Hisashi exited the cave after the others.


"Boss win... Heh, haven't caught many of those in film. It'll make a great video once I get out of here..." He thought out loud.


Looking at the smaller boy, the one who finished the boss, he chuckled.


"So you set all that up to take the glory, AND LOOT all for yourself, Huh? Heheh, not bad."


Clutching his chest he groaned. "'F this were the real world, I would've broken every rib. I gotta go get patched up. It was fun fighting with you all. WarHound66 signing OUT!" He said, holding a peace sign above his mouth.

Kino pouted when the sword was transferred from his hand to Maoni's. "Jep you bully! Why do you have to be so mean to me and take the sword and give it to that witch. "Please! Dont go with my sword.... No!!!!"


Kino grabbed Jep's sleeve and began crying complaining about the sword. "You're so mean..." Kino said.


When Jepitha talked about the feast Kino smiled. "I'm game, but you are paying." He said. And then he came up with an idea. "Hey... Blade Witch, if I beat you in a duel, on this mountain, then you have to give me the rapier and go to dinner with us." He said with a chidish grin.

Maoni stopped in her tracks and she looked over her shoulder Blade witch? I think I prefer that title now. she thought to herself before speaking "Are you sure you wish to duel on this cold snowy mountain?" she asked, turning her whole body towards him "If anything, lets be sure not to kill eachother, okay? I dont prefer to die in a video game." she went into her inventory and pulled out one of her best weapons. It was a black and red sword, having a villianus feel when others would look at it.

Kino held his hand up to stop her. "Well... Something along of people don't know... Is that I'm one of the few people in Aincrad who posses the martial arts sword skill... And... My martial arts skill is higher than my One handed rrapier skill, so lets go." He charged at Maoni using his sprint skill, and flipped over her, but when he did, he off shot it, and ended up flying head first into a rock on the mountain. His vision grew hazy, but he stood up.


"I didn't mean to do that." He said gaining his composure. "Now... Time for the real thing..." There was a cracking sound from behind I'm. He turned and saw the rock he had run into had a crack in it. He watched as it grew and grew, running along the ground beneath them. "Uh oh." He said.


Suddenly the ground beneath the group gave way, causing an avalanch. "Ahhh!!!" The four rolled down the mountain all the way to the bottom where they landed in the center of the village at the bottom of the mountain. "That hurt." Kino said, standing up and brushing snow off.


"You guys okay?" He asked.

Hisashi poked his head out of the snow, coughing up chunks of ice and water.


"I-hic- take it back. -Hic-" he croaked, "if this were real life, I'd be long dead!" He complained loudly.


He stood up and shook his body rapidly side to side, like a dog after its been raining.


"Too bad my nerve-cam (trademark pending) is wired to the nerve-gear itself," He remarked, tapping his forehead. "No way to stop recording without logging out. Now my plummet from the mountain is recorded for all of time!"

Once that happened, Jepitha was no where to be found. Until a few moments later when an arm stuck out of the snow and grabbed Kinos leg. A few short seconds later, Jepitha roses from the snow. He looked at Kino with a death stare, which it showed no emotion at all. "I'm... Going... To be the end of you." He said through his teeth before he grabbed by his shirt colar. "What were you think?! No! I don't even think you'd thought that through at all!" He yelled angrily.

Maoni of course went down with the mountain and everyone else. Once the Avalanche finished, she was buried under the snow. She was almost about to faint under the snow before shooting up out of the snow, her eyes widen as she gasped for air, her heart beating rapidly and causing her to look around as she panted softly before looking at the others who seemed to still be nearby I will not come around this area again..oh my goodness.. She experienced a dramatizing event in the real world and this seemed to trigger her fear

Kino tried to wiggle out of Jeps grasp but he wasn't strong enough. "Now wait Jep. I didn't mean it, it was an accident, let me go!" He yelled whiningly. "I'm sorry Jep! I didn't mean to. I wanna live. Don't kill me! I won't do it again! I promise! Please" Kino continued.

Hisashi chuckled as Jepitha and Kino argued, as he stood still brushing snow off of himself. A small light flashed in front of his eyes alerting him that his Strain ability had been activated, allowing him to hear at a much higher rate than normal.


A quick beating, like a heartbeat, but much faster, sounded in his ears. Glancing around, he determined that the source was none other than the girl, Maoni, wasn't that her name?


He took a few steps closer to her before quietly speaking. "Hey, uh, are you alright? The avalanche is over, everyone's alright. I think?"

Jepitha closed his eyes and he let out a long sigh through his nose before he let go of Kinos shirt. He then started to look over Kinos head, he still didn't have a full idea on how the game works when it comes to injuring oneself. "Well your skull seems to be intact at least." He said softly after a few short moments of examination.

Maoni looked Hisashi and quickly composed herself "I'm fine." she said, uneqipping her sword. "I'm going now. I dont wish to stick around any longer." with that, she started walking away, being careful as she walked through the snow. Her heart still racing. I need to get back.. I want to get back. I dont want to stick around any longer.

Hisashi frowned, noting to himself that her heartbeat made it obvious that she was lying.


Pushing his hair back, he took a few steps forward, after Maoni.


"At least let me walk with you into town. They've got this nice little tavern, decent rooms, good food, and it's warm!" He offered, walking faster to catch up to Maoni, and then slowing down to keep at pace with her.


"Whaddaya say?" He offered with a genuine smile.

Maoni looked over at Hisashi "...Be lucky I'm allowing you to walk with me." she simply said "because I prefer to be alone." looking away, she continued to walk "Though, are you suggesting something when you mention 'Decent rooms'? Because if you are, I'm not really interested." not yet for the meantime...Not that she'd say anything. She hadnt felt any feelings since she was trapped here.

"Yea... I'm fine." Kino said pushing Robins hands away from his head. "Don't worry about me." Kino listened in on the two. "Hey Jep and I need a room, our night at the inn is up, and we also need food. Guess it's a date then." Kino faced Jep and grabbed his hand, trying to pull him along in the way that Hisashi and Maoni were headed. "Please Jep. Come on... Can we go too? We could all have dinner together. Kino said with puppy dog eyes.


"Hey guys... Wait up!" Kino yelled back towards the two.


"Please Jep?"

Hisashi put his hands up in mock-surrender at Maoni's accusation.


He continued to walk at pace with her, putting his hands into his pockets.


"I'm suggesting~" Hisashi said with a smirk, "that you just got back from a difficult boss fight, quickly followed by an avalanche, and could probably use a good nights sleep. Am I wrong?" He said with a laugh to his voice. "Plus every man knows you're supposed to buy a girl dinner before "suggesting something." He said with an evil smirk.


Hearing Kino call out, he turned to look over his shoulder.


"Keep up kiddo, and I'll think about it!" He shouted before turning around to walk backwards.

Jepitha looked down at Kino for a moment before he closed his eyes and sighed softly. Even though Jepitha was usually stone cold, he can never say no to the puppy eye look that Kino makes. He let out a soft sigh as he started walking. "Come on, better hope the tavern didn't give our room to some one else yet." He said to Kino as he followed the two new companions.

"Yay!!!" Kino said jumping onto Jep's back and rustling his hair. "Giddyup." He yelled with a playful giggle. "Hey Maoni! Hisashi! Wait up!" Kino jumped down and sprinted towards them. " Jep said we could go, so dinners on me."

Maoni rolled her eyes and looked away from Hisashi and continued to walk before hearing Kino. This caused her to look over at him "I can pay for my own things, thank you." she then looked away once again and walked ahead, making sure she was kept warm with the protection of her cloak from the cold. Sighing, Maoni looked ahead, not even going to interact with the boys. Honestly, she was not interested in forming friendships simply because she can lose them any second.

Hisashi laughed as Kino sprinted up. " free dinner, who could turn that down?"


He turned to walk next to Kino and held his arm out to slow him down.


He leaned in saying "Psst, kid," before smacking him upside the head and hissing. "You tryin to make me look bad in front of the lady? I'll have you know I was going to pay for her dinner first!" He said before straightening back up and calling out, "Hey man, are you comin' or nah?" To Jepitha, who was a good distance away between all the running.

Jepitha nodded slowly as he started to follow the group. He caught up to the group within a few long strides. He put his hands in his pocket before he closed his eyes as he listened to the groups footsteps. "And to answer your question, I'm coming along. But just to make sure little Kino doesn't hurt himself." He said, looking over at Kino.

Kino rubbed the back of his head and glared at Hisashi. "No offence but I don't think she's interested." Kino said with a giggle. When Kino heard Jep say he came just to make sure he didn't hurt himself, he couldn't help but smile. "People like Jep.... They have tough exteriors, but deep down, they're just as scared and afraid as the rest of us. Jep's one of em... And so is Maoni." Kino thought.


He took the opportunity and jogged ahead towards her, matching her walking pace. At first the two were silent, but them he spoke. "Listen... I know why you're acting like this. You're scared... And afraid." Kino said.


No response.


"I don't blame you. I'm sure we've all been beat down by this game." He said looking down. "We've all lost people."


Still no response.


Kino stopped and grabbed Maoni's hand to make sure she didn't keep walking. "Listen... I'm sure that you're like this because you're afraid of what would happen if you let people I'm, but you shouldn't be. No one can endure this alone. Friends help bear the weight of this game and the losses we take daily." Kino sighed. "I know you're scared and afraid... But let us in." Kino turned back to face in Jep and Hisashi's direction. "It !at not be today... But one day, you'll come around." Kino smiled and turned around, winking at her before running towards Jep and Hisashi.


"SMELL THAT GUYS?!? FOOD!" He yelled.

Maoni Looked at Kino when he took her hand and she stopped walking, listening to his words. He was right, she was scared. Scared of losing others and dealing with the pain. Thats why she closed herself off to everyone and became a Solo player. Even settled down in a house a few floors down. She'd go there every few days to relax and gain her strength back. The only thing was, she was lonely. No one to talk to or joke around with. Slowly, her eyes widen and fill with tears as Kino ran off and she lowered her eyes before walking...again. Pushing down her tears and ignoring the sadness that managed to shove its way through her barrier.


Of course, As Kino pointed out, there was the smell of food and it smelled amazingly good.

Jepitha noticed the girl tearing up a little bit. Kino used his magic on her, he'd noticed that Kino has an ability to make people very emotional, but it was good thing of him. He's seen Kino talking to so many people, he remembers all the people him and Kino talked to so many people. So many stories had been told, most if them very depressing, you can't get much happiness in this land of certain death, it's been breaking Jepitha down a lot on the inside, he refuses to show outer weakness.


He smiled slightly when he heard Kinos excitement for food. "Food sounds pretty good right now." He said softly as he saw the tavern in view now.

"Hey Hisashi... Race ya there!" Kino turned on his heels once he'd made it to Hisashi and sprinted towards the tavern. "We just met these two." Kino thought. "And its as if we've all known each other for a while, and were the best of friends." He giggled. "I love this party."


Once they were all seated at the bar, the bartender asked Kino what he wanted. "I'll taaaaakkkkkeeeee..." Kino !ade sure Jep wasn't listening. "A beer." He said turning back to the guy.


"First time kid?" The bartender asked. "Yep." Kino said excitedly.


"You know this is illegal right?" The guy asked.


"In the reeeeaaall world." Kino replied.


"I dont knoooowww." The guys said.


"Oh I see what you mean? "Kino opened his exchange menu. " I'll give you 1000 Kol to keep your mouth quiet." Kino said.


"Really?!? Sign me up. ONE BEER FOR THE KID." The guy said loudly, causing Kino to facepalm.

Jepitha had his eyes closed as he tried to relax a little. He was the farthest from Kino during his conversation, thinking not much of it, until the bartender yelled out about a beer for the kid. He slowly opened one eye as he rose an eyebrow. "That better not be my kid." He thought to himself as he looked over. He flared his nostrils as he stood up. "Kino." He thought to himself angrily as he walked over to Kino.


When he was over, he grabbed the bottle of beer that was for Kino. He chugged the bottle of beer down within seconds, when he was done, he smashed the bottle against the bartenders head angrily. He glared at Kino. "You're lucky that I'm in a good mood, because you would be the bartender right now." He said through his teeth.
