The Discovery of Heirs -(OOC/Sign up)

Roleplays without some form of structure often end up unfinished or idiotic and abstract. I'm looking for something interesting, fun and purposeful. I'm not sure bought you guys but I wanna complete or at least have the intent to complete anything I begin.

If possible I'd like to reserve one of the open soothsayer positions and that of a sorcerer - not sure if there's a limit to how many of those we can have, since there is a warrior limit, so...

...also an Enchanter, if you please. I'll be making their skellies shortly... just. wanted to give you fair warning.
Also, Negru... Not to overstep my bounds or anything but... Plume generally knows what she's doing when she starts roleplays. All the ones I'm currently in with her are going strong even though our plot was loosely framed, if there at all (in many cases we haven't had one but we're trucking along to our own ends quite well and are very much enjoying ourselves while we do it). So perhaps you should be nice to the board maker and back off a little bit? Or, if it doesn't seem like the type of roleplay structure you want to join, well... no one's making you play/write.

Renn!~ Of course dear, I'm not putting a limit on any of the slots except for the warriors. c:

Sure, but whats the point in reading a book thats been summarized as much as a role-play that's been planned out start to finish? The way I look at is is that I trust the people involved in the role play enough to let them shape it as they go, and I think it has enough structure to start with. If you're looking for a mad, world engulfing drama RP, I'd be cool with getting a Mirai Nikki, Shengeki no Kyoujin or some original idea thats not a fandom. c:

Um, basically that was an over-step. You're jumping to conclusion about my perception of Plume, my eye is above average when it comes to good writers, had I questioned his/her skill I wouldn't have joined in the first place and I understand what you're talking about with those others but honestly how many of them have came to a meaningful end. Role-playing is basically like reading a book, watching a movie or even an anime. Who watches or reads something that have no point, it may be interesting in the beginning but if nothing going on to propel a story or in character interaction what's going to happen? All things must come to an end. /Beginning, middle and end./ I was merely stating my opinion, as was he. We were getting along quite well voicing our 'opinions'.

I'm a girl, not that it's really relevant. c:

I rarely see a RP that comes to an end, for me it's more about the interactions between characters. To be able to be someone you normally couldn't through writing. For that reason, I really don't care if someone writes in sloppy grammar or are new to role playing, I just want to give them an outlet to express themselves. In other words, role playing is about the characters for me, more than the plot. As much as the plot is important, it's how the characters react, and how the reader/writer connects to them that counts.^^

Anyways I'm not a fan of arguing, the RP hasn't even started and I'm already wading in drama. If you don't feel like being in a RP that isn't super structured, then by all means make your own. I'm sorry if I'm coming across as rash or rude, I hope we all stay on agreeable terms. Doesn't need to get blown out of proportion, you know?

Now you're getting aggressive, though it's still a bit passive aggressive nevertheless. Our conversation has merely been an expression of our opinions until your friend showed up.

Besides that, such isn't gonna work here. Look at the fashion you intend on playing him, you're going to have to orchestrate things and what's with you guys and this over structure thing. I'm not saying everything should be planned out from beginning to end, my character for instance has a purpose already, and a personality though he's structured his every action isn't planned though in character I'll make it seem so.

I'm sorry, I'm not meaning to come across as aggressive, passive or otherwise. Although I do have to admit I feel a bit of irritation at the superior stance you've taken. One minute your complaining that you think my role play is generic, and when I try to make it more interesting, you come back and tell me that's wrong as well. I've tried very hard to welcome and be kind to you, and I feel as if you're being antagonistic in response. As much as I appreciate your feedback, I feel like you saying "you can't" or "this isn't going to work," is demeaning of my skills at running a RP. Besides that, it wasn't my intention to run this RP at all, I'm the type to let everyone have fun and be creative. Once we start posting, it's a joint effort, you know?

The fact that you're saying "you have to orchestrate" sounds like you're trying to order me to do things, I find this highly offensive. Also, you telling other people what their characters should be or do is out of line and I'm not sure if you're aware of this. (check the RPN rules, puppeteering is against them) In the end I'm not the type to fight with people, quite the opposite actually, I'm usually really friendly. For this reason I don't want to fight with you, so can we agree to disagree and move on? ^^

I think you're a skilled person who would do excellently in creating your own RP, with all the detail and thought you put into things. I hope no hard feelings come of this.

Name: Vlad Niklas

Age: 17

Gender: Male

Personality/Bio: Vlad was born into the pinnacle of the Raven’s Gyhll’s power, his mother being the one who passed the enchanter’s gifts on to him. His mother still resides in Raven’s Gyhll, acting on her desire to protect her family by working for a wizard, acting as a pawn, and using her gifts in the politics game. Many cities over, Vlad lives with his father, an Anaweir, and keeps in contact with his mother via telephone. Currently a high school attendee, he enjoys manipulating his Anaweir classmates to become an idol. At this point, his intensions aren’t malignant; he’s simply having fun. He’s friendly and carefree, never meeting another Weir in the lifetime of his memory. He does think he’s above everyone because of this, he assumes his powers are special despite knowing others like him exist. To keep up his outward appearances, he hosts parties and goes a bit wild, taking full advantage of being young and careless.

It’s for this reason that his mind magic could be detected by Wizards if he attempted to use it, as he hasn’t mastered the skill of subtlety. He considers meeting new people a hobby of his, and finds others fascinating. It wouldn’t be unusual for him to strike up a conversation with a random bystander, his friendliness being a bit much at times. Just because he’s extroverted, doesn’t mean he’s particularly open about himself, as he doesn’t truly know himself.

Not in a wishy-washy way, but in a sense of “what do I want to do with my life”. For this reason, he’s easily tricked by strangers into changing his views or stance.

-more will likely be added later-

Faction: Enchanter.

Understanding of Abilities: He was raised with knowledge of the Weir and Anaweir, so he’s been developing his Enchanter magic since a young age.
Such a person control

No, as in your wording is confusing when you say "such a person control". . .

If you're meaning to say Vlad is OP when it comes to manipulating, please take this into account:
It’s for this reason that his mind magic could be detected by Wizards if he attempted to use it, as he hasn’t mastered the skill of subtlety
In other words, his powers are only good against non-magic folk, NPCs. It also means his abilities wouldn't be much use against your characters since they are, after all, Weir. And sure, maybe his profile isn't the best at this moment in time, I'm not perfect nor do I claim to be. I'm just a high school student trying to enjoy herself through writing.

Your profile is well done, I never said anything otherwise. As I said before, I'm really not trying to fight here. . . ^^"

Okay. First of... probably three. Almost done with Lucretzia, and then I'm debating on either Cora or Cain. Either way have a Nick~

Name: Nikholas Castairs

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Personality: Because of his powers as a soothsayer (something he was born with, but never truly learned to control) Nick is incredibly sensitive to others. He often knows what they would normally only tell him after years of having a trusting and open relationship (because he's already lived those years and had those conversations) so he can be overly intuitive without meaning to be. Because of this he has to step very carefully so that he doesn’t upset someone for prying into something they don't actually want to tell him for months or years to come.

He's also highly sympathetic - it's hard not to be when you can fall in love with someone just by brushing fingers. He gets attached easily and quickly, and often acts as if he's known someone for years when in fact he's only known them for days. He also has a tendency to be overly emotional due to the fact that every time he touches someone he lives a full lifetime of emotions (on the flipside of this, if he's recently experienced an intense emotional connection through his powers he can feel highly emotionally drained for a long period after as he's recovering from the initial intake). He can also feel quite distant at times - as if he's living another life or another place. This is often because he is - he's remembering your fortieth birthday when you're only eighteen, or the way he held you when your dog died ten years from now. It makes him seem quite withdrawn, and he has trouble fixing this about himself. Or he's thinking about how you'll break up with him or he with you and how lost he'll feel when it happens even if you're still in a relationship now. It's hard for him to stay in one time when he's living in many at once - sometimes he can't tell if he's actually living his life with someone or if he's picturing it because they're touching, and the idea freaks him out. After all, it's very hard to tell as the 'visions' feel very much like reality to him.

He moves very quickly, in part because he feels as if he's already done all the waiting, and can sometimes push people too fast and ruin what might have been a perfect thing if he had waited like he was in his head. But it's hard, when you've been in love with someone for ten years and you've only known each other six days.

Apart from that he really likes bad sci-fi movies and is a generally easy-going guy. He's a sucker for romance and likes taking people out on super cliché dates. He takes life slowly as it comes to him when he's not living it a second time, and is a very 'play it by ear' kinda planner.

Bio: Because I'm a lazy butt, have this short little blurb.

Nick was born to parents who loved him as most parents do their children. He was raised as most little boys were - playing and laughing and generally going far too fast into adult hood with no idea what was in store. While he was taken to Raven's Gyhll for training as soon as his soothsaying abilities were revealed it soon became apparent that there was no reason to attempt to train powers that were uncontrollable. Nick could not stop nor start his visions of the future and there was no way for him to attempt to focus his visions on any particular time and place other than what they decided to show him. And so he was sent back home where he grew up as most boys do, slowly shifting into adolescence and eventually into full manhood. Along the way he had brief relationships, most which ended before they had the chance to start due to Nick's ability to realise exactly what would cause their eventual break up. He has, however, had one notable relationship to date, with a boy named Daniel who would have become a great man had he been given the chance. Daniel was, to date, the only person Nick could see 'all the way through' with - straight to death at an old and comfortable age, still together, still happy, still alive. What Nick had not understood about his power at the time was that it did not make allowances for forces out of the immediate control of those his visions were focusing on. As such he never expected Daniel's untimely death the circumstances of which may or may not be revealed through the course of the roleplay) in a truly tragic accident. This took place just over a year and a half ago and Nick still takes full blame for Daniel's death, it's rather shaped his more quite and morose behaviour over the last few months - something normally totally out of character for him.

Faction: None, he's too lost in his own pain to care any more, really. He is, however, a soothsayer.

Understanding of Abilities: Nick's abilities are sort of... uncontrollable - the future is never certain and his visions are oddly focused on certain aspects of things. While he can usually make a fully accurate prediction of certain events he can't always tell when he's really living them or just seeing-living them.

...because it is necessary to explain the nature of Nick's future-telling abilities... his power is thus...

Emotional Response Prediction, contact based. Nick can "live" out his entire relationship with a person (romantically speaking) upon skin-on-skin contact. He can tell if they'll get together, how, why, and when, how long they'll stay together, why they break up (if they do) and feel every emotional response he has as if he were living it presently. So if his heart ends up utterly broken he feels it as if it had just happened to him, if he'd experience true happiness with you he could feel it all just by holding your hand. If you were destined to stay together until dying of old age and you died before him? He'd feel the pain of growing old with you and watching you die before his eyes, and then snap out of it to find you young and just fine in front of him. It's incredibly emotionally taxing, and he has to be wary of skin contact because he cannot turn his ability off.

Like all forms of prediction and prophecy, the future Nick sees is just one possible chain of events. If he decided to say something differently or touched you a week later he might see a completely different future the next time you brushed skin. He also cannot see random events from outside forces - so if the person he was touching was going to get hit by a car and die in a week he'd have no idea, but if they were going to develop dementia in their old age and he was going to be caring for them through it he'd see it clearly. Any pre-existing condition (even a dormant one) that the other person is certain to develop in due time that will directly effect the relationship he can see. Anything that relies on outside influence he cannot.

He has a significantly weakened version of this perception with non-romantic possibilities - friends, family, etc. People he has no potential with as a romantic partner. These possible futures take intense concentration to see even bits and pieces of and don't come naturally and irresistibly like the others do.

It takes roughly three minutes real time for him to see all of this - he 'lives' his visions in that warped perception of time that dreams allow us.

While most might assume that he'd avoid contact so that he didn't activate his powers, Nikholas is actually very tactile.

Okay, I ended up getting way too interested in the Soothsayer profession and decided to make two of them instead of a sorcerer. Also two Enchanters because I just can't help myself.

...wasn't quite sure how the world is shaped what countries are there and aren't there so please just infer this worlds equivalent if I'm wrong? I also wasn't sure about the sort of professions one might have in this world (specifically with Lore's backstory) but I figured that the 'world's oldest profession' would still exist here so...

I'm super lazy right now and will fill out Lucretzia's later. Lore and Cain took too much energy out of meeeeeeee........ Have some enchanters for the time being.

Name: Lucretzia Baglioni

Age: 32

Gender: Female

Personality/Bio: (you can do these separate of weave them together.)

Faction: Soothsayer

Understanding of Abilities: (Ex.: Did his/her parents keep it hidden all along? Or were they raised in Raven’s Gyhll, trained since birth?)

Name: Lorena Sophia Carina Perez

Age: 25

Gender: Female

Personality: Lorena is a latina firecracker if ever there was one. She's very sharp tongued and has no problem speaking her mind - she wants what she wants when she wants it and how she wants it, and she won't take it any other way. She can be rather pushy and bossy - flat out rude sometimes - and doesn't like taking shit from anyone. She's what most people would describe as a "Class A B!tch" and she has no problem assuming that title for herself if no one else will put it up for her.

Given the way her magic works/what it's fed through and her profession (she's an adult entertainer and being an enchantress means she makes quite a good mint from it), she gets a lot of flack from a lot of people, and her general response is a loud and pointed "go screw yourself, because God knows I'm not gonna and I don't think anyone else wants to either." She won't stand for people treating her like an object once she's off the dancefloor - when she's on it, yeah, that's her job and it's what she's there for. But once she gets off it's her time, and she is a person so if you're not going to treat her like one you can get the hell out right now.

She's a lot about bluster and noise - no matter who she's talking to she tends to put up a big front. It's easier to be b!tchy and rude and get people to leave you alone then it is to try and be nice to them, even if there's a chance that they'll genuinely be nice back. She likes being argumentative, it's something she's always been, and a good comeback is one of her favourite things to pull out. She's put a lot of time into making her reputation as a sassy Spanish girl, and she doesn't see the point in giving that up for you or anyone else. She's a very "take me as I am or get out because I'm too good for you, if you want someone you can make the way you want them to be go look for someone else. I'm not clay, and I'm not your toy, I'm me, so either get into it or get over it."

She is a very relationship driven person. Growing up in a house with more sisters and cousins then the youngest has years, she needs to have people around her to talk to and be with. Like a shark needs to swim to breathe, she needs to socialize to stay alive. She very much hates being out of a relationship, and can be very demanding when she's in one (which, honestly, is probably why most of them don't work out). She has pretty terrible taste in men, and for all of her talk about how "you don't own me" she tends to get into relationships with very possessive, sometimes abusive partners - perhaps suggesting that all her talk is really just an act to cover up the fact that she's incredibly insecure and hands herself over far too easily. Her powers don't really help with this, since she's more lust-inducing than love-inducing, and as such can really draw out the more animalistic side in those she's with.

Bio: Born in Ponterrada, Spain, Lorena was the second oldest of seven sisters, all born to a man and woman so madly in love that they didn't bother to think about the consequences of sharing their love unprotected. At first, being the second oldest had its privileges - she could boss her younger siblings around, and only had one person above her on the food chain. Unfortunately, as time went by and she got older all the while having younger and younger siblings pop out, she ended up having to help care for many of her youngest siblings far before she wanted to even consider raising a child.

As such, she found escape in a young man. As many teenagers do, she fell in love instantly, and was convinced he was the one she'd spend her life with. Her father, finally aware of the dangers of having seven rapidly growing daughters who were finally starting to show some womanhood through their girlish figures chose that moment to become protective. He forbade her seeing her young lover, as overprotective fathers tend to do when faced with having their children grow up right before their eyes. Enraged and disobedient in the way of many stupid seventeen year olds who have been told no, Lorena ran away with him, all the way to another country. Under the stress of neither of them having a job and living in a country where she didn't fully speak the language, they fell into fighting, and then fell apart - it turned out that he wasn't so much the love of her life as he was an early childhood fling. The first of many very poorly chosen relationships, and certainly not the one that would scar her the most. With no money, no place to stay, and a very rudimentary understanding of the local language, she turned to one of the oldest careers out there for women - stripping. It was below her pride to go into prostitution, though she might have done somewhat better financially if she had.

As her career as a dancer began, Lorena found that she was actually quite good at it. Her abilities as an Enchanter started to develop and reveal themselves and she quickly made a name for herself with her ability to entrance the male (and sometimes female) eye. She is, however, completely untrained.

Faction: Enchanter

Understanding of Abilities: Totally untrained - her powers developed very late in the game... I'm letting her enchanter powers take form through movement - a dance mage, if you will. Should be pretty self explanatory.

Name: Cain Brooks

Age: 20

Gender: Male

Personality: Cain has always gotten everything he's wanted. From early childhood he's understood that if he wanted something, all he had to do was reach out and take it - this is a view he's carried with him from his early years on. He expects to get what he wants when he wants it, and when he doesn't he can become somewhat deranged, even violent. When he's not going into fits of rage over people touching his things, however, he's quite calm and collected. He generally comes off as very charming, but that can often carry an overtone of menace.

When he gets what he wants he's quiet pleasant - he's all smiles and charm and friendliness. He's used to having lots of friends both due to his family's connections and his own genial nature, and as such he's very socially aware and gets along well with others. He spoils those that he likes endlessly (some times a bit too much, as he treats them with the same "you want it? It's yours, no exceptions" mentality, even if it means hurting others or doing something illegal to get it for him) and is incredibly possessive over those he cares about. Friends are his friends, and not anyone else's, people he's dating are to look at him, and him alone, that sort of thing.

Cain is, to put it simply, a user. He takes what he wants easily because all he has to do is tell someone that they were planning on giving what he wanted to him - or even that it was his to begin with ("that you for bringing me my lunch, I was starving") and they'll usually hand it right over. Because he's never really had to work for anything in his life he doesn't expect to now.

He has next to no real idea of morals and rarely bothers to stop and think about how what he does to or takes from someone might affect their lives - they aren't any concern of his, why bother? He has only one person he's ever truly cared about and that's his (adoptive) sister, Candice. And since she's not here, he doesn't see any reason to even pretend to be a decent human being - she won't see him in a bad state, so there's no one to pretend for.

Bio: whoa look it's super short! Cain was born in a very affluent family and was raised from an early age to get what he wanted, when he wanted. When his abilities as an enchanter first surfaced he was immediately moved to Raven's Ghyll and trained. Once graduating from his education Cain made a quite luxurious life for himself through his abilities.

Faction: Enchanter

Understanding of Abilities: Cain has been trained from the moment his powers were revealed. In terms of the specific use of his abilities...

Verbal Manipulation/Extreme Trustworthiness Through Speech - as an enchanter Cain specialises in the verbal use of his power - in short he is a silvertounge. It's nearly impossible not to believe what he says is true when you hear him say it, even if what you see in front of you or what you know to be true directly contradicts his words. He makes people with weaker minds believe what he wants them to with just a few words, though those with a stronger will can occasionally force themselves to see through the haze he creates when he speaks. To give you an idea of how his power works... if he had just fired a gun into someone's head and was still holding the weapon, still smoking, in his hand but then told a particularly susceptible person that it was all, "a terrible accident! I told him not to shoot himself but he just wouldn't listen!" that person would most likely believe that the man had just shot himself, even with Cain holding the gun in his hand right before them.

Yes, I realise that it's an incredibly dangerous power, and as such it only works on those with weak wills - so anyone with a strong will would be able to brush it off after a moment or two of hard concentration (or being so repeatedly faced with actual truth time and time again at great physical or emotional expense that the truth can no longer be ignored) to see past it.

People with the ability to read minds or intentions, are often exempt from his abilities as their own counteract his deceit.

Yes, we do, I'll get the thread up this evening. I don't have time atm, but I'll get it up as soon as possible. c:

Both accepted~ ^^

Name: Fayrin

Age: 14

Gender: Female

Appearance:

beautiful-anime-girl.jpg

Silvery blond hair, reaching her waist. Worn in above style: two braids up front, a split bang, loose on the hind and bound up on top.

Grey blue eyes in a finely set face, small features.

Personality/Bio: Fayrin, the single child of a low born weir-father and an anaweir mother, was raised to be 'useful' to other. Her father worked his way up using his abilities and felt the need to procreate 'for the good of mankind'. Thus using his powers managed to get a beautiful woman to bare his child: a gifted enchanter girl. Her mother left their home when her father had to go on a mission under his boss, a wizard. Leaving her all alone. Although she does attend school, she isn't one to keep friends or people close and takes to herself. Quiet and introvert might be the right words to express her personality, but on the other hand Fayrin has an eccentric touch on her. The opaque expression the girl always wears upon her face make people weary of her. Although she is easily scared and does not know how to handle in stress-situations, she is often seen as someone who does not bow under pressure.

Although unable to grasp the fact why weir aren't supposed to show anaweir their powers, Fayrin keeps up the house by herself now. Not having heard from her parents for a while now, she's getting worried something might have happened. She's curious whether or not her mother is still alive, and if she had actually loved her or if it were just the enchanting powers of her father that caused those feelings.

Faction: Enchanter

Understanding of Abilities: Fayrin was aware of her father being a weir for all of her life, but her father wasn't there enough to train her and/or give her guidance. Currently she's just muddling with her powers, but some acquaintances of her father say she has great possibilities, she however doesn't see it. She's currently trying to control people around her but she just can't muster up the right feelings for it.

Yay! :D Mission accomplished, Luhan always does the job :'3

If you listen to the song and don't know what they're saying, you can actually mishear 'enjoy the mayo' :P

I will wait impatiently to post ;)
