The Forgotten Forest

Vaskar looked back at her remaining silent. He wanted to stay with her. Some how it felt right. But he couldn't take them where he needed to go. He turned to look down at Miyuki holding his hand. He half smiled. "It's better this way Miyuki. I can't ask you to follow me to hunt others." He thought for a moment and with his other hand grabbed the talismon that hung around his neck. Placing it in her hand he looked into her eyes. "Take this. It has kept me safe for years and now it will help you. Remember me. He smiled and kissed her icy blue skin on her forehead and bowed. "Maybe someday we will meet again. He stood and turned to leave giving on last smile before walking out the door and into the night.

Miyuki watched him leave, dumbfounded. He disappeared into the night, leaving her. Her lips quivered as she looked down at the talisman he left her. Her eyes started watering, she didn't know why. She gave one last glance outside and closed the door. Slowly, she walked back to Sky, looking at the talisman Before putting it around her neck.

"He left." Miyuki sat down beside Sky, feeling like she lost a friend… and she has.

"Does it hurt?" She asked when her eyes fell on the markings on his skin. She worried for him.

@Silent Nova

As the evil presence slowly faded from around the village the demon finally dead Sky eased up the feeling he had. He then yelled for Joe to come outside and the bartender did so not making eye contact with his use to be favorite brat. Sky didn't bother with him and gave the drink order to him from Albion as Miyuki talked to the man. He wondered how they met or why he was leaving so soon but as she came back over to him looking sad he sat a hand on the top of her head and rubbed her hair gently smiling at her."We'll see him again friends can't always be around you Miyuki just knowing you have them is important enough." He explained to her before bringing his attention back to the markings on his arm. They pulsed a blue and white very lightly but he felt it, like a heartbeat. "No not too much." He said ignoring the aching that went through it. Sky knew that all the answers along with even more mysteries lied over those mountains, he was worried but excited at the same time and wondered if that's where that man was heading. "Are you alright, I know today held us up a little but we'll be heading out to find them soon." He said trying to lighten the mood and bring a lighter tone to this dark place.

Vaskar walked along through the woods outside the village as a single tear soaked a line down his cheek. He did not understand why he had shed a tear, but he knew it was for that girl. Walking along he noticed something was watching him. He almost flinched as a black blade came around a tree, missing him by a mere inch as he slid under it. By the time he recovered from it and now had his sword and dagger out and ready to fight, he could see half a dozen dark figures beginning to surround him. Blade demons as he liked to call them. Baring no weapons but the long blades that grew from the outsides of their arms. He spun the blades in his hands as his eye turned gold. He bowed to the demons and smiled wickedly. "Now we begin."

Tired, sore, thirsty, and covered in blood, Some his, most of it belonging to the once was demon Belecruu; Albion stepped through the door to the tavern. "He's dead Joe..." he grunted, making his way to the bar. His entire front was covered in tainted gore, and bits of demon flesh stuck to his armor. It was just another one of those days. Turning to Sky and his lady friend, he noticed the other guy was gone. "Where's tall, dark, and ominous?" he asked grabbing the new mug and quickly downed it's contents, despite the tainted blood coating his face, he wasn't even deturred in the slightest. This was further proven by the loud belch that followed along with the smacking of his lips. "Hmm... Not bad"

Gripping a blood soaked blade, slightly barried in the ground. Vaskar held on for support as he leaned against a tree. Several bodies lay across the ground around him as he examined the handful of stab wounds over his body. Those demons had put up quite the fight, but Vaskar refused to give up now as he bled heavily. He slowly pulled his pack to him and rummaged through it to find a large root and small powdering bowl and tool. He snapped off a small portion and began to crumble it in his hand, pouring it into the bowl. After using the powdering tool to crush the pieces into powder, he retrieved several strips of wound wraps. He removed his tunic and began to spread the powder over the wounds and wrapping them. As the stinging increased, he retrieved a hard block of leather to bite down on. Slowly he relaxed as all his wounds were treated, he began to clean his gleaming Crimson sword with a large cloth, to return it to its beautiful silver shine along with his dagger. As he cleaned them he thought of his new found friend he left behind. He wondered what she would do if she saw him this way. He sighed not wanting to know the answer. As he sheathed his blades he sat against the tree, outstreaching his legs.

As the man came in the smell of the blood engulfed Sky's nose and it smelled just as bad as it looked and he growled slightly at it. "god where's rain when you want it." he said annoyingly letting out a sigh trying to relax himself a little as it's been a long and odd day throwing him and her completely off track. He laughed slightly,guess that's why they call it an adventure.He thought to himself before bringing his mind back to them. :Just as soon as he came he seemed upset and just left after I thanked him for finding her, he seemed clouded by something but..." Sky had his own wonders about him, he had wondered where he was headed or what he was after and could feel Michal thinking he remembered the face from somewhere as well. He then quickly realized he had stopped talking and began to finish his statement. "I'm sure we'll see him again he seemed to be headed towards the mountains but along them rather straight to them." He yawned slightly and wondered if they should leave now or wait until morning.

Miyuki stared at the people she doesn't know. She stayed close to Sky, afraid. She pulled her hood up, hiding her blue skin. This was the first time she's been in a human establishment. Everything hapening was a first for her.

"Who are you?" She asked, refering to them all. She reached for a chair, touching it with her skin, but where she touched, ice formed. She took her hand back and stood still, not touching anything. She was too afraid, she cant calm her body down. She shivered lightly. Even her insides felt cold.

Vaskar slowly walked along to the next town, hanging his left arm and swinging his sword by his side. He had been attacked by three separate groups of demons. He sighed and sheathed his sword as he walked to the inn. He needed to heal before anything else. Slowly he pushed open the door for everyone to turn in surprise. As he walked up to the keeper he could now hear the whispers of the men sitting at the bar. "What can I do for you." The keeper spoke to him. Holding up one finger, he slid a silver Troy onto the counter. The keeper went to his key rack and pulled down the top one. "Room is upstairs. Let us know if you need anything." He nodded and slowly made his way to the room. He entered the room and closed the door behind him. As he set his pack down he removed his overcoat and tunic showing his bare chest and back. He had multiple wounds that needed to heal. He sighed and began to unbuckle his equipment and pants as a knock at the door sounded. A young women walked through holding a platter of bread cheeses and a wine bottle. As she saw him undressing she screeched and dropped the bottle of wine to cover her eyes. I'm s-so sorry. I shouldn't have barged in like that." Vaskar pulled on his tunic and took the platter from her. "Don't worry about it." He said in a soft tone.

Sliding a couple more silver peices to Joe the Bartender, he headed to the back room to get a quick bath. Demon blood is a bitch to clean once it dries, and is absolutely pungent. Several minutes pass, and he returned cleaned as when he firsts arrived. Even his armor was cleaned, the bits of flesh clearly missing from the sections of plate. Afterwards he headed up the stairs to his typically reserved room, and turned in for the night, the battle against Belecruu taking a lot out of him. Plus the blood loss.

The night continued and eventually Sky and Miyuki had gone up to a room in a nearby tavern that was next to the bar. Sky's sleep was a minimal to say the least from other thoughts and such clouding his mind and he had finally passed out just as morning broke through the sky. he was leaning on the headboard with his head slightly tilted laying gently ontop of Miyuki's and hers laying against his chest though she slept rather comfortably she often woke up to try and get him to go to sleep but usually ended up just falling back to sleep. He enjoyed the help though it brought a smile to his face before he had fallen asleep. The day was a new one and the forest seemed at ease as if no blood shed could ever happen to something so pure. The wind came through the open windows in their room and blew Sky's hair slightly letting it rest on Miyuki's face gently and the lightning that traveled down his hair would land on her cheek and leave a soft warm feeling before leaving them to repeat the process once more. The birds chirped rather loudly this morning as they were close to quiet a few nest in the trees nearby but their sounds were still just a sweet and melodic as they always were. As the sun fully took over the sky the day was ready to begin its new set of challenges and fresh list of adventures for the travelers giving the darkness more time to think of its harsh challenges for them.

As the night went on for Vaskar. It consisted of painful burning as he used herbs and salts to treat his wounds. Making them stop bleeding and would heal four times as fast. Sleep was an impossible feet for him on this night so he decided to sit and ponder. He wondered many things through out the night. Why all of the tracks so sudden. What of Miyuki. Was she good or evil. He knew from the beginning what she was but she was never hostile toward him. If anything she was like his friend at this point. He also wondered of the demon she had approached back in the tavern. Certainly untrusting. Vaskar would not dare set his life in his hands unless he had no choice. Including the choice of taking his own life. As the morning came Vaskar had sharpened his blades packed his gear and cleaned up the room for the maiden he had met in an awkward situation earlier. As he prepared to leave he touch around his neck where he then reminded himself of the token he had given to a new found friend. Maybe they would meet again. He would never know until he was there.

beams of early morning light filtered through the east faceing window, rousing the blood knight from his slumber. Albion groaned in annoyance from the evil light of the sun, as the aches from yesterday's fight along with a slight hangover. "Damn what ever god has domain over the sun..." he groaned, covering his eyes with a hand. Note to self, have Joe put curtains in here. He thought, getting to his feet. Biting his lip, he quickly donned his armour and collected his things, before heading down to the main floor. Upon reaching the ground floor, he spotted said inn keeper and took a seat at his usual spot at the counter. "Morning Joe..." he grumbled as said main came over with a cup of black tea and some red willow bark. Nodding his thanks, Albion began chewing said bark, feeling his aches and hangover start to receed from the natural pain killer. "You need to get some curtains in that room or somthing." Albion said, geeting a shrug from the man. The rest of the morning went on in silence as they waited for the Daemon host and his charge, swapping stories and rumors heard. @Silent Nova @CharmyPie

Miyuki

Miyuki kept waking up in the night to find that sky hasn't even had a wink of sleep. She'd pout and bother him, occasionally lecture him about the importance of sleep. But everytime she tells herself to stay up and watch Sky sleep, she'd fail and doze off. The bed was too comfortable and she was too tired.

She finally woke up as she felt the sun's rays throug her eyelids. Her eyes flickered open and she stretched on the bed. She enjoyed the feeling of the sheets with her icy cold skin. She felt Sky's hair on her face along with the light breeze. Mmm warm. She thought. She heard the song of the birds in the air. She decided that it was going to be a good day. She turned her attention to sky and gave him a smile. Gently and slowly, she scooted herself closer to him. she nuzzled herself on his chest with a smile and enjoyed his warmth. So you finally slept. She felt victorious, for some unknown reason. She decided not to wake him up, yet.

As Vaskar slowly made his way out of the room he noticed the maiden that had barged in on him. She looked at him and smiled awkwardly. Placing his hand over his sword he half bowed to her. She seemed to blush as she hurried down the hall to hide it. Sighing he made his way down the stairs to find the tavern was still filled with brute men. As he was about to make his way outside, he watched as several men stood from their seats at the sight of him. As five large men made their way infront of him to block his path, Vaskar already held a hand over his sword. "Your one of the strangest characters to come through this town. What's your buisness?" The one in the center spat out to him. Vaskar did not look up, keeping his hood low to hide his face. "I'm just a hunter." The man didn't seem to buy it as he laughed. "Well then where is your bow hunter." He sneered. Vaskar now knew this wasn't gonna end easily. Gripping the clip on his sword he unbuckled it and lay it on the floor along with his pack. As he did this the large man stuck a finger out to poke him in the chest. "We don't like your kind in the-." Before he could get another word out Vaskar made his move, grabbing the man by his arm and kicking in his knee to throw him across the room. He wouldn't kill anyone just remind them how dealt it is to pick a fight with a stranger. As another man pulled a knife he juked the stab to grip his arm and twist it, dislocating his shoulder. As the third came around, he spun into a round house kick, sending the man across the room. Now standing, breathing heavy with anger, he turned to the other two men standing in his way. Both of them backed down as he grabbed his pack and reattached his sword. Placing three silver Troys on the bar he looked down to the bartender. "Their next round is on me." The man almost scoffed as Vaskar made his way to the door and disappeared into the sunlight.

The morning finally broke threw to Sky as his ears twitched slightly from the sound of the birds. He couldn't feel his arm because if had falling numb from her laying on it all night. His would remain closed as he took a deep breath allowing him to release himself from his night of torment and restlessness, his ears would slightly twitch again from the morning sounds coming from the window and his dark blue eyes would open with a light glow to them. His lightning would began to travel down his hair once more and around there bodies very lightly. He then gave a slight yawn and rubbed his eyes with the one arm she hadn't killed and tried to clear his vision and get the itching to stop although his vision hadn't gone back to perfect just yet he was free from the deadly itch the he had. He smiled slightly looking down to see how his arm fell asleep and also so the beautiful hair that always kept his heat at bay. He then rose both his arms and grunted slightly stretching them up as far as he could hearing the tiny cracks of his arms revealing a little of his curse mark that pulsed calmly as he did so. He arched his back along with the stretch and in a line his spine popped one by one and it felt like a little piece of heaven. He then relaxed his body once more crashing back on the headboard of the bed and moving his left wrist to try and regain feeling in his arm. He let his eyes drift to the window as he wondered how all these events will impact there journey to the darker side of the forest. He wondered about that man who brought Miyuki back the him, he seemed off but then again nothing about this forest is true so he had no reason to think bad of him though he felt like they would cross again whether it be with swords or words he was happy to find out. Now to figure out what to do with the lard next door. He thought to himself wondering how the mess even came to be in the first place, he rubbed waist gently hoping to slightly wake her so they could get the day started. "Hey, you can't stay here forever." He said quietly and gently yawning slightly as he did so. @CharmyPie

Miyuki groaned a bit. Her eyes fluttered open and she yawned too. She wiggled her hips when she felt his touch. She stretched on the bed and rolled to face him.

"I fell asleep again." She mumbled and gave him a smile. "Good morning!" She said cheerfully. She sat up and stretched some more. "What's our agenda for today?" She asked.

As Vaskar made his way through the town and back into the road, he could constantly feel the eyes of many em and women starring upon him. By the time he made it outside the town he now sensed someone following him. Climbing up into a tree he waited for a small group of men armed with swords and axes. He sighed as he knew the purpose of those weapons and why they were following him. He was tired of being hunted but hose that wanted to enslave him. To fight wars single handedly for a couple try that has no men to spare but enough coin. But Vaskar did not wish for the path of a lone warrior. Sitting in the tree, his thoughts began to drift back to Miyuki. He knew he had feelings for her but he could not develop them. He was a danger to her and he knew it was best to leave when he did. Gripping his sword he began to stand and jump from tree to tree to stay above the small group. He would get past them far enough and then go back to the road. He was tired of running from town to town but he could not stay to be a slave. Freedom from slavery. And vengeance for his clan was all he desired.

He gave a small laugh as she woke and stretched once more before standing his sword and sheath slowly began but form out of small volts of lightning onto his back. "Today is where our adventure starts, I suppose. First we need to go find lard ass and your friend you met. We'll need the help and the company wouldn't be too bad." He groaned slightly. "Ughhh we actually have work to do, your parents are so far from what I'm getting from my demons memory." He kept all the dangerous things to himself not needing her to worry and knowing his deadly brother was also on that side of the mountain, Yea the help would definitely be needed. He stretched one last time and gave a hand out to her so they could head dlback down to his old friends bar to see if grumpy was still there. @CharmyPie @HighSanguinaryPriest @VaskarTheHunter (let's get the show on the road were back boiissand gurlllss :3)

Miyuki gave a nod and a bright smile. She took his hand and felt his warm skin with her icy touch. They were opposites but somehow, it felt right. With her other hand, she gripped the talisman at the mention of her friend. She wondered where he was, and what he was doing, and when she could possibly return it. She let it go when she felt it growing colder, not wanting to encase it in ice.

"We'll have to meet with him again?" The strange man in the tavern gave her the chills. Something about him repelled Miyuki, and she was afraid. He felt deadly. But she didn't want to show Sky that, so she let out a sigh of annoyance.

@Silent Nova

"Where we're heading the help probably will be needed, plus lard ass nagged on with something about me having to control my demon, whatever that meant." Sky knew he could control Michael to an extent but he wanted to see what the man had to show him if anything at all. He did a final check of the room and left with her, they then headed downstairs and he paid the woman at the desk and gave her his thanks for the stay as they left the inn. He made small talk with a few villagers before making his way to the tavern as everyone seemed a bit more lively today and he enjoyed all there smiles. As they entered the bar he seen his so called teacher at the counter and he yelled over to him trying not to make eye contact with his now lost friend behind the bar counter."Hey heavy weight, we're heading out today lets get a move on!." He couldn't help tease the old bastard a little, it made him feel better about the hostile approach yesterday. Sky's aura seemed to be lighter than it was the previous day, as if he was almost completely human but the darkness in and around him still lurked silently. He let out a soft yawn loving the small breeze that had blown through the door and the cool feeling of her next to him, it made him feel a bit more relaxed about the hell hole they were throwing themselves into.That's one, I wonder how far that other guy went. Maybe he was already over the mountain by now, from his scent it seemed he backed tracked through the forest. Sky's eyes scanned the tree line as he thought of where to check or which direction to head in. "Found you." He finally caught the scent clearly and could follow it perfectly ready to start the day with a run. He smiled for a second from the thought but then realized who they would have slowing them down and sighed bringing his eyes back to the bar. @VaskarTheHunter @HighSanguinaryPriest @CharmyPie

Albion simply flipped him the bird, before tossing a couple more silver of the counter. Popping his neck, he followed the two non-humans out of the tavern, strapping Famine to his back as they went. These kids are going to be the death of me. I just know it. Oh well, Atleast i get to see Owen and his daughters again. No! Bad Brain! Dirty Brain! Dick, Stay down! We can get reaquainted with Granuaile and Nessa when we get there. He thought, as he followed the two into the forest. "Wonder if Owen still brews that mead with juniper berries." he said to himself as he opened himself to the forest, stretching out every magical and non-magical sense he had available. All clear for now. I can only sense the boy and his daemon lady friend. I'm still surprised someone of her kind is this far south. he thought taking the lead. These were his forests. His domain. Plus, he practically knew the way, as thoughts of those two Usagimimi girls filled his mind.

As Vaskar finally made his way down from the trees he decided to continue in the forest. But as he walked along he could sense sets of eyes in the shadows watching him. Gripping his sword he began to feel the presence of not the men that were hunting him. But several dark figures cloaked in black. Freeing his blade from its scarab he walked along as many demons began to surround and walk with him. Soon more then two dozen now walked around him chattering their teeth and clicking their talons. As one dressed in a jewel encrested cloak walked up beside him, the demon smiled and parted his fangs to speak. "You are quite the story I have heard of now a days my friend. A lone man wielding a samurai sword and the speed of the wind." He clicked his fingers as Vaskar slowed to a stop and smiled. "I would be given glory for defeating a man that has killed over a thousand of my kind." As Vaskar ignored what the demon had to say he examined the playing field. Swords, knives, claws and a whole lot of speedy little bastards. He was not going to come out of this with a few new scars for prizes. Gripping his sword tight, Vaskar judged where would be the best place to start. With their leader obviously. Cutting him down would give them immediate doubt if they would make it or alive. Then for the biggest one. Judging by the size of the one near his left side, he was the tallest of the bunch. Soon he had the plan set in moments as the demon grinned of his uncanning thoughts of success. He was about to blow his mind with the actual outcome.

Miyuki kept her big cloak covering her body. She didn't like the idea of humans seeing her icy blue skin. The idea was alien to her and it simply felt… wrong. She was desperately curious about things, but she was too scared to actually engage into her curiousity. She kept the hood on her just enough to for her white eyes to see around. She made sure that she was around Sky, so she didn't wander. She didn't fancy getting lost. She wouldn't know what to do, worst case, she'd probably find her way back to the cave she had in the forest… all alone. She shook her head lightly. She didn't want to go back there now that she found friends… someone. Anyone.

She felt the talisman around her neck. A reminder of another friend she has yet to see again. He seemed so… sad.

Her mind snapped back to reality with the smell of liquor and rum. She wrinkled her nose a bit. She's never consumed alcohol before, and she is not eager to, either. She eyed the man on the bar quietly, not wanting to talk to him. She was scared of him, and just being around him hurt her.

Vaskar gripped his sword as the demons began to shift around him waiting for the word of attack from their leader. As the man smiled he spoke in a deadly tone. "Please don't hold back on us samurai." As he finished the word the demon began to swipe across with his talons, attempting to bust Vaskar across the face. As Vaskar's eye shifted he swung his blade with unbelievable speed to slice the demons arm clean off. As all the others turned their attention to their now screaming leader, he made his way to the biggest one sliding on the earth and swinging upward to dicapitate the demon. As the others now came to their senses he watched as three now came at him with swords extended. Using his speed he parried the first, sliced down the second and blocked the third. Leaving each of them in his wake. He turned to finish off both of them with a quick and smooth potion of parries and slashes. Turning to the rest of them, he was met by a kick to the chest he didn't see coming. Recovering with incredible, Vaskar gripped two throwing knives from his belt in his left hand. Distributing them as he slashed through another demon. Slamming both into the necks of two demons standing side by side. Vaskar could hear the voice of his master urging him on. 'Kill them all. They would do the same to you. You are the gavel now judge them for what they are. They shall pay for what they have done.' Feeling the power boil over inside, his eye began to shift from sapphire, to silver taking up half of his eye. Mixing the colors. Soon Vaskar had made quick but heavy work of the large group. Leaving many scars on his shoulders and the rest of his body. Gripping his sword and retrieving the throwing knives. He walked to the leader now cowering on the ground. Growling low in his throat the demon barked. "Come on finish me." With a wicked smile Vaskar completed his request. Sighing long and low he sheathed his sword and went down on his knees. Gripping around his now unique eye, he could feel the rage inside feeding his power. Pushing it outside its boundaries. He needed to find a stone to charge his powers into he decided. Scooting over he slowly leaned back against a tree in the middle of all the bodies. He needed to rest for awhile. He just hoped no demons would appear to try a crack at him too.
