The Apprentice (Fox X Karcen)

[Karcen]

84 really didn't have anything to say to that she would just take the complement and sit down to wait for her master to finish his meal. She wondered how it tasted she didn't really taste things like a solid did just like she didn't feel things the same way . Still she could in a way but the best description of how she tasted things was to say it was muted and lesser than a solid would.

 

[Foxora]

After the meal Sebastian sighed with relief, glad to not feel his gut complain to him, then looked to her. "Thank you for the meal, Ellie, it was delicious" he was about to strike up a conversation, when something started pinging and a holo screen appeared in front of him.... groaned. "Alright, alright, I got it" he got up. and went over the more business looking end of the camp. I safe guess would be that the holo screen was a reminder to get that paperwork done before a certain deadline was reached. It was actually probably her first time seeing such a pouty sour look on her master's face as he begrudgingly went to go do his least favorite part of his job. "I'll be abit. I've requisitioned some tablets for you to read in case you want to learn some more things." He looked up at the setting sun. "I guess after this we'll only have enough time for me to feed you then turn in, too"

 

[Karcen]

84 watched her master get a bit of a sour look it had to be something to, do with the job that he had been putting off which sounded like something he would do save the dull parts for as late as he could. She could easily let him put the paper work off but that didn't sound right even if she had to forgo a fun feeding for something more mundane.


" You shouldn't put things you don't like off master, I can eat something else while you do whatever it is you need to" She said sounding something like a wife and a slave at the same time.

Sebastian scratched the back of his head, even no help from Ellie. He sighed "Fine fine, I got it" A holo screen appeared in front of him and he got to work. the sooner he could get this done the better. every now and again feeding the fire pit another log or two. It had gotten pretty late when he finally did finish and he flopped over his desk glad that it was all over but also fighting sleep.

 

[Karcen]

84 ate instead of her normal meal a piece of meat dissolving it inside of her in seconds, really slimes in theory could kill others in seconds by simply covering them then digesting them but that kind of thinking had ended long ago. She however didn't fight sleep and in time did go into the cabin and flee asleep while her master worked on his whatever he had to do.

Sebastian stumbled in some time later after finally completing his work, didn't even bother to change clothes as he entered the cabin and fell on the cot sleeping with her for what was left of the night.


The next day, the sun had no trouble shining through the tree tops and into the Cabin to aid in waking the two of them up.

When 48 woke up she was back in her normal small form all the extra water she had taken in had worked its way through her and evaporated or been soaked up during the night. This form at least held in water better than her big form and she liked it more as being to big or to small just felt odd and while others didn't mind it , it was something you just got used to and she wasn't used to it yet. 84 would normally move to go make breakfast but not today , it was different as they were camping.


" Master it is morning " She said.

Sebastian opened his eyes giving her a rather groggy look... closing his eyes again and giving a big yawn and stretch "Already? Alright, then" he slowly started to sit up. "Good Morning, Ellie"

 

[Karcen]

84 got out of the bed she didn't remember getting into it but she was in it no matter and it made sense. She did wonder what they would be exploring today they hadn't seen any living mountains yesterday after they had seen that vanishing stuff which apparently had surprised Sebastian a lot so not much must be able to do that.


" So what shall we be doing today?" She asked as she wanted for Sebastian to get ready for the day.

 

[Foxora]

He smiled scratching the back of his head. "Food first, then after that we start looking for signs of this oh so mysterious G class creature" he moved to the side of the cot to get on his feet, but not without a large yawn and stretch"

 

[Karcen]

" Ok master 84 said walking out of the cabin to where their supplies where the advanced technology keeping it fresh no doubt and the defenses her master had set up keeping anything interested in eating their stuff away. 84 didn't need to eat at all herself thanks to the meat she ate last night


" Anything you want in particular master?" 84 asked as she looked over the things they had brought to her the most reasonable thing was a ration pack it may not be good but it would be fast.

 

[Foxora]

"Any of those that has eggs in it? good source of protein in the morning" he called out as he looked at his outfit, since he was too tired to change and slept in it. he had to straighten it out see if it was worthy to take on the day. It seemed alright he figured so he started to preparing the jeep for deeper forest travel.

 

[Karcen]

84 looked over the bar and really there was little difference between them they were all about the same as far as nutrition, only the flavor varied and any who tasted them would say that barely mattered. still digging though the various covered bars reading the titles of the bars. Most of them were dinner of berried flavored but eventfully she found one that was correct or well fit the criteria.


" Here you are bacon and egg" She said moving to Sebastian and handing the bar to him.

 

[Foxora]

He took the bar. "Thaaaank you" he unwrapped it and stuck it in his mouth munching on it as he continued prepping the jeep. "Hmmm... Might need a mounted gun" He managed to say with the bar still in his mouth, tapping his chin in thought.

 

[Karcen]

84 didn't really know how a gun on the car would help, she was still stuck in the ideas of her planet which hadn't thought up cars yet , let alone the idea of sticking a big gun on them. So as she really had no opinion on the matter she instead got some of the spare water they had and drank it to replenish the water she had lost, or well replace it to more normal levels. She didn't think they would need spare drinks as well they were just going to come back later today.


" Do you think we will really need weapons?" she asked.

 

[Foxora]

"Well" he spoke as he was now pulling out a holo screen, flipping through it and on the back of the jeep holographic forms of various turrets were appearing and changing every time he swiped his hand across the hologram in front of him. "Generally at first we should try to see if we can make contact with it. A lot of things in this universe has the potential to be sentient, even life made of rocks." When he found the turret he was looking for he pressed the near bottom right corner of the hologram and the holographic image on the Jeep started to materialize when robotic arms appeared from below the jeep and looked like they were reconstructing it out of nothing. "If it's not then we see observe it for awhile. We hope that it's a docile creature or at the very least just protects it's territory, but if it happens to be a creature that see's us as food or is too persistent in trying to kill us. then we are obligated to take it down."

 

[Karcen]

" Yes master … let's just hope it isn't aggressive" She said as she watched the jeep change. As she still had the thoughts of this young world she thought she would have to use the big gun assuming she could move it as she didn't think it could move itself. She had a bad feeling about going after this creature she had read many stories and while information on this world was still polluted with rumors and exaggeration, there were many dangerous creatures on it and below it.

 

[Foxora]

After Breakfast and prep work, the two of them were off in the Jeep heading for the darker parts of the forest. "Ok, this time, if you use that gun, it will stay in place so yesterday's hand cannon episode won't be a factor again." He trove around a group of trees"

 

[Karcen]

84 nodded and got in the car and they drove off. the forest got thicker yet there were fewer things around as if they had all fled that was not a good sign. In truth they drove for nearly an hour with nothing happening but trees rustling. It was actually starting to seem like there was nothing out here like the ping had been a fake and they were chasing ghosts.


Then they entered a massive grove that looked like large chucks of the ground had been bitten out of the earth. Everything had been consumed like whatever had done it was eternally hungry and it was. In the center off this clearing standing over a slain high dragon and eating the massive beast was a tarrasque. This was the most dangerous creature on the planet, a hide as hard as diamond the strength to topple mountains, claws that tore though metal with ease, and a belly that never filled.


" Turn around " 84 said the second she saw the massive monster which didn't seem to notice them just yet she knew to be afraid of this monster.

 

[Foxora]

Sebastian was astonished at the creature, so many questions he wanted answers for as he was about to deploy a camera drone when Ellie spoke up. He turned to her confused. "Leave? but we just got here? I know it looks scary and all but-"

 

[Karcen]

The tarrasque apparently heard them or smelled them or something but it knew the two were here and lifted its head from its meal and looked at the jeep. 84 was terrified there were so many stories about tarrasques like they could kill with a glance, and that they could never be hit on purpose in religious circles they claimed these creature were wither the wraith of gods or monsters sent from darkest of forgotten gods to take revenge, no matter what they all agreed one tarrasque could end kingdoms. You couldn't fight them you could only run and hope they ate their fill and went to sleep.


The tarrasque charges and in seconds it was upon the jeep despite the distance it had been at. It's claws ready to slash down and kill them both. 84 moved quickly and stretched to get to the gun and fired into its palm hurting it like it had a mild burn.

 

[Foxora]

"Whoa!" Sebastian floored it now, right between the creature's legs while it was still thinking about it's claw. and off behind it. "Well it's safe to say that thing is hostile. Judging by that attack, it's got a tough hide... his irises started glowing blue again as he gazed at the creature. "Keep up that attack Ellie, Need to gather more data." He pressed a button and form the side of the jeep popped out a standard grade missile, once it locked on the huge target It shot off and went right for it's face. Sebastian seemed to be watching intently at the missile and creature, as if observing to see what would happen.

 

[Karcen]

84 just kept going despite knowing it would be useless, the tarrasque was far to monstrous despite finding out about technology and space recently and how magic wasn't real she fell back to thinking about this thing as some kind of god's wrath. She watched as the smoke cleared from the missiles and all they had managed to do was make it mad. The tarrasque moved fast far too fast and came along side the car just plowing though anything in its way without losing momentum. 84 only had second to react as the tarrasque slammed it's head into the car sending it flying, moving her body around Sebastian so he wouldn't get hurt.

Sebastian watched in intently watching to what the missile was able to do to the creature. Even to the point creature rammed the trunk his glowing blue eyes were on the creature, only breaking his gaze when the creature knocked the jeep into the air and something wet and cool started surrounding hi-!! Ellie?! he suddenly had a face of dread as he remembered she was still with him this whole time. Looking up seeing a blue distortion of the world infront of him.

 

[Karcen]

The two collided into a nearby tree and 84 moved off of Sebastian not wanting to drown him just wanting to keep him safe. The tarrasque instead of going right after them went after the jeep that had hurt it so, once that was ruined it turned back to the two.


" Run master it can't be hurt" She said noticing they hadn't even made it bleed at all as it turned to them ready to eat.
