Fandom The Dawn Brigade, Equestria's Fall (EF)

"Hehehe. Good question. I don't even think the town has a name." He doesn't point out that the reason for this is that it likely doesn't exist anymore and was probably swallowed up in a chaos storm millenia ago. "It was a nice enough little village though. Lots of diversity due to a nearby cross roads but not a lot of trade given that it wasn't a popular road in the day. Out little house though was one of a kind in the village as we kept more books there than I think all the other houses save the mayor's (or rather Elder's) combined. Made for an interesting childhood. Spent the day and afternoons roughhousing with the local Earthers and Pegasi and then the evenings and some nights reading enough theory on magic to make me nearly blind."

Star sighs for a moment. "Wasn't all good though. Sometimes we had to deal with some petty bandit raids and while the adults at the time could throw up a pretty good fight they didn't always manage to eke out a win but we were never in any sort of starvation or desperation state either."

(Test. 1. 2. 3. Hm.. it isn't taking my post. Ah, there we go.)

"Raiders? Did you live near the western border by chance?" Dim asks as he tries to remember of any bandit attacks aside from the deer raids.

"I think so. Wasn't much of a student of geography back then. All arcane theory at the time to be honest. I learned geography the hard way after all. I eventually left town one day after my parents died in one of those little raids. Couldn't stay there anymore. Too many memories. Took what books I could pack and felt had what I truly needed and a few bits and bobs of my enchanting work and set out. Never really turned back since. I don't even know if the graves are still there anymore or not. Or if I could even find them for that matter."

"Huh, you can probably get a commission to have the area found if you wanted to" Dim says as he eyes Star, he could tell he wasn't being told the whole truth, but decides that it's probably a private matter. Dim spits off the railing. "This may be dark, but who do you thinks going to be the first one of the scrubs to break.?"

"Between Caramel and Sky, was it? Caramel. Sky is at least aggressive enough to resist sanity erosion by being around us for awhile. I'll be surprised if we complete this mission before Caramel is either offering blood to a blood god or convinced his weapon of choice contains the combined psyche of however many griffons we are likely to kill. For that matter, I'm considering taking bets on if he will survive lunch with all the unicorns around."

Dim makes a mock stern face "I'll have you know that gambling is illegal for military personal, I got 10 bits on him throwing up." Dim chuckles and levitates 10 bits and dangles them in the air.

"Noted sir." Takes the bits for safekeeping. "I'll relay that information to the whole squad. I'm sure they'll take it to heart." Star chuckles for a bit. "Ah, I do enjoy these moments sometimes. The lead up to a deployment is strangely good for helping to center my thoughts. Hopefully I'll get some inspiration out of whatever we see on this mission. It has been awhile since I've tried to create an original enchantment."

Dim laughs out loud "Most unicorns would kill to make an original enchantment. and I just realized that using killing as an example for desperation falls kind of flat with us."

"Hahaha, indeed. Currently I'm thinking of an enchantment that I think could help with treating multiple personalities. I have encountered more than a few ponies, even Earthers, who had that problem and am intrigued on if I can help fix it."

*********

Somewhere in a locked down vault in Canterlot where some of the most dangerous enchanted objects found in the country have been contained for possibly centuries, a small hoof mirror appears inside its containment housing. A plaque detailing how it has unfortunately caused those who look in it together to occupy a single mind can be found on said housing. Records alter to accommodate its presence in the vault.

"Hmm, can't say I've met many people with more than one personality that wasn't talking complete B.S." Dim says chuckling at the edgy teenagers he once hung out with. "God, ships are boring" Dim yells out suddenly.

"Still faster than walking. This would have been murder on our legs. I'd rather save the murdering for later myself." He thinks to himself for a moment. "You would think they would set up a mass teleport array for travel around the country at this point. I know we have a few for either set locations or small numbers of troops but really it would help with the mass transit in this country. Those trains are never on time and these airships are not nearly fast enough to keep the pegasi from bitching about the slowness or us from being bored."

Star just gives a big shit eating grin. "I apologize for nothing. I'm trying to mess with all the betters in the pool on when I'll cause you to have an aneurism. Don't blame me blame them."

Dim's horn glows dangerously as he prepares to throw Star overboard. Dim shakes his head as he extinguishes his horn "Be glad we need you." Dim starts to walk down the stairs "Be very glad"

"Heh, oh I am. Very glad indeed." Star chuckles once Dim is out of ear shot. "Ah, that was fun. Now to get to work on that project I suppose."

A donkey brushes past Blue, but seems to shift his head to the west. Most ponies would have missed this subtle movement, but Blue catches it.

Blue nudges Caramel as he points over to the west. "Something's over there, come on." He says as he starts jogging, the pair of mare's over head tracking him as the circle above.

(Do you think we should keep making the rp more like DnD, or keep it like it originally was?)

Caramel shakes his head in understanding before he begins to move that direction with his sword drawn.
