The 45th Hunger Games

Taylor looked over to the new... 'guest' and slightly glared at him. He was tall and most likely a bit clumsy on his feet due to his size. She saw a log not too far from where he stood which could easily trip him if he didn't look down like most people his height since they usually look ahead instead of down. She looked to the boy beside her, unsure of what to do. She raised her arms and looked to the log and back to the blonde, hoping he'll catch on. She didn't want to hurt anyone, but this guy may not even give her a chance to get along with him, let alone escape with both her, and her new ally alive. She then looked back to the giant. He was really mean and not trying to think that some of us had it just as bad if not worse as he did unlike the other boy who was understanding and sincere.
Elliot caught on to Taylor's drift, and glanced sideways toward the log. Somehow, he felt like there wasn't a big enough time loop to trip him and escape. He had a ranged weapon, so even if they got far, he could still hit them when he regained his footing. Elliot slid his bottom lip between his teeth, keeping his posture firm and strong. Even if this guy was an inch or two taller than he was, Elliot was sure he could out wit him when it came down to it. He wasn't letting him hurt Taylor, and he also wasn't ready to die yet, either.

Orion looked at the guy and stared him back down.He wasn't in the mood to kill anyone and frankly thought these two would make excellent allies."Fine ill stand down."He says and putting his bow down walked over to them.He put his arrow back into the quiver and held his hands up."Looked I don't want no trouble, but umm were not exactly that far from the cornucopia and those District 1's and 2's are probably forming their alliances now.Now I may not be or look very nice but we can help eachother,im big and able to draw attention, you guys are small and can take out the competition and in the end me and you can have our little stand off guy...that is if we can come to an alliance."He said and looked from one to the other.
Elliot pursed his lips together, not putting his bow and arrow down until he was sure that this man wasn't going to pull a random swift attack on them. Eventually, after hearing him out, he put his bow and arrow away. "Well, you seemed to be begging for trouble earlier - saying that unlike me, you'd kill her," he echoed him, but eventually allowed himself to laugh. "We ran pretty far from the Cornucopia, and this pond is pretty secluded. Most of the other tributes are probably going to head for the larger rivers and lakes," he stated, and shrugged. "Perhaps we can find another further out?" He suggested, looking towards Taylor for approval. He then turned back to Orion. "I'm Elliot," he began, holding his hand out for him to shake. "And, with the variety, I think we'd form a pretty good alliance," he showed him a friendly smile. "And hey-I'm not that small," Elliot stated, being that he was only a couple inches shorter than this man was.

Eric felt the fingers of his right hand (which were still wrapped around the hammer) twitch. He should kill her. So why couldn't he force himself to swing at her?

The last minute or so had felt like it had happened in slow motion. The thrown dagger whizzing past his head, his hammer missing her completely after she had dodged away at the last second. The two of them dragging each other down after he lost his footing... The spear that had come so close to ending his life, and one of the girl's trademark blades protruding out of his would-be-killer's chest. It had all been too close. His life had not ended simply because of dumb happenstance.

Eric's hand twitched again. He should kill her. Strike down the pale, ethereal girl before she could react. He knew he could do it. And yet he knew he couldn't, either.

There was something about her pale skin, silvery hair and colourless eyes that was oddly beautiful. Exotic and unusual, and so very delicate... But beautiful. She was like a shimmering flower, or a full moon staring back at you from the night's sky. Despite her appearance, however, Eric knew she was no push over. She had held her own against him, even though he towered over her, in frame and stature. This girl was intriguing, and he hated beyond measure.

Because he knew he would never be able to kill her.

Eric surveyed the entire area. The cornucopia was deserted. Bodies were scattered around the plain, and a good amount of supplies were gone, but nobody who was still alive other than himself and the girl in front of him appeared to be anywhere near them. That meant that he was relatively safe, as long as the silver haird girl didn't decide to plant a dagger between his eyes.

He turned his gaze back to the girl in question, and smiled wryly. He bent down slightly, and grabbed a piece of fine fabric -- the girl's hood -- off the ground.

"You dropped this."

Orion smirked lightly and took Elliots hand."Yeah but your still smaller than me."He said and let go of his hand then looked at the two of them."My name's Orion and just so you know that little thing with the log im not stupid and i'm not that clumsy,i'm just really hard to hide away,as you or anyone else could see during the training when I got to camoflauge."He said and rubbed the back of his head.He wasn't usually one to get embarressed but guessed since he was to work with them a little embarressment wouldn't hurt.

Seeing that the two seemed to be warming up to each other slightly, Taylor relaxed. "And I'm Taylor!" she smiled to the hopefully new ally next to Elliot. "At least you two aren't as small as I am. And about the camouflage, I can help out with that." she giggled at their statements of size as she stood at 5'2 and she was talented at camouflage. She patted the two on the shoulders reassuringly, smiling up them since they really did have size on her as well as being about three years older from what she could make out.

Serenity took her cloak from Eric, and concealed herself once more. She felt as though she should thank him, but was far too stubborn to do so. Well - at least clearly. "Thank.. Thank you," she mumbled under her breath, her voice barely audible as she scurried to her feet and pulled her hood more over her face, shielding herself from the sun. She looked around with her pale eyes, noticing that the Cornucopia was seemingly empty. Apparently everyone got their supplies and darted away as fast as they could. Serenity couldn't say that she minded - the more for her... And, apparently Eric.

"You're Eric, from District Two?" she asked, being that he left quite the impression during the training. He was a volunteer, one of the dangerous careers who was the son of one of the previous victors - word gets around. She pursed her pale pink lips together, them forming a tiny line as she backed away from him a little bit. "I'm Serenity, from District Three," she stated, and then began making her way towards the crates containing the food and other supplies. She was right next to the one that Tracy was hiding in, but Serenity didn't know she was in there quite yet.

She grabbed herself a green apple from one of the crates, allowing herself a couple bites. Her unique eyes peered through the shadow of the cloak, meeting with Eric's brown and ice blue pair. "... Allies?" she offered, seeing as he could be quite the helping hand. His strength was incredible, and she recalled him getting a fairly high score whenever their skills were reviewed. She got a fair one herself - a nine. She could have gotten higher, but she couldn't find any ways to express her tactical and stealth skills.

She walked away from the crates and back towards Eric, looking at all the corpses. They didn't call it a bloodbath for nothing - where there was once green grass was now a bloody mess, like red mud. She could feel her voice get caught in her throat, and for a moment she felt like she was about to cry, but she choked back her tears, not allowing herself to show any weakness. Not here, not now.

She simply pulled her hood more over her face to cover it up.
Elliot rolled his purple eyes, letting out a soft chuckle. "It's nice to meet you two," he stated, his expression warming and softening. He then listened as Taylor stated her name, and seemed to be softening up, as well. This made Elliot smile - he liked the air around them. Sure, he knew it would disappear once the numbers began to grow smaller, but still... For now, he was enjoying it.

"I'm pretty good with concealing myself, and other forms of stealth - Taylor and I can help out with that," he stated, grinning. "And you can add more manpower in Taylor's stead," he continued, teasing Taylor a little bit as he did so. Elliot took note of his spear and bows and arrows - "Archer? How experienced?" he asked, raising his brows in interest. "I've been an archer since as long as I can remember, and I'm a fair swordsman, but I didn't have the time to grab a sword," he shrugged, but then remembered that they sometimes put blades in the survival packs.

He began rummaging through his, and saw that there was a short sword inside. "Well, well," he chuckled happily. "This survival pack was meant for me." He stated, and then turned back to Orion. "What's in yours? I've got some rope, this blade, and a water filter."

Orion smirked and nodded at Taylor then watched as Elliot rummaged through his pack.He turned and began rummaging through his and nodded."I've got a water filted,a small bundle of food, and a tent woah cool."He said and closed his pack then put it on his back.

He turned to Elliot as he had asked about his being an archer."Oh well my dad taught me just in case this happened ya know but i'm alot smarter than that,I got my friend who led me and the other girl from my district to give me specific arrows which were in the way of where I was going."He said and taking out one of his arrows and fitting it into his bow shot it at a tree. When it hit it made a small buzzing sound and a large burst of electricity shot out."See their electrical,ya know just in case my target doesn't die from the arrow."He said an going over put a small needle into the arrow and replaced it in his quiver.

Elliot raised a brow, impressed by Orion's display of the electric arrows. "That's stunning," he commented, and then began to examine his own arrows. He didn't think there was anything special about them, but as he looked closely, he could see that the tips seemed to be coated with something.

"Is that-" he began, trailing off as he got a closer look. "These tips are coated with poison. That's pretty cool," he raised his brows and smiled, pleasantly surprised. He continued to examine them, and realized that not all the arrows were poisoned.

"I could use these ones for hunting," he began, referring to the non-poisoned arrows, "And these for anyone who's hostile towards us," he continued, referring to the ones coated with the toxic substance. He grinned, happy he chose this set of arrows - it was as though they were made for him.

"An alliance...", Eric said, before trailing off. He walked off, heading towards the body of the boy he had killed.

Truthfully, he thought an alliance was stupid. It was dumb to grow attached to anybody in the Arena, as they'd all end up killing each other anyway. As his father had put it, an alliance would just give someone a prime opportunity to stab you while you were sleeping, or poison you while you were eating.

"An alliance would be great", Eric yelled back to Serenity as he knelt next to the boy's body. He was dead. The hammer blow must have been powerful enough to kill him. Eric flipped the body over, and eyed the kid's face, which even in death was screwed up in a pained grimace. The poor chap was only about 5'9 and couldn't have been more than 14 years old. He had never really stood a chance.

Eric grabbed the meat cleaver out of the corpse's hand and walked back to Serenity, who was biting into an apple as he approached.

"Be careful with what you eat. 10 years ago the Game Makers had all the food in the supply crates be poisoned. Half the tributes died before any of them even realized."

Eric grabbed an apple from the same crate and took a bite without ever glancing at the fruit. Smiled at her expression.

"The games were terribly boring that year. They won't be poisoning the food ever again if they want the ratings to keep rising."

"Should we make camp here? Or just bring the best supplies with us and venture into the forest?"

"What do you mean 'more manpower in Taylor's stead'?" she pouted playfully at Elliot and began to chuckle. She watched the two look through their stuff and looked over them intently. "While you two have 'manpower' apparently, I can help out with things like food and healing. I'm pretty good with plants, my mother practically raised me on the study of things like that." she nodded to the two, happy to be of some help. "Like this crowberry." she added, plucking a small, plump berry and popping it in her mouth. "Totally harmless." she shrugged.

Serenity couldn't hide the happiness she felt whenever Eric agreed. Somehow, she felt like she'd be safer now. Sure, she could pack a punch for her size - being that, though she was sixteen, she was barely 4'11'', but it would still be handy to possess more manpower. "Thanks!" she said, more openly now as she felt herself warming up to this guy. She knew that making alliances were risky, but for some reason.. She felt as though this guy wouldn't kill her in her sleep. And she wasn't the sly type to do something like that, either. She felt like she could trust him, at least for now.

Just as she was about to take another bite out of the apple, he spoke of what the game makers did years ago, and she stopped in her tracks. "W-What?!" she exclaimed, shocked, and dropped the apple to the ground. Just then, he said that they wouldn't do it again. She pouted and crossed her arms in front of her chest. "You just made me waste a good apple, you jerk," she teased him playfully, smiling her angelic and enchanting smile - but it was only there for a second before fading back into a straight line.

"I don't think it'd be wise to make a camp here. We need to go somewhere closer to a water source - I don't see any water bottles or anything in these crates," she observed, and just as she was about to open the crate Tracy was in, she turned her attention to her survival pack instead. "But, we have water filters in here," she stated, shrugging nonchalantly. "Let's just get all the good supplies we can and camp, yeah?" she agreed with one of his later suggestions.

The skies were beginning to darken, and the sun was now set enough for it to be safe for Serenity to remove her hood. So, she did so, her long past hip-length hair cascading around her like a white waterfall. It shimmered in the evening light, and her eyes reflected the colors in the sky. She began picking up some packs - obtaining a tent and many other useful objects out of them, and then began rummaging through the crates, stuffing her favorite foods into her packs.

Orion looked at Taylor and smirked."Duh most girls in the games were healers that kept it more interesting if the guys were all offed."He said and put his pack down."Look we should set up some traps..my scores were top notch with that so leave em to me,noone would dare come into a few yards of us."He turned and looking up really quick took off toward a tree.He crashed into it,his strength nearly uprooting it and falling back a little ran forward once more and watched at it fell.He took out his spear began cutting it into strategic sections for protection if gotten into a fight. He used the other parts to create needles which would shoot from the ground. He used the last of the wood to make a few dozen pits which were filled with spikes. He looked around and smirked,"Easy."He chuckled.

Taylor stuck her tongue out at him childishly. "Whatever Mr. Know-it-all." she taunted. "I guess that's a good idea, now how are we going to sleep...? I was going to stay in a tree." she replied, thinking about possible places for them all to sleep. A small cave is too risky since it is also a place to be cornered in...

Elliot smiled, liking the reaction he got out of Taylor after teasing her. "Don't worry, don't worry. I'll protect you," he said, giving her head a soft ruffle as he listened to her explain her skill sets. "Well, that's amazing," he complimented. He began to add up their various skills in their head, concluding that they had a very fair chance at surviving for a while - at least until they had to split up. Who knows, maybe they would be the last three? He smiled, and though he knew it would come down to kill or be killed in the long run... For now, he was enjoying this nice atmosphere. He followed Taylor to the bush where she got the crowberry, picking one for himself. He popped it in his mouth, loving the burst of sweet flavor. "Delicious," he beamed, and turned his amethyst gaze back towards Taylor. "Then you shall be the healer, cook, and master of camouflage. I'll be in your care for now," he stated, his purple eyes seeming to shimmer in the evening light.

Elliot grinned at Orion's creation. "Impressive," he spoke, somewhat sarcastically, but he was still legitimately happy with his skill set, as well. He got the impression that Orion was quite the boaster, but at the same time, he didn't blame him. In these games, there was no need for politeness or modesty. Things like that cause you to get looked down upon by stronger players rather than having weaker players look up to you. Elliot found himself looking up to Orion, and as he realized he was doing so, he became determined not to fall behind. While they knew how to do all this, he had his fair share of information, as well. He could hunt and give them nice meat for hearty meals, which was one of his props. The rest he decided to reveal later. He just hoped these guys wouldn't take advantage of his biggest weakness - his soft heart.

Elliot grew perplexed, wondering where they would stay. Orion acquired, so they could sleep in that. "Perhaps we could share the tent?" he suggested, "Someone, one of us, would stay awake and keep watch. And after a while we'd switch shifts, allowing the person watching beforehand to rest." Elliot wasn't all that sure it'd be wise for someone as large as Orion to sleep in a tree - if he fell, he'd probably die. So he figured remaining on ground would be best for them as a whole.

"I'm not going to sleep,i've seen way to many games when people were jumped in their sleep,nu uh ill take first watch."He said and cutting branches from a few trees through them toward and taking an arrow out slammed it into the wood. The electricity sparked the fire and refilling the arrow head put it in his quiver and sat down, taking his bow out and layed a arrow next to it.

Happy that Elliot praised her, she smiled to him thankfully. "Thank you. About the tent thing, that's a good idea! What do you think Orion?" she asked looking to him for his answer. It was beginning to get dark, making her very nervous so she was anxious to get somewhere safer than being out in the open in the night. She already began to feel close to the two which would make it harder once the games progressed, knowing that they would have to separate and die off. She hoped that one of the boys won knowing that she would most likely not make it to the end, but she could try to enjoy it while she could. "Okay, who's second watch then?" She asked after hearing Orion's reply.

Elliot smiled towards Taylor - he knew he should allow the lady to get her beauty sleep. "I'll take the second watch," he offered, his beam charming as usual. He then turned to Orion and shook his head. "If you've seen so many games, you should know that making a fire is one of the biggest mistakes you can make!" he scolded him. "It gives away our position," his expression reflected his displeasure, and his eyes seemed to order him to put it out. "I know it's going to get cold, but we need to find a different way to keep warm. There's a full moon out-" he observed, looking up towards the darkening sky, "And that should provide enough light." He then turned back to Taylor, who seemed to be growing nervous as it grew dark. "Are you alright?" he asked, his mauve eyes reflecting his concern. He began looking around, realizing that where they were was quite open. He looked towards the depths of the forest. "Perhaps we should set camp deeper in the brush?"

Eric nodded in agreement with Serenity. Water, of course they would need freshwater. He couldn't believe he hadn't thought of it himself.

There was a large backpack near him, so he grabbed it and looked through it's contents: nothing especially vital inside. He emptied it, and told Serenity to put whatever they were going to bring inside of it, for easy transport. From there he went around and gathered things he thought would come in handy. The most valuable of his findings were a weapon holster, which allowed him to keep both his hammer and his scavenged cleaver on his body at all times, and a medical kit, which upon further inspection contained gauze, and anti-toxins. Surviving the bloodbath at the cornucopia certainly had its advantages.

Once all the essentials were loaded up into the bag, Eric slung the pack over his shoulder.

"I'll carry our stuff. You keep an eye out for any other tributes once we start moving. Having all of this stuff makes us a target."

Taylor shifted nervously and put on a smile. "Y-yeah sure! Good idea!" she agreed. "I can help you put up the tent if you want?" she offered. She looked up at the sky and saw the moon as well. It was beautiful but eerie at the same time, sending a small shiver through her in the cold of night. She smirked at Orion's mistake as Ellitot scolded him and got out the tent. "Here we go, and it comes with instructions too!" she exclaimed.

Serenity began gathering all the things she felt they would need, all the nutritious and fulfilling foods, all the medical supplies, and any other efficient and helpful things they could carry around with them. She did as he told her to do, putting the things she could into the bag he provided, and then handed him the supplies, allowing him to carry it upon his large and broad shoulders. "Alright, here you go," she spoke as she handed the things to him. She kept her survival pack and her bag of throwing knives with her though, and she thankfully found some holsters of her own. Ones she could fit around her thighs and waist - perfect for holding her thin, yet deadly blades. "Let's get going," she spoke after readying herself, showing him a soft smile as she walked next to him. She kept her pale eyes pierced as they entered the brush, keeping her watchful stare focused all around them. She had fair hearing, though her sight was sometimes challenged. Albinism effects more than just the color of the eyes, but also how they function. Sometimes they would randomly quiver and shake, causing her to lose focus. But, thankfully she got surgery to fix that a year or so ago, so they don't tremble anymore. Now, she was hardcore focused - determined to not only protect herself, but her new ally. Somehow, she felt herself growing attached to him. And it wasn't simply because he was useful and strong, but because he seemed to have an inspiring air about him. A type of air that made her feel like she could - and would - make it out of this alive.

Orion smirked and standing put out the fire.He walked to the pits he had dug and checked them out."Hey Taylor maybe you should climb up to the top of a tree, see if you can find any fires so that we can get these bastards plucked off alot more quicker."He said and turning walked over to where Taylor and Elliot were.

OOC;;

Alright guys! I'm turning in for the night x) Thanks for an awesome RP experience! I'll be back tomorrow~ ♥ Don't have too much fun without me ;D Haha!

((OOC: Okay, Guess I will too! Night guys!))

"Yeah sure!" she agreed as she began to climb up a tree near by. She glanced around, being careful to keep still and not look down. She couldn't see any fires or smoke yet so she retired back down to the ground where the two were. "Not yet. I'm sure there might be some later on since the others may think that everyone else are asleep and might make a fire then." she shook her head.

(One last post for me)

------------------------------------

She smiled at him before they had started walking. It was a smile that would light up a room, her eyes beaming up at him with a quiet intensity. A beautiful smile, really. It made him feel light and fluttery, as if each glance she cast his way made him forget about the expectations people had for him because of his father's past performance. He truly wished she'd stop smiling at him. He'd eventually have to kill her if he planned to win this game. Didn't see realize that? Eric vowed to steel himself, and not show his true emotions to this alluring girl, whether she was an ally or not.

Eric quickly decided the forest sucked. It was damp, and boggy in certain places, and the overall terrain was very difficult to travel through with the backpack. As darkness fully engulfed them, the two realized that continuing to move forward without really seeing where they were going was incredibly pointless, so they found a suitable spot for one of the tents they had brought with them and camped for the night, agreeing to look for freshwater in the morning.

Selene Calloway had easily got ahead of the rest of the group during the bloodbath and snatched up a backpack with what she assumed would be everything she needed to survive for a few days. The redhaired girl had bolted into the forest and out of sight before anyone could notice that she was even in the games. She was much unlike any other female from District One. She was more... human and normal. She had problems just like the next person. She actually had grown up like most of the districts. Her family had died. She lived on the streets and did small bits of side work to pay for food and battle training.

She paused, about to take the smallest of steps but glanced to the side and spotted another tribute far off, but close enough. Her heart almost skipped a beat and she couldn't manage to inhale and exhale. She choked a little before shrugging the pack furthur onto her shoulder and zipping off in a different direction than the boy. She sprinted as quick and as silent as her feet would go; weaving idly through the forest area with agile speed. The girl swiftly jumped fallen logs, side-stepped around thick gnarled trunks and moved away from any dangerous pits or banks. Selene soon emerged into a very small clearing. Only enough for two people to lay down. Her long red braid hung over her right shoulder as she set the back down and sat beside it.

"Let us see what the Games have blessed us with..." she murmured and fumbled her fingers over the zipper, pulling the bag open and peering inside, atwitter with what could be in it.

Miss Calloway begun to pull out the occupants in the bag, placing them neatly beside each other. A bottle. A small pot. A hunting knife. Rope. Small blanket. Some type of packets of food that had a greenish-orange tint. Matchsticks. A rather tiny hatchet and a rather long dagger. Nice. Weapons. She almost purred in satisfaction but quickly bundled everything up and slipped it back into the back. She figured the dagger would be of no use in her backpack and placed it gently on a makeshift shealth at her waist. The girl glanced around, pursed her lips, clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth and took off into the forest once again, ambling slowly so that she could focus on the world around her. She needed to find a source of water or she would die. This was her first goal. Food would come next and then shelter if the weather was to get bad.
