Fantasy The Covenant

"Well, do you have a basket or anything I can put these in?" Maegor asked. "I would really rather they not all rot on the ground outside. I have some firewood too, if that helps at all. Would you mind helping me gather the fruit?" Maegor took off his shirt and dropped the fruit he had with him into it as a bag.

"Oooo Ornate trim sounds amazing," she cheered, "Perhaps I can also manipulate some ivy to use as a hinge for the doorframe as well as some lovely decoration." She took a moment to watch him admire the project, Halk's mind seeming almost lost in the future as he envisioned a project. "Are you sure you really want to stay in the hole?" Faith asked him, grasping his hand before beginning to stammer, "I-I mean we are all safer if we are in a group right?"

Vytalas stood there as he looked at Faith and Halk "Well, I think we should transfer magic into the building itself, this would give it resistance to the elements and such.. Oh my! We could even make an animal enclosure for crreatures of Limbo.. The animals in one, spirits in another and demons in tbe next." Vytalas smiled, he too was excited by this, "we could also station atronachs and such around the home for protection.. The are would look like a zoo!!" Vytalas chuckled with excitment and Mileena shook her vines in a flurry. Looking at the stranger his tone got slightly serious, like most necromancers would speak like when about to perform a ritual, although Vytalas always did this as a joke and a tactic of intimidation and to show he was serious, he wouldn't ever perform a blood ritual. "So, stranger. Thank you for the fruit but tell me more about you. State you're name and and magical class. And are you a threat to me and my friends here?"

"I'm Maegor, and I use elemental fire magic." Maegor answered jovially. "I'm not sure about that last bit. But, the zoo idea seems good. Not only will it be amusing, but it will also be an easy source for non-fruit food...so, would you like to give me a hand, Zoolander?"

Halk nodded at Faiths idea, and pulled out a rope that was braided out of red, black, and purple strands. "I'll get working." He said, eager to get away from the stranger, especially after he took his shirt off. Halk was nowhere near as muscular as the newcomer, and didn't want to let him know. This didn't bother Halk as much when he remided himself that the mind was his most powerful weapon, and his was sharper than the sword the man was carrying.

The rope Halk had had three seperate charms on each of the different strands, The black one enhanced the ropes strength, the red one enhanced the users strength, and the purple one decreaced each ones weight. This was one of the best tools Halk had in his arsenal, it took him forever to make. Looping one end of the rope around his waist as a harness, he took out a pencil and swung the other end of the rope over the top of the house, catching it securely. He fed it so it came back to ground level and looped it around the houses foundation, a safety measure that would catch him if he fell. He then tied it around his ankle.

Pulling on the ankle side of the rope, Halk shot skyward, climbing around the wall nimbly, like a monkey almost, the charmed rope enhancing his natural abilities. The fact that he was lighter than usual only added to his fluid motion. Halk skittered around the wall, drawing the outline for the door, his belt hanging off of him at an odd angle. He was so enthralled, he didn't hear anything Faith said after her condemming his idea to go. He was finished with the outline in a matter of mintes, drawing exactly what was described. He added a few touches of his own as well, different jagged designs, as well as swirls and curls, the door was practically alive before he had made it. He also wrote 'Those Of Strong Spirit Dwell Within These Walls' across the top in ornate lettering. "This look good?" He asked, leaning off the wall with one foot, his pencil arm dangling, the other firmly grasping the rope coiled around him.

Daemon quietly observed the charming process, trying to memorize everything that the fellow did. His eyes followed the designs and writing, his ears enjoying the sound of the scratching. "Nice door." He finally said to Halk. "I'll never understand some sorts of magic. It's all a bit foreign to me. My father always just made things out of wood the difficult way. Such a shame, too, this wood magic seems like it's much easier." Shaking his head, Maegor put the pile of fruit into a corner and stood in a few feet away from the process, ready to open the door to go outside for more when it was finished. "Would anyone like to give me a hand?" He asked again, hoping for an answer this time.

"Mileena.. Go and help the guy" Mileena nodded in response to her masters task swiftly as she made vines wrap around multiple fruits and lifted them up as if to carry them. "Just give the word and Mileena will help you with the fruits... Just... Don't get her angry" Vytalas chuckled and then said to Halk "You really are very skilled with that enchanting magic of yours, I'm again, very impressed." Vytalas put down his knapsack as he took out a strange rune like item and chucked it to Halk. "A gift, to return the favour from earlier.. It is a summoning rune that will summon a creature with the same magic type as the user, so in this instance, you will unlock a Charmer familiar.." Vytalas smiled. "although, you can only summon the creature from that rune.since you are not a summoner.. If it is broken then the creature is put back into the abyss forever.. Preventing you from summoning it again.. So do treasure it. And use it whenever you like" Vytalas smiled to Halk and then admired the work on the door "I can tell you pay attention to detail..."

Halk shook his head, handing the rune back to Vytalas. "Man, I don't need to summon things. I make them." He smirked, jerking a thumb at where he lived. "I've been working on trying to create a familiar for a long time now. Since before I came to limbo even. I'm closer than anyone ever before... But my first familiar, I want it to be the first one in history to be made completely of artificial components. That sphere I had, that's the object I'm reffering to. Anyways." He turned to Faith. "Do you like the door? A bit gaudy, I know, but necicery. I'd like to get stared on it as soon as possible."

Faith was busy admiring the desires Halk had placed on the door, the attention to detail she so admired. Eventually she nodded as her attention was awoken by Halk staring directly at her, "Yea I do...thank you I...perhaps I could start thinking about what is actually going into the place...we have two floors here, maybe a third floor if we take advantage of the extra room below the canopy and craft a loft..." She placed her hand over the wood and whispered softly, "I just want all of us to be safe...one day I dreamed of making my own home...I never would of thought it would be there."

Vytalas caught the rune and stuffed it back into his pocket "Well, I look forward to seeing this mechanical familiar of yours" Vytalas chuckled as Mileena stood around holding the fruit. Vytalas then looked at the door yet again. "I like the style, prehaps Faith could make vines spiral up it or something, especially up pillars and such. That would look beautiful" Vytalas then stood there silently as he replied to what Faith just said "yeah, all that matters is that we stay safe... All of us.."

Maegor returned with a shirt-bag full of more fruit and added it to the pile. "So, what animals do you want for your zoo?" He asked. "I could probably help find some for ya." Maegor put his shirt back on and looked at the door. "Wow, it does look amazing. That guy did an excellent job with the artistic stuff." Turning his attention to Vytalas, he added, "Oh, and thanks for your familiar helping with the fruit, it was very nice of you t do so."

Halk chuckled. "You guys give me too much credit. It's nothing special. I haven't even carved it out yet." Halk pulled out a chisel and a hammer, leaving his saw hanging from his belt for the timebeing. He started at the top and center spike, driving his chisel into every joint. "Now for the fun part..." Halk put the hammer away, wielding the saw in his left hand and his chisel in the other. Touching the tip to the sawblade, he ran the chisel around the outline of the door. Smiling, he stuck the saw into the bottom-most cut he had made with the chisel and stroked the handle. The areas he had traced with the chisel glowed, and the saw cut around it, working by itself. Halk followed the saw on his rope, cutting out the finer details and carving more of the runes he had drawn. The runes didn't do anything yet, but if he put some energy into them, the door wouldn't open and would become nigh indestructible. The saw finished its work, so did Halk, so he ran his hands over every inch of the surface of the door, hardening the cells of the wood with a bit of magic. The wood had a glossy appearance when he was done, as well as the pungent scent of fresh wood and magic. He swung back down, uncoiling the rope from his waist. "You want to do the honors of fixing it on its hinges Faith?" He grinned childishly, pleased with his work. "I assume you'd want to go over it with some ivy. Mostly to give it an overgrown, yet charming appearance, don't you think?" Halk rubbed his chin on impulse.

Faith smiled and nodded, retreating to her old shack home before returning with two ivy saplings which she set just under each door where the hinges would be. Then with the guidance with Faith's hand the ivy would grow, a thick branch though the door which she guided though with ease. When it grew through the first door she instructed it up to where the Icy would hit the edge of the roofing and moved along the sides of the house, letting the leaves lightly decorate the a charming look that didn't look overgrown and unkept. When she reached the otherside, she let the branch thicken again and go though the second door before reworking the otherway around with the second ivy sapling. By the time she was done, the home looked lovely and only needed a proper roof to complete it. "I'll work the ivy up the roof once we get a foundation and some wooden shingles up there."

Halk nodded, producing sixteen metal hinges from one of his belt pocket. They had swirling eye-like markings on them. "Use these. They look like the material they're attached to." He took Faiths hand and closed her fingers around them, holding on for a bit longer than he shouldve and stared into her eyes. He let go, shaking his head a bit and rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry, I... I should go... The sphere... I don't like leaving it alone for so long. I've worked on it since before limbo..." Halk reddened a bit. "Yea, I'll get going." Turning on his heel, he went back to his bunker-like dwelling, opened the trapdoor, and descended back down into its quirky depths.

Faith, worried about what had just transpired, set the metal hinges down before following him quietly. When she watched him go down the steps of the bunker she began moving cautiously down the steps after him, "Halk wait," she called starting to run before accidentally slipping on the third to the last step behind him.

Halks arm shot out, catching her by the wrist, preventing her from falling. "Watch your step." He said, steadying her. "Gotta give yourself time to get used to the light." He continued walking down the steps, motioning for her to follow him. "I really don't like to leave the sphere alone. It gets screwed up if I leave it on the energy drainer too long." Removing it from its position on top of the runed pedastool, he tossed it between his hands a bit, then ran his thumb down the side. It hummed to life, it's smooth metalic surface lining itself with light. "It's paticular like that." He smiled as it whirred, making its startup noises. "I still need to figure out how to communicate with it. I've taught it english, it knows the language, i think... It just doesn't understand it..." He rubbed his chin, zoning out a bit. "Oh, Ah, you want something? You said my name... I'm sorry, I'm rambling a bit..." His ears reddened.

Faith laughed in embarrassment, "Sorry, thank you for catching me," she told him as she followed hi the rest of the way down. "Well honestly I wouldn't have to adjust if it wasn't so dark down here." Following hi up to the sphere as watched him pick it up and hold it much like Faith would with her familiar Raine. For a moment she didn't hear what he said, looking up at him before saying, "Oh yea I did... that moment I guess we had up there... are you alright? I was a little worried something was wrong..."

Halk waved his free hand dismissively. "Naww, I just had a moment, I'm good." He smiled reassuringly, returning his gaze to the sphere. "I've tried everything to get it to talk. It knows things, it's shown me it can differentiate between what is good for it and what isn't... I've put so many knowledge runes onto it I lost count at 5000." He rubbed his chin. "Also memory ones, so it hears and remembers everything I've told it. It just doesn't comprehend that language is something for communication... But I'm close. I'm so close to making... Making mind you, creating... The first man made familiar. It's just... Language is a fickle thing."

"Such beauty, the ivy complements the woodwork of the house very well... It really does feel relaxing" Vytalas said as he stood there as he watched the event unfurl "My. I am bored." Mileena went over to her master and stood next to him. "Faith. Halk. I think I might go do a bit of training. Prehaps summon my other familiars as well.. So if you don't mind I shall be going into the forest to train.. " with that, Vytalas left the area and as he just got to the trees he said "Make sure you all stay safe!" Vytalas made Mileena appear next to him as they enter the forest, looking for a nice place to train. "Mileena while we are at it we should look for supplies..."

Faith moved forward before grasping the sphere gently in her grasp, smiling softly before murmuring, "There there, you know how to speak I'm greatly sure. I know you do, you don't need Halk to teach you how to speak young one. All you need to do is listen and speak up after us. Pay attention and learn from your surroundings, adapt so you may grow and make Halk happy as you become more and more like a familiar."

Solomon was walking through the woods with Zzrot. "Damn you brother, why can't you see how beautiful this place is?" Solomon had been banished from the Spellthief group because of him not agreeing to their idea of trying to escape the limbo, he was sure Nikolai would've killed if they weren't brothers. As he was walking he noticed a small group of people who seemed to be, building? "Finally, someone else who can see the beauty of this place" he planned to start conversation but stopped himself and hid behind a tree to watch, he knew the rumors of the Spellthieves and thought that it would be best to wait with introductions

Halk shook his head. "No, it doesn't. That's the problem. Machies only do what you tell them to, and you can only tell them with magic. It's hard to put magic into words. English has a million words, but magic only has about... I dunno... a thousand?" The sphere made a clanking noise. "It has all the information. It just... ahh, can't process it. It's kinda like teaching swahili to a drunk dutchman." The sphere made the clanking noise again. "It does respond to magic though. It responds with colors. And pictures. That's how I found you. It can detect souls, and that's good..." The sphere made the clanking noise again. "What you want?" Halk leaned it towards the light. A purple line wiggled its way around the sphere, slowly shaping to form a skull. Halks eyes grew wide with fear. "Shit..." He handed the sphere to faith and began searching wildly around his workshop. "Shit shit shit..." Halk pulled a cylinder out from under a pile of scraps and flicked it open. He pulled out a lever on the side to make a tonfa style weapon. He spun it once, tucked it under his arm, then took the sphere back from faith. "I mentioned the sphere senses magic." He began, checking his dagger, taing another one off a wall and stuck it into his belt. "It can tell if the source is a charmer, yellow, combat, red, healing, green, elemental, blue, summoning, a mix of blue and purple..." He explained, going up to the trapdoor, murmuring a few words and slamming it shut. He ran his fingers around the outside and the stone hissed, bits of magic spaking off. "But purple... Purple tells that the person has killed. There is a necromancer nearby, Faith. One that has performed the blood ritual." Halk snatched a strange weapon off the table, one made of multiple different parts with multiple different charms, as well as multiple hinges. It looked like a large folding keyring that fit around your wrist, except instead of keys there were knives and a few levers. Halk put the sphere in his pocket and fixed the contraption to his right wrist, puling back on one of the levrs that were fixed into the ring, and a runed blade stuck out.

Solomon was still watching the people, hiding behind a tree with his familiar. "hmmm, they're very few for being able to build something that magnificent, and none of them seems to be a charmer"

The summoner seemed to be walking away, out of boredom, and the other two he hadn't even noticed that they'd left. He decided to wait a short moment and see if anyone was returning soon. After a while however he got too curious and decided to take a better look at the house, he walked towards it and saw that this indeed was the work of a charmer. "No one would be able to make such magnificent handiwork without magic" He said to Zzrot and himself.

Vytalas was walking around the forest after many minutes, picking up supplies from runestones and food items.. All canned.. But each foubd in the bags of deceased mages, sadly. After picking up a new summoning keystone he got a strange feeling, familiar magic had made it's way to Vytalas. Mileena went into high alert, her eyes gleeming red as she awaited her masters command.. "I can tell that magic anywhere... A necromancer that has performed that ghastly ritual is nearby.. Let's hope they haven't sent a group to collect me.. I made it clear that I will never perform the ritual. Mileena.. Where is the magic coming from?" Mileena pointed towards the house and said "That way" Vytalas gasped as he stuffed the supplies in a pocket dimension, unique to summoners and he then grabbed into Mileena as she ran at full speed to the house. When they got there, Vytalas stood behind the necromancer, Mileena stood at his side, vines wrapped around her arms and up into a point, creating an incredibly sharp spear like weapon. "What do you think you are doing here? Leave at once." His tone was incredibly emotionless, Vytalas was being serious, although a necromancer himself.. He hadn't performed the blood ritual, and he knew exactly who this was. "You are Nikolai' brother. Solomon." As a precaution, Vytalas summoned another one of his familiars. This one, was one he gained with his days with the Necromancers. It was a huge snake that could spit acidic poison, very corrosive. It wrapped around Vytalas' arm and hissed at Solomon.

Solomon heard the voice behind him and Zzrot quickly went into battle-stance. He turned around, slightly starled by the sudden hostility. "Woah, take it easy, I-I don't want any tro- wait, don't I know you?" Solomon studied the mans face. "Yeah, you're Vytalas, right? I remember you" Solomon told Zzrot to calm down since it wouldn't really look to good to engage in a fight with a fellow necromancer, no matter who'd see.
