Fantasy The Calm After War (Always Open and Accepting)

And he was met with a barrage of cannon balls at his ship. Kondor jumped after the first cannon ball hit the little air ship. He jumped onto a another cannon ball. He only used the second as a touching point; he was quickly jumping and extending a bandage toward the ship. The bandage wedged itself between the side of the ship.

Kondor ended up dangling from the side of the airship. He pulled himself up and he began to run up the side of the ship. He threw himself above the deck and onto the top of the ship, well he fumbled onto the top of the ship.

He was breathing heavily in a pool of blood. He noticed; he freaked out a little bit.

"My options living, they're going to be someone killing. Mutiny or crazy captain. Or something else happin'd. "

He stands up kicks around the blood.

"So..ergh, I better takeover the ship..."

He over the ship.

"Or I could crash it..."

He begins to walk around the deck inspecting for any clues on how to fly a giant airship.

"ALRIGHT WOOD DO YOUR WORST HAHHAH, yep"

Kondor

Not a clue whatsoever could be found on the sky deck. Nothing but blood and limbs lie about the ship. The options of travel was the Pirate Wing and the Elite Wing. Of course, he had no idea what led where or the population of the areas

“Oh dear lord,” Arabelle muttered. “He’s not the love of your life, moron. He’s mine, and he won’t want you anyway.” She turned to Ari and put her hand on his shoulder. “He’s the one who’s going to teach you your new magic, Ari. You can’t kill him.” She kissed his lips gently and for a little longer than she normally would just to spite the captain. She hated when anyone disrespected their relationship.

The captain tried to stand up, but got up to a blade in his face. Ari sighed. He had no choice but to let the pain in the ass live in the interest of learning his new magic. "You're under new management, Captain whatever the fuck."
More flustered moaning from the Captain's lips. "I'll let you manage me any day, Captain. I hope this didn't put a damper on our relationship. I'm Avery Valencia, but for you and Tyr only, you can call me baby, sweetie, dear, anything along those lines. I hope we get along well." Ari wanted to vomit. So this is where his life ended up............

“Kill me now,” Arabelle muttered. “I want you at least four feet away from my husband at all times,” she frowned at Avery, and held Ari’s hand. She was clearly unhappy. She rolled her eyes and sighed heavily. She laid her head on Ari’s shoulder.

"So you train as though it were life or death? I'm assuming that these fields heal. Now if he is that fast would my usual sit back and watch even work. Maybe I'd have to take a few hits. Then once I'm sure a good surprise could catch him off guard. No if I take a few hits and he's as fast as you say. Then a few hits would become ten or more. I'll have to reth-." Selra slowly looked at her second blade. It augmented her abilities. But her hatred of the blade made her even more upset that she had to rely on it. If Noams dad was as powerful as he said all she had to do was draw the blade at the right time. But she had no training when it came to mages. "Noam if we make it to Toron do you mind if we could spar. I've no experience fighting mages. And I feel like it would be a good idea to familiarize myself with fighting a mage."

"I suppose in a few minutes then. We're here now." Toron was the Capital of Rivinia, the home of the monarch. The city was fairly well-guarded with that in mind. Here, LOTS of nobility, business leaders, aristocrats, and soldiers lived. Livings were made, families were formed, warriors were trained, all in this great city

"As for your questions, doubtful that it'll work. Allowing a mage a chance to set up is the absolute worst thing to do, especially if they're a summoner like my Dad was. All he'd have to do then is overwhelm you with numbers. Most mages are weak physically, but he isn't. The best way to go about beating him is to be fairly balanced.........not necessarily in Magic vs Physical, but in Offense vs Defense. My Dad's maid managed to beat his challenge to become a bodyguard and she has no magic affinity either, though that's not saying much as she was trained by top notch knights."

They pulled into Toron and moved over to the middle of the city, where all the merchants were set up. It was around Noon at this point and it was starting to get busy. "Strap up and buy what you need. When you're ready, we'll head over to the Knight's Training Ground. I'm welcome there due to the events 4 years ago."

"No can do. Like it or not, I have to get close to Ari so I can teach him what he needs to know." He sighed longingly as he fantasized. "Nothing like a nice Teacher/Student Roleplay to get the juices flowing." His nose started bleeding. "Do us a favor and stay away will you? I don't want you hindering my chemistry with Ari. Your being blind has already-"

Ari punched him through another wall before another word came out of his mouth. "This is my wife, and you will respect her, or I'll gouge your eyes out and disable any and every part of your body that's not used to cast a spell. I WILL SLASH YOU TO PIECES LONG BEFORE I LEARN FROM A DISRESPECTFUL ASSWIPE LIKE YOU!"

That jarred Avery, who was in the middle of getting up. Emotional pain could be felt as physical pain. The words put Avery back on his butt. Ari punching him was one thing. To him that was just the Ari he loved, but for Ari to be that legitimately pissed off and yelling at him..........that hurt, and he actually felt a lot of pain. Specifically heart pain. He started whimpering and his eyes welled up with tears. ".......I-I'm......" He hung his head, tears openly flowing, but no sounds emerged as he sobbed. "Please don't be mad at me. I'm sorry, love, I-"

"I'm the only asswipe I love. You'd better get a clue or you're dead to me." Those words hit even harder. Dead to me. He worshipped the ground Ari walked on. He did understand though. You can't disrespect someone's loved ones and get away with it. Of course, even as Ari was making his threat, he still knew how to choose the right words. The threat assumed that there was still a chance...........Avery jumped up and bowed profusely. "I promise. I'm sorry. I won't do it again. I'll teach you everything, even how to make me feel good, though I'm sure you already know."
Ari rolled his eyes. "Jesus Christ......."

Zafiro

Again, Zafiro fell into silence. Still, he was grateful of one thing - the journey was a lot quieter and shorter than he expected. As the trio approached the gates, Zafiro sighed - somewhat with relief. "Well, I guess this is where we part. I have my own work to do here, after all." With that, he turned his horse and instead of going towards the Training Grounds, like the other two, and headed off towards the Great Library (I imagine a capital city like Toron would have one or at least an equivalent - if not, tell me and I'll change it).

Arabelle bit her lip when he mentioned her being blind. Even if she wasn’t anymore, it still hurt. She held Ari’s hand tighter. “I’m going to go check on the kids,” she told him softly, kissing his cheek. She turned and walked out of the room, going to find Ryan and Willow. She found Ryan, curled up and asleep. She held him gently and kissed the top of his head, and then went to find her daughter.

Selra was all set for training. But she still wanted to improve her own skills. It was all a matter of waiting. She had no idea if any of her gold pieces were worth much here. So all she felt she could do is sharpen her skills. And while she believed Noam would have been a bad sparring partner his fight with the Wraith more then showed age was not a factor here. "Maybe I can try drawing it again. Just not all the way." As she says this she only raised her second blade partially from the sheath. In only a second she felt the all too familiar feeling of the blade digging into her head. She quickly put it back as she knew prolonged contact was not good for her own sanity. "This place is weird. The blade itself feels stronger here. And the air feels different. Maybe it's the trees and actual plants."

"I'll let you live and I'll take your services, but this ship is mine now. Your crew? Mine. Got it?" Avery shook his head vigorously. "I'm whatever you want me to be. I can please you in any way, and I want you to put me to good use. I'm your slave."
Ick. Ari said nothing though. He felt like these sexually charged comments were not gonna end any time soon. But whatever. This ship was his to control now.

The entire Airship glowed a bright white. "You've gained control of an airship, the former captain, and a crew. Impressive, Mr. Waesmor. You're starting to overcome your kill first nature to become more balanced. That'll do you well with the Arcane Arts." Artemis again

Fuck off, Ari thought. You sent this turd to teach me shit.

"But you have to realize something, Mr. Waesmor. Look at Avery. Someone like him would never become a Pirate Captain unless he had enough magic skill to make it so. Emotion Manipulation, Memory Manipulation, Telekinesis, Telepathy, Divination. He's an incredibly skilled Psychic. Him being someone you hate is all the more need for you to learn from him. You'll be able to conquer your most deeply burning blood rages. It's now time to alter your magic for good. We gave you leniency to complete this mission. Now it's either learn or go without it."

All the magic in Ari's body was drained out and changed. He felt an otherworldly feeling, a rather peculiar one. He saw spirits now. They were floating around the ship. It was full of them, due to the sheer amount of slaying that happened. His senses were increased. He was brimming magic, but it gave off a weird vibe. As much as he felt the magic though, he couldn't tap into it. He didn't know how His sword also changed. Before, it changed so he could still use it to kill the pirates. Now, it changed to accomdate his magic type. It turned into a blade with Nordic Runes inscribed all the way down it. This was a spiritual blade, one that Ari would have to bring out to really unlock the secrets of his magic. The hatchet was the same, made with Viking and Nordic inscriptions all over it. He lost his throwing daggers in favor of these. He'd summon and throw these. His dagger was changed to a more ritualistic one, one that should serve to amplify his magic once he unlocked it. His gun was no longer one focused on death and death alone. That was temporary. This one was seemingly less aggressive, at least in what it suggested to the user.

The entire ship changed appearance. This was his ship now, customized to his will. "After it gets cleaned, it'll look a bit more like your house. Until it's cleaned though, you'll keep looking in the disgusting last airship."

The demon in Ari's head disappeared for good. With it, Ari's bloodlust. He felt an overwhelming peace about him and he had a blue aura about him. He looked at his crew, no longer wanting to murder everything. He actually spoke to his crew now, not just yelling at them under the threat of death. "Get to cleaning. We may land in Toron depending on how Bailey's feeling. I want it clean before we get to Faylen." With an awe-filled nod at watching Ari's stuff change, the pirates left to start cleaning. "You, Avery, move your stuff to a different room. I'll put you above the others in position, but you still answer to everyone I'm with. Got it?"

At the words, Avery's eyes lit up. He hugged a teddy bear. "I knew you loved me, Ari."
"Just get it done, Avery. Steer the ship until I come back."

Ari walked out and down to Bailey and Tyr. "Oi, Bailey. Are you feeling well? If you're not by this point, we have to land in Toron."

She was ready, so they started moving to the training ground. "To conquer magic, you have to conquer yourself. That goes for every force on the planet. Unless that's a demon blade, you're not able to control it because you're letting the magic control you."

They made it to the training field. Noam was greeted with lots of respect from the knights. He was very well liked there. With only a couple of words, the Training Field was prepared. Noam stood on one side with Selra having to stand on the other. "There's absolutely nothing you can do to kill me or yourself permanently on this field, so we'll both be able to test the limits of each other and the magic within that blade." Noam's small orb turned into a sword and a set of armor

12aa2a6edf56f2b66530baf1877b8911.jpg

His armor was light mythril. His sword had a weird aura about it. Noam was issued this armor at his Battle Mage School. This was some of the best Light Armor in Faylen. Protectively speaking, it rivaled the moderate Knight's Armor given to the average knight while feeling like one was wearing leather. His sword was featherweight, which went well with conserving Noam's energy so he could put it all into getting set and striking as fast as possible. The cape draped over his right shoulder gave off a weird magic vibe, different than the rest. It was definitely something he could use as a trick

He got into the Elven Fighting Stance, most known for speed and taking advantage of slower and less thoughtful opponents. "When you're ready, we'll dance."

Selras eyes widened at Noams comment about control. Maybe he was right. Maybe her hatred for it has been keeping her from truly mastering it. "Then for too long I've let my homelands opinion on magic control me. And if there is no way. I will control this blade and I will keep going until your father shows up!" With this Selra grasped the blade and pulled it out of it's scabbard. Just the act of drawing it caused darkness to leak out from the scabbard in large amounts. And already Selras seemed to struggle as black veins spread across her body. "Don't hold back anything. I will c-control th-this blade." Already the blade had effected her mind causing her too stutter. But her eyes remained on Noam as she ran forward with the blade in hand. It was clear she was waiting for Noam to make a move. Her own blade was held waiting for him to do something and once he did it would be swung.

Arabelle walked up to Ari, still holding Ryan in her arms. “Where’s Willow?” She was worried about the whereabouts of the little child. “She finds trouble wherever she goes.” She then noticed the difference in his tone and his look. “What happened?” She took his hand.

Noam saw an easy way to win. Just use Holy Magic. However, he wanted her to control the blade. The effects of Holy Magic on uncontrolled Dark Magic could be catastrophic. Maybe even disable the Training Field, or crack her mind for good. He'd go without it for this fight. She told him to not hold back, but it would result in permanent mental damage to her if he did.

"Guard Breaker." Noam stuck his sword in the ground, then pulled it out, swinging it towards her, sending a shockwave along the ground to her. It was easy to see and easy to dodge........if you jumped. It was too wide to sidestep. A direct hit would shatter any armor she was wearing immediately, a most useful move. The intent, however, was to change her trajectory for only a second. Noam then summoned an animal. A small flying rabbit. The rabbit flew around about as fast as rabbits ran on the ground. Faster in fact, to the point where every time it started flying in a particular direction, it gave off a sonic boom. It'd be just as much a pain in the ass to catch this thing in the air as it would on the ground. Noam then stepped forward, ready to charge

"I thought Willow was in here with Ryan. She didn't come with me at all."
"Ari dear!" Avery busted in the room. He yelled loud. "Here's your precious little bean. She's simply adorable!" He was hugging and squeezing Willow hard, rubbing his cheek against hers. "Can you let me go please?" She asked softly, a whisper, unwittingly activating a spell with her words. It sounded polite, but also had some fear in it. Willow's eyes were glowing red, but she wasn't struggling at all. She was hanging limp. She was paralyzed.
"Oh no no no! Ari would hate me if I let you get away around this ship alone. We can't have you getting hurt, now can we?" Willow was in absolute misery. She was an extreme shy type. Quinn and the Wraith were exceptions as they were creatures of the dark. For Avery though, she didn't know him, so this was a SEVERE violation of her personal space. There was a purple aura about Willow, which Avery thought made her look even more adorable. What Avery didn't seem to notice was that all of the spirits from the ship flowed around and formed a hooded skeleton wielding a scythe behind them and readying to swing. For a Psychic, he didn't seem to have much situational awareness. Willow was summoning the Grim Reaper to slay him and everything that scythe touched. Since Avery was at the door, a swing would kill half the people in the room

She was on her feet. Limping a small bit, but on her feet. "I think my nerves may still be a bit damaged as complete feeling hadn't returned yet, but in fine," She said with a smile, despite the fact she was actually in the middle of changing. But hey, this woman has very little shame left, someone she's known for years seeing her in her underwear was hardly phasing. Still had the body of a 22 year old by the way, same scars with a few newer ones. Herah however, while helping Bailey so she didn't lose balance, had a slight twinge of pink on her cheeks. She wasn't use to this, and since she maybe had a mild crush on the High Prophet...the fact Bailey was just in her underwear was...distracting.

Right before Avery bust in with Willow, Bailey had slipped in a blue dress of similar design as the white one, but with shorted sleeves, and a lower collar. Bailey watched as the spirits formed after Avery decided not to listen to the child. "Um...I'm assuming you were the captain, I would put Willow down if I were you, unless you really want to be killed. And I really don't want to be killed either. Might want to take a look behind ya love." Kylesar1 Kylesar1 Safety Hammer Safety Hammer P Paint The Wind

Arsbelle’s eyes narrowed when she saw Avery holding her daughter. “Put her down now,” she growled, getting angrier by the second. “Don’t touch my children, put her down!” Even if Willow didn’t always want to be around Arabelle she still understood and loved the little child, she would never ever let her get hurt. She knew Willow hated to be around strangers, it made her panicked. Plus, Arabelle hated Avery.

Tyr groaned, and looked at what he was wearing. His leather armor had been destroyed because of Willow turning him into a bear. So, by the time Avery had made his way into the room, he would see Tyr in his half naked glory. He was wearing torn, baggy hunter green trousers, and a vermilion shirt with the sleeves rolled up. Beggars couldn't be choosers. As he turned to see the TARI fan, he saw that he was holding Willow, and quickly swept her away from the trap and into his arms, pulling the trap away from the Grim Reaper. "Willow honey, please get rid of the grim reaper, or Aunt Bailey, Miss Herah and I will all be very upset."

Ari & Willow Waesmor
Boss Airship - Room

Normally, Willow would've loved to be in Tyr's arms. Unfortunately, Willow was in the room when he tackled Ari as a bear. He had the same effect on her as Avery. "YOU HURT MY DADDY!!" she screamed. OK, maybe a slightly worse effect than what Avery did. The Reaper formed faster. MUCH faster. Alright, a substantially worse effect. If anything, it was because she was still hurt by the action, especially since she was playing with the bear and watching him hug Ari. She was in some hard heartache right now.

The Reaper had formed fully. No stopping it now. It was finishing rearing back. It hissed now. Ari was VERY familiar with the spell. Being a father to a child like Willow had him seeing it plenty of time, but never did it ever swing. It just formed and then disappeared, or Willow tried to talk to it. Arabelle, however, was blind for that entire time. This would be her FIRST time actually seeing it. Was she smart enough to get down? Ari knew she was, but seeing death manifested could make anyone paralyzed. "EVERYONE GET DOWN!!" Ari yelled. He did a sweeping low kick to trip Avery, then he turned and dived on top of Arabelle and Ryan right as the Grim Reaper swung. The scythe slashed off a few strands of Ari's hair, but they were safe.

Avery fell and landed on his arm. It hurt, but looking up at the Grim Reaper made him appreciate that feeling. He had almost killed both Ari and Tyr. That feeling hurt.

Herah put her arm over Bailey after the two of them dropped, not wanting to risk anything else to happen to the High Prophet today. "Ari, you okay?" Bailey asked, ""Tyr, you too?" She had a feeling that The would have been since the grim reaper probably wouldn't have attack Willow, but still. And because of how causally he picked willow up, Bailey had a feeling that Tyr wasn't expecting that reaction. "Ari...you have a scary child," Herah muttered quietly, as she never expected something like that to be summoned by such a small child. "Shush you, it's not her fault." "It kinda i-ow!" Bailey had just flicked Herah on the forehead. "It is not." Bailey paused, "Alright, Willow honey are you okay?" Bailey couldn't just forget to ask about her, that would have been rude. Ari's Ship- Nearing Toron

With Willow still in Tyr's arms, the Reaper was rearing back to swing again. It took a HELL of a lot of dark magic to summon a Grim Reaper to swing even once. The dark magic it took to summon the Grim Reaper to swing just one time then disappear could resurrect every body ever placed in an ancient graveyard, and he was rearing back to swing again. Whatever Willow was feeling towards Tyr, it was STRONG. Strong enough for her to have the Reaper attack twice just to get out of his arms.

Ari took Willow from Tyr. He set her down and kneeled. He started talking to her like a father to a daughter, not like an adult to another adult, which was VERY uncharacteristic of Ari. "Hey. Everything's alright babygirl. No more touchies, ok?"
She nodded.
"Now, no more Reapers, ok? We'll look back in the books together tonight, ok?"
She smiled now, and all the spirits left the room. The reaper disappeared this time. What did Ari mean by the books? Obviously some father/daughter time that didn't come often enough, even though it was at least every other day. Knowing Ari, it most likely wasn't just mindless playtime. It would be something to help her control the Dark Magic a bit more. Ari hugged Willow and kissed her forehead.

He then turned back to the rest of the group. Normally he'd be fairly mad at Avery. However, Tyr was probably feeling a bit sick from what's happening and Willow's reaction probably buried the sword even deeper, so that made Ari lose any sort of anger that could've been building. However, something had to be done for the safety of everyone, and it may just twist the sword already buried in Tyr's chest. Willow was feeling far stronger emotions than normal, and instead of destructive explosions, it was turning into focused attempts to get rid of what she didn't like specifically, instead of everything at once. This was an attempt on Tyr and Avery's life. The rest of them collateral damage. This was the very first time this has happened to ANYONE. To Ari, it had to stem from heartbreak and stranger danger combined and that took precedence over her father's safety, the reason why she was doing it in the first place!! Avery, Ari couldn't care less about, but knowing how close Tyr and Willow were, and how much Tyr tried to be a good uncle to them, succeeding up until that point, and that this was the result of only one indiscretion, it didn't look good. Ari actually felt bad for Tyr, and was about to start feeling worse as he made the announcement that very much a necessary evil right now. With a sigh: "How about we establish a restraining order against the both of you. Avery and Tyr........ Unless Willow is about to die, which you both saw the Grim Reaper almost attack twice on her behalf so it ain't happening anytime soon, don't touch her until SHE says otherwise. If she doesn't want to be talked to, don't do that either. Arabelle and I have no control over that." He looked back at Avery who was still on the ground. No anger whatsoever. Ari was still too stunned himself to really conjure up anger to unleash. "Avery, as you just saw, my kids aren't your pets to pick up at will. They're mine and Arabelle's pets. They don't know you. At no time will you touch her unless her life depends on it, even after Tyr's restraining order has been lifted. This is for the safety of everyone in the area. I don't want you touching her and neither does Arabelle."

The mood had gone very somber and silent after that. The seriousness of the situation simply couldn't be ignored. Not even Avery could speak. He just lay there on the ground, staring at the now non-existent Grim Reaper that almost killed all of them and, on top of wondering what he did wrong to her, wondered why he, a Psychic, couldn't see the spirits come into the room or feel the Grim Reaper form behind him

After Ari had calmed Willow down, she walked up to her, taking her daughter’s hand. “It’s okay, sweetheart. I promise, everything’s okay. See, you even get special time with Daddy later,” she said soothingly. She was holding Ryan in her arms, who reached out and hugged his sister. Even if they usually fought, Ryan really loved her. The little boy had his holy magic in check. “I love you, Willow,” he told her softly. “Daddy is strong, he won’t get hurt.” Arabelle smiled and kissed the top of both their heads, listening to Ari lay down ground rules. She kissed him gently. “Thank you,” she told him, happy that he was able to calm Willow before anyone got hurt.

Tyr felt like he was going to vomit. He had never felt this rejected, this hated, in his entire life. His mouth was open, almost as if he was going to say something, but never did. He couldn't speak. The knot in his throat restricted every word, threatening to make them all come out as sobbing. He was absolutely distraught. Soon his legs began to move from their place, but only to walk over to the First Mate, and help him up to his feet. Quickly bottling up his emotions like usual, he couched to clear his throat..
"I-I'm Tyr." He said, softly and quietly, his voice cracking just subtly, "Do.. Do you know where I can get something to drink?"

Herah helped Bailey back to her feet, where Bailey check to see how well she could walk. She would then dismiss Herah, allowing her to collect her thoughts and calm down. "Tyr, I think I'll join you for that drink," The teifling said quietly, as she managed to squeeze our of the room. With that, Bailey apparched Ari, Arabelle, and they're kids. "Is she okay?" Bailey asked, giving Willow a soft smile. However, the answer may need to wait as two other small children ran into the room, and latched themselves onto Bailey's legs, "Mommy!" Tyler and Scarlett shouted in unision. Bailey chuckled, looking down at the smiling faces of her twins, "I was wondering when you guys would show up. Where's Alex?" "With daddy," Scarlett replied.

Alex had stopped in the door way, with his arms crossed, looking at Tyr. "Dad," he started, "What happened?" See, Alex wasn't an idiot. Far from.it really, and he had gone through more than what a normal kid his age should. He's gotten batter at reading people, especially his dad. He could see something was eating him just by looking at him and normally would have hugged him or soemthing but he spotted what happened from the hall, so Avery was kinda creeping him out. Tyr didn't even look back at Alex. "Stay with your mother, Alex."
