurped aloud as she was eating her soup. Lady Monroe smiled nervously as she continued her story: "It was then when I met your grand-father, when he saved us from those evil muggles.."
Aislinn rolled her eyes. What a silly love story.... She kept slurping her soup, unaware of how everyone but Vincent was switching nervously at their chairs. Vincent looked up at his great-aunt with a face which was saying - Why so surprised, I told you before, she is rude and insolent-
When Aislinn had finished her soup she took a little bit of the chicken and some potatoes. Even the potatoes were over-cooked and she noticed that they were carelessly peeled. Eeww how disgusting..I wonder if she has washed the potatoes at all... She made a grimace with every chew as she forced herself to eat. She was starving because she had nothing but a glass of chocolate drink and two buttered toast since eight hours ago.

Lady Monroe continued to introduce the rest of the vampires who were sitting at the table:
"..Vladimir II D'Arcy, " she gestured towards another vampire man, who looked to be middle-aged. "my nephew...and his wife Natalia D'Arcy" Lady Monroe gestured to the vampire lady who earlier had offered her help with preparing the supper for Aislinn. "And their son, Vincent D'Arcy.." Lady Monroe gestured towards her grand-nephew who was sitting in front her. Aislinn kept chewing and making grimaces.

"Uhmm..nice to meet you all.." she spoke between her chews not caring if she still had food in her mouth or not. The chocolate pudding was light brown and tasted like it was consisting of too much sugar. Aislinn only managed to eat half of it. She looked at the goblet of water in front of her. She took a sip. The water was luke warm. She forced herself to drink the rest of the water because the to much sweetened pudding had made her thirsty.

"Uhmm thanks for the meal.." Aislinn managed to say but still feeling impotent to call Lady Monroe for "grand-mother". She burped aloud making her grand-mother jump up by shock. "Now I need firewhiskey," Aislinn continued with a hollow voice.

"Oh good lord.." Lady Monroe looked astonished at her grand-daughter. "My dear child, it is not proper for fine ladies to dri-"
"Ashy?.." Vincent spoke quietly, interrupting his great-aunt to her disappointment, as he rose up from his place. He held up his hand towards Aislinn.
"Uhmm.." She put her hand in his.
"Aislinn?" Lady Monroe looked at her grand-daughter. But Aislinn ignored her as she walked out with Vincent from the dining room. "Aislinn?!!"

"Seems like she is only responsive to my son.." Natalia spoke when they both had left.
"And she seems to be a little shocked, which was nothing I expected, I was more worried about you my dear sister.."
"It is all those humans' fault! Look what they have done to her, if I had been the one raising her up, she would have been a fine lady with manners and etiquettes, who does not drink firewhiskey and instead dresses in elegant clothes than weird and ugly rags. And besides they are the ones to be blamed for having to put my grand-daughter in a shock. They had no right to take her away from me. I was her righteous guardian after her parents and -"
"But you know why they took her away from us, don't you, dear?"
"I know Margerethe, I know very well..they wanted her to grow up as a human in a suitable wizarding family, because her grand-father passed away before she was born and her parents died when she was little, which left her as a human alone among us vampires and thus it was not proper for her to live with us according to the wizarding world and laws. The humans promised me to tell her about us when she grew up...but they did not, they broke the promise...."
"My lady, I do not think she liked the meal which you cooked for her," Natalia commented carefully.
"I know, I noticed that" Lady Monroe replied stiffly. "And good lord, this girl does not have any manners at the table at all.." she sighed.

With a gently touch, he lift her chin so that she was facing him instead for looking down. I also feel that I am in debt to Monroe, because she saved my life, I have still not paid my debt to her, though I have promised myself that I shall do soon.."

"Thank you." she said, after looking into his eyes with equal love and gratitude. She gracefully stood to leave, "Farewell, Elias. I appreciate dining with you this evening. "And she walked out as she usually did. . .with her back straight. No one but her knew why she had such elegant grace and manners, but she wasn't planning on telling them. . . unless it became important. Before she could get soaked by the rain, she disappeared into smoke at the last step of the exit. She appeared right in her bedroom, and spent the rest of the time until ten planning her next move with Nagini. I cannot wait to see what Aislynn has to say about this last move. However, I do not want to disturb her from her few weeks of peace. . .

The next day, she went to work as usual, and found an invitation on her desk, along with more thank-you letters, and requests for her to convince Miss Monroe to join her at the Ministry. To those, she politely replied "You cannot make someone do something they do not wish to. Otherwise, they will not feel impotent to do their best. " The thank - you notes were skipped through, then thrown away. As for the invitation, she RSVP'd. The event would take place in a week, and would last three hours. People were allowed to bring one guest. Aislynn will be invited, since she has a good reputation among these people. Perhaps Elias would like to come? I hear it is a lovely event, but perhaps being around so many blood-traitors would annoy him?

She kept busy the next three days, and on the fourth, was asked if she received a letter from Potter himself, asking her if she would mind baby-sitting his children, since he trusted her with them. Wonderful! He truly does trust me, at least enough to watch over his two little gems. She, of course, replied with a yes, saying she was available the next day.

"With all my pleasure, farewell my lady," Elias kissed Luna's hand and watched her walking away. My dark queen...

Aislinn woke up unusually very early the next morning. She opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling above her for several seconds. I must have been dreaming yesterday...I am in my bed at the manor.. I'll soon see Luna in the kitchen, and we'll have a delicious breakfast together...
She rose up from the bed but almost winced by surprise. She clasped her mouth with her both hands so avoid screaming. She stared around in the room. It was grand and white. White and sheer chiffon draperies hung at the windows. The furniture was of Victorian style, white and elegant. But what had drawn her attention the most, were the dolls and toys, which were stuffed in a book shelf and in a cupboard with glass doors. She walked over to the floor length mirror across the room. She almost did not recognize herself. She was dressed in a white long night gown, looking like a pale ghost with long black messy hair.

Then she remembered. Yesterday Vincent had taken her to a pub in Knockturn Alley. She had first drunk a cup of hot chocolate to relax and then several glasses, she did not remember how many, of firewhiskey. Afterwards she had walked over to the cemetery and laid down on a grave stone, thinking that it was her bed at home. Vincent had lifted her up when she had been half slumbering and escorted her back to manor. Natalia and Lady Monroe had later taken care of her and put her in bed.

Aislinn glanced at the cute clock at the bedside table. It was half past seven. She looked around in the room for her clothes which she had worn yesterday, but she could not find them anywhere. She could only find her wand and pendant at the bedside table. She put on her pendant, hid it behind her gown and picked up her wand. She sneaked out from the weird bedroom, forgetting her shoes which was placed beside her bed, and looked around in the dark hallway. She run over the carpeted floor back and forth until she found the staircase. It was leading both up to the next floor and down to another floor. She walked down and not knowing where the bottom floor was located, she ended up in a dark cellar. She walked around in circles there, tripping over old furniture and cardboards stuffed with things that no one wanted anymore. Web-cobs were covering small corners and spaces. She was running around like a mad in the darkness until her eyes adjusted and she finally found the staircase. She walked up to one floor this time and entered the bottom floor to her relief. She run to the front doors and opened them. She was met by the beautiful sunlight and cold breeze of air. She closed the front doors. She could not leave the place in a white nightgown and besides she was to hungry that she could only think about food at the moment. She walked back and opened every door she could find. The parlor, the dining room, the breakfast room and finally she found the kitchen. She rummaged the cupboards until she found plain biscuits which she could satisfy her hunger with for breakfast. She filled a goblet with water and then pointed at it with her wand to make the water refreshing cold. She ate the plain biscuits with a frown. They were dry though tasted fine. She had found milk, cheese and sliced bread, but after a closer look she found that the milk was sour, and the cheese rotten covered with green spots. The bread was to dry and also with tracks of green rotten spots on it.

After a short and brief breakfast, Aislinn felt that she needed to go to the bathroom. She remembered it was located at the second floor as she run around in the bottom floor looking for it. She walked up for the stairs and felt for the doors. She found the bedroom which she had been sleeping in, a library, a drawing room, two other bedrooms which were grander and finally the bathroom. When she had executed her needs, she decided to explore the third floor. She did not care that much about the paintings which hang at the wall and went immediately up for the stairs. She felt for every door she found at the third floor. There were one grand family room, also a second bathroom and four bedrooms. She sneaked inside the beautiful and elegant furnished bedrooms and found the vampires deep asleep. She went further inside the fourth one and looked down at Vincent. He was sleeping peacefully and calmly. Without knowing or thinking about what she was doing, Aislinn poked him at his cheek with her index finger. He suddenly opened his eyes and looked sleepily at her. Aislinn was brought back to her senses and rushed out from his bedroom, slamming the door behind her. She run over to the end of the corridor and opened the doors there. She entered and found herself in a grand and elegant balcony. She went closer to the balcony parapet and looked down at the overgrown and wild garden below.

"Same old and cute habit as when you were a child, always waking me up because you wanted to play."
Aislinn turned around.
Vincent was standing behind her, leaning his back against the doors. He smiled amusingly.
She stared at him, wondering when he had entered without her noticing it.
"It is another ability I have beside being able to tolerate the daylight. I can move around soundlessly and fast.." he said, seemed to have read her thoughts. "It is perfect when I need to haunt down my prey.." He grinned, showing his dangerously sharp fangs.
Aislinn gulped, feeling to paralyzed to move or speak.
"Do you need anything from me?"
Aislinn shook her head.
"Well then, I'll go back to sleep.." and he left.

Aislinn remained in the balcony for a couple of hours before she went inside, shivering of the cold. She went down to the second floor and opened confusingly every door until she found the room she had been sleeping in. How much she looked, she could not find her old clothes from yesterday. She went up to the third floor again and sneaked inside Vincent's room. And once again she poked his cheek.
"Yes?" he opened his eyes, this time looking amusingly at her.
"I can't find my clothes.." Aislinn was feeling very stupid.
He looked confusingly at her and then burst out in laughter.
"You are so cute Ashy.." he said between his laughter.
Aislinn looked annoyingly at him. What the bloody hell... She left and slammed the door behind her. Perhaps I should try to ask my grand-mother..

Aislinn peeked into the other rooms until she found her grand-mother. She poked her cheek, the same way as she had done with Vincent, to wake her up.
"Good morning my dear," Lady Monroe greeted her as she slowly opened her eyes. "What time is it? I feel it must be too early.."
"Uhmm....where's my clothes?"
"Oh, in your closet, my dear, hehe, do you need any help?" She rose up from her bed and put on her morning robe above her night gown. She took Aislinn by her hand and noticed how cold she was. "You have not been running outdoors dear, have you? You are so cold, why did you not put on your morning robe, I placed it on the chair for you in your bedroom."
Aislinn remained silent as her grand-mother walked with her down to her bedroom. She opened the closet for her and showed her beautiful and elegant dresses, coats, boots and shoes. Aislinn could still not see her old clothes.
"I prepared this closet about a few years ago," she told Aislinn. "I had counted that you would stop growing when you turned seventeen. I added a few years to it just in case. Since I knew your mother since she was around eighteen, I could make a good guess that you would turn out the same in shape." She picked out a black dress, a matching coat, hat and a pair of boots for her grand-daughter. She smiled lovingly towards Aislinn who was feeling to awkward to speak.
"Let me know if you need anything my dear..." She said as she left.
What about my old clothes?... Aislinn looked at the weird clothes which her grand-mother had picked out for her. Well whatever, I still have normal clothes left at Luna's place... Aislinn put on everything but the hat. She peeked outside and found her grand-mother waiting patiently in the corridor.
"Oh, you forgot the hat, though so much better, because I would love to do your hair and add a little color to your face my dear..." Lady Monroe said happily.
She brushed Aislinn's hair with a roll brush while spraying Wonder Witchy Hair Spray at the same time, creating half curls. When she was done, she applied make up on Aislinn's face and put on the hat which she tied under her chin. Aislinn stared at herself in the mirror. Merlin's hairy beard... Then she could not help but smirk. I guess Sherwood will never recognize me with this apparel...

"Thank you, grand-mother," Aislinn said politely, kissing Lady Monroe on her cheek. Her grand-mother burst out in tears, feeling to happy and surprised that she could not help but cry.
Seriously....she is so sensitive... Aislinn thought and then said: "I'll be out today and back home later, I have lot of work to take care of..." and off she went leaving her grand-mother in a condition of mixed feelings.

Aislinn apparated immediately outside the post office in Diagon Alley and found a letter awaiting her. It was an invite to an event which would take place next week. She was allowed to bring one guest with her. She took the invite with her as she apparated to Luna's manor.
"Luna....Lunaa....." Aislinn called out as she run around everywhere inside the manor. She could not find her anywhere. The only thing she found was a letter by Luna, explaining for her all the incidents that had occurred the previous weeks. Oh now things are more clear and make sense....well now one thing is left...and I must give it a try..
This time Aislinn apparated outside the Ministry of Magic. She walked up to the entrance. The guards did not bother to stop her and one of them even flashed a charming smile towards her. Aislinn resisted her urge to make any grimace or stick out her tongue as response.
Merlin's beard, it must be thanks to my weird attire... She thought as she walked inside. The first one who she noticed was Elias Shadowwalker who walked out from the elevator.

"Oh, hello mate," Aislinn grinned.
Elias stared surprisingly at the elegant dressed girl in front of him.
"Monroe?"
Aislinn could not help but giggle.
"Seriously, I did not recognize you..." He laughed. "Well, Miss Heroine, welcome to the Ministry of the Magic, on your way to your new position I guess?"
"Uhm well I’m actually not ready for that today....I...May I ask you for a favor or?" Thank Merlin that I run into him, this is my chance...
"Of course."
"I need to get access to the registry of witches and wizards in Great Britain..."
"Sure.." Elias looked a little suspiciously at Aislinn.
"I just need access to my family name that's all, I’ve done a research at Hogwarts before, but it has not given me that much actually.." she explained, seemed to have read his thoughts.
"Take the elevator down to floor FC4½. It is located deep under the ground. When you arrive there, walk straight forward until you reach the end corridor. Tell the guards who you are and for what business you need access to the registry. I’m sure they'll allow you inside, you have a good reputation after all, hehe..."
"Thanks.."

221f2865ea3d740f742b8441747147ed.png

Aislinn followed Elias' instructions and was soon standing in front of two guards who were looking suspiciously at her. As soon as she had introduced herself and politely asked if she could take a look at the files of her family name, the both guards' expressions softened and one of them got to excited that he was struggling with opening the doors for her. She was allowed to go inside alone because the guards already felt that they could trust her. She walked among the filled shelves and looked for the files she needed. Everything was placed in alphabetical order and as soon as she found the letter M, she walked slower this time, following each name by care to not miss anyone.
..Mabart...Maddox.....Malfoy.....Marvel...Mashall...Mcgonagall.....Mclaggen....Mcnair....
....Middleton....Monroe...found it! and there's only one Monroe..

Aislinn took out the parchment roll she need and rolled it out. It contained a list of her family name dated back to sometime at the beginning of the 19th century. She followed the list of the names of her great great great grand-fathers with her eyes in the dim light until she reached the name of her grand-father, Richard Monroe, born 1940 in London, England. All the information about them was telling that they were pureblood wizards who had been married to pureblood witches but until to the pureblood wizard Richard Monroe, who according to the information had been married to a non-human, Victoria D'Arcy, who was registered as a vampire. They only had one son, Edward Monroe, born 1968 and registered as a dhampir. Edward Monroe had been married to Isabelle Gaunt, a pureblood witch. ..And they only had one child, Aislinn Monroe, born 1994.... Aislinn dropped the parchment roll. It hit the floor with a loud sound. She hugged herself to calm down. Take a hold of yourself Aislinn, this is not new to you, you already confirmed it yesterday... She picked up the parchment roll and put it back in the shelf with shaking hands. She walked out absentminded and was soon back outside the ministry.

221f2865ea3d740f742b8441747147ed.png

It took about four days for Aislinn to almost recover. One early morning, on the fourth day, she put on the same attire she had four days ago, though this time she made her hair and applied make-up by herself. After a brief breakfast at Zayne's cafe in Knockturn Alley, she went to the Ministry of Magic. She had not seen Luna for a long time and wondered how and when they would see each other again. Aislinn did not even know how Luna's disguise, Eve Blackwood, looked like. Perhaps I'll catch a glimpse of her in the second floor where the aurors work? Aislinn thought as she entered the second floor and looked around. Of course, no one recognized her thus everyone walked past her until someone noticed her.

"Excuse me, miss, is there anything I can help you with?" A young man, an auror and member of P.O. and a close friend of Sherwood, spoke to Aislinn as he approached to her.
"Oh hello Mr. Lawrence."
"Aislinn?..."
She grinned when he suddenly recognized her, and he could not hold himself back. He called out to everyone, announcing that Miss Aislinn Monroe had arrived and soon everyone was crowding around her, wanting to hug and thank her and shake hands with her. Even Mr. Harry Potter came out from his office to greet her and show her the office which he had prepared especially for her.

Luna heard the commotion, and walked out of her office. She politely made her way to the front of the crowd, which wasn't a problem, and pulled Aislynn aside, telling the crowd she needed to talk with her privately. Once they were in Luna's office, she locked the door, and changed out of her disguise. "Good morning, Aislynn." she said cheerfully "You look lovely. Like a more elegant version of yourself. I've been so busy, lately. I am sure you have questions?" she smiled as she gestured to a seat. She pulled out a box which she had packed for herself, consisting of special chocolate muffins. "Here. You are hungry, I hope? These are simply divine." She sat down, not behind her desk, but on the chair opposite her, where visitors usually sat, crossing her legs elegantly.

As soon as the Luna revealed herself in front of Aislinn, she spoke cheerfully:

"Good morning, Aislynn. You look lovely. Like a more elegant version of yourself. I've been so busy, lately. I am sure you have questions?" Luna smiled as she gestured to a seat. She pulled out a box which she had packed for herself, consisting of special chocolate muffins.
"Here. You are hungry, I hope? These are simply divine."

Aislinn burst out in tears of relief. She flung herself around Luna's neck, sobbing at her chest and telling at the same time about the discover which she had made about her blood and family the previous days. She let go of Luna as soon as she had calmed down a little.

"He...he..the one who I danced with at the gala...he..he" Aislinn stuttered. "..my second cousin on my father's side.." Careless of how the mascara and eye-liner had made black streaks and lines along her face when she had been crying, she took one chocolate muffin and sat down in front of Luna, munching the cake in silence. She picked a second chocolate muffin, then a third and a fourth. She did not hesitate to eat a fifth one.

"Thank you," she said politely, when she was feeling a little better and more cheerful thanks to the chocolate muffins. "What a freaking move you did, you really surprised me hehe," she commented. "You have truly misinformed Potter hehehe, but why did you in particular bring two of the children to him and leaving the third one behind?" She asked curiously.

Luna held her close, stroking her hair kindly, and listening carefully to her story. Once she was done, she swiped her wand, clearing Aislynn's face of all smeared mascara. She watched as she ate three muffins, and as she reached for her fourth, she reached into her bag and pulled out a potion to fix a stomach ache. "You'll need this." she said with a face that said 'Trust me' as Aislynn read the label, confused.

"Thank you," she said politely, when she was feeling a little better and more cheerful thanks to the chocolate muffins.

"Do not hesitate to apparate away, straight to my manor should you need to. I will help you with whatever you need. I can even teach you how to disappear into smoke. . . it can get past more enchantments, and there is no risk . . .like splinching. It is fairly easy. . . "

"But why did you in particular bring two of the children to him and leaving the third one behind?" She asked curiously.

"Trust me. When the time comes, you will understand. I trust you, but I will be happier when it comes as a surprise. " she winked. She put a hand to Aislynn's shoulder, and looked into her eyes the way a friend would. "If there is anything you need. . . do not hesitate. I will do everything I can, to ensure you are not harmed. "

"Trust me. When the time comes, you will understand. I trust you, but I will be happier when it comes as a surprise." Luna winked.

"I trust you," Aislinn smiled, loving the idea of surprises.

"If there is anything you need...do not hesitate. I will do everything I can, to ensure you are not harmed." Luna spoke as she put her hand on Aislinn's shoulder and looked into her eyes the way a friend would.

"Thank you, Luna. By telling you everything today has eased my heart. I’m feeling better than I did a couple of hours ago. Do not worry, the last thing my family would do in the world is to harm me. My grandmother would skin anyone alive who tried to touch a hair of mine, " Aislinn laughed at the memory of how Lady Monroe had scolded Vincent four days ago. "Though if there's anything I will always let you know. I was actually at your manor four days ago. I visited the post office in Diagon Alley first, to check if I have received any letters. I only got an invite to a certain event. I guess you did receive the same invite, didn't you? Anyway, after the short visit at the post office I went to your manor. I looked for you everywhere, but I could only find the letter which you had left for me. After that I had read your letter and understood the incidents which I had missed during the previous weeks, I went to the Ministry of Magic immediately. I was lucky to run into Elias so I could ask him where I could find the registry of wizards and witches in Great Britain. And thanks to him I was able to get the files to my family name and confirm the truth and reality which I could neither believe nor accept before." Aislinn smiled as she caressed Luna's hand. "I am also glad that Elias did not make a fuss about me like Mr. Lawrence. Well, I have been very careful with apparating since the first time I learned it, I always avoid to apparate in haste, so I do not risk splinching, though smoke disappearance sounds interesting, I'll be ready anytime when you have time to teach me. And oh, I just thought about something, they have not been wondering where Eve Blackwood lives? In case someone wants to pay a visit to Miss Blackwood, perhaps that could cross anyone's mind. I’m telling you this because I have been in the same situation before. Back then I made the P.O. believe that I rent a room somewhere in Knockturn Alley, the last place they would go to thus they never thought about to visit me. Perhaps they won't ask you now, but soon when they feel closer to and become closer friends with Miss Blackwood, they might want to see her, inviting her for tea or dinner and of course they will expect her to invite them back in return."

"Oh." Luna waved off the question as if it was nothing. "I've already handled that! They think I live in Spinner's End, which no one would voluntarily visit. That way, I can also use that as an excuse to not invite anyone. " she laughed.

"I am baby-sitting "Potter's children in another half-hour.. That will keep me busy until five. After that, I do not have anything planned, until that certain event, so I can teach you every day, from tomorrow to until the event, then even after that. . .until you learn it. " She smiled, making Aislynn feel like she did not consider it a burden in the least. "Now, " she stood up, and got back into her disguise, "I have a few things to do until I meet up with Potter. " She undid the enchantments done onto the door, and opened it, kindly gesturing for her to leave. "And-" she said, as Aislynn rose from her chair "I take it, from your appetite, those Vampires do not cook well? Take the rest of the muffins. . .and, in the event that you should grow hungry again. . .you may find some home-cooked meals in your room, with enchantments to keep them at the proper temperature. Farewell." she smiled as Aislynn left. Luna locked her door, again, and sat down to handle a few more bits of paperwork. She had started planting subtle pieces of evidence, leading to Aaron, instead of her. In time, Luna's name would be cleared, and Aaron would be the one paying. . .dead Aaron. She thought with a smile.

Twenty minutes later, she appeared at the door of Harry's office, and knocked lightly, three times. The talking inside stopped immediately, and Harry spoke gently to his children.

"I recognize that know. Miss Blackwood is here, children. " he said happily. "One moment!: he called. The sound of a chair moving, and walking, then he unlocked, and opened the door.
"Hello, Miss Blackwood. " Harry said happily. "You're early."
"If one cannot be punctual, there is not point. " she smiled "I find the best way to avoid being late is to show up early."

She spent the afternoon in Diagon Alley, taking the children shopping at Fred and George's shop, where she allowed the children one gift each. Lily bought a Colour Changing Rose Hair Accessory, and James bought a Fanged Frisbee. (Luna bought a bit of Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder, and a Patented Daydream Charm. ). She then took them to Florean's Ice Cream Parlor, where Lily bought a Peanut Butter ice cream, and James bought a Rocky Road. Luna bought a Chocolate Peppermint, and they sat outside to eat them, during which the children expressed gratitude for the fun day. . .James in a polite and quiet way, Lily in an enthusiastic and energetic way. Afterward, Luna took them to a lovely open field with lots of grass, where she played a game with the children, using her wand to levitate a stick. . the winner would get to choose where they would eat dinner. After Luna gestured to James to allow Lily to win, as she was younger, they went to a cute cafe where they sat outside, and Lily ate spaghetti and meatballs, where James ate a club sandwich. Luna had a glass of lemonade, making light conversation with the children.

"Did you have fun today?"
"Yes! I hope we can hang out with you lots more!" Lily said in between chewing.
"Try not to eat with your mouth full, please." Luna said politely "It is not pleasant for the people sharing the conversation. "
"Thank you very much for today." James said for the umpteenth time "After a week, father says we'll be going back to Hogwarts. For now, he spends as much time as possible with us in between work. I am happy we can trust you, as well as Dad and Auntie Hermione. "
"I am happy I could contribute to you two. " Luna smiled.

She paied the bill, and they walked to the Leaky Cauldron. Once they were in the back room, Luna turned to the children.

"I take it you didn't enjoy apparating here, did you?"
They shook their heads "Is it as bad on your own? " James asked.
"Worse." Luna said. "Let's try another way?"
She took hold of their hands, and they disappeared in a puff of smoke, and appeared at the Muggle entrance to the Ministry.

"Wow!" Lily said "That felt like. . " she paused, trying to find the right description.
"Like soaring through fresh air and clouds!" James finished happily.
"You're welcome." she smiled.

Harry's Office, 3:50

"I am unsure of whether we can trust her, or not." Neville Longbottom said nervously.
"She brought the children back, Neville, isn't that enough? We've been over this fifty times!" Harry said in a tired voice.
"It could be a ploy, to get us to trust her!" Hermione said angrily.
"Or, she could be one of the many hard-working Aurors contributing to our eventual victory." Harry said "We will not have this chat again. For now, she is innocent." he finished as there was a knock at the door. Luna appeared with the two children, greeted them all in turn, and left an hour later, after once again confirming her presence was accepted at the event. She smoked home, washed, and made a dinner, specially packaging her Thanksgiving Meal and sending it to Aislynn's room. She went to sleep at ten later that night.

"Oh. I have already handled that! They think I live in Spinner's End, which no one would voluntarily visit. That way, I can also that as an excuse to not invite anyone," Luna laughed. "I am baby-sitting Potter's children in another half-hour.." she continued. "...That will keep me busy until five. After that, I do not have anything planned, until that certain event, so I can teach you every day, from tomorrow to until event, then even after that, until you learn it." she smiled.

"Thank you so much, I appreciate it," Aislinn replied.

"Now," Luna stood up and changed back to her disguise. "I have a few things to do until I meet up with Potter." She undid the enchantment, opened the door and kindly gestured Aislinn to leave. "And.." Luna continued as Aislinn rose from her chair. "I take it from your appetite, those Vampires do not cook well? Take the rest of the muffins..."

"Hehehh how did you know, I’m either too crazy about anything with chocolate or I must look to thin..." Aislinn laughed.

"...and, in the event that you should grow hungry again...you may find some home-cooked meals in your room, with enchantments to keep them at proper temperature." Luna continued.

"Oh, how sweet, thank you so much, I'll see you tomorrow then. I'll be at your place at ten o'clock. See you."

"Farewell," Luna smiled.

As soon as Aislinn stepped outside Luna's office, she was crowded by many aurors who wanted to greet and praise her once again. Aislinn excused herself and rushed out from the Ministry of Magic. When she had stepped outside and was far away from the entrance, she apparated to Knockturn Alley. It was around one o'clock. She ate lunch at Zayne's Cafe and spend the rest of the day wandering around and checking out the village which was located a few miles away from Knockturn Alley. She went back and ate a late dinner at Black Cobweb's pub before returning to her new home. When she apparated in front of the main doors she changed her mind. She did not want to see anyone, still feeling awkward about keeping company with vampires, and rather wanted to spend the rest of the evening alone thus she walked around the corner of the manor and entered the wild and overgrown garden through an archway. She strode around in the garden until she found an almost hidden wooden swing among the trees. At the very moment when she sat down on it and looked around till she faced the back of the manor she was sudden washed over by flashbacks of memories.

"Ashy!" A boy's voice called somewhere. A little chubby and giggling girl was running around in a wild garden where flowers, wild berries and fruits were growing freely. The juicy and ripe blackberries were looking appealing to her. She run over to them and picked some to eat. And soon she was so smudgy of blackberries. Her hands, her mouth and her white cute dress. She was feeling very happy and careless about the world. She turned around at the boy who earlier had called out to her and who now had approached to her. He laughed when he saw how she had messed up with the berries. She grinned at him and handed him a handful of them. She did not understand that he did not like them, but he took them gratefully and ate them for her sake even if he could not feel their sweet and sour taste as she did. After a while when she had enough of the blackberries she ran over to a wooden swing and tried to sit on it. The boy helped her up on the swing and soon he was pushing gently at her back so she was swinging back and forth...

"Guess who?!"
"Huh..." Aislinn was brought back to the present all at once when she suddenly felt hands covering her eyes. "Vincent?"
"Correct," he laughed as he removed his hands and gave her a gently push at her back, so she swung forward. Aislinn noticed that it was already night and jumped down from the swing.
"Where are you going?" Vincent looked a little disappointed when the swing returned empty to him.
"To sleep.." Aislinn opened a door at the back of the manor which to her surprise led her to the scullery. "Good night." She closed the door behind her, walked further in and entered the kitchen. She was feeling a vague familiarity with the way she had entered. Like I have been walking here before in long forgotten memories... She went up to her bedroom and put the box of chocolate muffin at her bedside table, noticing that the time was close to midnight. She washed and changed to her nightgown before snuggling under the quilt.

Aislinn managed to wake up early the next morning. She had about two hours to get ready for her lessons with Luna. She ate the chocolate muffins for breakfast, put on the same dress which she had yesterday and wrote a short letter to Vincent. She put it on his bedside table and left. When Aislinn arrived at Luna's manor, she immediately changed to her usual type of clothes and chopped of her long hair with diffendo. Back to my old self hehe.. She thought as she quickly checked herself in the mirror, not caring that much if her hair looked unevenly cut, before walking outside. She sat down on a bench and waited for Luna outside the labyrinth.

Luna awoke early as always the next morning. She had requested time off of work, which Potter freely gave, understanding that she needed time to relax after the 'events concerning the children.' She planned on getting back to 'work' the day after the event. She got ready in an elegant black gown, and walked outside with Nagini at her side. There, she found Aislynn waiting. Luna gazed at her for a moment, emotionless, then smiled. "Good morning." she said cheerfully "I didn't realize how much better you look when you dress like yourself. Your hair looks much better short, but would you like to use the disguise mirror to even it out a bit?"

"Let's begin our lesson." she smiled, leading the way to the center of the labyrinth. She changed nothing, letting it remain simply a grassy clearing with tall hedge walls. "Now." she instructed. "I am sure you are aware that apparition is extremely. . .uncomfortable. Plus, there is the risk of splinching. No matter how good you are, everyone has been splinched at least once. Smoke manipulation, as if is formally called, feels much more pleasant, is quicker and easier, can get past many more enchantments, and only has one risk. In order to 'smoke' from place to place, you must concentrate on appearing exactly where you wish to be. In order to do that, you must know two things: One, know the exact location of your destination, and Two, visualize yourself appearing in that place, whilst imagining the surroundings as clearly as possible. It is best to think of a place you know best, lest you appear in the middle of an ocean. " Luna and Nagini laughed at this inside joke. "So, everyone says you must concentrate all of your thoughts and energy on disappearing and reappearing. I say, allow your emotions to come into play. " She closed her eyes, and visualized the spot of grass to the left of Aislynn. She focused her emotions, and thought of the time she had first met Nagini. In a second, she appeared in the place she had intended, and took a small bow. "You try." she smiled. "I find positive thoughts work well, but if you are in a hurry, try a memory of intense sadness or anger. "

"Good morning," Luna said cheerfully.

"Morning," Aislinn grinned as she rose from the bench.

"I didn't realize how much better you look when you dress like yourself. Your hair looks much better short, but would you like to use the disguise mirror to even it out a bit?"

"Thanks hehehe and it is allright, I've planned to visit the hair parlor before the event."

"Let's begin our lesson," Luna smiled and led Aislinn to the center of the labyrinth where she instructed and explained for Aislinn both about the difference between apparition and smoke manipulation and about the latter.

"..One, know the exact location of your destination, and Two, visualize yourself appearing in that place, whilst imagining the surroundings as clearly as possible. It is best to think of a place you know the best, lest you appear in the ocean." Both Luna and Nagini laughed while Aislinn laughed a little nervously. I must also learn to control my emotions so I do not panic in any situation... "...you must concentrate all of your thoughts and energy on disappearing and reappearing. I say allow your emotions to come in play," Luna continued and then demonstrated the smoke manipulation. "You try," she smiled. "I find positive thoughts work well, but if you are in a hurry, try a memory of intense sadness or anger."

"hmm.." Aislinn closed her eyes and tried think of the happiest memory she had. She remembered the flashback of memories she encountered yesterday evening. But it was too vague, too far away and the rest of her memories were more filled of sadness, anger, disappointment, fear and shock. What happened after the happy times in the garden..how did I end up in the orphanage..and why was I put there..perhaps if I visit the places I might get more flashbacks of memories and besides my grandmother must know, mustn't she..

Aislinn opened her eyes. She was standing at the same spot and nothing had happened. Sigh, I must concentrate and not let myself be distracted by too many thoughts...I have to focus with my emotions after all... She closed her eyes once again and tried to relax. She took a deep breath and focused all her energy on the fears she had felt when she met the werewolf six days ago. All at once she felt she was surrounded by clouds. She opened her eyes, she could clearly see everything, Luna, Nagini, the green surroundings, the hedges, the memorial for Blaise at the center of the labyrinth. Aislinn looked down at herself. All she could see was grey smoke. And I’m standing at the same spot....oh I forget I must also visualize the place...but if I miss to imagine the place I want to appear in does it mean that I will appear right in the ocean now? she thought panicked, but she was once back to normal and her smoke evaporation was gone. She sighed of relief.

"What happened to me? I opened my eyes and discovered that I was all smoked, but I could still see everything else clearly. I noticed that I had not managed to move one inch at all."

"You were flying unaided, which is different from smoke manipulation. . . a rare ability, which, like being a Morphamagus, cannot be taught. Rather, the person is born with it. . . So, let's try again. Before you begin, think of where you want to appear. . .your room at the manor, or even just outside the labyrinth. Remember, concentrate your emotions on a strong memory or feeling. Perhaps the relieved feeling you had once you got over your fear of heights? Then, visualize the surroundings you will see once you appear in your destination. " She smiled. "And, you won't appear in the middle of the ocean, lest you wish to. Remember, you must want to go to the destination, or it will not work. "

"Oh....but I was actually still standing at the ground," Aislinn laughed. "It would be a dream if I could fly without aid hehe. Anyway, I'll try again...hmm..I'll try to move myself to the spot next beside you." Aislinn closed her eyes and tried to focus. I must want to go the spot next beside Luna and I must imagine it. And focus all my emotions in this. I want to go to the spot next beside Luna...I want to go the spot next beside Luna.....I want... Aislinn visualized something green that looked like grass. Instead for focusing with fear she did as Luna told her, she thought about the time when she discovered that she had overcome her fear of height. In that very moment she was feeling like she was soaring through the air and in the next moment she was feeling that she was in a confined space. She got panicked as usual though remembered that she was wearing the magical pendant. It told her to slowly move forward and feel around with her arms. What the bloody hell... she thought when she discovered that she was stuck inside the hedge. She managed to stick her head out. "This was unexpected hahaha..." she laughed. "I'll try to get out myself..." She closed her eyes once again and tried to focus at the green spot in front of her with the same emotion as before. A second later she bumped with her butt at the ground.

Luna helped her up, smiling patiently. "It's alright. You can quite close. I was even worse than you. . .for the first few weeks of my training, I didn't move an inch. This is excellent progress compared to that, don't you agree?".
