The Discovery of Heirs -(OOC/Sign up)

It would have been enjoyable to watch had I not been suffering from serious feels myself. I'm not letting her watch The Search for Spock until she's caught up, though, so she's kinda at my throat about it.


Understandably so. She's rapidly developing a TOS Kirk muse (and writes him absolutely perfectly, despite still being introduced) so the need to get to something in which Spock is no longer dead... it's really eating at her. Very enjoyable, though.


...she's also super pushing me to finish her uniform, since we're likely going to cosplay our favourite Space Husbands (especially since her eyes are the exact same shade of hazel, and since I can, with the proper use of elevated boots, make us have the right height ratio...), so it's kidna a life of non-stop Star Trek pestering right now. Which... I'm pretty okay with, actually. It's new to have friends who actually care about it, and quite refreshing. And getting to actually date someone who plays Kirk (and doesn't just play Kirk, but plays him well) when I myself play Spock, well...

I went to a convention once and was able to get first place in a contest with my Spock, while my friend got third with her Uhura.
 
That's awesome! Yeah, I... I absolutely adore playing my Spock, though he's somewhat hard to pull off at Cons because I'm such an emotional, tactile person. Somehow I manage to pull it off, though!


I'm currently working on my new movie cosplay for him, but it's a pain - the patterns on that shirt! And since I do all the detail by hand and couldn't find material that worked for it... I'm laboriously patterning it myself with a handmade stamp and fabric dye. It'll look awesome once it's done, but...


...oh. Eugh. After it's done I have to do Kirk's for the better half, (and her Scotty and bones but I'm thinking she can just borrow my Spock shirt for McCoy since we won't be cosplaying them at the same time, since we get to use nifty pins instead of ironing on badges with the reboot uniforms, that's probably what I'll do for my little Chekov)...


...and then I have to make her the Fat Shirt. Because she's going to want something lighter at Sac so I know she'll want to change into it halfway through her Kirk day even if she says she doesn't want to wear it right now
 
Making the costumes is a tedious process, but it's rewarding when you finish and get to wear your work. The conventions are always fun and there are moments that make you want to laugh, especially if you have a friend dressed as a Redshirt who goes around the building dying in random places every chance they get.
 
Mm-hmm. And the Star Trek uniforms are generally really simple. Especially the non-reboot stuff. Her Kirk is so close to done, I just need to run down to the store and get some stuff for the cuffs is all.

Aghg, and I'm sorry for my equally as late reply xC


And I won't be on much today, it's my mother's birthday so I'm going to give her lots of attention. c: But when I get the chance, I'll get a character made.
 
Plume's going through some family stuff right now so all of her boards are on hiatus. Ah, sorry, I feel like I was supposed to mention this here and some other places and forgot due to hospital shenanigans. But... yes, she's got some stuff going on so please be patient!
