Fantasy The Chernobyl leftovers

"there's a whole world of places like this. Over 3 billion people of all different types. I came from a small village not more than two miles from here. I saw all the people walking though with all their belongings in carts. Families cried and had no more homes. I've treated people with adaptations like you and anna."

Anna was glad that the woman was going to help her. William was right, the woman was not that bad. She reached into the pocket on her skirt and pulled out a photo and a charm bracelet. The photo was of her grandparents she had written her goodbye to her family on the back. 'I am sorry I was not able to tell you how much I love you before this. I am very cold and afraid I won't make it much longer. I love you all very much and I will be waiting for you with grandma and grandpa- Love Anna' and the bracelet had a silver heart with her initials engraved on it. She handed it to the woman

"Oh, I should probably tell you my name. Knowing my family they most likely filed a missing persons report."

She paused a moment before telling the woman her name.

"My name is Anna Damasky"

She looked at the woman.

"Thank you for doing this. If you cannot find a report you can contact my older brother, Alexander Damasky."

Her brother was probably the best person to break the news to, he was always so strong.

"How can you do that? We've always been like this. You can't change someone that has always been the same, right? I mean, that's impossible" William said and turned his head towards Tara again. He inhaled the smoke once to calm down a tiny bit since he just a moment ago, was practicly terrified. Such news, that so many people exists, made him slightly nervous. The thought spinned in his head, he's just one of so many people. One out of at least 3 billion people. Even though he did not know how mutch a billion was, but judging by her way of empathising the word he could tell that it was a lot.

alex looked back at anna with a smile on her face, "If im right and I'm not insane, I am dating a man with that same name. He is a verysweet fellow and caring, we palnned to get married next year. If that is the same man, I'll be more than happy to deliver this to him."
"science has made a huge leap in the last few years william. They've been able to grow new skin or a lung for somebody and replace the old one with that new one. They've done many things in the past years, to much I can explain in a short period."

Anna's heart skipped a beat when she heard what the woman said. It sounded like her brother.

"Yes! It is most likely him. He was always so kind. I was with him the day of the accident, we were running together when I tripped and fell."

She looked down at the ground.

"The last thing I remember is him yelling for me, after that it all went blank."

She was happy that he had moved on and found a such a nice a girlfriend.

"I wish I could come to the wedding but, even with all of advancements in science, I am too broken to repair."

She hugged the woman.

"Thank you for the help"

She let go, Tara was much warmer then her and, she didn't want the coldness of her porcelain skin to shock Tara.

"How about I bring a video back of the whole thing and you're welcome." Tara placed her arm over ana gently, "he's been telling me about what happened to his sister. It's good to knoe I found her."

William once again looked between the two girls. He was happy for them both, one recieved help to contact her relatives and the other one was engaged. 'Small world, huh?' He thought and chewed a little on the base of the cigarette to pass time. A chuckle out of nowhere could be herd from him but he shrugged it off and leaned back on the wall with his arms crossed over his chest.

Tara looked over to william but could barely see him, "would it be okay if I lit a candle william, it's getting dark in here and I can't see my own hands."

Anna looked at William before she could ask him about his family she heard footsteps. She closed her eyes to see if the person was walking by, she could.

"another stranger approaches."

She looked at Tara.

"Do you think they are looking for you, the person is wearing the same clothes as you."

As she heard the footsteps get closer she tood up and quickly walked over to closet and shut herself in. If they saw Tara with William they would not get too suspicious but, she was too different. She sat inside the closet and waited for the others to say it was okay.

Tara stood up and moved william into the closet with Anna "you two stay quiet and I'll get you when you can come out." Tara returned to her spot and lit a candle while the man entered. They talked for a few minutes but the soldier got Irate after having drank most of the day. He pushed tara around a bit and some glass broke when she wws pushed into a window.

William heard the glass break and was about to step out of the closet. The urge to hit the man filled him but some common sense kept him back for a moment. 'Go on, it's okay' One of the voices in his head whispered. For once, William listened to what the voice had to say and slammed the closet door open. His fists was clenched and an angry expression was placed on his face. Loud thuds could be heard for every step he took until he reached the man. "This is my home, don't you dare hurt anyone here" His voice was dark, like a side of him you would never usually see. A pale hand reached for the man and pulled him back from the woman and without thinking clear, he hit the man in the jaw, hard. The man fell on the ground, unconsious. William glared at him before remembering about Tara. "Are you all right!?"

Anna curled up in the corner when she heard the fight going on. Before she ask William to do something he burst out of the closet. She faced away during the altercation. She looked over when William talked to Tara.

"Are you alright?"

She called out to Tara not wanting to leave the safety of her closet. The stranger looked scary, and he seemed to like to shatter things. That made her even more scared.

Tara looked behind her and felt a piece of glass piercing into her back and a patch of blood building up there. "You have to pull out this piece of glass please." After the intial wave of adreneline wore off she passed out from the seeingnthe blood and fell to the wall.

"Tara!" He grabbed her by her wrist before she fell onto the ground. He kept his arm around her waist and stared at her with wide eyes. "Please. Stay with me" He whispered as he turned to the closet where Anna still sat. "We need to go to the hospital, there might be something there to help" He carried Tara in his arms and quickly walked out of the building. The whole him was filled with worry and anger. He had never seen a human die, atleast not what he can remember. For the moment, he didn't want to take the glass piece out of her back. It would just cause her to bleed even more and the risk of her dying would increase. She needed those things that only can be found in a hospital. In the back of Williams head, he prayed for her to survive. Not that he knew her that well, but he just couldn't see any human die. It wasn't a thing he wanted to experience. "Tara.. Please don't die" His raspy voice went deeper and darker when he whispered those words in hopes that she would survive.

Tara woke up for a few minutes and looked to see that she was being carried by someone "Where are we going, I can walk just fine let me go." Tara began to struggle for a few seconds before she calmed down and looked over more to see it was William.

"No. You're not fine" He whispered as he grabbed her a little bit harder out of concern. By the time they reached the hospital, his whole face was pale as a ghost. At that moment, the only color he wore was the red blood from Tara that decorated his arms. William reached for the door, only to find out that it was locked. A heavy sigh could be heard before he walked forward, straight into the door and went through it. His abilities to walk through any surface could come in handy from time to time. Once inside, he began running in the halls to hurry up and find what he needed. "Tara, stay with me. Stay awake" He ordered her as he walked into one of the rooms and put her down on a bench before beginning to look after bandages and such. 'Will, You're going to kill her' The voice in his head spoke out of nowhere and sounded just as worried as him. "She'll be allright" William mumbled nervously under his breath and took what he needed from the drawer.

Tara continued to stay awake and was fading in and out of conciousness. She looked at her arms and hand s and could see she was getting paler. Her body reacted when she saw the blood all over her shirt and williams arms, shhe threw up on the side of the bench and laid back down. "Sorry about that, I don't handel blood real well. What are you doing to me"

Anna was standing in the doorway of the building where the fight went down. To reach the hospital she would have to go outside. She tugged at her skirt and looked at the hospital. She decided not to go, the outside was dangerous. Then, she heard the man shuffle in the other room, she decided to leave. She quickly walked to the hospital trying not to trip on anything. She finally relaxed when she made it inside the building. She quickly searched the rooms until she found them. She looked at William.

"Do you need help?"

William carried the bandages over to Tara and put a hand on her back. Then a voice, the voice of Anna was heard from behind him. He jumped a little but thought for a moment. "You could help me with this. I'm going to take out the piece of glass, but it's going to bleed a bit. So if you could hold this towel against the wound until I fix the bandages. If you don't want to, it's fine" His cold fingers were still on Taras back. He then reached out for a couple of badages and a bunch of paper before turning back to Tara. "You might want to look away now. I'm sorry if I'll hurt you.." He said to her and his eyes were like a sad puppy, full of guilt. 'You're going to hurt her. Kill her. Don't do it' A voice inside his head spoke again. William ignored it and continued with what he was doing. He was still more nervous than ever, he had never done anything like this before. His hands were now shaking out of control and his breath was uneven.

Tara didn't know what was going on and looked back to william "what is going to happen, I'm completely fine." Tara turned her head towards anna "hey anna, come join us. We're having a party and for some weird reasonI'm losing blood."

She took the towel from William and held it up to the wound. She pressed as hard as she could feeling some of her cracks grow.

"Hurry up William."

She could feel the warm blood spill on her cold skin. She didn't want to think about it. She looked at Tara.

"Look away."

She was losing blood and she prayed William knew what he was doing, she knew the wound would have to be sewn closed she looked back at William.

"I can stich it closed if you want. I was always very good a sewing."

She figured it was not so different from sewing a teddy bear shut. She just hoped Tara would survive this.

"If you want to, thank you" William murmured and placed his hands on top of the towel, right next to the piece of glass. "This is going to hurt a little.." And with that, he grabbed the glass piece and pulled it out. Within seconds he was standing, now a few steps back, and the bloody piece of shattered glass. His hands were still as shaky as ever. He dropped the glass piece on the desk and hurried back to Anna and Tara. With an uneven brathing pattern he placed his hands on the soaked towel. "If I hold the towel, you stitch. Okay?"

Tara looked at them both and smiled "you two would make a nice couple" Tara continued to lose and gainm concieousness. When the glass shard wqs pulled out she let out a loud scream and and fighted to let rid of their grip. She released more swears and curses and tears camre from hee eyes dure tonthe pain.

Anna watched as William pulled out the piece of glass

"Oh my..."

she nodded when William said he would hold the towel. She quickly searched for items to do the stitching. She found what she needed and quickly worked on stitching the wound shut. To distract Tara she decided to talk to her.

"We make a good couple? I feel like a I barely know him. I spend most of my days indoors."

There was a lot of blood, she tried not to think about it. She quickly finished stitching it closed and turned to William.

"We need to clean it."

The bleeding ad slowed down and she was relived, maybe Tara will actually survive this.

"I saw the way you've been looking at each other, it's completely obvious." Tara kept her fist clinched from the pain with out anesthetic. She stopped resisting and lyed on the bed
