Fantasy The Calm After War (Always Open and Accepting)

Ari Waesmor
O'Connor House

While Ari was struggling to chew the muffin, Arabelle mocked him for talking. "Tyr moves a lot. I had to say something." he said, reaching for a cup to wash down the muffin

Then Bailey got all friendly again. "Damn it, Bailey. Stop being nice." Ari's entire relationship with Bailey as they knew it was contingnt upon hate/hate, and she was being nice to him. He sighed. "The only thing I need you to do is get me out there with him or prevent the war. Whatever your call is. Death is what I deal in best and what I fear the least. Don't stifle my talent by trying to lock me up."

He jumped out of his seat so Tyr could sit. "If people give you hell for the way you're born, I can leave them speechless. Half elf kids makes me a bit less tolerant of it than the average person." What he meant by speechless was that he'd cut their tongue out.

"Do either of you know why we're going to Faylen with you? Or have you been eavesdropping?"

“Ari, calm down.” She took his hand. “I don’t want you causing any trouble, okay?” She kissed his cheek. “Just be calm.”

Ari squeezed her hand. "No worries, Arabelle. I can handle it. I don't cause trouble unprovoked."

Ari looked around. "I have to clear my teaching schedule, then clear my blacklist before we head to Faylen. I got to go...... You can stay and I'll have Nala guide you back Arabelle." Ari said. He seemed lost in thought at the moment.

As he walked out, he gave a last parting comment. "If someone gives you trouble in Faylen for being a half-breed, they'll take a permanent vow of silence. You don't treat a High Prophetess like that."
Ari jumped off, which would suggest that he didn't go back to the manor.

TIME SKIP!!!

2 Weeks Later
Time: 7 am

Today was the scheduled day the group was to head out to Faylen. If they left in the morning, they'd be there by nightfall assuming they take horseback. The weather was perfect for a long day of travel. The sun was lying on a bed of fluffy white clouds, obscuring its view of the earth. Without the influence of the sun, the air stayed fairly neutral. Not quite warm, but not hot or cold either. The wind goddess was in a gentle mood this morning, blowing small bursts of breezes that would cool a man down in his armor right when he needed it. All in all, this was weather that came to mind when one looked out on a peaceful nowhere town like Loudwater.

The projected goals were simple to the group. Prevent a war, find out the secrets behind the Ancient Gods and the events that ended Valerian's Era of reign, make a brave woman better after all she's been through. Do this all in the intellectual haven, Faylen, the elven country who's High Prophet and General is none other than the Adventurers own Bailey O'Connor. The goals are simple and obtainable........ Obtainable at least

Ari was already up and running an hour earlier, getting the kid's clothes packed, getting his equipment in order. Staff? Check. Bow? Summonable. Daggers? Check. Antidotes, Mana, and Health potions? Check. Robes? Check. Rations? Check. Survival gear? Check.

Alison was getting hers in order too. Her Seraph Wings, Antidotes, Potions, Keys, Sword, Mace, clothes, rations for her and for the group. She put on her armor, while Ari insisted she leave her uniform at the manor and bring casual clothes.

The twins were sound asleep in their bedrooms while Elaina and Noam were both preparing for the day in their own ways. Elaina doing her prayer and dance, while Noam simply did exercise and cast small spells to get the blood pumping.

Theo got up and stretched with a yawn. Bushes were surprisingly comfortable. "Okay." He said, thinking aloud. "Let's go over my list for today: make sure that The Adventurers see the Assasins that may or may not be after them and possibly fighting Assasins myself. Wonderful." That last bit was sarcastic, of course, but everything else was completely serious. Theo had no doubt the adventurers could ap take down the Assasins but if they couldn't see the Assasins they were in for some trouble. After all, you can't kill what you can't see. With that wonderful thought Theo created an illusion around himself, hiding himself from prying eyes, and took off into the sky.

Arabelle was sitting on her bed folding clothes that needed to be picked, and making the kids were all ready. She went into Willow’s room and petted her hair gently, kissing her forehead. “Good morning, babygirl. It’s time to get up. You can nap on the way over, but you have to get up for a little bit.” She went and turned on a light, warning Willow. “Close your eyes, darling, I’m going to turn on the light. Ari is upstairs if you want to go see him.”

"Alex stop pestering your sister!" Bailey called from her bedroom, trying to shove one last thing into her suitcase. Sounds of Alex messing with Scarlett as she was trying to brush her hair continued, which made her sigh. She could Herah chuckle. "What are you launching at?" Bailey asked with a cocked eyebrow looking at her teifling guard. Herah shook her head, "Your children are...intresting, milady," She said, "Do you need some asstiantce with you luggage?" "No thank you, but please keep Alex from pesting the twins, they need to get ready," Bailey said, turning to her with a smile. "Yes ma'am," The guard said with a smile, walking out of her bedroom to go make sure the kids got ready.

She yawned and sat up. Willow was definitely not a morning person. She'd need immediate attention. Fortunately, Nala was nearby and woke up when she did. Nala jumped into Willow's arms. "I'm hungry. Are we gonna eat before we leave?" She yawned again and went to her wardrobe to change from her pajamas. "If we go to Faylen, I need to wear something presentable......"

Ari Waesmor

Ari walked out of the house and over to the O'Connor house. Not even bothering to knock, he walked in. "Morning, my maids are getting breakfast prepared. Nothing huge like usual. Just make sure you're there. Tyr is more unbearable than usual when he's hungry, and he's not gonna try to sustain himself on that stale ass bread he keeps on him."

“I already packed some nice outfits for you, but there should be some left that you will like. Daddy said breakfast will be ready in about fifteen minutes.” Arabelle kissed her forehead and then used her cane to navigate into Ryan’s room. She woke him up and he immediately hugged her and got all excited. He was quite a morning person. She didn’t need to tell him what to do, he got ready obediently on his own.

Valthomir stood atop a hill, overlooking the calm and peaceful setting of Loudwater. He watched it wake slowly. At such an early time in the day, only the few who had matters to tend to were up and about. The laborers and, surprisingly, a few children. It was a welcoming sight... but should he introduce himself? Valthomir pondered the idea in silence, his expression a dead one.

If he entered the town, would someone recognize him? Would he find papers of the price on his head lining the town's news-board? To be honest, Valthomir had not a clue how much he was worth, and whether he was wanted dead or alive. He could only assume the answer was dead.

A sigh escaped from between his dry lips. Even more now than it did a week or two ago, his hair needed immediate attention. His clothes, filthier than the day he first met battle, were wrinkled and loose from the rainy days making a mess upon him. He didn't wear his black robe or sash, but only his black and white under-clothes, while the robe and sash laid over his left shoulder. You could even see his bare chest, covered in many discolored scars, as his shirt wasn't tucked into his hammer pants like usual, nor was it tied by thin, silk ribbons on the inner side.

"Goodmorning Mr.Weasmor," Herah said as Air walked to Bailey, Scarlett sitting on her shoulders holding onto her horns. "Oh, wonderful. I take it we're eating over in your manor?" Bailey asked, snapping her suitcase shut. Unlike her normal clothing, she was wearing a dress for once; a white one at that, that hung off her shoulders with a thin gold trim, and gently hugged her hourglass figure. Her hair was down, not pulled back or tired up, which was another unusual sight "How's Arabelle?" Kylesar1 Kylesar1

Ari bowed respectfully at the guard before speaking. He changed immediately upon seeing Bailey's look and that guard. "The name is Ari Waesmor. Black Assassin and formerly the Shadow Rose. Pleasure to meet." It wasn't often that Ari was polite outside of using it for an assassination mission. He did keep to his word of not causing trouble

He then addressed the one he came to speak with. He decided to not do his usual brand of being a dick. Why? Bailey's new look threw him off. Also, they had stuff to do. "An unusual but pleasant look, Bailey, and yea we are. I take it we all have far too much to do to cook breakfast ourselves, so the maids are doing it. One less thing to worry about."

He had to think a moment to pinpoint what to talk about when it came to Arabelle, but he decided to just spill it...... Somewhat. "As for Arabelle, her nightmares have only gotten worse, but no more worries there. I've called in some favors, which is why we're going to Faylen in the first place. I'm ending those nightmares and getting her back to normal physically."

Now for a subject he didn't want to talk about but was just as important. "What about Tyr? Is he done moping yet?"

Arabelle looked over at Alison and nodded, quietly obeying. She went back to her bedroom and changed into a dress and put her veil on since she knew she would be outside with people she didn’t know. She sighed softly and sat on the bed, rubbing her face. She was so tired. She hadn’t slept for three days, she had forced herself to stay awake because over the past few weeks her nightmares had been torturing her. She had lost some hair, she was so stressed and exhausted.

Mithras strapped on his right shoulderpad.

It was after his morning routine of calisthenics, a morning bath, and dulling the voices. He strapped on his left shoulderpad.

Mithras kept thinking about his conversation with Alison a few weeks in the back. It was stuck in his mind like a pebble in a shoe. What if there was some substance to their theories? Surely, it's all just a crazy, absurd coincidence that their train of thought took them in that direction. There can't be any other explanation. Mithras put on his gauntlets and gloves, then fastened his silvery helmet on his head. He took the scabbard with his sword in it, and strapped it the brown leather belt on his waist, then took his shield and strapped it to his back. Normally, a human shouldn't be able to carry around this much armor without trouble, but Mithras' equipment was made out of mithril. Tougher than steel, lighter than a feather... well, that's an exaggeration.

Mithras looked at himself in the mirror. A fully-armored paladin, ready for work. Just because of seeing his reflection, he felt the instinctual urge to kneel and pray. Prayer, however, is the statement here. The question is: Pray to who?

Mithras sighed and walked to the balcony, leaving behind the comfort of his room's interior. He took off his helmet to take a wheeze. Mithras took a deep, satisfying breath through his nose.

WHEEEEEZEEEEE. "Oh, yeah, smell that nature! That's the stuff."

Mithras looked across Loudwater and observed the citizens. A trio of children was playing outside with sticks, pretending to be valiant knights. On another end of the street, a probably-homeless dog was being fed a steak by the generous restaurant owner, while at yet another juncture, Mithras saw several passing adventurers discussing their plan of action for an upcoming dungeon raid. He could only assume they had been hired by less-than-reputable people for a less-than-respectable job.

Mithras saw a rather pale, foreign warrior on a hilltop, watching the city on his own. He saw a pair of froggits playing in a pool of water. He saw many lives, each one worth more than can be described with words.

But, despite that, everything Mithras saw, he deemed worth protecting. If the conversation he held with Alison had some truth to it, he would denounce the Gods for their own, hypocritical sins and the destruction they caused. For now, however, he didn't want to make enemies out of Gods.

Bailey chuckled, "Oh please, I would have had to chance when she got to Faylen's border, I figured this was the easiest thing to do," She said, talking about her outfit. but Bailey did like it. Sometimes, she liked to wear dresses, and the ones he elves made were soft and breathable, but very pretty, so she had no complaints. "Oh really?" Hearing that her nightmares were still a problem made Bailey frown. She hates heading about it, but well, Bailey of course knew they wouldn't go away so easily. "I hope you're not planning on doing anything stupid, you have a tendency to go about extreme. Have you been allowed back.onto the castle grounds yet?" She asked with a chuckle, picking up her suit case, and leaving the room, beckoning for Ari to follow. The topic changed to Tyr, which caused her to pause, "No, Ari...hes going to be like this for a while. And we just have to be bsre.for him so he can get through it, okay?" Kylesar1 Kylesar1

The wolf had managed to get Uriko a bath to the child's dismay. After that initial one he was introduced to many others accompanied by perfumes and speech lessons. They even cut off all his hair. Admittedly it felt nice not to have tiny creatures biting and sucking blood from his scalp. He was also more agile without the weight and drag, but he had lost a large portion of his strength. Now all adults were stronger than him.

The pink haired boy did his morning stretches then walked around in the walk-in closet that had been converted into small room. He pondered on the events that lead up to this moment. Most of his memories involved him being disciplined by Ari and the house's head maid. The only two people who could get the child to act properly without promise of food. He didn't quite enjoy new lumps on his head.

Outside the door he could hear the house come to life. With his eyes closed he listened intently on the events going on with his triangular ears. "[They're awake! Awesome!]" he happily said in his native tongue, eager to play with the children of the manor. He opened the closet door and stepped out into the servants quarters. There was a set of youth butler clothes laid out for him. Obviously it was meant for him to wear. Uriko grabbed the belt from the clothes and a towel that was hanging off of a chair. He wrapped the towel around his wait and secured it with the belt. "[Haha, Perfect]" he looked proudly at himself in the mirror.

*Note: Speech in brackets are spoken in Uriko's native language.

As Theo was flying he was on the lookout for glimmers. Glimmers were a sort of wavyness, like that caused by heat, that was the only hint to a where a cloaked Aether might be. Glimmers were hard to spot to the untrained eye which was why Theo had 20 years of training under his belt to spot the. The stopped, hovering above the center of town, the perfect place to watch for Assasins as he could see all the way to the edges of the town. He spotted Waesmor Manor, the home of two members of The Adventurers, in the distance. On one of the balconies of the manor, a figure stood. Although he couldn't see very well from that far away, Theo was sure it was the ex-paladin who served as a bodyguard for the Waesmors. Theo knew he should probobly alert someone to his intentions. Someone who could keep people from killing him when he alerted them of Assasins. He figured the ex-paladin was as good as any. Better than most of him. All of the adventurers would try to kill him if he even got close and the maid from earlier would either kill him or tell her masters so they could kill him. He flew towards the balcony and landed, disengaging the illusion but keeping up the part hiding his wings. "We need to talk." He said gravely, just to add a flare of drama but also because it was about a rather grave matter.

After a moment of thought, Valthomir decided that his bounty would most likely reach city walls before the likes of a small town. Then again, he still knew little of Rivinia. He knew not the importance of Loudwater and the heroes it sheltered. That is something he would soon learn, however.

With a step forward, the swordsman's foot met with a downhill slope, and he began to descend. A trail of dirt and dust spiraled behind him, then he met the flat, grassy ground and grunted. His golden eyes peered around, wary of anyone watching him. There was no one. Valthomir approached the town, caution at his swords, and made note to avoid eye-contact with anyone. He looked for a place to eat, for the proper coin could be found in his pockets and satchel.

Mithras remembered his promise, however. He gave his word, and since Mithras honors his agreements. Mithras looked up at Theo again, with serious, but visibly tired, perhaps sad eyes. "Actually, on second thought - you can go ahead. What is it?"

"Okay." Theo began slowly. "I'm gong to tail the traveling party to faylan to watch for Assasins to warn you guys." Theo paused again, wondering what words to choose. "I need someone to know about this in case someone, and by that I mean one of The Adventurers or their associates, try's to kill me when I try to warn them. Long story short I need you to vogue for me. Because I don't like being killed and if they don't take my warning seriously they could be killed. I'm asking you because I don't particularly trust the maid to vogue for me and the adventurers would probobly try to kill me if I told them ahead of time."

Ari followed her and stood by the door. He shrugged with a chuckle at her bringing up the castle incident. "Nah. Still banned from castle grounds under the threat of a bounty unless the king himself summons me...... I'm going to extreme measures to do this, Bailey, but this won't affect anyone but me. For once, I won't make your life hell."

The subject of Tyr came up. "What happened? You wouldn't be asking me to bare with him if you didn't know anything."

Noam Waesmor
Loudwater Town
Noam was very popular amongst the townsfolk, and he was out there conversing with the people, telling them about his trip, charming the ladies and signing a few autographs. His escapades with Ethan during the Endless Demon War didn't go unnoticed. At only 11, him, and a squirrel knight led all the warriors in a defensive formation to protect Toronto and evacuate the innocents. Needless to say, he became popular along with all the heroes. At 17 now, he was a refined warrior, one of those types that was popular and came off as very rich.

He had to get slightly on guard though as a newcomer walked into the city. Newcomers were only ever with a trade caravan or came in on a caravan day. Those that didn't were usually criminal. Still though, he greeted the newcomer. "Morning, newcomer and welcome to the humble town of loudwater," he said politely, holding an orb in his hand

"Uriko! Get ready!" Alison hated this child. He was the child from hell. Maverick brought the child back to the manor for a bath. It took 7 maids to get him in the tub and only when Ari came and punched him through a wall did he stop squirming, probably because he was unconscious. They cut his hair and washed that unbearable odor off him. Not even Ari's wolves were allowed to smell like that. Fortunately for her, Ari gave her discipline authority over Uriko. Why did her master take the child in anyways?

She caught him trying to not wear the clothes. She pointed at the clothes and held up her mace in a threat he should be able to understand.

Bailey would pause, bitting her lip. Tyr, she knew, wouldn't tell them. And she promised not to but...."If you breathe a word that I am the one who told you, so help me, I will ruin you," She muttered, turning to Ari. "Tyr tried to kill himself. He was drunk, but he's been depressed for a while, and being drunk only lead him to do it. I was lucky enough to find him in time, and save him," She explained, quickly and quietly. "The kids don't know, so if you confront him about it, make sure they aren't around." Kylesar1 Kylesar1

Suicide?!

"I'll kill him myself, I swear to fuck." Ari muttered, fidgeting with his staff. "I had to destroy all the alcohol in your house to keep you from drinking yourself to death. I have to do that shit again......geez. I'll stay silent, mostly because Arabelle will add another stresser to her list. I'm getting rid of that alcohol though. Neither of you can seem to handle it." Ari sighed and shook his head. Sometimes he felt like the only sane one. Bailey only just recently proved herself sane

"How did we ever survive the quests we undertook?" he muttered as he took a seat. He was angry and concerned, and had no idea which one took precedence.

Ari looked up. "But we're alive, and I value my time here. If not for me then for my kids. I suppose I have to beat that back into Tyr......enough of that."

No point in dwelling on the subject. Luckily, Bailey brought up the travel plans. Specifically the transportation

"We have horses. However, If you'd prefer to fly, I can Summon creatures that'll carry us there no problem." He paused and pulled out a map. On the map were a bunch of calculations, which took into account weather conditions, stops, and possible fights. Whether by skipping everything by flying or horsing there, the difference was only about 2-3 hours, as flying creatures would need more frequent breaks. "Regardless though, it's a long trip and Toron is the halfway point. Whether by horse or flying, they'll have to stop there, which is good. I have to pick up some twin blades." Twin blades? Ari hated swords.

Seconds after entering the town, with his gaze towards the ground, Valthomir sensed someone approaching. He quickly glanced up to see a richly man of gentle features, hinting at his young age. This boy carried a strange orb in his hands, which struck suspicion in Valthomir. He wondered what it was for.

Politely, he decided to smile, "Thank you. Good morning." He even gave a gentle bow, but you could tell it was forced. After all, he hadn't spoken a word to any normal human since escaping Armageddon. He'd only encountered men and women of evil intentions, so it was hard to loosen up. "It's my first being here. Call me Lion."
