The Game of Chess.. with Guns. (Sukakun and Chiarra)

She looked from Kieth back to Richard as he told her to fight. She did want to be free, but...she couldn't just leave Richard like this. Sure, he kidnapped her, but...he had taken care of her. She didn't really feel right just leaving him like this, but...she really had no choice. She didn't know how to treat him. She grabbed his shirt with her teeth and started dragging him, hoping she wasn't making this worse. She carefully kept dragging him towards the door though.

A streak of blood follows her as she drags as Richard bleeds from his wounds. The man who served as Richard's partner, the driver Philip, blinks and pauses at the door when he sees Melody dragging Richard through the door. "what..? What are you doing to Richard?" He reaches into his jacket, pulling out a handgun and pointing it at the tiger.

She froze when a man comes into the door and points a gun at her. She let's go of Richards shirt and then she gently nudges him with her head and looks back at the man who sounds just like the driver. She looked back at Richard then and laid down next to him. She hoped he would help him, though she was afraid he was going to shoot her. She would change back if she wouldn't be naked, that would be a lot easier in her situation to explain, but she was stuck as a tiger until she had clothes and privacy.

"God.. Damnit." Philip mumurs when Melody proved to be.. passive in all this .He shakes his head and he kneels down next to Richard, pulling out his phone and punching two buttons. "Yeah. Richard's been hit. No, she's still here. Don't know why. Get the doctor here. Hurry."

Richard slowly peeks open his eyes, and he calls to Melody in a weak voice. "You.. could have.." He then lets out a breath and he reaches out toward the tiger's head, though he couldn't make it, instead the hand falls into the fur of her side. "...Thanks.."

The tall, lanky man with glasses that was with the Blaze's Don nods as he talks on the phone. When the call was terminated, he looks toward his boss. "We found her. Keith took a shot. Took one of theirs down."

Melody huffed in relief when he put the gun away and instead pulled out a phone and called for help. She turned to look at Richard when he spoke and felt his hand on her side. She nudged him softly once more and laid there with him. She had no idea why she cared so much if he lived or died, but...she made her choice, she stayed to make sure he lived.

"Good," James said. "Is she out of there? Or is she still there?" he asked, hoping it was the first one. Though, if Kieth was able to shoot one of them down, he would be rewarded in the aid of getting his princess back.

It took about ten minutes for the doctor to arrive. The mob tended to stay away from the hospital, unless they had one of the local hospital on their list of allies - forcible allies, usauly. The Black Talon, being away from the heart of the city, wasn't so lucky. So they had to depend on.. field medics. The doctor brought Richard back inside and got Philip to pull out the hide-away bed in the couch, and lined it with a fresh linin. He frowns softly as he inspects the bullet hole. "Damnit. We need an X-ray. Go get it from the van. Philip. And unplug the stove and get the 220 plug free."

Philip scampered off and did just that. A mobile X-ray was brought in, and was made to occupy the space and power supply that the stove was formerly taking in. It was a ghetto job, to be sure! But it allowed the doctor to eventually find the bullet, which narrowly missed his lung and is now resting against one of his ribs. The doctor sighs, relieved. "Well, at least he's not going to die."

The man shakes his head at James, frowning. "She.. appears to be staying there.. willingly. A tiger was seen tending to the wounded man. Not killing him. But.. tending to him."

Melody paced the room as the Doctor worked, both from worry, and to give herself something to do to distract her mind. Though, when the doctor said he was going to live she didn't worry so much anymore. It was too late for her to escape now, she was going to have to wait for another distraction. She soon stopped pacing and went back upstairs to where "her" room was and shut the door before quickly turning back into a human and putting on clothes. Then she went back downstairs to watch what was going on.

James didn't know what to think of that. He was worried that they had brainwashed his daughter, and angry because of what she was doing. How could she help them, but...if she was brainwashed then she really didn't have a choice.

Once she was human again, Philip moved over to her. What she saw, was Richard own on the hide-away bed, his right side open and the doctor working with a pair of tweezers, trying to extract the bullet without causing more damage to Richard's body. It was too close to vital organs to just allow to remain in his chest cavity. Philip looks at her and he speaks softly. "Why didn't you run?"

The man adjusts his glasses, looking at James. "Your orders, sir?"

She thought it was pretty gruesome what they were doing to him, but she watched anyways. It was better she was in human form, if she was in her tiger form, she wouldn't have been able to control what she did if she went into a blood frenzy. She may have killed him herself or attacked someone. She wasn't around enough blood on a daily basis to get used to it. The driver spoke to her again and she answered honestly, "I don't know."

James was still quiet for a while, not answering the lanky man. He didn't know what orders to give just yet. Finally though, he spoke up and said, "I want my daughter back. I don't care how you do it, I just want my little girl back."

Philip shakes his head slowly when she gives him an 'I don't know'. He scratches his head a bit and he shrugs a shoulder, trying on a smile. "Well. I think it's a good thing. Makes you a little more.. excuse the pun, human than the rest of us, huh?" He watches the operation going on, his voice dropping. "And sometimes I really wonder if it's really worth it. But we're too far in."

The man with James adjusts his glasses and he nods, starting to place calls. The Blaze were mobilizing, and soon, several cars were darting into Black Talon territory. Which, of course, was noticed by the Black Talons. But so far, nobody's showing up to try to defend this position.

She looked at him and thought about what he said. She may turn into an animal, but she did care about people. He may have kidnapped her, but he never harmed her and took care of her actually. She wanted to stay and help him until he got fully better before trying to escape again, but little did she know that her father was already on the move again.

James sat back, wondering what was up with his daughter. He just couldn't get over the fact that she could be helping an enemy, willingly.

Philip gets a call. He blinks and he listens to it after answering. He looks at Melody and he sighs quietly. "This might be the last time we talk. Your father's made his move. The Blaze are coming." He smiles at her quietly. "And our plan means we have to stay put without any protection. It really sucks being a pawn. You know that? Really sucks."

Her father was coming? After this? She couldn't let him hurt anyone else, but she wanted to stay a little longer. She bit her lip, what was she going to do? There was nothing she could do, just wait and see what happened. She looked back at Richard, wishing the doctor would hurry. "You almost done?" she asked him.

((Idea: What if they take everyone there as hostages (except Melody) to get information and Melody could sneak to check on Richard then))

The doctor frowns as he starts to work on closing Richard up. "Not that it matters. Since I'm caught here and we're probably going to die anyway in their rescue attempt for you."

Richard has his eyes squeezed closed and a long wooden cog between his teeth. Yeah, this was hurting like a summabiotch.

((Hmm. What sort of information would they be looking for?))

((Probably the weaknesses of their don and how they can infiltrate and what not. Stuff like that))

"No," she said. "They won't. I won't let them." She didn't know what she would do, but she had to do something. "Let me go out there, I'll meet them. If they see me and take me then they might not do anything else," she said. Or she may have to convince them not to do anything.

The man with the glasses frowns when he gets a call. He looks at James. "The Black Talons are moving. They're not trying to defend our attack.. they're coming after us! They're sacrificing the house, and your daughter, to get a shot at you!"

Philip shrugs and he gives a slight chuckle. "It's worth a shot. Why not. If it works, we're captured for torture. If it doesn't, we die anyway."

James is getting angry again. He had been reckless, he didn't think this through and now he had endangered his daughter. He didn't know what to do right now. He couldn't think straight. "Suggestions?" he asked angrily.

She gets up and goes outside since they are going to let her and waits for her clan to see her. She waves them down.

The man shakes his head slowly. "Its too late to call the team back. All we can do is call as many of our men here to mount a defense. Either that, or demand negotiations. The less lives thrown away, the better, for both sides."

The black towncars pull up to the house and Blaze members stream out, guns drawn. They blink when they see Melody, out front and by herself, with the few Black Talon members standing behind her, well back and Richard still on the couch, getting bandaged up. One of the men, a black male, frowns as he approaches Melody. "Are you alright, Melody? What's going on here?" He expected a hostage situation..

James nodded, "Well, do whatever we can." He was trying to control his anger, but he needed to go get fresh air and thus he was a tiger again, ready to dig his claws into someone.

She saw the cars pull up and she saw them hesitate when they saw her. "I'm fine," she told him. "I told them if they let me go that you wouldn't harm them, so...they let me go." She walked towards them. "Please don't hurt them." She couldn't beg much, if she did, there was no telling what they would do or think.

The tall man with glasses nods and he makes calls. He glances behind him to see his Don pacing. No, it doesn't look like they're going to be trying to negotiate. "Bring the heavy weaponry." If there was going to be a gunfight, there's going to be assault rifles and perhaps an RPG or three. No pistol-play here!

The black man frowns. "I don't.. this doesn't make sense, Melody. If they wanted you to go free, they wouldn't have.. This is a trap. A trap!" He pulls his gun and starts shooting into the house, which makes the other men join the assault. The Black Talon inside scramble to try to find cover.

James growled. He couldn't think straight, he didn't know what to do. He changed back. "What do you think we should do?" he asked, very irritated at himself and this situation.

Melodies eyes widened when he pulled his gun out and started shooting. She ran to him and tried to knock him down and stop his shooting. "It isn't a trap," she said, the worried look on her face. "I asked them if I could do this. Take them hostage if you want, but this isn't a trap, just don't hurt them."

"Negotiate." Landis, the man with glasses, adjusts them. "Even if all it does is buy time. Time is what we need to get your daughter back and try to re-establish ourselves. Unless you want to play into their hands and have a gun-battle here."

The dark-skinned man cried out when suddenly Melody is throwing herself into the line of fire and holding in to him. He blinks when he stumbles backwards and falls into his rump. "What makes you so sure? They're Black Talons! They're tricking you!"

"Fine, we'll try to negotiate with them," he said angrily.

She sighed and said, "There's only four in there, including a doctor and one of them is badly hurt. I know they are Black Talons, but...they haven't harmed me. They've actually taken good care of me. Take them hostage, but don't kill them. They could be useful, give us more information about their clan." She hoped that would convince him. She was worried about Richard though.

((won't be on until 6 pm tomorrow))

Landis nods and gives James a smile. "They're doing this to bring these kinds of reactions out of you. So being calm and patient, taking careful moves. That will probably be the best way to handle things."

The man shakes his head slowly and he frowns slightly. "It doesn't make any sense, Melody. Why would you have mercy on the enemy? Regardless of if they treated you well or not... we're trying to kill eachother.."

James just glared. He knew he was right, but...patient was nearly impossible when his daughter was at stake. "I'm putting you in charge of the negotiations, though I'm still going to be there to make sure everything goes okay."

She bit her lip, thinking and then thought of the only thing she could think of that would help her in this situation. "Who says I'm having mercy on them? Bring them to my father, they won't get mercy when his hands are on them." It was the truth, her father would probably have fun with them once they were in his hands. She would just need to somehow convince her father not to hurt or kill them. That, would probably be nearly impossible.
