I know that Odea was already accepted, but may I request one last rewrite of her Bio? I feel like the new backstory that I wrote for her will be far less cringe-inducing and incongruous in speech and content...hopefully...

Sure, go ahead. Thanks for letting me know.

Okay done with my cs sorry it took so much time I was too tired yesterday.

Some notes:

1.Yes back of his left palm means back of his left hand

2.Changed explosive shot to paralyzing shot

3.Change houyi to Ullr.

Was your name always Ullr? Because if so, I didn't notice :V

Alright, it's about time we get started. It's your choice where your character starts, whether you want to RP them just waking up inside the dungeon, waking up post-rescue in a god's guild, RPing them joining a guild, or having them already a part of a guild and going to go explore the dungeon for the first time today. If you want to form a party, the plaza outside the dungeon is a good place to congregate.

I'll go post now. I prefer writing my posts in 2nd person narrative, but don't feel obligated to follow suit. (In fact, I recommend 3rd person) Don't feel obligated to make posts as long as my first either.

Then waiting to hear every ones else names and classes
Friendly reminder~

A character's class and first skill (Unless that skill is a spell-unless they're a blue mage) are only discovered after entering the dungeon. One can make an easy guess beforehand, like that Avant is a warrior or Sagitta a sniper, but they could be completely wrong. They can only know for sure once the god has updated their insignia for the first time, where it gains that information.

Oh oops I meant more like basic type of fighting style like warrior mage etc not a specific class but yea I will change it.

Does everyone agree to party control? Aka the person writing the post for the group can dictate the basic actions of the other members of the party. Basic party control etiquette means that the controller will only dictate actions, and not thoughts and feelings. They also won't do anything that will disadvantage that character unreasonably or bring them into an unreasonable amount of harm. Or take any unreasonable action really.

It will speed up the dungeoning quite a bit, and make life much easier.

I'm cool with it. Also try not to RP characters out of character either. And probably should add in that if the owner of a character wants something changed because it doesn't fit/make sense for their character, the writer should change it.

Sure, maybe a little party control. So now we're in the dungeon, at last.

Any particular rules with battling? Who decides difficulty and quantity of enemy?

Yourselves.

It's the first floor, so there isn't any monster too crazy mucking about, but progression ("experience"?) is more strongly based in struggles rather than how many enemies you defeat.

So how much mana do we have? How do we know when we run out?

What are our stats? We've been blessed by our guilds so our stats are "increased".

Also, weak monsters have too small magic stones to take, right?

As it says in the overview, specific quantities of mana won't be kept track of. It's up to you to RP your character's mana limits the same way you would RP them getting tired.

Blessings don't actually increase stats. They just allow them to be increased. The first time in the dungeon, everyone is basically an ordinary human. As an adventurer trains themselves, these stats don't just increase automatically. When they return to the guild after a day of adventuring, the gods can 'update' their insignia, which allows all the training they did to increase their statistics. Simple fighting like what Renge has been doing might not increase statistics fast enough that you immediately feel the difference or can start doing things a human wouldn't be able to, but as you take hits, you find you're able to weather more; as you run around, you find you're able to run faster, and as you hit things, you find you're able to hit harder once the insignia is updated.

Weak monsters have small magic stones, comparable to pebbles. The slime's stone was more medium-small sized because it was made up of a bunch of tiny slimes. You can still take them and cash them in for profit, but they aren't worth too much.

While I'm clarifying things, it's standard practice to bring the magic stones to the guild association in the center of town and cash them in there before bringing the money back to the guild and giving the god a slice.

Tsukuyomi is just scamming Renge

Okay, do we have stats now or will we find out our stats when we return to our guilds?

Also, when we return to our guilds, our gods would give us basic equip, like what?

The stats won't ever be specifically given. Unusual stat biases would be acknowledged though. (ie Endurance Mage) Levels is where one derives their prestige of "oh that guy has high stats."

It's standard for guilds to provide basic equipment for their adventurers. Not everyone actually uses them though, since getting hurt is a way to train one's Endurance. (To say nothing of the actual aesthetics) That being said, using armor and fighting stronger monsters is considered the more effective way to train.

SAM SABLE
In a rough scrape, Sam slices through the orange globs that came too close to Soren.

"Getting tired already, Soren?? Haven't you eaten?"

He picks up three Magic Stones and added them to his collection.

His stomach growls. "Man, now I'm hungry."

Peppered salmon with lemon. Sam could salivate.

But then an orange goop drops from above. It sticks to his armor.

Plop. Some more torpedo down in the background.

"Whoa! Guys, head up!" Sam slices one in halves before it could reach his face.

The one that stuck to his armor begins crawling towards his cheek, glowing red.

"Okay, that looks nasty! Gerroff!" He snarls. Within seconds, he visualizes Thoth.

The long hooked beak turns. Vigilant yellow eyes, pitch black pupils. Bristled feathers.

Focus... Sam suddenly unleashes a memory ten years back.

"Sam!" that harsh whisper came. His mother gripped his face. She hissed, "Watch! Focus!"

He was twelve, sitting on that stool in the cellar house. Mother, saying no more, wielded a blade between them. She held out a palm.

Somehow, a blue ring of light flared up. This made a mandala onto the blade, a seal. Mother hissed, "Mana Thief!"

Sam returns to the present. In a blink, he mimics the Mana Thief Skill and applies it to his sword.

The burning hot ooze rolls up to his face.

"Nice try!" Sam pierces it. The red aura transfers to the blade, completely absorbed.

The glob melts, bubbling away like boiling Jell-o. He gains another Magic Stone and pockets it with the rest.

"I propose a lunch break..." Sam announces. "Peppered salmon with lemon, anyone?"

1. Poofs out of the room he's currently in in order to save Soren when he should have had no idea he was in trouble, or otherwise had to follow him first.

2. Kills all the monsters with absolutely no effort and takes away the entire fight from Soren in the process.

3. Mana thief is not a damage-increasing spell.

1. Oops, I thought Soren was in the same room... Where is everyone?? Sorry for confusion!

2. I can edit that if taking away a fight with orange globs seem unfair. I thought teamplayers watch each other's back.

3. Yes, Mana Thief doesn't deal or increase damage. It's an activated seal on the blade itself. The blade makes the damage.

The point to activating the Mana Thief is to take some mana. So by taking the orange glob's mana, it can't do the red aura thing.

What's in the other room is a mix of orange orbs (from earlier) and slimes. O.o Soren went off by himself because he's bad at being a teamplayer.

I would prefer to have Soren deal with the orbs on his own because I want to improve my battle scene writing. But if you want to have your character follow and intervene, that's perfectly fine too.

You mentioned that Mana Thief takes some mana. Not all, meaning that the orange orb can still use it. (It's a low mana cost skill/spell). Probably need to land several hits with it before they are unable to use it.

Soren wandered off from the rest of the group, going ahead to fight monsters by himself. It's ultimately up to you whether you want to edit or retract your post. I won't say you can't mow them down if you really want to, just know that the quality of fights matters more than the quantity. IceSolstice has said what she wants to do.

I know the mana pools of monsters are undoubtedly ambiguous, but one slice shouldn't really drain them of all their mana. If it could do that in a pvp context, it would be hands-down broken. I initially thought it weird you chose a mana draining spell to start with, since the only thing that uses mana the character would have for a while is the spell itself. Since this is the first instance of you using it, it's not too late to change it if you really want to, like Soren did with his choice of first skill.

I intentionally left it ambiguous, but should be in the ballpark of a low number of months.

Unrelatedly, anyone I don't already know here have a steam account? Open communication over it is pretty useful.

perfect. thanks! i just wanted to make sure. On steam I am LordCabuj. feel free to add me.

Updated character picture to better reflect what Soren looks like. I think people haven't referred to his appearance all that much, but sorry for any inconvenience.

How does turning in things to the Guild Association work? Just bring it to the front desk and they'll give you the gold in exchange? Do they provide any other services there?
