The Game of Chess.. with Guns. (Sukakun and Chiarra)

Richard's voice drops, speaking quietly as he rolls to see who will go first. The game of Monopoly was now underway. "Alice's daughter turned out to be a snitch. She works with the Golden Suns now." He shrugs slowly. "I don't know. I've never been a parent. But even if I had a kid and they switched sides.. I don't think I can stop loving my child."

((I keep intending to check since we've gotten past the starting point. What are your thoughts so far?))

((Love it ^_^ ))

She shut up then. She had no snide remarks or eye rolling or anything. She instead went to change the subject, "Closest to six goes first," she said. She grabbed the other dice to roll as well at the same time. She rolled a two. She snarled.

Richard nods slowly. His die roll comes up.. a one. He shakes his head and he chuckles softly. "Just figures. Set the bar low enough and I'll find a way to struggle underneith it." He smiles softly and he watches Melody closely. So she did have a heart for the Black Talon afterall. While they called different Dons their bosses, they weren't all that different..

(It's bad. I used an online dice roller [ http://www.brockjones.com/dieroller/dice.htm ] and actually did roll a 1.)

((Lol, that's funny. I just randomly put a number down lol))

She smirked then. "See," she said. "Prepare for the butt kicking of your life." She rolled and took her turn. Already she was buying property, just waiting for Richard to land on it and pay up.

(Sorry for the short reply. You mainly want to just briefly skip over these games?)

((Yeah. Its something to help defuse the situation and something to help her open up to him.))

The game goes on. Richard was holding his own. He was a little frugal with his trades, when they got to that phase of the game. "So I'm curious. Are your friends connected with the mob? Or are they friends that you made in.." He looks closely at her face and he tilts his head. "College? You seem.. just a little too old to still be in highschool. Don't take that as an insult though! You're an attractive young lady."

She tilted her head at the board. She was starting to run low on cash, so she stopped making purchases and would just wait for him to land on one of her spots. She did have a house one the orange ones though since she had a monopoly. "I've known them ever since we were very little. Their parents are in the mob too, that's how we know each other. Yes, I go to College though now, thank goodness, it's summer." She didn't look at him once while she was making her move on the board. "Yeah, well, my boyfriend thinks so too," she lied. She didn't have a boyfriend, but for some reason, she was a bit curious as to what he would think. Not that it really mattered she thought to herself. She did have one, though she broke up with him when she found he was cheating on her. Poor boy was scared to death when her father found out, took everything she had to get her dad to not break any of her ex's bones.

"Boyfriend, huh?" He smirks as he glances up at her after adjusting the layout of the properties he had bought so far, glancing them over and what he could see in her stack to see which properties were still up for grabs. "So what's he like? He in college with you? He has to treat you right, or your dad would be pissed." Her having a boyfriend was believable to him. And it wasn't like, right now, he was actually trying to get with her. He stands and moves to another cupboard in the kitchen and he gets two boxes of pocky. He delivers one, chocolate flavored to her side, and he keeps the caramel to himself. Something to nibble on while they played.

"Was, he transferred to another school in another state because my dad scared him bad enough," she said and looked up at him as he moved to go and get some pocky, which she loved. She opened the box and took out one of the sticks and started to chew on it. "I caught him cheating on me and my father threatened to break every single bone in his body."

Richard tilts his head slightly as he nibbles on his own stick, rolling the dice and moving his piece. He forks over $440, since he landed on one of her houses. "Hmm? He was cheating on you, your dad almost killed him, and you're still with him?" He glances up at her and he chuckles. "You deserve better than that. Mob life is going to make you go grey far ahead of schedule. At least have a man who treats you right."

She chuckled. "No, I'm not with him any more. I dumped him good," she said. "I'm not really looking for anyone right now. I don't trust men any more and you just proved me even more right by kidnapping me," she said and took his money before rolling her dice and getting more money from passing go. Of course then, she landed on the income tax space and wound up paying some money.

He chuckles softly and he shakes his head. "Ah, ex-boyfriend, where you left off the ex. Got it." He shrugs a little and he grins at her. "I beg to differ, Melody. Kidnapping you was a strong move, I won't doubt it there. But I've done nothing but take care of you since this happened. It's not like the kidnappings you hear about on TV, where there's sexual assault and a murder in there somewhere, now is there? Am I a mobster, sure. But I try to hold on to my decency."

"Either way, you still kidnapped me just so you can try and hurt my papa," she said. She was frowning now and sighed. She really did hope that her papa wouldn't try anything stupid. She leaned back in her chair and had her hands in her lap, looking at them with a worried look on her face.

Richard looks at her, taking a loose house between his fingers, his index finger toying along the contours of the little green piece of plastic. He shakes his head and he sighs softly. "It's nothing personal toward you. Something personal toward your father? Yeah, it is. Because he's a Don, and all the mobs and the mafias and the gangs here are threatening each other. I really don't know if there's going to be such a thing as peace here, Melody, until all the other groups have been made unable to resist. It's just the life you've been born into."

"I know that," she snapped, glaring at him when he finished speaking. "I'm not some naive little girl that doesn't know anything about her father's job. That doesn't mean I can't worry about him though. Put yourself in my shoes, would you like it if someone went after your father all the time." She remembered when she was a little girl and her dad used to play with her all the time. That was when she was naive about all of this. It was only when he came home hurt real bad one day that she actually understood how dangerous their life was.

"I'm tired of playing," she said. "I want to go to bed...alone. Lock the door from the outside if you must, but I just want to be alone." She wanted to be alone so she could cry without them seeing or hearing her do it. She never let anyone see her cry, not even her dad. She did when she was little, but now she wanted to show everyone how tough she could be and she couldn't do that if she cried all the time.

Richard glances toward the door, and his voice is quiet. "We all know. You know about Alice. Her daughter's still alive and is now working against her. At least you're still your father's daughter, and still loyal to him." He then nods slowly and he looks sympathetic to her. "Alright. Upstairs. Second door to your left. The bathroom is just across the hall from there."

She got up, not saying anything to him. She was mad at him and everyone he worked for and with. She went straight up to "her room" where he said it would be and took her clothes off before turning into a tiger. She then jumped up on the bed and let tears silently fall down her furry face. She eventually cried herself to sleep.

Richard comes out of the kitchen and dining area and he exchanges looks with Alice. Alice heads upstairs, but doesn't go near the room that Melody is in. However, come morning, when Melody wakes and if she goes out into the hallway, she sees a panther laying on the opposite end of the hallway. Not blocking her pathway down stairs, but where an eye can be kept. And once the door opens, if it ever does, one of the panther's eyes open, watching her, but not moving.

She wasn't wanting to come out of her room, but she really didn't have a choice since she was hungry, so she jumped off the bed and opened the door with her paws. There she saw a panther watching her with one eye open and she just rolled her eyes before padding her way down stairs. She went looking for Richard, and when she found him she would growl softly and then look in the direction of the kitchen.

Richard had a PDA in his hand. Yeah, nobody had iPads or things like that here. With an industry that had as much.. turnover.. as the Mob, that kind of expenditure was hard to justify. He sees the Tiger come stalking toward him and he switches off the device, tucking it onto his pocket. "Morning, Melody." He smirks softly at her. "You know, if you want to eat omelet or pancakes, you're going to have to get out of that form. And I prefer to not put my food on the ground."

She growled again at him, not caring what he wanted at this point. She was upset and she preferred to be in her white tiger form when she was upset because she felt less vulnerable in this form. She knew that she could rip his head off in an instant if he didn't transform, but she wouldn't. She would get her way though. She was hungry, and if she had to, she would raid the fridge and drag out anything that looked good. In this form, she could eat raw meat and it didn't bother her.

Richard shakes his head and he gives off a small chuckle. "Okay, okay, Tiger Princess. Breakfast is coming right up." He turns and heads into the kitchen. A skillet receives a pat of butter and put over heat. A mixing bowl gets a cup and a half of milk, two eggs, and cinnamon. Out next is the loaf of bread. That's right. French toast!

((Sorry this is so late. Last couple ofmdays have been crap.)

((It's okay I understand ^_^ ))

She followed him into the kitchen and plopped down onto the floor, watching him as he cooked. It smelt delicious, and from what she could tell it looked like.......french toast? She rolled her eyes, great, now she got to get her fur all sticky. Oh well, she would just "accidentally" make a small mess on the floor and she wouldn't clean it up.

The French toast was plated and he begins to crack some eggs to the skillet. He hummed lightly to himself when the side window to the window suddenly broke. At exactly the same time, Richard fell to the ground! The scent of blood reached Melody's sensitive nose.

Outside, Keith, one of the agents of the Blaze, smirks as he looks up from his rifle scope, sitting cross legged on the roof of a neighbor's house. A smirk spread over his face. "Gotcha!"

Alice and the rest inside the house rush in and gasp. "Richard!!"

Melody just laid there, waiting for breakfast to be served and she licked her maw when he plated the french toast. When the window broke and Richard fell to the ground, she could smell blood and she immediately stood up and quickly padded over to Richard. She was worried, though...she didn't quite understand why. She gently touched him with her nose and then went to the window to investigate.

Richard was in bad shape. It wasn't a headshot but the bullet went downward through his shoulder and into his chest. And when she looks outside, she sees Keith getting ready to quickly go. He grins at her. "FIght, Melody!" And he jumps off the ledge right when Alice and the rest make it outside. Alice starts to run after Keith, and the original driver of the car before sees Melody at the window and curses. Nobody was with her!
