Fantasy The Euphorian Highschool for Empowereds

"Well, it's the least I can do as a thank you." She said walking around the hallway looking for the exit clearly lost again. "Alright Miss Kurishita tell me the way to the exit." She said and it began pointing to a direction which she followed with an unhealthy amount of trust. After 10 minutes, they emerged at the exit. "Thank you!" She smiled and placed it in her sack. She then led him to a cafe and ordered green tea. "What would you like?" She asked
Levi rolled his eyes and grinned as he followed behind here, noticing she was obviously having trouble finding the exit to the place before even seeing her as the spirit to help her. He guessed maybe he'd draw her out a map or something for the next day so she wouldn't get lost. He could have just told her himself but he didn't want to steal the spirits job, after seeing the weird looks from the doll earlier he didn't want to piss off Kurishita either. When they arrived at the café and Seiko asked for his order he hummed in thought for a bit "Uhhhh, some coffee is fine for me" he answered with a nod.

Asako watched the waiter walk off with their order and took a look out the window. She enjoyed the minute or so of comfortable silence until it seemed like Kenai had caught on to what she did. She smiled, pretending to be innocent, "I don't know what you're talking about~" She said. She was aware he would have agreed to buy her ice cream, but just asking for it was boring. "I am totally offended by being called short, by my closest friend too!" She placed a hand over her heart and gripped her shirt, dramatically covering her eyes with her arm pretending to be hurt by his words. "Oh, the pain! It's too much for my fragile heart~"

----------------------

Allen had quirked a brow when it seemed like she was going to protest more, but grinned when she gave in. "Right, just this once, I promise." He said and nodded. He knew she wouldn't let it slide another time, even though he'd be more than willing to spend a little money on her every now and then, but that was just a part of her he was familiar with. He really had nothing to spend his money on, so spending it on friends was nice, that way it wasn't just left there untouched. Maybe he could just buy her small gifts every once in a while, since she refused to let him pay for small things like coffee. He considered gifts a sign of friendship, and they were nice to have, that way you have something to remind you of that friend when you aren't face to face. Though, he wondered if she'd even let him, he could honestly already imagine what she'd say if he were to come up to her with one. "I hope you don't mind me asking, but why are you against having people spend money on you?"
Kenai raised a brow "Oh, I think you and your fragile heart do know" he said laughing at her dramatics about being upset "I am still sorry though I honestly didn't know there was a different in small and short, I mean, Yuna gets mad at either or..." He added, sort of thinking aloud as he tapped his chin.

Ilaani had simply shrugged at his question "I don't know" she answered after, she tilted her head as she thought about the question a bit more "I guess I just think, why is someone wasting their money on me? There's probably more Important things to keep it for...or something" she answered again, giving another shoulder shrug. It was a true answer but she supposed the proper answer was that she spent the former years of life living on other people giving her things when she had first escaped the labs, now that she had a home and was on her feet, she felt she was already in so much debt to others for helping her out over the years that she just felt guilty accepting anything more. But that sounded like a weird reason that didn't make sense she'd feel silly saying it so she didn't mention it.

"Looking at these memories again... Back then, thing weren't so pretty as it is now." She said as she looked at her hand. She began to wander what was the next door open to. "Besides, aren't we still sitting in a cafe...?"
Elliot simply nodded at her words, he couldn't exactly relate but he got what she meant more or less. He looked back at Seria when she asked about being at the café "Well, sort of? I'm nearly 100% sure Eleana probably took our physical selves to the dream realm so we wouldn't be looking passed out in the café like weirdos..."

...♅Akira extended his palm out towards Perfect as his former mentor replied to him, a build up of ki soon forming just infront of his palm and had started swelling with each moment, growing large. He then, to his surprise, heard Perfect announce that he was going to release all those he'd taken. Lowering his hand, the ki blast dissipated, and Akira waited. Soon enough, Akane, Astrid and Skylar was free from Perfect's grasp, with the later laying on the ground, unconscious. He then watched as Akane picked up Perfect by the neck and exchanged words with him. It was then that Akane spoke to him. Akira understood the desire for revenge, and to avenge those she'd lost, and with that in mind, along with the relief that he himself wouldn't have to kill his former master, he accepted to Akane's request♅...

Sure, he's all yours. I have some place to be anyway.

...♅With that being said, a white aura appeared around Akira as he shot off into the air, leaving Perfect at the mercy of Akane, and his destination being the school. He had to finish up the school day, which had been an eventful one if he said so himself♅...

Akane and Perfect watched as Akira flew away. She quietly thanked him as he did by nodding her head and her gaze was soon laid upon the weak and dying Perfect. He was what he desired not to be: weak and afraid. She slammed him into the ground, the concrete under him being crushed and creating a small crater in the ground. Perfect had taken her son's son away from them. She felt at fault... All of this could have been avoided if she weren't taking him lightly.

"I should just kill you right here, right now... But you deserve worst. Far worst."

"I do, I agree with that... But, hear me out."

"You killed my grandson and kidnapped hundreds...No THOUSANDS of innocent people just to lose in the end and not achieve your goal? You're both weak and pathetic. Even if I can bring him back, the feeling of guilt is what makes me upset. These human emotions."

"I... Oddly know how you feel. My partner... Ribbon is her name. A human from this planet of weaklings.... She showed me the joys these lower beings have here... And seeing it made me realize... Why do we need such weak beings here? Created by greatness, only to be mere insects in our world, yet we are able to feel just like them."

Akane raised her fist, ready to deliver her final blow before looking the other way. He was right, but with her family, she could understand why she felt this way. Perfect had managed to get up and looked over in the direction where he sensed Ribbon's energy... He managed to get up to his hands and knees, but his wounds weren't healing once more, and he spoke softly, laughing as he did.

"Ribbon... My only friend on this ball of dirt... You're just a human... Yet I enjoyed your company. Though it seems you won't be the one to kill me. Sorry. Mind if we talk a bit before I go." ( Wicked Jester Wicked Jester )

Akane had decided to leave Perfect temporarily. She knew he wouldn't be able to go anywhere in his condition, so she went to revive her grandson, which didn't take long. He put up a good fight and displayed immense bravery and strength... Especially after losing the red head girl. She'd have to ask Akira about the whole transformation thing.... He seemed like he'd know of it. After reviving Alejandro, Akane took him over to where his friends where all laying, and laid him beside them. She'd have to thank them for their help, so she planned to stick around until they woke up. ( Lumina Lumina )

I'm nearly 100% sure Eleana probably took our physical selves to the dream realm so we wouldn't be looking passed out in the café like weirdos..."
"I see... Well, now what to talk about...?" Seria asked since she was pretty bored and wouldn't mind going at it now. But she still wasn't ready facing whatever hid behind that door. Will it be pain? Suffering? Happiness? Joy? She wasn't sure for certain but seeing how the events played, she would assume the worst.

"Sorry, I don't know anything about coffee." She said and drank her cup of cold ocha. She seemed really embarrassed on it and looked at him apologetically.

Elliot went silent for a bit when she asked what to talk about, narrowing his eyes a little as he thought about it "Uh. I don't know?" He said before looking to the floor infront of him "I-I'm not really a conversationalist. I'm probably the worst person to help with this, Eleana can handle talking people through things much better than me. Sorry" he said looking a bit embarrassed before sighing "I thought maybe you'd want time to...I dunno. Prepare to go in there? That's why I suggested it. So if you're ready to go in there we can." He added as he looked back at Seria again.

Levi had been glancing through his phone as Seiko was grabbing their orders, leaving it down when he heard her return. Levi smiled and shook his head "This works fine for me, Thanks" he said as he took the coffee. He stared at her for a moment as he studied her expression. "Seriously, it's fine, relax" He added as smiled brighter

Seria turned from Elliot and looked at the darkness of the room. Some parts of the room were lit up now. Images lighting up the scenes and places. The castles, the village, the military and even the invasion. There was one that stood out. A girl in red with red hair and her back turned towards them. What surrounded her were bloodied spears, swords, axes and many other variety of weapons. And the orange sky reflecting the sunset. However it didn't look like a nice scene. Seria looked at it and it became a bit blurry then back to clear. It might be the next door that she tried so hard to forget.

"Really?" She said her mood brightening almost instantly smiling. She placed Matsuko on the table near her. She was mostly in her normal smile as if it wasn't alive just staring at him as that was the way he was set down on the table. After a while it finally came to life and it was being fed by Seiko who had ordered a muffin. She also wasn't as hostile to Levi or was just ignoring his presence.

Skylar

It all happened so fast. It was almost similar to what happened with Hyou. One moment she was walking around and fine, and the next there was someone behind her, and the next moment was darkness. She could tell that she was... somewhere, but not really sure where. She couldn't really tell if she was conscious or not, either. It was this weird space of limbo where she just felt like crap. Existing and not existing, also feeling constantly drained, like something was sapping her energy and abilities and everything she was. She felt her body change due to this draining, but of course she couldn't actually tell what that change was. And plus... Whereever this was, she wasn't alone. She had this sense that there was other people here with her, but she couldn't really see them or tell who they were. It was weirdly cold wherever this was, definitely not a pleasant feeling to constantly be having. She wasn't sure how long this was going on, but it felt like an eternity. The coldness started going away, being replaced by a gradual sense of warmness. The feeling of being drained was also going away, and it felt like whatever seemed to have a grip on her was losing the grip. Eventually the warmness took over, and in a flash Skylar was released from Perfect, laying on the ground next to everyone that he had absorbed. It didn't take long for Skylar to wake up, since she essentially been awake the entire time. Skylar's eyes flashed open, and she blinked to reacclimate herself to wherever the hell she was, taking a deep breath for what felt like the first time in days. She definitely wasn't at the school anymore.

Astrid

Unlike Skylar, who had been absorbed by Perfect for a while, she didn't see or feel anything while inside him. Maybe it was from the amount of time she was in there, maybe it was due to her battle-damaged state, but either way, she felt nothing while inside Perfect. It was like she was zonked unconscious, or just dead. But she did remember everything that happened before she was absorbed. They were fighting Perfect, and she was losing, and Alejandro came to help. He got hurt, and when she tried to help him... that was the end of that. Astrid also woke up quickly, though she woke up a little less gracefully, coughing and spluttering from lack of air. Perfect had been holding her up in a chokehold before he absorbed her after all, so she had been running out of air long before. Once her breath returned, so did her thoughts of Alejandro. She wasn't sure what had happened to him once she was absorbed. Looking around frantically, she finally located him, and moved to go to him before realizing that he was unconscious. He looked horrible, like he had died or something. "Aleja-" She started, before stopping herself, looking away with a conflicted look on her face. Did she have the right to even approach him? He was in that state because of her after all, so what right did she have to go to his side?

Elliot sighed quietly and leaned his head back against the wall behind him as she looked away from him without giving any kind of answer, he had assumed his words must have annoyed her or something with her reaction. After a moment or two he had began to spot the memories lighting the once dark wall. Most he recognized as things he had seen while going through the other doors with Seria. His eyes had stopped on the Memory of the sunset and the girl, narrowing his eyes at it as it flickered from bright to clear. He found himself immediately looking to the door next to him, he wasn't 100 percent certain if that was what what would be in there next, but there was only one way to find out... He looked to Seria, standing up as he did so "Are you ready to go in?...the sooner you fave the next door the sooner you can get rid of me and all that..." He said as he rubbed the side of his face, assuming her was bothering her.

Levi nodded "Yeah, really. Thanks" he said smiling until he spotted the doll on the scene again. He stared back at it as it was set down on the table but noted that it wasn't looking at him like it wanted to kill him this time. It was in fact ignoring him as it ate. Well that was a relief he guessed, but the thing still did make him a little uncomfortable because of the faces it was making at him before now. He went ahead and drank his coffee not looking at the doll now "I was thinking maybe I should get you a map of the school somehow, if we're in different classes tomorrow, I won't be able to be there to help you navigate the school" he said as he looked over to Seiko.

After helping the few supers Perfect had got his hands on, Hyou had woken up. Seems like he fully recovered from the knockout blow that, Alejandro gave him. He wasn't upset about it, mainly because he could see that Sky was back... Safe and sound, and because he knew what pushed his friend to the edge. As his friends lay unconscious, he told Akane everything he knew and witnessed about the situation. As the two of them spoke, Perfect remained stuck in the ground, he seemed to be speaking to someone, as long as he didn't pose a threat, they were okay, but Hyou started to feel the energy of his friends again and it drew his attention away from Akane. "They're waking up! I'll tell you the rest later, but for now I have to go and be by my girlfriend's side. Thanks for saving Alejandro by the way." With that, Hyou took no time in running over to Skylar and hugging her. "Damn it, you had me scared! I knew that bug freak had something to do with it... I just knew it." He said, showing no signs of letting her go. In the corner of his eye, he could see Astrid. She seemed sad, and that's when he finally looked over to Alejandro who was still unconscious. He was pretty banged up, but he was breathing.

Akane had watched as Hyou ran over to Skylar, and she soon made her way over to Astrid after hearing her mutter half her grandson's name. She could see that the girl was upset about the situation at hand. She knelt down beside her and placed a hand on her shoulder. "He'll pull through. I'm pretty sure you know that... Probably better than I do." Akane said, standing up once more. She walked over to Alejandro, restoring more of his energy, his eyes slowly opening. Akane had helped him to his feet, and the two conversed for a moment, which was her just thanking him to come to her aid when she needed it. She gave the credit of Perfect being defeated to him and his friends, though it was Akira, she still wanted to give them high praise for such bravery. As their conversation started to come to an end, one named slowly came out of the boy's mouth. "Astrid..."
Akane smiled and nodded. "I'm assuming that's a friend of yours." She responded, only to get no response back. INstead, Alejandro looked towards the ground. He knew she was here, but he couldn't muster the courage to go speak to her. He remember not being able to save her, and being killed in the process. Though the wound was healed, he placed his fingertips on his heart... Right where he was shot. "I... Yeah..." He said, a sad look slowly started to form on his face. "You did everything you could. Don't feel down."

Seria just stood up before turning to the door and slowly opening it. As she opened it, dark energy and aura poured from the door. Though Seria didn't flinch. She only let it consume them both before they appeared at a recruiting table. The younger Seria, now looking a bit older. She had tied up her hair into a messy tail with light armor protecting her. She was at the front of the line for recruitment. She slammed her hand on the table, demanding that she would be let in. "I told you ten times! I know what I'm signing up for. Just let me join the Demon Slayers already! I don't care if you will brand me as a rookie!" The recruiter at the table, old with battle scars on his face gave her a stern look. "I know. But you must remember that you cannot do it alone. You will be in a squad with other Demon Slayers. However I fear that you will only bring the squad down." "But---!!" "Seria! That's enough!" She gritted her teeth before clenching her fist. She then let out an angry exhale as she stormed out of the building, other warriors in line watching her before looking front. "...They wouldn't let me in because I would always go out to fight demons on my own. They wouldn't trust that I'd stick with the squad."

Skylar

Feeling the fresh air around Skylar was a nice feeling. It was actually quite scary to be locked up somewhere, or inside someone in this case. She had just gotten over being in the hospital and had just attended her last physical therapy session the other day, so to be immediately put in another situation fairly similar to it was frankly, terrifying. It was hard to really feel any emotions while being absorbed, as she was just in kind of an exhausted and drained limbo the entire time. Everyone that Perfect had absorbed he was using like a battery. Some more than others, like in the case of Akane, but it still applied. Now that Skylar was free, everything was able to come back. It was hard to sit up, since her body had completely changed and it was in a severely weakened state, so her arms were shaky as she somehow managed to push herself into a sitting position. And it took her a moment to register that Hyou was around. It wasn't until his arms were wrapped around her in a tight hug that wasn't letting go did her emotions come around, and sobs wracked the currently frail bluenette. "Hyou..." she managed, before the tears forced her words to stutter. "I-I was s-so s-scared...!" She was pretty emotionally strong, but it seemed like the world was against her lately, and it was obviously taking it's toll. Her arms grasped Hyou as tight as they could as she cried into his chest, her small body shaking against his, sincerely glad to see him.

Astrid

Astrid hadn't been absorbed nearly as long as Skylar or Akane had, so she hadn't really felt much of the effects of his power draining as they had. But she was still pretty beat up before he absorbed her, and was just as beat up and tired afterward. She managed to get to her feet, and that was when Akane approached her and tried to comfort her about Alejandro. Though, it was about Alejandro's condition, and that wasn't what she was concerned about. Of course she knew he'd pull through. He always did, despite any worries she ever had, so there was no reason for her to worry about that. It was something else that was bothering her, something that Akane wouldn't be able to fix by talking to her. Looking around, she noticed that everyone in the arena was paired up with someone they cared about. Hyou had finally found Sky again, and it didn't look like they were going to be apart for a while. And Alejandro was finally reunited with his grandmother, someone who she knew was important to him. And then there was her. Alone. An unneeded burden. Seeing this, her "place" was cemented in her mind. "Right. I get it." she mumbled to herself before leaving the area while nobody was watching, heading toward a nearby uninhabited wooded area.

Rini smiled as the small girl dashed over and hugged her legs, she was relieved Chiharu had stayed put this time, she guessed buying that kid stuff payed off after all. "Hey there!" She answered as she patted the girls head. It was only now that Rini was looking around her home and taking in what a mess it was. Food and toys strewn absolutely. everywhere. Her expression had dropped completely at seeing her home and Chiharu too, who was also covered in food. "Oh gosh..." She mumbled to herself. She didn't yell at Chiharu or act annoyed about the mess however, she didn't think she could even bring herself to do that if she were honest. She don't smiled gently as she looked back down at the girl "It seems you had quite an eventful day here today hadn't you." She spoked as she had managed to move Chiharu from her legs an knelled down to her level "But messes like this don't really look nice and can't be left behind when we do have days like that, especially if we are going to be cooking dinner, we can't do that in a mess can we?" She said tilting her head "Let's say we get this and you cleaned up so we can make some food and go see Misafune" she wasn't sure if that was the right way to handle the situation, after all she didn't exactly have experience and she honestly should have expected it with Chiharu being alone all day.

Chiharu

Being as young as she was, Chiharu didn't quite understand the gravity of what she had done. She was just enjoying her time while waiting for her mama and papa to get home. She had been trying to be as careful as possible, but with her short attention span it hadn't lasted for very long. She looked up at Rini, her expression looking confused as the older girl's expression dropped. Did she do something wrong? She hoped not! As Rini asked if she had an eventful day, her smile returned and she looked up at her mama, nodding as she did so. "Yeah! The toys you got me were super fun! You should play with me!" But it didn't seem like Rini wanted to play, she was a little more concerned with the mess, which Chiharu didn't really understand. It was just her toys and food, what was so wrong with it? Apparently Rini seemed to think it wasn't so good, so her smile fell a little and she nodded at Rini's question about the mess. Then she mentioned if she cleaned up, they'd be able to make food for Misafune. That definitely perked her attention, and she let go of Rini's legs and bounced in place. "Yeah! I wanna see Papa!" she exclaimed, looking just as excited as she had when Rini entered the dorm.

Ikuto then closed the gap between them gently and planted his first real genuine kiss on her lips, snuggling into her as he did this, beginning to kiss her softly and gently. He had never met somebody so honest and nice to him. He was nervous for the first time ever... And it wasn't a bad nervous. It was a nervous he could cling onto forever. He was so grateful to Sakura right at this very moment, thankful she could make him feel like this. He could have honestly never asked for anything better as he kept her in his tight warm embrace.
Her eyes widened when she felt his lips connect with hers. It was a strange feeling, but she didn't dislike it. She pushed away her embarrassment and kissed him back, Sakura wasn't skilled in kissing, though it wasn't the very first time she has, but this one felt better to her, she was actually doing it with someone that cared for her. She pulled away when she ended up needing air, looking anywhere but at his face. She was too flustered to make eye contact, and she was nervous that she hadn't done a good job at returning the kiss.

Asako smiled, "I really don't care if you call me short, it'd be different if you were actually using it as an insult, but if it's just to tease me or mess around, I don't mind." She stated. "Does she? Well, that makes sense, we're all different~ I think being short has its perks, I can fit into small spaces, so if I don't want to be found, I can hide in small places people wouldn't think to look. It also makes me 10x cuter than I already am, so there's that too~" She grinned, returning to being her usual cocky self

Allen listened. He nodded when she was finished, it made sense she couldn't come up with a solid reason why, it's just what she does. "That makes sense in a way. You just don't see the point in having someone spend money on you when you're perfectly capable of buying it yourself. Though, you shouldn't consider it as someone wasting it on you, or at least when I do. It's more of a token of appreciation for you putting up with me, I've been told I can be frustrating at times." He said and chuckled. Maybe him spending money on friends was just him being afraid it was all he had to offer, he didn't entirely know why he felt the need to do it either. In his eyes, he wasn't an interesting person, and with the way he was treated by others growing up when he couldn't hide the way his eye looked, it was hard not to be afraid just being him alone wasn't enough.

"I-I was s-so s-scared...!" Without prior warning, Hyou picked up Skylar, carrying her bridal style. "I'm taking you back to campus... After what you've been through, you could use your rest, and I feel we should leave the others alone for awhile. I have a feeling in my gut that it's gonna get real emotional here." He said, smiling a bit. "Think less of what happened and more about what's to come... And I'm gonna keep a close eye on you from now own, so don't leave my side." Hyou then notified Akane and Alejandro that he was going to be leaving to take Skylar to a safer location. He decided not to fly or anything, but inside walk and allow for Skylar to relax in his arms. "This day has been hell, but I can only imagine what you've been through. You're a strong woman... Able to survive so much. I can see why I'm so drawn to you now." Hyou laughed a bit. "I love you, Skylar."

After Hyou had said goodbye to Akane and Alejandro, the two remained along with Perfect. Alejandro had caught a glimpse of where Astrid had went, but he was bound by the fear of having to see her upset. He didn't want to see her that way, but at the same time, he wanted to go and comfort her. Akane noticed this and knew what was going on the moment she saw the look on her grandson's face. "Progress is never made if the steps are never completed. Holding yourself back isn't going to help you in anyway. Go." She told him, and without a word, Alejandro found himself slowly walking towards the woods. Those steps gradually sped up before he ended up in a full fledged sprint. It was about time he told her this. His mind had been racing along with him this entire time. Pushing thoughts as fast as he ran. About time he caught up with her, he couldn't muster her name, but just as he was told before, holding back won't help. "Astrid..." He said softly, taking the same pace as he did when he first started walking. He stepped closer and closer.

Mizuki was indeed heading to the door leading outside, thinking that would clear her head but she was stopped by a hand grabbing her arm. Feeling the hand touch her arm she had immediately stopped and tensed up. Her mind had stuck at one vision in particular she could feel everything around her, see her home in ruin, not knowing what had caused it, everything was dark, apart from the flames that had taken some buildings and she could see a shadowy figure standing in the middle of it all, just staring at her. She looked visibly upset and even when she had been grabbed and her clouded over eyes gazed back at Kansuke, she could see him, yes. But her mind had inserted him into the backdrop of her vision of her burning homeland and the shadowed man. As she looked at Kansuke, he seemed unaffected by what she was seeing, not reacting to anything but her, she realised that he obviously wasn't seeing it with her.

After noticing this fact it took a moment or two but her mind had seemed to calm down, the vision melted away, her body had relaxed somewhat and her eyes had cleared out, her gaze now completely focused on the boy holding her arm in the school corridor. "I-I'm... No...I just- I mean, Yes." She closed her eyes for a moment and took a breath "Yeah, I'm alright." She answered quietly. She looked off the the side, looking a bit embarrassed if anything, after all she did just run out of the room like a crazy person and taking a look over Kansuke's shoulder she could spot a few students staring out the doorway from the classroom at them, so she knew she had caused a fuss. "I just...needed some air..." She said with a gentle nod, watching the viewers loosing interest and proceeding to go back to their music class before looking back at him. "I guess I had a bit of a...uh. moment there..." She knew that what she had seen was all in her head but it felt so real that she was now worried about her home, what if that had actually happened?

Kansuke

Seeing Mizuki like this was worrying. He definitely had this feeling that they were somehow connected, especially with how they were from the same homeland. That was for sure. But it was this underlying worry for her well-being that was confusing her now. Seeing her acting strange worried him to his core, which didn't make sense since they had only recently met. Either way, he wasn't going to deny the feeling, she felt way too important to ignore the feelings. So that meant staying by her side for the time being, trying to figure out what the heck was happening. His hands didn't move from her shoulders, hoping that it would steady her somehow. Even with his grip it still took her a little bit to come back to reality, and her confusing and stumbling over her words only added to his growing anxiety. Something was going on with her, and something in him wanted to help her. Maybe it's because it felt natural to help her or something. His eyes stayed on her own, never wavering. "Mizuki..." Kansuke spoke softly, his voice full of concern. "I don't mean to pry but.. what was that? What's going on?" She hoped that she had the same feelings he did, the feelings of being able to trust this near-stranger. He wanted to help in any way he can, and the only way he could really begin to do this was if she was willing to open up a little bit.

Skylar

The tears didn't seem to want to stop, though her sobs did. Skylar didn't even protest as Hyou picked her up, unlike most times. She was pretty light and skinny for her age and height, so he liked to mess with her by picking her up when she was least expecting it, and it got her every time. But this time there was no protest, no squeaks of surprise or yelling at him to stop it. Having been reunited with Hyou after such an experience, and with the state her body was in, she was in no state to protest anyways, not that she wanted to. She was glad to be back in her arms, which was the place she felt the most secure. Which is saying a lot considering how they met. As he spoke, she buried her face into the fabric of his shirt, immediately noticing that it smelled just like him. It was a nice smell. Cool and fresh, yet with a hint of something warm like... cinnamon, or new books. She nodded as he told her he was going to keep an eye on her and to not leave his side. After something like this, she was more than glad to comply. She probably wouldn't be comfortable being on her own for a while anyways, so that plan would work nicely. Her voice hurt from crying, so she just tiredly nodded once more and tightened her grip as he told her he loved her. She wanted to say it back, but didn't have the energy to. And deep down, she knew she didn't have to say it for him to know that she felt the same. Skylar made a mental note to thank him later for deciding to walk home rather than fly.

Astrid

She had actually made it pretty far into the forest by the time that Alejandro had decided to come after her. Astrid's train of thought was that she didn't need to be with the rest of them. She deserved to be by herself. Where she couldn't get in anyone's way or cause anyone more trouble. Though she'd deny it, there was a part of her that really hoped Alejandro would come after her, though she figured there was no way that was going to happen. They were just teammates. Half the time they were at each other's throats. There was no way that he could actually care about her. There was no way that he could possibly feel the same way about her that she did about him. Especially after the events of what happened with Perfect, she was completely convinced of these things. So it really took her by surprise to hear him call out her name not many feet behind her in the forest. Not her nickname, but her real name. She hadn't heard him call her that in... well, a long time. The surprise of hearing his voice caused her pace to stop momentarily, her mind registering that it was actually him. But the moment passed, and the fear of getting even more emotional spurred Astrid to keep walking. The way she saw it, the best thing to do would be to push him away, to keep him from getting any closer, to keep him from getting hurt again. "Leave me alone, Alejandro." She spoke as she kept walking, her voice cracking at the very end with emotion despite her best efforts keep it cold and emotionless.

Ryft-MK80

Apparently arriving to class late and having a smaller stature made Ryft an ideal target for bullies. The school day seemed to pass by fairly uneventful, but it was after school that he was approached by a group of four guys who he recognized from his magic control class. One of the first things they did in class was one of those cheesy introductions where you go in a circle and say a small snippet about yourself so the whole class gets to officially meet you. The point of that particular exercise in that particular class was to get a sense of the different abilities of the students of the class. Since Ryfts ability is heavily dependant on linking with someone else, they thought it made him even more weak. To prove their point, they cornered him after school and beat him up, throwing insults left and right. When they were done, they left, walking away laughing. His face took some damage, with a bruise forming under his left eye and blood dripping out of his nose. His clothes were disshevelled and a little ripped, and his gut where they aimed the most kicks was sore as he pushed himself up against the wall into a standing position. He sighed, leaning against the wall, wondering if this was going to be the norm of his school career.

Alejandro had stood there, looking at Astrid. He was happy she had heard him, because he felt as if he were speaking too softly, but he couldn't help it. His emotions were the dominant part of him right now, rather than... Nothing. He felt more human than anything right now. Vulnerable and weak, but all for her, and that was reason enough for him. When she stopped walking, he was happy, but her words caught him off guard. He stopped dead in his tracks and his gaze slowly dropped towards the ground. He simply thought them over for a bit. "No." He said, shaking his head. "I can't. Not without you." Alejandro slowly raised his head, looking at her. He could tell something was wrong. It was a bit odd for Astrid to act so... Like this. Different. He didn't like it, but then again he was being a bit odd himself. She probably knew that too. "You're my partner... My friend...You're someone I need more than anyone right now, because after what we went through back there... You're the one I wanted to protect most in the end."

Astrid

Of course, Astrid knew that he wouldn't just leave after she told him to. He was far too stubborn for that. But there was a part of her that hoped he would, so she could even more completely escape her feelings. She was horrible with dealing with these kinds of emotions, so it was just easier to distance from them. But it seemed like Alejandro had other ideas. Without even really meaning to, she found herself stopped as soon as he told her no, almost as if she was waiting for him to say that. Her throat immediately got tight, emotions already threatening to break through as she stood there for a moment. She listened to him explain himself, saying how she was the one he wanted to protect most in the end. And that did it. Astrid turned around, a mixed expression on her face. Sadness mixed with denial and a bunch of other upset emotions on her face as the first tears began to form and fall down her cheeks. "Don't!" she called, not even stopping her voice from cracking. She shook her head, as if she was trying to deny the words he was saying. "Don't... don't say that...." The pent up emotions were affecting her body, making her lose the little strength she had in her legs left from the battle. She fell to her knees, her head hanging a little forward as her hands dug into the dirt beneath her. "Don't say it like that. You don't need me. I couldn't do anything back there, and because of me you got hurt. All I did was get in the way and cause you trouble! What kind of partner is that?? Partners are supposed to be equal! We... we're supposed to protect each other. I have your back, and you have mine. What What right do I have to be by the side of the person I love if I can't protect them?!" She stared at the ground, sobs forming as she laid out her feelings for him without a filter. Feelings she had been keeping deep down for a while now that she planned to never let him see. Too late for that now, it seemed. "Y-you'll be better off without me, I'll leave you alone from n-now on." She spoke this knowing that it was exactly the opposite of what she wanted, but it was what she thought would be best for him at the moment. And she really did want the best for him.

Alejandro couldn't keep his composure. After a while, he kind of felt a wave of sadness wash over him. Especially when Astrid started to cry... And if he wasn't mistaking... She said that she loved him. When she dropped to her knees, he soon followed, looking her in the eyes. "I'm not going to lie to you, Astrid. You were my main focus. I don't care if you can't protect me, or if I make it hard for you to protect me... I value you more than I value myself." He said, shaking his head. "As crazy as it sounds... I've grown to love you and I can't help myself when I see you struggle or in pain... And you are my partner. We are equals... When we went out on that battlefield, we both got our asses handed to us. You didn't cause me any harm, I caused myself harm. It was my choice to fight him, you didn't make me." Alejandro placed his hands on Astrid's shoulders. "I look to you for strength. No one else. Seeing you like this is something I'd never expect, because you're so independent, and strong. I depend on you more than you think. I look to you because... I really do... Love you." Alejandro let her go, and he stood up, wiping his eyes. He couldn't believe he was crying. It was a disgusting feeling, but at the same time, he was just as emotional as Astrid at the moment. That was something he'd never understand, even in death. Alejandro reached a hand down to Astrid and he sighed a bit, "Don't change on me now... I want you around... No, I NEED you. Without you I'd be lost at this point... And I can't imagine doing anything else without you by my side. That includes fighting, training, even the more simple stuff like just going on a walk. I'd rather you be there than not..."
