The Gangs

AviouslyPTX

Love is Love. No matter what sex.
"What's up Red?! Bout time you got here," Jace said as he stood up and wrapped an arm around the girl as she made her way up the steps. Aviana rolled her eyes and pulled away before hopping up on the ledge of the porch. "Don't go there. It's not my fault your boy can't seem to figure out what the word no means and keep his pants on," she retorted with narrow eyes before smiling a bit. "Let me see 'em," she added as she glanced around briefly. "Shots fired," Jace said with a smirk as he ran a had through his golden blonde hair. He went inside before emerging with a small black bag, throwing it to Aviana. "Easy there..." She scolded before glancing in the bag and pulling out a black Beretta semi-automatic pistol. She grinned and slipped the gun into the inside pocket of her black jacket. "Nice..." She said with a smirk. "Be careful with that thing. Can't have our best chick getting shot by her own gun," Jace said, earning a soft mutter of agreements. "I'll be fine," she said before hopping down. "I got some things to do so I'll see you guys later," she said as she began to leave and turned around. "Hey Jace, pick me up from the local bar tonight at midnight," she said, earning a nod from the blonde. "Got it cutie," he said, causing Avi to roll her eyes. She turned and headed off down the street, pushing her bright red hair out of her face as she walked.

It was soothing to her: the loud car horns, the glare of neon lights against the dark background of the city, the punctuated laughter of passersby. Her elbows rested on the railing of the roof, looking down on sprawling city that never seemed to sleep. The silhouette of her curved back against the skyline was a pleasing contrast to the blocky buildings behind her.

The faint reddish-orange light of a cigarette flickered between her fingers. Small trails of smoke spiraled into the air around her. She lifted it to her lips and inhaled. It felt hot to draw the smoke into her lungs - it was air moving past a fire, after all - and there was a sense of breathing and holding breath at the same time. The rush of nicotine started, a tingly sensation around her pierced ears and the back of her neck.

It was quiet tonight, in spite of the city's normal hustle and bustle. AJ had said that not much was happening tonight. They'd just finished a big job a few days ago, so the calendar was pretty clear for the rest of the week.

"Hey, Ari!"

A voice called to her from the stairs, and she didn't need to turn and look to see who it was.

"Hey, Daryl," she murmured, smoke curling out of her nostrils. She knew his long legs could cross the small rooftop in a few steps, that he would be right beside her soon enough.

The weight of his elbows on the railing made a faint creaking sound, and the whites of his teeth reflected from the glow of the streetlight beneath them. "Missed you on the big job the other day," he drawled, voice smooth like caramel.

Ari placed the cigarette to her lips and inhaled deeply, the final drag that burnt the stick down to the filter. "Mom wasn't doing well..." Her words trailed off just like the smoke around her.

"I'm sorry, Ari. I thought she had been doing better?"

She shifted her weight from one foot to the other, restless. Her problems weren't something she liked to talk about. A strand of dark hair fell into her face, but she quickly tucked it back behind her ear as she ashed out what remained of the cigarette on the top of the railing and flicked the butt over the edge of the roof.

"The doc says this last round of chemo was tough on her." Her voice was barely a whisper. Plus on top of that, she was a month behind on payments for her mother's treatment. It was really a stupid move to blow off the job, would've meant a good chunk of money for Ari. AJ hadn't seemed to pleased about it, but told Ari she could make it up later.

Daryl put his arm around Ari's shoulders in what should have been a comforting gesture, but something about it made Ari's skin crawl. He was always doing that, being a little too touchy, a little too nice, and his smiles were always a little too wide. She shrugged out of the embrace. "It's getting cold up here," she muttered. "I need to go see AJ anyway."

"I can go with you," Daryl offered, following her across the rooftop. "Let me give you a ride."

Their footsteps echoed off the metal stairs that wound down to the street, shadows casting long shapes on the brick beside them. "It's okay, I'll manage on my own. My bike's just down the block."

She swept her hair over her right shoulder, exposing the long curve of her neck.

"Oh, you finally did it," Daryl said, one of those too wide smiles expanding across his tanned face. "I didn't think you'd ever make that commitment."

In flourished cursive the word "Saints" was visible off the side of Ari's throat. The tattoo was in the early stages of healing, it had just started to itch and flake. She thought the whole idea was stupid but AJ had bitched about it, about how she wasn't proving her loyalty, so she had the stupid think inked on herself a few days ago.

She didn't bother responding, since they'd reached her motorcycle and she could finally make a getaway. After she unhooked her helmet off the back and donned it, she swung a leg over and started the bike. It didn't take long before Daryl disappeared in the distance behind her, but Ari swore she could still see the white of his teeth in the darkness.

Aviana quietly made her way down the street, the sound of people yelling and cars honking breaking the peace that she felt. Glancing around briefly, she pulled her hair up in a ponytail, gladly showing off a tattoo of an angel with blood for tears. Despite the tattoos that covered some parts of her body, she surprisingly managed to stay feminine. There was the angel with blood tears on the back of her neck. There was the dreamcatcher that drifted down her side. And there was the one on her leg that simply read: ANGELS BLOOD. It was probably her favorite. It was the name of her gang, her family.

She turned at a corner and headed down another street, a slightly curvy shadow among the buildings. It wasn't hard to miss her red hair but she wouldn't have it any other way. She wanted her victims to see her coming. She suddenly stopped in front of a building and turned to it, staring up. Saints territory. A faint smirk came across her face though it quickly faded as her phone buzzed in the pocket of her black skinny jeans. Pulling it out, she sighed softly at an all-too familiar name on the rectangular screen. Pressing the green icon and holding it up to her ear, she finally spoke. "Red."

"Aviana. Congratulations on your job last week. There's going to be a meeting tomorrow night. Eleven. Don't be late," a deep voice said through the receiver.

"Alexander, thank you for the compliment and I wouldn't miss a meeting for the world. I'll see you tomorrow night," Aviana said before hanging up and putting her phone away.

She debated on whether or not to go inside but decided against it, turning around and heading into an alley across the street instead. She leaned against the wall, once again a slightly curvy figure leaning against the wall as she silently watched the entrance.

Kaleb emerged from the safehouse, flicking his lighter to life and igniting the tip of a cigarette that was held firmly between his lips as he walked. His white-blonde hair flopped down over his forehead roguishly, tousled by the evenings cool breeze. His bike was parked across the street and it only took him a few paces to reach it.

It was a sporty bike, a "crotch rocket" as some liked to call it. It's slighter smaller size and lighter weight allowed him a slight advantage in evading the cops or winning street races. It was all black save for a forest green strip that ran down both sides. It was his baby.

He swung a leg over the seat of the bike, resting comfortably on it as he had a thousand times before. His leather jacket that he pulled on had a purple fleur-de-lis spread across the back with the embellished word "Saints" proclaiming his affiliation with one of the city's most prestigous gangs. He had a myriad of tattoos that broadcasted his alliance with the Saints as well, but most of them were covered by the clothes he was wearing.

A flash of red of in the alleyway next to him caught his eyes. He would know Aviana's curvy form anywhere.

"You've got some balls showing your face around here," he called out, cigarette still firmly held between his lips. "The last time I caught an Angel this close to the safehouse he was in the hospital for a week."

Aviana watched and waited silently, the smell of alcohol drifting into her nose was completely intoxicating so to speak. She lifted her head slightly at the acknowledgment from the blond male practically in front of her and smiled even though it didn't meet her eyes. "I could say the same the last time I caught a Saint in general. You should know by now that I know no bounds. I do what I want when I want. I wanted to Ho out and drink but the bar isn't open for another fifteen minutes and watching the oh-so-prestigious Saint safe house was too tempting," she said with a smirk as she pushed her body off the wall.

"I wouldn't necessarily call it balls that I have...eapecially considering you don't know what I got unless you found me so irresistible that you just had to watch me shower just once," she said as she crossed her arms, slowly putting one foot in front of the other as she moved closer to Kaleb, the slight clacking of her boots echoing throughout the alleys. "And another thing...if you wanted to hurt me you would have already. So obviously you don't see me as much of a threat," she said as she watched his moves carefully, the breeze that brushed across her face moving her hair ever so slightly.

She finally got close enough to reach out and slowly ran a finger along his bike, a small smile appearing as she looked up at him. "Probably should wash it," she said before taking a step back, showing no fear, only amusement.

He watched her carefully from his perch on his bike, his blue-grey eyes narrowed slightly. It was a piercing, calculating sort of gaze, and his eyes drifted to the hypnotizing swing of her hips just for a moment longer than was acceptable. He reached up and grasped the cigarette from between his lips, taking an inhale before he removed it to let a trail of smoke creep from both his nostrils.

"You're not worth the effort," he said snidely, albeit arrogantly as well.

Then she put one delicate finger on his bike, and he wanted to smack that smug look off her face with the back of his hand.

"Probably should wash it," she murmured.

He had to hand it to her, Aviana was excellent at showing no fear. She was probably excellent at cards as well with a bluff face like that. A throaty chuckle tore from his throat and he took another drag from the cigarette that burnt it down to the filter. He flicked it away into the street.

"You're lucky I'm feeling generous tonight," he growled. "I've killed men for less."

"A bit touchy are we. Maybe you should get laid. I bet one of the crack whores inside would take pleasure in fucking you at gunpoint," she said with an emotionless voice. "Speaking of..." Without warning, she pulled out her gun and fired two rounds into the tires of his bike. "Now it looks better. Give me one reason I shouldn't kill you right now. It may result in my death but I couldn't give a fuck less," she said as she narrowed her smokey grey eyes at him, pushing her red hair out of her face.

(Sorry it's short...fading in and out of consciousness atm)

If it was one thing Kaleb couldn't stand, it was being disrespected. A little playful banter here and there was fine, but when Aviana plunked two bullets into the tires of his bike he saw red. With a growl, in one fluid motion he leapt off of his bike and advanced on the red-head, paying no heed to her drawn weapon. He twisted the gun out of her hands and in one fluid motion back-handed her so hard that her head whipped around and she stumbled to the side.

"You fucking bitch," he growled.

A familiar sounding engine pulled up alongside the two gang members and Kaleb whipped his head around. It was Ari. She was a relatively new member to the Saints, but Kaleb had become a protective, almost older brother figure to her in the last six months.

She flipped up the visor of her helmet, her blue eyes worried. "You okay, Kaleb?"

"Just dealing with some trash," he called out. "Nothing to worry about."

Ari pulled down the kickstand on her bike, but left it running as she jumped off her bike and walked onto the sidewalk. She eyed the bullet holes in Kaleb's tires, then the red-headed woman in front of them, who was holding the side of her face with one hand. "Should I call AJ?"

Kaleb snorted. "Nothing to concern the boss with," he sneered. "Just a little girl who thinks she can play with the big boys."

Aviana stood silently as she spat out a bit of blood and listened to the conversation. She let out a slight chuckle and turned back to Kaleb. She could take a hit and had learned it was part of the job. "Someone's a bit testy. I take it this is one of the crack whores you're paying to duck you," she said with a smirk as she raised an eyebrow, wiping the blood off her cheek.

Without another word, she pulled her phone out and dialed a number, holding it up to her ear. "Jace...don't sorry about it...find. I'm just having some fun. I'll walk," she said and hung up, keeping it brief so they couldn't trace her.

Running a hand through the tangles of her hair, Aviana gave a smile and brushed her clothes off, picking her gun back up, deciding to do a little test. "You know what. If you're so big and bad..." She thrusted the gun into his hand and backed up with her hands up. She slowly knelt down so see was on both knees and put her hands behind her head. "...Shoot me. Right here. Right now," she said as she kept her eyes on his, holding his gaze with no remorse of her actions.

The metal of the gun was smooth in Kaleb's hands. He shook his head at Aviana ruefully, as he removed the clip from the weapon and unchambered the bullet that was already loaded. It clattered to the pavement, echoing off the alleyway walls.

"It would be a waste of ammunition," he muttered. "But I will keep the gun, so thanks for that."

He spun on his heel, pocketing the weapon in his jacket. Ari worriedly keeping pace beside him as he straddled he straddled her idling bike. He knew leaving more than likely sealed the fate of his bike being destroyed, but if Aviana was stupid enough to do that, she would pay dearly later.

Aviana smirked as she shook her head. "Hmmm what will AJ think? Passing up the opportunity to kill an unarmed Angel. Fascinating," she said as she stood up and smirked. "Keep the gun. Not like I don't have others," she said with a small smile as she skipped over so she was in front of the girl's bike. "I give you opportunities to kill me yet you say no. There's got to be a better reason," she said with a smirk. "Bye crack whore. By Kaeb," she said, winking at him and sending a smile that once again didn't reach her eyes. She thought for a second and pulled her phone out as she walked over to his bike. "Hey Tony. It's Aviana. Yea I need two tires....crotch rocket...yea man...thanks I'll be there in a few," she said with a smirk, waiting for the two to drive off before heading down the street.

It wasn't long before she arrived at a hardware shop and wasted no time buying the tires. "Thanks," she said as she walked out and headed back to the bike, setting about changing both tires. When she finally finished, she discarded fhe old ones and threw a leg over the bike, getting used to the feeling of it. "I could get used to this..." She said softly to herself as she raised an she dow and started it. She wouldn't admit it, but she would know Kaleb's blue-grey eyes anywhere. She pulled one foot up and revved the engine once before pulling off, smirking as she headed back to the safehouse. "My bike now..."

Ari was worried that Kaleb would run the nasty woman over, as she swung onto the bike behind him. But thankfully, he waited until she moved out of the way before peeling out and zooming off down the road. She linked her arms around his waist, leaning with his turns so she didn't go flying off. Rage poured off the blonde man, and Ari wondered who this woman was that had gotten under his skin so bad.

They pulled off the road with a screech in front of one of Kaleb's favorite bars: the Sinner's Dream.

"Who was that?" she asked tenatively, as she swung a leg over the side of the bike in a dismount, removing her helment and stowing it on the back.

Kaleb followed suit and threw a smile back at Ari as they made their way to the bar's entrance. "No one important. Just some dumb bitch."

Ari bit the inside of her cheek. That wasn't the whole truth and both of them knew it, but she wouldn't press the matter for now. They passed through the cloud of smoke that ringed the front door of the bar, many of the patrons waving at Kaleb as the pair of Saints walked by. Once inside, Kaleb made a beeline for the bar, no doubt to take a few shots of whiskey, Ari assumed. She sighed. Drunk Kaleb was not a pleasant man.

"Back already Red?" Like said as he walked outside, his wet and unruly black hair giving away he had just gotten out the shower. He took note of the bike and raised an eyebrow as he watched her pass by, inhaling sharply when he saw the bruised cut on her high cheekbone. "What happened to you and where'd you get the bike?" He asked as he followed her inside. "Just had a little fun and go look at the logo on the bike," she said simply as she headed into the bathroom to clean her cut.

As instructed, Luke made his way outside and took a good look at the bike, the Saints logo standing out to him. When he went back inside, he noticed Aviana come back out of the bathroom, a bandage on the cut. He grabbed her arm and yanked her aside. "You stole a Saints bike?!" He whisper-yelled as he stares at her with accusing brown eyes. "No. He left it," Aviana countered before yanking her arm Aweso. "I'm going to go out and have a couple drinks. I'll be back later," she said and headed outside. Going into an alley, she pulled her pants off, ripping the legs off to make shorts and slipped them back on. She swung a lightly tanned leg over the bike and started it, not worrying about a helmet as she headed to the auto shop.

It didn't take long to have the logo changed from SAINTS to ANGELS BLOOD. She paid and left, heading to the nearest bar. She walked inside, immediately noticing something off about the atmosphere. She knew the change in atmosphere too well and knew that a Saint was near. If outing jt, she headed to the bar, using her swinging hips to potentially lure men to pay for her drinks though they weren't getting anything. She sat down silently and got the bartender's attention. "Straight brandy," she said, running her fingers through her soft red hair.

Ari hung back away from the bar, willing herself to be invisible. She kept a watchful eye on Kaleb, who was already several shots of whiskey deep with no sign of stopping. He was still in the stages of happy drunk, teetering on the edge of falling into sloppy drunk. He was surrounded by drinking acquaintences at the bar, his arm was wrapped firmly around some other girl's waist as the crowd roared with laughter at some story he was telling.

A flash of red made her blood freeze in her veins. It was that woman from earlier, sashaying up to the bar like she owned the place. Ari could see the many hungry stares that followed the Angel's form, and she felt a little pang of envy. But she would have to get Kaleb and get the hell out of there before he realized she was here. That was the last thing they needed, especially since he had already lost his bike.

The crowd was getting thicker around the bar, which was both a blessing and curse. It shielded Kaleb from seeing the Angel woman, but it made it difficult for Ari to reach him. Finally she squeezed through to his side and latched onto his arm. "Kaleb, we need to go, now," she hissed.

"Wha' for," he slurred, leaning the full of his drunken weight on the slim girl. She struggled to prop him upright on the stool. "I jus' startin' to 'ave fun," he drawled, eyes glassy from the booze in his belly.

The sound of a crowd laughing rather loudly drew Aviana's attention quickly. She slowly looked over, the white blonde hair catching her eyes without remorse. She noticed the bartender filling her glass and put her hand up. "Leave the bottle," she said softly and took it from him. Tipping her head back, showing the feminine curve of her throat, she downed half the bottle easily. Slowly feeling a buzz coming in, she stood up and adjusted her clothes, a small smirk playing on her face. She grabbed the bottle and downed some more as she made her way over fearlessly.

Making her way through the crowd, she put on her best act. "Kaleb?! I thought that was you...how are you?" She asked with a menacing smile as she took a swig of the burning alocohol. "I figured I should let you know hat your bike isn't totally trashed...just an Angels logo on it instead," she said as she stole a seat next to him. She felt her phone buzz and pulled it out, seeing it was Jace. Rolling her eyes, she slipped it back into the pocket of her shorts and raised an eyebrow at the girl bein kept close by Kaleb's arm. She felt a slight hint of jealousy but shrugged it off as she grinned. "It feels like I haven't seen you in ages...you either Ari," she said with a raised eyebrow though she didn't look at the girl.

Shit, shit, shit. That woman was making her way over to them. Ari was forcibly reminded of a shark chasing down its prey, such was the look in the Angel's eye. Smartly, the girl perched in Kaleb's lap skittered away when the predatory red-headed female took up the seat next to them. Ari stepped into the small gap between the chairs, blocking Kaleb from the woman with her body.

"Look, we don't want any trouble, alright? We were just leaving, right, Kaleb?"

Kaleb didn't even seem to realize what was going on and lapsed into coversation with one of the men on his other side. He roared with laughter at some lewd joke the other man had said. Ari sighed, she wasn't getting paid enough to deal with this shit.

"You can strip search me sweetheart," Aviana said with a smirk, earning some hoots and hollers from those listening. "I'm not packing. I just simply came over to talk. Not start trouble," she said with a smirk as she raised an eyebrow aat her, crossing her legs ladylike before finishing off the bottle. She turned around and beckoned a stranger over with her finger, sending him a wink to add to the effect.he walked over in a face and leaned against the bar. "What can I get for ya cutie?" He asked with a smirk as he looked over her. "Can you please get me another bottle of brandy?" She asked sweetly, earning a nod as he walked away.

Avi simply turned back around and pushed her hair over her left shoulder with an innocent smile. "I'm not trying anything so how about you calm down just a bit and relax. Have a virgin drink or something because it looks like you're driving home," she added cooly.

Ari bristled; she didn't trust the red-head as far as she could throw her. And she definitely didn't appreciate the veiled insults. "I think we've talked enough for today," she retorted, her voice was more calm than she felt. Before the stanger could return with the Angel's bottle of brandy, Ari turned to Kaleb, ducking under his left arm and pulled him off the barstool.

"Ariiiiii," he crooned drunkenly, stumbling along in time with her steps. "Wher' have you been?"

"I've been here," she replied with a roll of her eyes. This was why she had stopped drinking. Had she been so insufferable like this once? She pushed open the door of the bar with her hip and led the drunken Saint to her bike. Shit, how am I going to get him back to base like this? A few cabs idled nearby, and Ari figured that was her best shot. She hailed one, and loaded Kaleb inside, giving an address one street down from the base. She would follow on her bike and help Kaleb the rest of the way home.

Aviana frowned a bit and took the bottle from the stranger. She got up and clenched her jaw before heading out after the girl, smashing the bottle on the brick. "Fucking whore," she spat coldly and glanced over at her new bike. "I just wanted to have some fun," she said softly to herself and slid onto the bike, pulling off towards a random alley. I wonder... She thought before heading off to the Saints safe house. She parked in the alley across the street and cut the bike off, before heading up to the building. Nodding slightly, she turned and climbed on the bike, speeding off towards the Angel house. Upon arriving, she hopped off quickly and ran inside. "I'll be back," she said as she grabbed Jace's gun. She smiled softly and left once more, returning to the alley. She cut off the bike and slipped the keys into her pocket, making sure the gun was loaded. "I'll get my fun one way or another," she said softly and stayed in the shadows, pulling the hood of her jacket over her head to hide her hair, becoming practically invisible in the night.

It wasn't far at all to get back to base from the bar, except that it had started to rain, and Ari was more than soaked to the bone by the time the cab dropped its cargo off on the sidewalk. Ari parked her bike in front of the safe house and jogged down to where Kaleb swayed on the pavement.

"I don't feel so good," he mumbled.

Oh shit. "We're almost there, Kaleb, come on," she urged.

It was too late, Kaleb turned his head and wretched into the alleyway. The contents of his stomach - mostly whiskey - splashed onto the pavement only to be washed away from by the rain. Ari crinkled her nose and sighed, rubbing Kaleb's back comfortingly until he was done and stood up, wiping his mouth on the back of his hand.

"Okay," he said with a grin. "I feel much better now."

It was probably the best thing he could've done, expelling the liquor before it had a change to metabolize. It would make his hangover much less intense in the morning anyway.

Aviana silently scrunched her nose at the scene and stifled a gag of herself. She was feeling buzzed enough to know she would have a hangover but managed to keep it down as she watched them. When she finally got up enough courageous she held up the gun, aiming it before suddenly finding it hard to kill him. She clenched her jaw angrily at herself and aimed at his shoulder, shooting before putting the gun away and showing her red hair without fear. Se turned and got on the back, pulling out the alleyway as she sped off towards her house. She climbed off and went inside, wringing out her hair without a word. "Red? What's wrong?" Jace asked, earning no reply as she went upstairs to her room, slamming the door and locking it as she paced back and forth. Damn it damn it! What the fuck Avi?!

Ari didn't even hear the gunshot, but she felt Kaleb's body jerk as the bullet caught him in the shoulder. It spun him almost completely around and he clutched at the spot where the bullet had entered with a groan.

"Motherfucker," Ari swore. She whipped her head around, catching sight of that familiar glint of red hair disappearing into the darkness.

It only took minutes to get Kaleb inside. The crashed through the front door. AJ and a few of the other Saints were in the living room.

"Help him!" Ari screamed. The Saints all flew into action, one of them grabbed a first aid kit, while AJ laid out a towel and helped Kaleb lay ontop of it.

"What the fuck happened?" AJ hissed as he put pressure on the wound to stop the blood from gushing everywhere.

"I don't know," Ari stammered. She stood back to let them take care of Kaleb - the sight of blood rendered her useless. "It was-- I think it was that red-headed Angel woman. I'm pretty sure I saw her right after Kaleb got hit."

Aviana clenched her jaw as she punched a hole in the wall, pressing her forehead against it, wondering why she couldn't manage to kill him. "This is not good," she said softly to herself and decided not to dwell on it. She shook her head and grabbed a tank top and a pair of shorts, before heading into the bathroom attatched to her room and closing the door. She started the water and allowed the steam to gather before pulling the bandage off and stepping in the shower, relaxing a bit. When she got out, she got dressed and pulled her hair up into a ponytail and washed her face before walking or and heading downstairs quietly. "Red~" "I'm fine so drop it," Aviana snapped as she turned to the onlooking Angel members. She headed into the kitchen to find something to eat without another word.

Luckily, the bullet had gone through clean, missing any major arteries and bones, so Demetri had said as he bandaged up Kaleb. He had given the blonde a shot of morphine to help with the pain and it had knocked him out cold. His chest softly rose and fell, the noise in the back of his throat wasn't quite a snore.

"Get some sleep, Ari," Demetri said with a small smile. "He'll just have to sleep it off and he'll be back to his normal self in no time."

Ari nodded, pulling her bottom lip between her teeth. She felt like all of this was somehow her fault.

Aviana silently fixed herself a sandwich and devoured it quickly, hoping like hell it would stay down. She couldn't help her mind wandering back to the events that had happened just about two hours ago. Why couldn't she kill him like she intended? Why was she suddenly regretting shooting him at all? She shook her head and sighed. "I'm going to bed," she said simply as she headed upstairs to her room. She closed and locked the door before pullin her shorts and shirt off, the heat in the room overbearing with them on. She slipped onto the bed and closed her eyes silently, taking a deep breath as she forced herself to relax and fall into a deep sleep.
