Fantasy The City of Myths

Feeling the gentle, cold stroke of his skin against hers she held a little chuckle through her smile. But also catching his mischievous grin helped to make her chuckle a bit more known. But she herself felt younger than she normally did. And that was evident in her laughter and her smiling. When they began to walk, Rosaria stuck by Mortimer's side. Her steps soon enough synchronized with the vampire's as they made their way down the sidewalk.

Blue orbs moved to look up at the man to whom she clung to. A glint was soon noted in them as she listened to every word he uttered. Catching him wink caused a portion of her blush to return to her cheeks. "Something different sounds splendid." Rosaria rested her head against Mortimer's arm a bit while they walked. The heels of her shoes making small thumping noises with each step she took. As she breathed in through her nose she could smell the cologne he dawned, noting the scent of pine and cinnamon. But dismissed the scent of blood for that was not uncommon with vampires. Glancing up at him she sighed happily, "I can't wait to see what you've planned."

Raven sat quietly at the table waiting for the food, not sure what to expect truly. Sighing she looked down at the table for a few seconds, lifting her head then one of her arms, not sure how to get one of the staffs attention “could one of you bring me some coffee please?” She asked curiously

Snow jumped out of her arms when they got close “this way Rebecca!” He exclaimed as he ran to a door and started to paw at it. “I’m sure master won’t be terribly hungry, but she figured you would be”

Rengal gently smiles and says" this stew should keep you full for a couple of days or so if you can eat the whole thing, i also sell a number of items to train one to get more blood in their body's and mind sharper, the girl looks a little skinny while i can't give you them for free i can trade you for something of the same value".
Rengal then thinks to what his sister said and says" i see maybe i should open up a cafe as well so you can bake for me i do like good food and as a blood demon i need filling things".
Rengal then says" I know you order coffee but i just finished making a synthesized multi vit blood juice would you be up for trying that".

"I can't wait either, I haven't seen it yet." He mused jokingly. "Let's just hope my employee stuck to the plan." Mortimer remarked, turning his head away only momentarily to watch the path. As they begun entering the more crowded town centre, it was evident they weren't stopping among the nightlife - instead it was to take a pathway more direct into a certain area of the forest. But before they could leave the main market district, below the strung, quaint lights - they were approached. By a vampire no less. A vampire who certainly knew Mortimer from the beeline he made.

"Voltaire! You've been avoiding me!" He exclaimed, narrowing his eyes. Thin and blonde haired, this creature was clean shaven and a stark contrast from Mortimer's appearance. Voltaire gave a thin-lipped smile.
"Kingsley. I'm afraid I've been busy - still am. You're in my way."
The stranger, now identified, only barked a laugh as he reached out to touch Rosaria - "What's this? Looks more like tea than dinner-"
Mortimer let out an involuntary growl, as dark and deep as anything whilst grabbing Kingsley's wrist tight enough a human's would of snapped.
The two froze as they faced off one another. "Now come on, you're not that protective over a blood bag like her, hm?"

Mortimer at that point gave a snarl. "She's not. And you won't dare even look at her or I'll tear you to pieces." He snapped, deliberately slowing his speech till it hit a new brand of menacing.

Silas Blackwood
The nymph was holding Stell with such smiles that for the second - it was just like every morning. Nodding to Avery with a light grin "Sure thing, hun."
Till Krystellia went rigid in his arms, her face contorting. Halfbreed babies could often have different growth rates to a human's 9 months. Blackwood had been partially prepared for that - yet her crippled expression sent a wave of panic into his heart which skipped a painful beat. "What?! Stell?? Sweetheart, tell me whats wrong?" He cupped her face and placed that singular, protective hand on the bump of her stomach.

Rengal gently smiles and says" there's an item which slowly pumps several types of mana into one in small does it's called the training sages armband, he then leans in and whispers in her ear sayings" As for the other thing your blood smell really good and you seem like your fun most times so how about being in an open real with me". He then moves back and uses a little of his blood magic to shape a potato with cheese and on the girl nods and goes to the kitchen and starts looking for the food item in question.

for stell the pain only started to get worse and she narrowed her eyes at silas as if saying this was all his fault. it was very obvious why stell was in pain. she looked kinda like she was glaring at him. "....your son is a impatient little monster!" she told him with a shaky breath. she clung onto her husband panting. "get me out of this house...now...i'm not having this child on...the kitchen floor, understand?" she told him quickly and sharply.

AMBER

Amber stared in horror as she ate pancakes. She applied butter and syrup. She understood that this was not the right time for this, but she was going to eat those pancakes. She had been without them for far too long. Her speech was muffled as her mouth was full, “Is mom going to be ok?”

"Alright, then." As Fox waved Isabelle off to wherever she was going, Fox returned to his book. A fairly boring read, Fox thought, but one that did give him some insight into a few magical proceedings. Most people always assumed that Fox didn't believe in magic, or refused to accept it, but that was far from true. Magic, as Fox saw it, was another form of science that intellects like him could manipulate for the better. Still, magic had downsides, too. While it would take him months, possibly years, to be able to use the large potential of magic within himself Fox reckoned he could just create a machine to do what magic does in a fraction of the time. As he ponders on the rituals mentioned in the large tome, that seemed to be more from a museum than a library, he yawns with boredom in that adorable way foxes and fox people yawn.

With that, Fox decided to call it a day from the books. Grabbing a few other books, Fox headed to Allalon to take them out. After signing the sheet, Fox put them all into a couple of bags then headed home. Using only one hand to carry them all - about 6 decent thickness history books plus a larger one that probably weighed as much as the others combined - Fox decided to stock up on some shopping before heading back to his house/office. Being the detective of the city wasn't an easy job, after all, and you never knew when you may have some free time. Fox was all about efficiency, after all.

(open to interaction. I also have my other two characters free, if you wish to interact with them)

Silas Blackwood
He'd been preparing for this moment but those parenting classes nor books never said anything about how scared shitless he was. "Oh - fuck -" Silas' eyes widened. Only to turn to the girls. "Don't repeat that." Silas picked up his wife with ease as she doubled over - clasping her safely in his arms like the wedding day. "Aspero! There's a bag upstairs with clothes for your mother and the baby, can you grab it?! It's next to the bed!" Blackwood began moving toward the door. "Avery! Amber! Get in the car, now, now! Don't worry about shoes or coats, we have to go!" Silas exclaimed, hugging Krystellia close as she began to go into labour. "The water hasn't broken yet, we have time - just breathe. Breathe. I apologise for the frisky backrub - but its not the right situation to blame anyone."
With that the nymph began to hurry through the house and wrench open the front door.

"If they're your employee I'm more than certain that they did right. You must have a little faith," the elf chuckled as her blue orbs glanced up at him. As they began to heading into the town centre, Rosaria clung to Mortimer's arm a bit tighter. But their walk was soon interrupted when someone approached them. Actually, they were looking for Mortimer. And by the newcomer's appearance, he appeared to be a vampire. But he appeared to look far different than Mortimer. In the elf's mind she was questioning who exactly was this guy, and how exactly did the two vamps know each other?

But her thoughts were interrupted when she noticed Kingsley was reaching out to touch her. Letting go of Mortimer's arm she took a step back. There was not much she could do, her weapons were at home. And if she tried to use her flames, that could end badly. Hearing a growl she looked up at Mortimer who had grabbed the newcomer by the wrist. In silence, she listened to what little they said.

"Mortimer," she mumbled softly to herself as she stood behind the theatrical vampire. Who now, was more menacing than she's ever seen. He was protecting her. Rosaria blushed a bit as she stared at Mortimer from behind. For the what must have been the first time in her life, someone was actually defending her. Keeping her away from harm instead of throwing her to it as if she were prey to keep the wolves away.

"Tell that to the rest of them too, she's mine." Mortimer threatened till Kingsley wrenched his arm back. His associate only smiled, whilst rubbing his wrist. "I've seen that look in your eyes - the same as a hundred men before you. And it won't last, Voltaire. Not for things like us. I hope that elf can live forever, or she'd better learn how to fast." The blonde haired vampire tilted his head, "Be careful. Pulling away from the coven means breaking the blood. And with this - halfling by the smell of her? People won't be happy. You're old and pure by flesh, but you chose a day-walker over us?"
Mortimer's fists tightened. "I told you all, I'm no part of it. My controversial relationships should stay out your damn opinions. Now - the next time you, or any of the coven approaches me in public, or Miss Alvira, I will send you to hell. Take that back to Aleksov, and let him know this can be dropped or fought out. I suggest the former." At that Kingsley scowled, eyes seeping a light pinkish red. "As you wish." Slinking away into the town centre.

Voltaire, turned to face Rosaria. His irises a dying crimson, as if embers of a fading fire. Soon enough, they'd returned to a dark redwood. Mortimer reached out for her hand. "I apologise for that. It's quite dampened the mood." He forced a laugh, rubbing the side of his neck with an ashamed manner of avoiding her eyes.

Charcoal_Lilly50 Charcoal_Lilly50

Rosaria felt a sharp pain in her heart, causing her pupils to dilate. Kingsley's words about everlasting life cut and pulled at her heart. Would she not live as long as Mortimer? No. She believed her mind that she could. All because a little more than half of her is that of a demon. And demons lived for thousands upon thousands of years. Even forever. Right?

The rest of their talk seemed to fade to mush as the half demon drowned on the fact of life. But when she heard her last name being spoken is when she snapped out of her trance. Just in time to listen to Mortimer warn the other vampire about ever coming near the both of them. And with that, Kingsley left as mysteriously as he arrived.

When Mortimer turned to face her she could see the color of his eyes begin to return to normal. Until they went back to their normal shade of redwood. Rosaria glanced down to see Mortimer reaching for her hand. Without hesitation she took it in her own. "He's wrong you know," she mumbled as she squeezed the vampire's hand. "I shall live for many years. I will find a way to survive for thousands of years from now. I am a demon. And I will live until the day you die," when she spoke her blue eyes suddenly flashed a shade of gold. But it quickly vanished.

Something inside of the girl was determined. Determined to not let age nor death come between her and Mortimer.

Mortimer Voltaire
As she took his hand, Mortimer watched the doctor's lips move in a speech of determination. Her palm squeezing his in almost comfort for the knowledge of her lifespan. "I know you will, Rosaria. You will live a long and happy life -" Mortimer moved in to cradle her jaw. His thumb stroking her cheek. "- and I hope to be there for it." The vampire almost whispered. A little taken aback by the colour of her iris changing, but inclined to smile, he pressed a fond, cold kiss to her forehead. "I shan't let you go anywhere if I can help it." A moment of serenity passed whilst he rested his head upon hers. Rubbing her arm in a slow motion, up and down till Mort finally pulled away.

"I'm sorry, again. To have you interact with such people - to have them walk up - I should have done more to prevent it." With that apology, Mortimer gave an emotive sigh. Almost carefully flickering his gaze back up, the vampire was of course; turning anger to grief so Rosaria wouldn't have to suffer the brunt of it. "Forget about what he said, there's no need to worry yourself over it as of present." Of course, he'd thought about it personally. Elves lived long, but they didn't live forever. He too - banked on the thought that she was half demon. For the only remedy to stop ageing that he knew of, was vampirism. And to give that disease to her? No. He couldn't do such a thing.

Giving Rosaria a tug, he motioned toward the pathway which led off into the forest. Smothered with darkness, almost pitch black on such a clear, cold night. "Tonight is special after all, and I won't have it be ruined by vampires who talk too much and know too little."

Charcoal_Lilly50 Charcoal_Lilly50

Feeling his cold lips against her forehead caused Rosaria's expression to soften, a tiny blush made known as well. His words moved her. Blue eyes closed as she felt Mortimer's head on her own, and the gentle rubbing of her arm. "It's not your fault Mortimer," she mumbled quietly, "You could not have anticipated running into him. As long as he has left us alone we are fine." Her eyes opened slowly as the vampire pulled away from their tiny embrace.

But he was right. Now she did not need to worry about the future. This moment, this moment they were in right now. Was far more important than anything else going on in the world. And she was going to live in it. Not drown on what the future may hold for them. That would be dealt with at a much later date. "Thank you, Mortimer. For snapping me to my senses. And reminding me that the present is what we live in." The halfling's smile slowly returned to her face the longer she looked at the man of an era long forgotten.

At the small tug of her hand she followed Mortimer's gesturing that led to the beginning of a pathway that cut deep into the forest. So that was where he had planned their evening to be. Noticing how dark it seemed she lifted her opposite hand and raised a finger. From the tip of it a tiny wisp of flame appeared, and in control of Rosaria it stayed at the edge of her finger. Acting as a light source. Watching the vampire speak made the elf smile a bit more, "You are right. I do not wish to have tis night ruined either. But, I do want to thank you for protecting me."

Mortimer Voltaire
Her long gazes made his smile widen, losing himself occasionally to those two pools of blue. "No need to thank me, after all, looking at the future where I still hold your hand is touching." Further, he guided them into the thick, overgrown forest, a tiny almost candle-like flame beneath them. Mortimer having a somewhat better vision in the dark, nonetheless, it helped to a marginal extent.

"Protecting you?" He looked at her in the darkness of the fading city lights and sounds. Soon, the only other noises becoming that of wildlife and themselves. "I'd do anything to protect you. Anything at all - you remember that." Voltaire remarked in the astounding silence that overwhelmed the natural surroundings. There was no moon that night, nor clouds, merely the stars which continued to emerge in the distance they escaped civilisation. "When I first arrived here, in Relic City, I found this place wandering through the woods. Nobody gave me maps, nobody gave me directions, just rumours, you see? So I had to follow the sky as far as I could before daylight." Mortimer paused in his speech. "I know, you might not be a fan of things I find brilliant. You're a modern woman after all and I'd be more than willing to take you to dinner instead - but perhaps you might enjoy it."

Through the maze of brambles there slinked a path, slightly worn and freshly cut - as not to let the couple prick themselves. Nevertheless, they emerged in a meadow. The dome of the sky above in a fantastic display of the galaxy, which was as if the velvet night had been shattered with diamonds. Still leading her by the hand, there was a candlelit amidst it all somewhere down in the middle, with a basket of blankets, wine - a midnight picnic really. Even a flask of warm apple cider (which his employee, knowing how cold vampires were, felt they should supply some other warmth to the soul who would be up against frozen skin).

Charcoal_Lilly50 Charcoal_Lilly50

As they continued to walk Rosaria stayed close by him, not just be closer to him. But out of worry of accidental separation. Thankfully though, she had nothing to worry about. Hearing him she looked up in the dim light that she held. Making out bits and pieces of his face. His words made her smile, "I shall remember that for as long as I live. And know that I'd do the same for you." With no clouds in sight or an visitation of the moon, the elf made the guess that was the night of the new moon.

Though once they made it to their destination, Rosaria let out a gasp, "Mortimer, it's so beautiful!" Glancing up at the millions of stars her eyes began to twinkle a bit themselves. Mesmerized by the captivating night sky. "I haven't seen a sky like this for many years." Returning her focus to the path she was being lead in she noticed that there was a picnic arranged for the two of them. A blush rose to her cheeks as wide smile grew on her face. Everything seemed so romantic. Rosaria couldn't believe that Mortimer did all of this just for their date.
