emi has lived a rather regular life growing up. she saw her older brother's many successes throughout her life, as well as her parents enthusiastic praise towards said success. out of the two siblings, she has always been the more clumsy, more messy, and more dense one. although her brother has always been two steps ahead of her, emi doesn't let that get in the way of her relationship with him. deep down she knows he's always taken care of her and tried to help her along the way, and as such gladly plays the role of lovable (albeit bratty) younger sister. living with her parents, however, has not been easy. as her parents watched kaoru land a job in america and get married while emi remained unemployed and single, their disappointment began to reveal itself. it got to the point where one day, after a messy night out, emi drunkenly asked her parents if she was bothering them by living with them. hearing a blunt "yes, you are. now move out already!" was an unfortunate wake-up call for the young bachelorette.

not long after, she began a frantic search for a job. after many phone calls, interviews, and rejection emails, emi finally landed a modest position at a small marketing agency near nerima city. her parents were a little too happy about her moving away, and even offered to pay for some of her new apartment expenses. she has been living in nerima for a year now, and has come to have a love-hate relationship with the quaint locale.

though her life has definitely seen its fair share of bumps and bruises, she is determined to grow and become a daughter her parents can be proud of.

  Naoaki didn't have a particularly hard life growing up. He did well in school and his mother took good care of him, and although he never knew his father, his grandfather took on more than enough of a fatherly role for him. He coasted through most of his life on natural talent rather than hard work, which led to him becoming a bit lazy and unmotivated. His sister, Kanna, was the complete opposite; hard working, motivated, and goal oriented. As they got older and began moving into the next stages of their lives she began to disdain his lack of drive and they slowly drifted apart, not talking much after she left their hometown of Tanabe to attend college.
  
  After about a year of saving up some money working at his grandfathers restaurant, he decided it was time to head out on his own and figure out what he wants to do. After all, what better way to find out your passion than to get out of your comfort zone? She was born to a happy mixed family in Japan, Harumi had a safe childhood and she's very grateful for it. Harumi's father's Dutch and he moved to Japan to be with her mother, it was a rough start at first, they were financially unstable and they would constantly juggle working and taking care of their two children.
All was well when one day, her father decided to try teaching, a family friend suggested for her father to try teaching English since it's a quite popular job for foreigners, he quickly applied so that he can help his wife. Her father was then accepted as a private English tutor.

Soon, her two siblings were born, their lifestyles all stable now and they happily welcomed the two bundles of joy. Tadashi and Harumi were already at elementary when the two were born, so they helped raised them, hence their hardworking or responsible traits.

Then, her Aunt came in, her mother's side wasn't happy with the man she married after they knew him properly, they wanted a rich husband for her and Harumi's dad wasn't clearly the "the rich foreigner" they expected him to be. Until he flourished and his pay increased. After knowing this Harumi's Aunt started "borrowing" their money, she has a very manipulative character so you can say it was very easy for her. Her father complied since he really wanted to prove himself to Miyoko's (Harumi's mother) family. Thus, the "Trouble in Paradise" began. There were already a lot of foreigners teaching as private tutors so Harumi's father had trouble staying afloat, the constant "borrowing" from her aunt didn't help either. Luckily, Harumi's older brother was already on his last year at university so he was able to help out.

Harumi also graduated three years later, her first thought was to help so she applied as a hairstylist on their local hair salon, the pay isn't that high though. So she decided to put her film degree into good use and started uploading videos. It wasn't long till it blew up and she's so thankful for it, but who knows what's next for her.

  what's your story?: Akira grew up in Brighton where her father was originally from. Her parents met in London after her mother moved there from Hiroshima for college. Her parents got married after Kiaria got pregnant with Akira when she was 20 and they moved back to Brighton. 7 years later her younger sister was born.

History : Perhaps she expected a little too much growing up, but it was what her friends had so she figured it was normal. Yet somehow her house was always empty. Her mother and father met when they were in university at UC Berkeley. Her father was a first generation Jamaican American who had gotten to Cal on an academic scholarship. He was a Microbial Biology and Biomolecular Engineering double major working his hardest to stay afloat and keep his scholarship. Her mother was a Japanese student studying Chemistry, working towards her PhD. They conceived Umi during this time and her birth led to frustrations and arguments.

Despite this, the couple still pushed through with their educations. When he finished his undergrad program he move straight to pursue his PhD in Biomolecular engineering, and all of this was at the expense of Umi. She grew up in a house that seemed to busy to actually parent besides the bare minimum. That and being students didn't pay a lot, they tended to work part time jobs leaving very limited time with their daughter. Though sometimes she did get to spend time with her parents as they walked through their experiments or wrote their reports. They also helped her with her homework when she was in kindergarten, but when they both graduated their parenting was non existent. They both had gotten really rigorous jobs in their fields which required north of 60 hours a week.

Even when her parents were around they felt like they weren't. They never cooked and would order take-out when they remembered to feed their child, leaving Kasumi to have to fix her own meals or go to her grandmother's (where she learned Jamaican cuisine). This always bothered her so she would stay in her room eating chips and writing music. With the help of youtube she learned to play the guitar and compose music, joining her middle school's band where she always learned how to play the flute, clarinet, piano, and saxophone. She often spent her free time lying in fields of flowers, surfing, skating or sometimes even luging.

In middle school, things seemed to have changed. She figured with their promotions and more money she'd have her parents around more, but this ended up being false and only got worse. She ended up basically raising her younger sisters. It was when she had do a project on her heritage that things got worse. She never noticed it before until she reached out for her project, but her Japanese family never fully accepted her. Nothing she did pleased them. She could speak Japanese fluidly, she could cook many of their dishes, observe many of the customs, but it wasn't enough. She was always seen as other. Her Jamaican family was no better when her granny passed, and she felt like she didn't belong anywhere. She had parents who were never around and family that didn't accept her. Her only escape seemed to be music.

When her mother retired from her job she became a much better parent, but she was finally on the other side of the lack of attention. Their father had become a high ranking employee for a Pharmaceutical company, and he was rarely around causing strain on their marriage. She decided to return home to have a stronger financial support system, moving back to Sapporo, Hokkaido with her children. That's where Umi spent her final years of grade school, before heading to Josai for her freshman year of University. When she wasn't pleased with her trajectory she transferred to Tokyo University for the Arts, picked up a Barista job (mainly because she could play music on open mic nights at this one) and grabbed a place in Emira.

When Yua was welcomed into the world, there was a lot of stigma surrounding her and it made things stressful at home. Now, it wasn't her family that was causing the stress, rather it was neighbors, friends, coworkers, and just outsiders in general. Why? This is because Yui, her mother, had been widowed after have a ten-year-long marriage but remarried a few years later to an American man that was in Tokyo for business. It wasn't exactly an ideal situation or story for anyone. It was difficult for the family of four to go out together without being met with harsh stares and crude remarks, mostly because the family had a reputation and had some money, which subjected them to gossip.

But Yua couldn't complain, her life was pretty much a cakewalk. Right from the beginning, she was adored by everyone in the family, even her stubborn Grandfather found himself particularly attached to the girl. It was obvious that she didn't possess the raw talents that her older brother did, but she did inherit her mother's good looks which were always complimented. Life was easy and good for the girl. She had a lot of friends at school and her appearance really didn't indicate that she was biracial. At least not until she hit middle school. That's when everything changed.

The family had moved to the heart of Tokyo due to Alexander's job and it caused Yua to transfer schools. She was okay with this, but the summer that they moved was the summer that the family discovered how Yua had been growing considerably darker and was tanning far more easily than before. This was most likely because they simply weren't paying attention to her skin's color as she was incredibly fair colored as a child. This wasn't a big deal for the family, in fact, many of her cousins and aunts expressed envy over her tanned complexion. But her classmates were less than accepting. She often was teased for being biracial and many slurs were thrown her way out of sheer ignorance and arrogance.

Retreating into her shell, she found it difficult to socialize with her peers and often found it easier to just hang her head and pretend to not hear anything. Her popularity fell through as people discovered that she wasn't athletic or that smart. So she stuck to herself, eventually making a few friends that were genuinely concerned and interested in her. High school was more or less the same, but her home life shifted when her father decided to move back to the American branch of the company, leaving his wife and children behind to fend for themselves. This deeply hurt Yua and she found herself shunning her father as time passed.

Upon graduating, she decided she wanted to pursue fashion as a career and ended up getting accepted into a fine arts college outside of the middle of the city, which gave her an excuse to move to a more residential neighborhood. In order to make pocket money, she worked really hard to become an Instagram model in her final year of high school and managed to land a few brand deals with companies around the area that would help make life a little easier. Now a freshman in college, she's more than ready to attempt becoming an actual model and get her degree.

However, the few friends that she has would defend otherwise. For, despite not acting like it, Mei's quite aware of what is important life, and what she holds dear to herself. She simply just doesn't feel the need to express it, to overly showcase such vulnerability in front of leeches. ​

Twin brother, Tao age 23. The infamous twins have the best relationship out of the entirety of their familial ties. For
despite being complete opposites, Tao & Mei are often the only ones who actually understand and willfully confide in one another. Finding friendship despite their differences in personality & views.

Father, Feng Haoran, age 55. Probably her least favorite person in the entire world, it's safe to say that Mei hates her father. After all, he was the one that had sent her off to boarding school during her more troubled adolescent years. And he almost always seems to find a way to put Tao down (of which, she is very protective over). Moreover, due to his lack of care for others and low morale, Mei has long since deemed him a horrid person.

Mother, Feng Zexian, 52. Mei acts indifferently toward her mother. For, the two were never really close, like, ever. Although she guesses that living a life underneath the public eye and in a mansion no less is not the norm, so, why expect a normal mother/daughter relationship in the first place? Estranged would be a word that perfectly describes their relationship.

_O T H E R_

Feng Li, Grandfather, would've been 76. Stemming from her mother's side of the family, Mei's grandfather is the only other man she likes in her family- very much setting him apart from all of the cringey cousins and uncles. Why, the old man had stolen her heart from when she was but a little girl, acting as her teacher, her parent for much of her childhood. And it was no secret that he doted on her more than the other kids, with their numerous inside jokes, large & lengthy embraces and intense attachments with one another, it's safe to say that his death had hit her extremely hard. Such that she's still reeling from it after years without his endearing presence have gone by.

_M E I ' S_ S T O R Y_

Having been the black sheep since day one, Mei isn't much of a family oriented person. For, she finds that relationships can spiral deeper than blood, despite not having any. Whatever the case, Mei had what you would call the "perfect" childhood. With fast passes to amusement parks to obscure extra curriculars (who still fences?) and disgustingly healthy food, yes Mei had a desirable childhood, but, she never actually got to be a child. In fact, one of her earliest memories stems from when she was about five, she'd been playing with a bouncy ball inside of the house (despite having been ordered otherwise) and by chance, had accidentally broken a vase. One made of crystals. To be frank her parents were absolutely furious with her, and had somehow managed to loop in her brother (who in their eyes, was so much responsible despite being only minutes older) for not paying close attention to her. However, being the little rebel she was- and still is, little Mei went out and did the same thing the next day, only with a window this time. For, she realized that whether her actions were intentional or not, her parents would always treat her the same. Like a burden.

Flash forward many years, Mei's thirst for trouble had only increased, always rolling her eyes whenever her father mentioned the word "dishonor" in one of his lengthy lectures. For, she'd simply been through it all. The woman had spent a night (several actually) in jail, had gone worlds away to an absolutely unbearable boarding school, not to mention the several bad influences she's met in her time... At this point, her parent's disappointment has become nothing to her. However, since she‘s only growing older, Haoran, Mei's father had decided that the young woman was in need of some responsibility in her life. She was far too spoilt. And what better way than to send the twins on a business venture to Japan? The company was looking to expand their horizons anyway and since the two would be taking over when he passed onto his next life... Well, consider this a crash course.


_A S P I R A T I O N S_

For the past twenty-two years of her life, Mei has lived without actually having something to live for. Careless, reckless & downright dangerous, her will to return home and return home alive is quickly fleeting. For she finds that she has nothing special awaiting her presence, no one to really share her world with. And though it may seem quite the opposite to her less fortunate counterparts, Mei often fills her passionless days with adrenaline-fueled actions just to keep herself from spiraling into a lonesome, self destructive mess.

A once lustrous black, Tao had begrudgingly dyed his hair a lightly tinged brunette for the sake of his sister Mei, who, and I quote "didn't want to go bald alone." However, much to his surprise, the man ended up actually quite liking the results of his questionably modified mane. And since then, has tried his best to maintain it as such despite his demanding schedule. And although majorly unkempt, his endearing bedhead often acts as the sole indicator toward his budding youth, especially since he works in a field filled to the brim with geriatric men & women.

Currently acting as the unofficial COO to Mr. Feng, the devil himself and owner of Feng studios ™, a large production company headquartered in Shanghai, China. Although technically most of what Tao does is only secretarial work, with the large sums of contract handling and coffee hand-outs. It's as humiliating as it sounds.

Tao is a pretty plain guy, from his style to the way he parts his hair: everything is done in a very particular manner. Similar to that of a routine, for he’s never been quite fond of change. And so, it takes a lot for him to take risks- both superficial and well, not so superficial.

A man of great ambition, Tao is the type who, once he sets his eyes on something, relentlessly chases after it until he has that very thing laying within the palms of his hands. And so, what better way to enhance that self destructive trait than a competitive work environment and a degrading father? ...Needless to say, Tao is a workaholic. Always has been, and if he continues on like this, will probably still be years into the future. For, given his intense desperation for his father’s approval- coupled with the innate desire to make history within the industry, the brunette often buries himself with an ungodly amount of work. Such that, he’s forgotten how to interact with people his own age, y’know, without the formalities and ancient stiffness. Not to mention his absolutely atrocious luck with the fairer sex (of which, Mei has unkindly pointed out). Tao’s simply too- too awkward. As if he’s uncomfortable even in his own skin, as if all he knows is the office and the office alone.

Twin sister, Mei, age 22. Possibly his best friend and probably his only friend, Mei, although quite rough around the edges, is an absolute blast to be around. For, the young woman is a breath of fresh air considering that Tao spends his days mostly cooped up within the walls of the office or his study. And so, often interrupting without a care, the mischievous twin somehow manages to keep him young by throwing crackers at him during conference calls and saying the word “benis” over and over again. Y’know, like the typical annoying younger sister. However, he often worries for her wellbeing, considering that she couldn’t care less about her own. Therefore, as much as he loathes himself for it, Tao often holds his sister on a short leash during times of caution, which often causes a string of tension and fights to occur.

~ P a r e n t s ~

Father, Feng Haoran, Age 55. Ah, where to begin? Well, for starters Mr. Feng isn’t exactly the gentlest of souls, in fact he’s anything but. Curt and arrogant, it appears that the man’s wealth and status have become much more of a priority than his actual family. Or at least it seems that way. For, Tao often suspects that he’s being used as just another pawn toward success, with his young age and equally sharp mind. Not to forget that Mr. Feng has always held him up to quite unachievable standards (having given up on Mei all those years ago). And should he fall even a few steps short, well, let’s just say that Tao isn’t exactly a stranger to verbal blows and a lack of respect. Still, he hopes that one day, he will be able to win over the old man. And that is exactly what he intends to do with this new opportunity.

Mother, Feng Zexian, 52. An unabashed mama’s boy, Tao is very grateful to have at least one parent on his side. Having always idolized his mum, their endearing bond has stayed very much unchanged ever since childhood. For the two are actually quite similar, carrying the same awkward disposition and work oriented nature, the mother & son duo often find solace within one another’s company whenever the Feng household is nearly set ablaze by the other two family members. And so, appreciative of one another’s comparatively tranquil auras, the peace seeking pair is what often keeps the family from falling apart.

~ O t h e r ~

And if you didn’t think his life could get any sadder, well, you’re absolutely wrong. For, Tao has a very temperamental cat that goes by the name of Mushu. Short haired & considerably wider than most, Mushu is damn near character of his own. For starters, he barely even likes Tao (granted the delicious food & belly rubs) not to mention that he's a bit of a troublemaker himself, and intentionally so. Why, with his impressive vase-breaking nails and sharp claws... Let’s just say that many aren’t a fan. But at the very least, Tao is.

Tao was never one for labels, especially ones that distinguished him from the rest. In fact, he would very much prefer to rank the Fengs as economically “comfortable” ... But then again, isn’t that what every Incredibly wealthy yet humble person says? He just can’t seem to win.

A good boy since day one, life was never particularly difficult for Tao. Privileged, the young boy was always well behaved and obedient- a rather stark difference from his daring twin sister, Mei. And as such, he was often the more favored child, a child that could never do harm in hopes of maintaining just that image. The image of a good boy. In fact, the brunet subtly holds a fair bit of resentment toward his parents, for having placed him into some sort of mold, a mold to make the "perfect child." For, he was always held to high standards, but not just that, why they practically controlled him. Never once asking about what he thought about this school or that extra curricular. It was almost as if he were a supporting character in his very own life. And yet, not wanting to disrupt his parent's hard work, Tao had remained and STILL remains silent. Allowing them to utilize him as a puppet for whatever achievement they would be striving for next. Contrarily Mei, who despite not caring what her parents think of her, cannot help but point out the drastic difference in treatment between the two of them. She was the hopeless lowlife while he, well he was the golden boy. This often made him feel extremely guilty, especially since he knew that Mei was much more than that, much more than what his parents had designated her- hell, BOTH of them as.

However, when his father had announced his new mission to expand within the rest of Asia, Tao was thrilled. For, he always found that the organization was not quite reaching it's full potential by scouting solely Chinese-based talent or even Chinese employees. There were so many people out there who he was sure, would make history under the right company, a company just like theirs. The heir's excitement had only doubled once he found out that he and Mei would be leading the expansion in Japan. Nerima city, Tokyo to be exact. They would be in charge of establishing the company there, which meant organizing a location, hiring credible employees and the best part: scouting new talent. Which he reckoned, would be rather simple since Nerima was quite renowned for it's breath taking artistry. From actors & singers to visual artists, Nerima had it all. In fact, Tao finds that this new opportunity may as well be fate playing on their side. For, should he (and Mei) succeed, they would not only bring the company honor, but, prove to their parents that they are not just who they tell them they are. They are much more.

Born to Yui and Haruto, he was spoiled and loved like no other. His parents had been married around two years before they had him and they were over the moon. Haruto was a successful owner of a law firm and it gave the family the financial support they needed and they were happy. They would do everything as a family, go to the movies, picnics, amusement parks, you name it. They also encouraged Junpei to try out anything his heart desired, noticing early on that he was a very creative person. He excelled in both sports but also music so he began to take piano classes on the days he didn't have baseball. It was a busy schedule for the young boy but he wouldn't have it any other way.

He was only 7 years old when his father died in a car accident. It was sudden and traumatizing for the young boy and he had no idea how to process it. His mother was left alone to fend for herself and her young child as she had no family to depend on, her own father barely able to support himself. She was lost and confused but managed to hang on until she met Alexander. The whole relationship was rushed the marriage was rather shocking and unwanted by her son, but he couldn't tell her that. He couldn't bring himself to tell her that he didn't want her moving on. Of course, he was a bit right as it was a spur of the moment decision of Yui's, as she knew she couldn't provide for her son without a husband.

It was a lot for him to take in, but the whole situation seemed to take a positive turn. This was because Yua was born. Junpei found himself practically attached to his baby sister, always asking his mom to help hold her, feed her, and read stories to her. He never found himself interested in his step-father, but his half-sister basically became his world. As they grew older, he began to bully her a bit, mostly out of misdirected affection. However, this habit soon transferred over into his love life and he was known as a bit of a dark prince due to this. It only helped his popularity though, so he didn't complain.

In high school, he ended up forming a band with a few friends from his basketball team and they discovered they were pretty good. It was difficult for them to get started as high school students so they went on a short hiatus in college until they all had reliable forms of income that would allow them to play without too much stress. It was mostly playing in bars and busking, but their popularity did grow and they had small concerts if you will. They aren't under any management so they aren't as popular as many bands but it's enough for them.

Junpei also discovered that he was a very good tutor and ended up becoming a professional home tutor for college students, high school students, and even middle school students. The pay is really good and he is highly requested due to his good looks and charming personality. He may use it as an excuse to hang around pretty girls (of legal age of course), but that's all. He doesn't really believe in dating a student after all. But as he started reaching his mid 20s he began to view his partners as potential marriage material and is taking dating quite seriously.

Until of course Izumi brought up college, and Hisashi offhandedly mentioned that the university near Nerima was an amazing school, with a quiet suburb nearby which offered work. This excited his young daughter who worked hard, and even saved up to afford to submit her application, and travel to the downtown area to take the entrance exam. As luck would have it she got in. Though her parents objected at first they eventually relented, knowing how Nerima was a safe place, and she wouldn’t get into too much trouble. Besides. What are the odds she runs into a long lost family member?

what’s your story: Ohm was raised by his mother Mild in Bangkok. She inherited a small fortune when her grandparents (his great grandparents) died and used her wealth to support Ohm. He was an unplanned pregnancy with a man she didn't love but she didn't have the power to abort Ohm. She always wanted a child but knew she wasn't ready yet. She decided to give him up for adoption once he was born but couldn't go through with it once he stared into the eyes of that tiny baby in her arms. Her parents, his grandparents weren't particularly happy but knew that a mother's love was strong and so they supported her decision to keep him in her life. Ohm grew up loving animals more than anything in the world from the tiniest bugs to the largest elephant. Animals were always his thing. It was fairly evident early on he wanted to work with animals in the future to some capacity. On his 13th birthday he wanted a puppy. An actual dog of his own so his mother surprised him with a tiny corgi puppy. Little Ohm was bad with names and so the corgi was named San (short in thai).

He lived a happy life until he was 14 when his mother married a Japanese Buisnessman. Yamato Ryogi was a man with a shady background but his mother didn't seem to know about it. She was happy and was happy to have another son in her life. Raidon was a piece of work but they shared the same sentiment about their parents. As long as everyone is happy and no one gets hurt that's all that matters for now. They didn't have much in common. Raidon's personality was a bit different to Ohm's and the Japanese teen was allergic to lots of different animals. Luckily not dogs. If Ohm was forced to choose between his stepbrother and San he'd pick San in a heartbeat. Anyway, Ohm and his mother moved to Japan. There wasn't much keeping his mother in Thailand. She wasn't well liked in the neighborhood she lived in (back in the day they judged her for having ohm without a father around and now they judged her for marrying a Japanese man) and her parents died when Ohm was 6. Her logic was the internet existed and so if Ohm wanted to keep in contact with old friends he could do so easily. There were always new friends. He was pretty good at English and his mother was fluent like her husband but it didn't hurt to learn a new language and his mother said there would be more opportunities in Japan compared to Thailand. Ohm wasn't sure but he didn't have a choice. He had no more family in Thailand to stay with so it was off to Japan for Ohm Kittibun Sopha.

Ohm was seventeen when he first decided he wanted to become a vet. This happened after Sam injured his left back leg playing and Ohm panicked and took him to the only vetinary practice he knew in the area. He was so upset and when the vet told him that there was nothing to worry about he was so relieved. Seeing someone be so good with animals especially injured ones sparked something in Ohm. He'd become the best Thai vet Japan had ever seen. Now he is studying Animal Medicine at college and wants to do his part in the care of animals.

background — she was a rather unconventional baby at the time. aoi and kaito were a relatively new couple, not really interested in having children when she fell pregnant with himari. the news was shocking and terrifying as they knew they had to get married, whether they liked it or not. at first, it was difficult and stressful for them. the pressure from their parents was unmatched and they had no idea what they were doing. aoi dropped out of school in order to take care of her daughter full time and kaito slaved away in the office to make money for them. the marriage was tense and people were unsure if they would actually stay together. but when himari turned five years old, things began to mellow out. kaito was promoted to head of the marketing department which meant his hours were better and he could afford more for his wife and daughter.

the family dynamic finally began to form, even though it was a little late. himari didn't seem to mind though, as she was a very easy-going child. parenting her was easy as she never fussed about anything and would listen but the issue was how clumsy she was. the little girl seemed to gravitate towards danger on a daily basis and often was found face down in the dirt, whining about losing some bug she was chasing. she wasn't exactly the type of daughter aoi was expecting but as her mother, she defended her child from all the gossip from the other mothers in the neighborhood.

kaito on the other hand, got along quite well with his daughter. he found that it was like having a son and they would often do things like camping and fishing since she enjoyed the outdoors so much. but as she grew older, aoi became a bit more strict and forced her daughter to behave like a proper young lady rather than the tomboy she really was. himari was forced to grow out her hair, wear skirts, paint her nails, and watch her language. it was frustrating for the girl but she grew used to putting on an act at school. nothing that interesting happened during her middle school years but high school was a different story.

she signed herself up for the drama club and found she was very passionate about playing characters and was quite good at it. she was able to manipulate her voice in ways that were similar to voice actors on popular shows which made her a very versatile student in the plays. the girl was also very smart, eventually testing out of her second year and graduating early, much to the disbelief of her parents who assumed she never studied. after graduation, she decided to pursue voice acting as it seemed to be a fun career choice.

college was boring for the girl, but it gave her a chance to build a portfolio and experience with different characters. to help her develop unique voices and personalities for possible characters, she started a youtube channel where she would tackle popular anime ost's or jpop songs since she didn't think it was that different from voice acting. she found out that she was decent in singing which was a plus for her portfolio. by the time she graduated, she found herself landing the role of a few supporting/minor characters in animes and also an unlockable character in a new rpg game. while it didn't impress her mother that much (she wanted her to find a husband instead), himari felt very accomplished and even found herself moving out on her own to nerima.

Mayumi Takagi and Dave Summers fell in love on a pigeon-coated park bench in Central Park back in the summer of ’95. Two years after a whirlwind romance, elopement, and an application for US citizenship, Hana was born. Growing up in New York, Hana’s mom made sure all of her children embraced their Japanese heritage (even Jason) and planned frequent trips to Japan to visit their grandmother, Maeko. Hana loved these trips and would always cherish her time there.

As Hana grew up, she always loved reading and drawing, even going so far as to start a webcomic in high school. But after graduating with a BA in English, she was lost. She had no idea what to do with her life. To buy herself a little time, she decided to become certified to teach English abroad and accepted a position as an ESL teacher in Nerima City. Hana’s grandmother also lives near downtown and runs a small ramen shop, so even though Hana still feels a little lost in Tokyo, she always has a place to go when she’s feeling down.

Will Hana find her purpose in Nerima City before her VISA runs out? Or will she return to the United States just as confused as ever? Who knows; she might even meet someone special to help her forget all of her troubles.

• Byeonhwa describes himself as an 'average' person. He doesn't see himself as too interesting, holding morals, virtues, and vices as everyone else does. However, he is particularly antisocial. Despite the attention his career brings him, he rarely ever indulges himself in social situations (at least, voluntarily.) If forced into a situation requiring socializing, he'll either linger in an empty corner or make short, blunt conversation. Despite initially coming off as rude due to his timid nature, Byeonhwa would give anybody the shirt of his back with no hesitance on his part. Despite his kindness, which may come off as a want for friends, Byeonhwa is loathe to make bonds in fear they will be broken by the most minor of incidents.   Ya Youngjae: Byeonhwa's mother. He no longer contacts her, and she gives him the same treatment. Even if she, by chance, did want to reach out, Byeonhwa would not respond.
  Gan Mal-Chin: Byeonhwa does not know anything about his father beside his name, and that he left his mother once she announced her pregnancy. Even with this minimal knowledge, Byeonhwa has a feeling he'd resent his father.

  Born in Seoul, Byeonhwa Jinsil, born Myeongseong Damche, was brought into the world with a good start to his name. Named 'prestige carrier' in English, from start, he (or she, as of then) was bred to be a perfect successor to his mother's multi-million dollar cosmetics company. He was deprived of a normal childhood, spending most of his days being trained on how to act 'lady-like' and in a posh manner, as business required. His dysphoria had laid low in his life since his toddler years, but around his teens was when it came to a head. Finally, at age fifteen, he made the decision to come out to his mother as transgender. His mother did not take this news well: being brought up very traditional, Byeonhwa's mother kicked her son out of her life for his feelings, leaving him homeless as a result. Byeonhwa, luckily, managed to land himself a stable job as a barista and a place to live with a close childhood friend, and he eventually built up enough funds to move away and rent a small apartment. After completing his high school education, Byeonhwa bought a plane ticket to Tokyo and began his new life in Nerima City, a place he could live to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. At age nineteen, he landed a modeling gig at a small company, and eventually managed to go on a steady treatment of testosterone, taking the step of doing top and bottom surgery at twenty. He began his college education, majoring in painting. He legally changed his name to Byeonhwa Jinsil a year later to reflect himself: change truth. How Byeonhwa's life will continue, up to this point? We are sure to find out.

Determined: "Make your Combat Stance Your Everyday Stance": determination is an important characteristic for a Minamoto, after all, a family that is dedicated to fight shadows needs it in order to continue with this mission and enforce it on others. For him, determination is not about to set rules for a goal, but to set rules for your life, in that way you will achieve your goals naturally.

Cunning: Only through intelligence it is possible to focus the warrior's strengths (like determination or bravery), the conditions of the fight (ground, moment) and even the weakness of the enemy, and after that lying and hurting other people is all fair, that logic is valid not only for kenjutsu but for life itself too.

Distant: well he is a child raised in a powerful family with an aristocratic past, for many people he is gentle but distant, the kind of guy who never used slang, and the straight A student type. He is very self-controlled, being polite but distant as is expected of a descendant of a noble family. But he is not a rich big-head, for the reduced number of people who know him well, specially his cousin, he is a good person who really cares -only- for those who are family or who have gained his sympathy, expressing it through actions rather than words. However, in some occassions, after surpassing his breaking point, he can have burst of anger and violence.

Other details: his family, like the Republicans, has a polite dislike foreigners and homosexuals. He spent much of his childhood in Hokkaido, the Northern island of Japan, so he is homesick sometimes.

• Daisuke is the elder surviving son of the Minamoto family, a rich elitist family whose main branch has practiced kenjutsu since the Sengoku Age, therefore he is the heir of a tradition that had been perfected during centuries, and is currently a college student and part time as an instructor of the family dojo.
  
  Currently the only family he had is his gradfather, who is also the head of the family, as his mother died due to complications after his birth, and his father and elder sister died in a accident when he was a kid. For him those memories are particularly traumatic, for instance, he has never seen his mother except in pictures and the lost of his elder sister, who was his best friend too, had left a deep hole on him.
  
  His sister, Kyoko, was considered a genius in kenjutsu and the pride of the family, and the clear heir of the family tradition, and although they never quarreled openly he was envious of her skills and felt guilty of having those thoughts after she died.
  
  After her death , his grandfather pressed him with an intense training and harsh discipline as he had suddenly become the new heir of the family, but these intense training paid in the end, at the cost of sacrificing much of his social life or spare time, Daisuke, who had been a mediocre kenjutsuka, later won twice the kendo national championship during middle and high school, gaining the nickname of "tiger of Hokkaido" (the region where his family comes and he spent his childhood).
  
  Although he has convinced himself he's happy with the life he has, he sometimes wonders how is being a regular young man, singing in karaokes, playing videogames a lot, flirting and falling in love, and not having so many responsabilities as he has. But he handles that frustration releasing it during kendo/kenjutsu combats. In the middle school he was a straight A student. Anyway, he came to Nerima city to train kenjutsu with a respected sensei during a few months after that he wil have to return to Hokkaido, therefore he is not particularly interested in making friends in this city.
  He is currently betrothed with a girl, but there is little love between them.
