Because they don't feel or hurt in any way that we can.
Trust me, she was conflicted about it in the beginning, but they reassured her and understand that she needs to eat and live and whatever.
Animals can "feel" in the conventional sense - the same way we can.
But.... Yeah, it's complicated, but trust me. :P
 
Ive kinda decided not to go with that idea either way. but the main scientific wayi was thinking of applying it was that when muscles are used they give off heat, and when Einua uses his at such a heightened rate. that would cause the heat coming from him to be rather intense. but ive chosen not to go with that. i mean... there are studies and people out there that believe indeed plants do actually feel

and that that scent you smell when cutting the lawn -example- is actually plants giving off a distress signal to other plants (but since theyre plants they cant help). or that there are very very very impossible to hear shrieks when you cut into say a potato or something

i think a person like Kore would be able to hear this type of stuff :P but eh okay lols

ohhh hm, but that has nothing to do with him just being around lol
 
Plants 'intentionally' make fruit appealing to animals. It is a way that they spread their seed. Though they aren't sentient it is beneficial to them to have this happen, and have evolved for that purpose.

As for vegetables, it's just energy storage, and they always store far more than they need.

Not all animals are beneficial to the forest though, so I would imagine Kore would dislike a select few of them.

Yeah, like some insects etc... But in general everything in nature has a purpose~
