In this game, colonies are mostly located about the border to the ice caps. The poles are uninhabitable for humans, but a clan of Khodai lives there. Some colonies are located further south, about where those caves would be, including Capernaum Colony which I still have not created yet.Oh yeah, that reminds me. Is Babylon also at the poles? You said that most human colonies are at the poles but I wondered if any were in the volcanic caves? I remember them finding caves near a volcano and scientists saying that it could be a possible location for a colony. Although they are close to the equator so it might be hard to get water unless they found ice in the caves. Caves of Mars Project - Wikipedia
In the future, yes.Do you think you could make Zion? I mean since we are doing a lot of Biblical Names here.
Due to the presence of water on Mars, farming is possible, and it is done in "Greenhouses," special buildings filled with the pressure appropriate for growing plants, crops, what have you. (But farming hasn't really been touched yet in this game.) Other methods of earning money on Mars include transportation, construction, and aiding the militiamen by bringing in bounties in exchange for Human Standard Credits (HSC). Those three jobs are some of the more lucrative career choices for Mars' human inhabitants, right before casino operation and straight-up theft. So does anything grow on Mars or is it all shipped in from Earth? Like are there greenhouses where they grow crops? And if nothing is grown how do Martians make money? Like what are the resources and industry that makes Mars profitable to colonize?
Yes. Mining is done, due to rumors of special minerals in Martian soil. Most of it is done for frozen water, though. Is there any Mining on Mars?
True. Iron mining is less common right now, because Martian iron comes in small bits, and there's currently no efficient way to smelt it and turn it into construction materials. So what is mined is shipped off to the Moon (which is far more advanced at this point) to be turned into steel there. Once better smelting technology becomes available on Mars, then iron mining will increase. What about Iron? That is what makes the Martian Planet Red after all.
